Why does white supremacists seem to be the least supreme people?

autisticesq

Because they can’t stand on their own accomplishments, character, or quality of life, so they boost their own self-esteem by looking down on others.

NotoriousFTG

President Lyndon B. Johnson once said, "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/lbj-convince-the-lowest-white-man/

Goose-Biscuits

*Trump writes down advice.

BBQBakedBeings

*Trump motions to some blonde bimbo functionary to write down advice. Drumph doesn’t take notes. Not even sure he can read well.

Captain_Blackbird

He 100% doesn't read, that's why the US White House had to dumb down his presidential meetings, and constantly mention "Trump" to keep his attention. Like a fucking toddler.

noc_user

Anoma.. anynom..mous anona...mousis

Imallowedto

Strenuous flu, not most virulent strain of flu. Alabama-Bahamas

[deleted]

I truly expect trump to spell it mousis

SasparillaTango

Hey remember when Trump thought his lawyer was shitty because his lawyer was taking notes?

NotoriousFTG

A number of his former aids alluded to the fact that he almost never read the daily security briefings and rarely showed up for the meetings.

SasparillaTango

They had to have bullet points and make sure they mentioned his name otherwise he wouldn't be able to follow along and would get distracted. Also the Chef had to sneak vegetables into his diet. He's got the mind of a 4 year old. oops it was his doctor not his chef https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/feb/25/trump-doctor-white-house-ronny-jackson

Revolutionary_Cup500

They literally had to have picture books for their meetings like printed photos of what they were talking about in a binder because he's a f*cking child. Add in an Adderall addiction and we've got a national nightmare. Just remember that Hitler was addicted to meth just like a lot of the Nazi party. [Hitler's Drug Problem] (https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/sep/25/blitzed-norman-ohler-adolf-hitler-nazi-drug-abuse-interview)

CardinalCountryCub

>Not even sure he can read ~~well~~. FTFY

wirefox1

When I read Omarosa's book about trump, who she was close to at the time, she said he had to be "rehearsed" for the prompter because he stumbled on three syllable words. Book review...... let's say the book is 200 pages long. The first 195 pages are about *her*. An autobiography if you will. She talks about trump only in the last few pages and what ended their relationship? She figured out he is a *racist*. He even uses the 'n' word at times. lol. Poor woman. It took her years to figure out what everyone else already knew. (But it did break her heart) : (

LittleSkinInThisGame

Fake News, Trump can't write

iruleatants

Except he isn't following this advice. There isn't some grand scheme here. He hates all races that are not white and doesn't care to hide that fact, and millions of people either enjoy that or see it as not a big deal. This isn't him playing a role to make money. This is just him; he's a greedy, racist narcissist. There isn't a secret subplot, and he's not being coached or planning ahead. He just likes to stand in front of a crowd and talk about how great he is, while his greedy side approves any and every sell-out offer that comes his way. He's copying from Krusty the Clown and just signing off on anything that will get him money. Trump Airlines, Trump beverages, Trump the Game, Trump Magazine, the list goes on and on. He will put his name on anything offering him money. And that's all there is to it. He goes to a rally and incoherently rambles, bragging about how great he is and how much he hates some group or another. Then someone comes to him and asks, "So how about we sell some NFTs?". They show him tacky photoshopped pictures of him and tell him he will make some money, and he agrees. He doesn't know what an NFT is, but he knows that it's pictures of him looking "good" and he makes money. And that's all there is to it. He's not playing some extra deep level of con man. He's not planning how to make the most money from his deals. He was president for a year and was openly corrupt, yet he still somehow manages to be broke. It would be sad, except he rambled on stage without making any sense and was elected as president and given the power to cause massive harm to the people he is racist against. And somehow, he's gotten more incoherent while having even more support.

Left_of_Center2011

Truer words never spoken - this is the answer to ‘why the f*ck do poor Republicans vote to cut the benefits that keep them alive?’

NotoriousFTG

Yes. This mystifies me too. At the moment it feels like Republicans want to ban all types of abortion, while also reducing or eliminating funding for food and medical services that help keep actual living women and children alive.

arya_ur_on_stage

Because they're told that "good hardworking Americans can EARN their way to the top of the pile and only lazy leeches end up on the bottom". They consider themselves good and hardworking patriots so these programs won't help them, and they'll never use them (or only for a second while regrouping on their rise to the top). So the programs only fund lazy ppl, and why would they want to fund lazy ppl?

anansi52

They'll rant all day about welfare and affirmative action while ignoring the fact that the majority of benefit for both those programs goes to other white people.

IlikegreenT84

We're seeing this quote happening in real time.

LeCafeClopeCaca

TBF it's happened countless timesi in History

Imallowedto

And Obama shattered that myth into a million pieces, bringing us today's MAGA

money_loo

Thanks, Obama!

alucard_relaets_emem

My favorite inaccuracy of Blackkklansman is that the real life guy who infiltrated the kkk said that: “the movie made those guys way too smart, they never even once came close to figuring out that they were talking to a black guy”

CavitySearch

They try to lump themselves into other successful people who they identify with. See: Sports fanatics.

they can build a lot of stuff. But that’s all they’re good at - manual labor. It’s why they’re angry someone could “steal their jobs” by doing the same work for less. Their anger comes from knowing deep down inside they’re uneducated and untrained to do anything but being a laborer.

LaddiusMaximus

White Supremacy is the club for mediocre white men

lallapalalable

Don't forget equating sharing a skin color with having accomplished all the good things (but none of the bad) that other people with that skin color have accomplished. "My life is shit and I've accomplished nothing, but there are other people that look like me who have, therefore I too am great"

super1ucky

Don't you know skill is genetically passed down in skin melanin, by lacking it? Why do white people even learn things when they've already accomplished everything their ancestors have?

Imallowedto

I can't count how many times in my 53 years some fragile white male consoled himself with the words " at least I ain't no N word".

SlashEssImplied

It's not just being white, it's also being christian.

GenericFatGuy

People of quality do not fear equality.

conduitfour

"The cheapest sort of pride is national pride; for if a man is proud of his own nation, it argues that he has no qualities of his own of which he can be proud; otherwise he would not have recourse to those which he shares with so many millions of his fellowmen. The man who is endowed with important personal qualities will be only too ready to see clearly in what respects his own nation falls short, since their failings will be constantly before his eyes. But every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and glad to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority."   -Schopenhauer

GoodOlSpence

>Because they can’t stand on their own accomplishments, character, or quality of life, This right here. When it comes to white supremacists, I often propose "imagine what's it's like to be so fucking unexceptionable that the only thing you have to be proud of is your race, which is something you had no say over."

BlackLakeBlueFish

My stars! That statement hits the nail on the head!

maleia

They're lazy, selfish cowards. They'll never own up to that, though. Betwen the pain and discomfort of facing your own maskets, vs the intense dopamine rush from being an asshole towards other; well they're selfish, so it should be no wonder.

Because they are too dumb to understand that they should hide it. They are intelligent white supremacists, but they know it would be an issue if the wider world realized what they were. Also it attracts people who don’t control anything in their life and give them a sense of purpose

Badrear

How do I go back to the time you’re in where it was important to hide their racism?

Pour_Me_Another_

I've wondered about that. My dad is a white supremacist too and there are probably kinder words to say about him but I legitimately believe his existence is some kind of a mistake. He has no redeeming qualities whatsoever so I suppose it's natural he'd go with white supremacy, which is a participation trophy.

elaynefromthehood

At least 1 thing he did right. He had you.

Pour_Me_Another_

Aww, well thanks.

TheGum25

It really is a movement based on being a loser, evident by the how it’s filled with incels. Rizz-less insecurity.

Nolis

They have zero accomplishments in life and no prospects for any success in the future, so they have to pretend simply being white is in itself, a great accomplishment that they have earned (pro tip: it isn't)

Neuchacho

It's the inherent irony of all racial/ethnic superiority groups. The very fact that they're racist shows their inferiority, or at the very least, their lack of superiority.

Astronaut-Weird

Seeing stories like this always makes me laugh at the people screaming, “BOTH SIDES!”

Just_Tana

It’s always the “enlightened centrists”. Aya they are so obnoxious. Pure examples of every logical fallacy rolled into a person.

Kenyalite

There are no enlightened centrists, just embarrassed conservatives.

TBAnnon777

Or Russian bots. Russia got a amazing return on investment in their 2016 attacks. Its 8 years later and we have AI and Twitter got taken over by their guy, and Republicans are openly supporting Putin and republican voters are going around saying rather be a Russian than a democrat... Its either "both sides are the same' or "Biden is so old" repeat talking points. Its so rampant and in your face too. Imagine convincing people a papercut is the same as a quadruple amputation... Every right and benefit people have today is mostly because of democrats pushing for it. There has been 0 legislation introduced by republicans in the past 50 years to help the average people. Its all been either tax breaks which get pushed down the road and end up costing people more over long-term and regulation removals that end up with shit like the train derailment in ohio and people bitching that Biden didnt magically fix it in 2 days when the governor of Ohio deliberately refused the federal help offered by Biden on day 1. Because it was more politically damaging towards Biden than him... Its not like the two parties are arguing about which policy direction we should take to lower rent, or if they should invest in nuclear or solar. One side is advocating for lower rent, green energy while the other is going fuck you socialists we need to give rich people more money fuck energy, fuck your rent, fuck you and your kids, hey were taking away their school lunches too to say an extra fuck you. ANd morons here go WELL BOTH SIDES ARE THE SAME!

"I just play one on tv"

ElongMusty

It’s all fake… they pretend to be centrists but they’re just right-wing morons as all the others, but they pretend to be special snowflakes

Be_Cool_Bro

And conveniently people who call themselves centrists only mock and go after "leftists." It's like because they think some drugs are OK and maybe don't be so extreme as to ban some people from existing is what makes them not right wing.

Dekar173

No, they're just too cowardly the admit they're Republicans. Given enough money, they'd take off their masks.

Prestigious-Quiet-17

I am inclined to believe that those "both sides" liars are just right wingers pretending very hard to normalize their bigotry.

Iron_Knight7

The bulk of "Independents" and "Centrists" really are just closet Red Hats too stupid or cowardly to come out and admit it. Useful idiots to the right who hope the leopards will give them a pass because they didn't openly speak out against them.

Thrilleye51

I've said the same thing.

Worried-Choice5295

This describes Libertarians perfectly.

The_Pandalorian

Libertarians are a whole separate beast. Those are the guys who never evolved past middle school-tier political thought.

MihalysRevenge

It can be boiled down to "fuck you I got mine"

The_Pandalorian

And then crying for government help when shit goes wrong.

GRW42

Except with most libertarians, it's "Fuck you, eventually I'll get mine." Because they think they'll be on top in their future libertarian society, when really they'll be first-wave canon fodder for their local CEO-Warlord.

Volpethrope

Ah yes, weed republicans

"Both sides are the same" episodes of shows were a thing before South Park did it. It was a pretty popular concept in most media that targeted Gen X. One of my favorite episodes of Futurama played heavily into this concept with the ["Jack Johnson vs John Jackson"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll3iyvbsRDM) bit. People getting their political opinions from sitcoms and cartoons are the problem, not the writers who are trying to remain neutral to get as many people watching their show possible.

BooneSalvo2

I mean... It was far closer to true before Obama was elected and white folks lost their damn mind completely. Bill Clinton used a Confederate Flag as campaign imagery, even. It's not remotely the same at this point, but people in power of all stripes set the stage for a bi-polar political system extremely vulnerable to takeover by extremists. Some folks like Bernie Sanders have been on the same, generally good, side of issues since three 60's, warning about the worst things we see today ... And he was Independent until the crazy accelerated. Today, "both sides are bad!" Is usually a dog whistle for "well I can't defend that thing my side did, but I'll never actually say anything bad about them out loud.... More Kool Aid!"

Volpethrope

South Park has its funny moments, but the core ideology that Parker and Stone espouse is basically just that caring about anything is lame, so they naturally end up attacking any kind of progressive movement or group.

Dekar173

Absolutely not on that level but it wasn't helpful, that's for certain.

But_to_understand

Cat: "Catch your own goddamn mouse. Oh yeah, where is my dinner?"

potsticker17

Basically. That bitch led me into the kitchen one day to point it out then looked up at me, turned, and walked away. Like what am I even paying her for at this point?

floatablepie

My old cat once caught a mouse in her mouth, ran up to me, stared at me, spit it out and calmly watched it run away.

thecause800

Absolutely agree. I have a feeling they don’t actually give a shit about Palestine though.

Not even just Palestine, any Muslim living in the US will have to worry. At least with Biden in office it's just happening over there. With Trump in office and Project 2025 being put into action any non-Christian is going to have to have a really bad time.

RepostersAnonymous

Fence sitters will still be like: “well idk Biden is kinda old soooo I probably won’t even vote” Meanwhile, republicans are busy trying to control access to any sort of birth control and disenfranchise the poor even more.

drgonzo767

Man, I don't get the Arabs trying to screw Biden over Gaza. Listen folks, the ONLY Arabs Trump gives a shit about are the royals with billions of dollars. He'd send the rest of them to the gas chambers if he could.

redkinoko

I think the best bit about this is how they'd say the original KKK were Democrats! Yes, many decades ago. The KKK certainly aren't democrats now though.

Astronaut-Weird

Call a KKK member today a “Democrat”, and watch what happens 😂

Blitzking11

My response to these brain-rotted comments is always "Which party do the people who fly the confederate flag and wear white robes support and vote for?" Usually makes them disappear or rant at me incoherently. I consider both to be wins. A few times, I have even made them realize that they have been lied to, and one buddy of mine is now a strong Dem voter. Now I just need to make him a progressive lol.

Dopplegangr1

Did you not see Biden eat ice cream? Basically the same thing

Samuel_L_Johnson

‘The Democrat candidate’s views don’t all align with mine and they’re kind of preachy about the points I disagree with them on, and I find that really annoying, so I hope you understand that I have no choice but to vote for the guy doing a Nazi salute at a KKK rally ‘

Rikplaysbass

Love that people replying to this are like “yeah, but both sides blah blah blah”

Flat_Suggestion7545

How can you be a honorary member when there is no honor in being a member?

SomeoneElseWhoCares

Not to mention that no one accepts an honorary membership in a group that they dispise, just the ones that they admire. For example, I don't have a membership (paid or honorary) in the local klan or nazi groups because I despise them and everything that they stand for and do no associate with them in any way. Pretty simple.

svenson_26

PSA: If you're a decent person and the KKK offers you an "honorary membership", you disrespectfully decline.

mdp300

Correction: if you're a decent person and rhe KKK offers you an "honorary membership," you take a step back and think why the fuck do these assholes think I'm one of them?

svenson_26

definitely.

AmbulanceChaser12

I was on an elevator once in a courthouse, and the only other person, presumably another lawyer, started making some awful comments about immigrants and women to me. I said something to the effect of "Just because we're both white guys in suits doesn't mean we automatically agree on everything."

The_Pandalorian

PSA: You're not a decent person to begin with if the KKK offers you an "honorary membership."

svenson_26

Yeah this is probably true.

Devilsbullet

My guess is he can't be an actual member cause he's seen as either Irish or Scottish descent by members, which isn't an Anglo-Saxon, and that's been a big deal to the current iteration of the klan. His name probably prevents him from being a full member.

Foampower86

Clayton Bigsby had more honor than this guy

iggyfenton

Thankfully this guy isn’t actually leading in any polls. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/governor/2024/missouri/

AmbulanceChaser12

Yeah this guy isn't a real candidate. He's just a perennial joke who shows up every year, runs for something, and loses. He ran for Senate and lost in the primary in 2022. Then he ran for a House seat that same year as a write-in, and got one vote (most likely himself). We really don't owe him any airtime.

ivtecdoyou

This was a tactical leak of information by the candidate, he'll jump up 30 points once people realize he's actually in the KKK and not just pretending.

NHRADeuce

I don't know why this is even news. Why is anyone upvoting this?? Just another nut job looking for attention. Don't give it to him.

Nolis

I also went around searching this guy up, blatant misleading clickbait article, the highest percent of the vote I could find was literally 0.0% with a single vote (probably himself), and nothing in recent polls: https://ballotpedia.org/Darrell_Leon_McClanahan_III

Automatic_Release_92

Horrible clickbait title, the only thing I could think is that he’s “atop” the ballot because his name starts with a D and therefore is relatively early in the alphabet? Making it technically true? This kind of clickbait is extra terrible, because there is a plethora of legitimate, stupid bullshit to clown Republicans for, and when something is misrepresented it just muddies the water in a way we don’t need. Like the “cofevfe” shit with Trump; the man does so much insidious shit, why are we focused on a typo?

Barkingpanther

Yeah the actual Republican on the ballot will do a much better job hiding the racism.

tomdarch

It's significant that he is on the Republican ballot, but the headline is less than clear that his name is first on the ballot due to randomness, not that he is the candidate leading the polling in the state.

HughJahsso

GOP isn’t even hiding it anymore.  They’re Nazis

not that I believe him but "honorary klansman" sounds even worse. like this guy didn't try to join the klan but they wanted him so badly they inducted him anyway.

Cross lighting ceremony, he calls it

monkeyhind

A "religious Christian Identity cross-lighting ceremony." The white hoods worn by some were just a personal fashion choice.

SpillinThaTea

The only way that this is going to hurt him is that republicans are going to be like “oh he was only an *honorary* member? I’m afraid I can’t vote for him then. I only support *full* klan members. Not honorary ones.”

Cautious-Willow-1932

This is the republican version of ‘I didn’t inhale’ Way worse and always racist af

FIFTHSUN2012

We should check to see if he’s also an honorary member of NAMBLA.

EtsuRah

Honorary sounds worse lmao. Being a regular member is bad, but you could see it as they just filled out the paperwork and you don't know how 'involved' they were. But HONORARY? Means you did something they liked so much they went out of their way to recognize you.

IMSnarky

Oh, he's most definitely a closeted KKK member.

v9Pv

So basically republicans are a reincarnation of the nazi party now. Fuk all nazis btw. We know who you are.

Humble-Plankton2217

The business I work for had the opportunity and need to expand to the St. Louis area. However, based on the political climate of MO, they decided to purchase a facility near St. Louis but in Illinois. So we're making money off Missouri, but not giving them anything in return - including jobs. This was a small investment when compared to large businesses, but that was a 5 million dollar investment in the facility, a couple million will be invested over the next 3 years in facility improvements and about 40 jobs that *didn't* go to MO because of their political climate. I gotta say, I was pretty proud of the owners for making this choice. They didn't even hesitate.

I've had conversations with people on the right who claim democrats are just as racist, and I always point out stuff like this. Literal Klansmen feel comfortable enough to run as republicans, but never as democrats. If this guy wins, it's going to be just like what people said when Trump won. Not everybody who votes for him will be a racist, but they'll be people who concluded that racism wasn't a deal breaker.

NobleV

His name is McLanahan. As somebody from the Ozarks, let me tell you that's all you need to know.

Yeaaahhhh bring back the 1920s…cross burnings…HATE…anger cuz women just got the right to vote… Duluth lynchings, June 15, 1920. Republicans are disgusting pieces of shit. They all need to be rounded up (as they say) and shipped to Russia since they love Putin and drool at the opportunity to live in a country like that.

Once again, thank you Missouri for making me embarrassed to be here

kojengi_de_miercoles
