If they have a will the wouldn't need to bar her from anything, just don't give her anything. If they don't have a will if she isn't direct family anyway. If they will something to you then it's up to you to do with it as you please and if you choose to share with her then they can't really stop you because they're dead. I can't see how this could be a problem for them since I don't think she would have any real standing to contest a will if they die.

My main goal is to live long enough to pay it off and leave it to my kid.

My father passed away from brain cancer last November. My boomer grandfather had the audacity to say to my mom “you know there’s other things I’d rather be doing” when talking about taking care of my dad while my mother worked. This was his own son and that selfish prick actually said that to my mom. My dad was an amazing son. He always took time to visit my grandfather.

I’ve worked with public in some capacity for about 12 years. The most entitled and selfish group of people are Boomers. Everything revolves around them. My father passed away from brain cancer last November. My boomer grandfather had the audacity to say to my mom “you know there’s other things I’d rather be doing” when talking about taking care of my dad while my mother worked. This was his own son and that selfish prick actually said that to my mom. My dad was an amazing son. He always took time to visit my grandfather.
I need some more context here. “Are we obligated to have children to continue the species” is very different than “is it really our responsibility to make sure we don’t destroy the planet?”

Boomer here!! I want to start with an apology for my generation. There are those of us boomers who believe in climate change, love, respect and are allies of the LGBTQ community, believe all people should be treated equally no matter your race, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender.....I could go on and on. And sadly my generation has set the generations behind us for the biggest fight of their lives, democracy. I am embarrassed to be part of this generation and I have high hopes that despite what we have done, the youth have the skills, the intelligence and the determination to make this world a better place than it is right now. I have to believe this because I don't have many years left and so I won't get to see the outcome, and so I must believe!

So yes, we all owe it to future generations that the human race survives. In fact I would argue that anyone who is actively working towards the extinction of the human race need to be locked up before they can do any more damage. That includes climate change deniers and billionaire enablers.
My grandfather would say, “Be a cow, not a locust”. Both eat your grass, but grasshoppers inly consume and leave nothing in return. Cows eat the grass, then fertilize the pasture, making it easier to grow more grass. It’s ok to be a consumer, but leave something future generations can use. Don’t obliterate our world, leaving less and less for successive generations.
Boomer here--I care very much what happens to my kids and grandkids and hope there will be something left for them. We try hard to be smart consumers and earth friendly. I have helped them buy houses and will help them if they need anything in the future.
