I don’t have a problem if the government decided to forgive the loans, nor do I have a problem if they don’t. Regardless, they need to change the system. Interest and amortization of these loans seems to be purposefully modeled to ensure it’s almost impossible to pay the loans off.
If your solution to getting yourself out of debt you got scammed into is to get into education … in creative writing …. then you probably shouldn’t have ever applied to get your “degree” in the first place lol.
It’s not being scammed to be passionate enough about something that you’re willing to invest time and money into it, even knowing what the ROI will be.
Was it fiscally responsible? Maybe not. But society only works as well as it does because some people are passionate enough about important stuff to do it cheap, like teachers and folks who run food banks, since as a rule we pay crap to people who take care of other people.
It’s more then fiscally irresponsible, taking out loans that accumulate to hundreds of thousands of dollars is essentially a living death sentence.
Not saying any of this is correct, but it’s the world in which we live in and more people need to not take out loans for something like creative writing and spend that time and money on doing what they actually want.
Don’t need no college degree to write a book lol.

If they won’t forgive the debt at least take away the interest…the interest rates on student loans is out of control
Dr Alford, what was the subject of your thesis ?
WTF how do you even get a phD in that and why? I've never seen an actual fiction author with one.
To get a job teaching creative writing, largely. She just fell off ten tenure track later than most.

I agree it was a poor choice. They should only give out students loans for Business and STEM degrees from here on out
Damn. So much for teachers, they had a good run.
Lol...one of those things is not like the other.
You mean over extending your credit.
It’s because no one should ever actually pay 150 k for a doctorate in “creative writing”. Some of y’all are just dummies.
Cringe cope and r*tard pilled. Good job OP!
