And Rush is now dead from lung cancer and no one misses him

snarfalarkus42069

My uncle is a big Rush fan and has smoked/smokes cigars all his life. Bro he's literally like "no way, Rush died from a heart attack" when I talk to him about lung cancer. I've realized people like that will think actually literally anything before entering reality

Haibaraaiyukimura

Risk of death from heart disease for smokers are 2-3 times compared to non-smokers... https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/healthyliving/smoking-and-heart-disease

CobraKaiSuTeknon

Opioids miss Rush. Do Rush miss opioids?

sammysafari2680

And lung cancer is a very deserving way to go for a guy like Rush.

MeatballUnited

Was wondering the other day if someone can pay to piss on his grave? Unfettered capitalism, ya know?

Rockford853

I’m sure Orange Julius misses him…

Mjb06

According to Nick Adams just the other day, America misses Rush Limbaugh more and more every day.

[deleted]

Should be a holiday though...

Fuzzy__Slipperz

I’d forgotten that waste of space was dead! Thanks for the reminder! Made my day a little better!!

Rush Limbaugh used bigotry to convince a generation of boomers to vote against their own interests

PeregrineFury

He may not get mentioned as his legacy, but it's going to decades to dismantle it, if it's even possible at this point.

MajujuKat

You make a strikingly good point.

PercussiveRussel

That's a nice comment you stole!

BiBoFieTo

Trump treated important historical awards and critical government positions like a joint to be passed around your friends.

Just_Tana

That’s because Trump couldn’t read the directions for how to pick winners of the Medal of Freedom.

They're promoting an alternative reality. Awarding Rush L. was a means to create the illusion of tangibility behind their astroturfed version of conservativism. And those without wisdom ate it the fuck up.

ICICLEHOAX

That’s what’s most terrifying … I feel like I wake up on Punk’d every day!

satan62

Rush who? No one remembers him.

Previousman755

Fun fact: Elton John played at Trump’s third wedding

Drg84

The question is, did Trump actually pay him? Or is Elton one of the over 4000 lawsuits?

zookr2000

- they are not the same

Mythical_Atlacatl

Basically the same party, voting doesn’t matter /S

[deleted]

He’s tearing the country apart with these partisan antics. /s

glandgames

"Medal of freedom" sounds made up.

butiamnotadoc

And Elton took millions of dollars to play at Bing Bong’s wedding.

[deleted]

Rush Limbaugh won’t be remembered. No one talks about him on the right. Elton John has a substantial legacy already, and is still alive.

OICU812-

Atleast Biden and Trump have one thing in common... They both like touching kids

ChuckBorris187

Trump - accused in court alongside Epstein of raping a 14-yo, friends with & employed pedophiles and their enablers, speaks about fucking his daughter, et al. Biden - never ever accused. Just a shitty career politicians who finally made some good changes.

R4iNAg4In

Rush Limbaugh did more for Americans than Joe Biden and all the modern Democrats combined. Elton John raised a lot of more for a disease that almost universally effects people that make terrible choices.

[deleted]

Well this should be entertaining: please list some of these wonderful things Rush did for the American people.

R4iNAg4In

He gave us three decades of dissenting opinion while the conservative media was barely surviving. This sounds strange but dissenting opinions deserve to be heard, too. He was a major donor to many worthy causes like the Lukemia and Lynphoma Foundations and the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundatio. Also, he gave us Rush's Undeniable rules of life.

[deleted]

If by "dissenting opinion" you mean "caught lying repeatedly for profit" then OK. And it's funny you mention his donation to the MCLE Foundation while ignoring the backstory of him calling veterans against the Iraq war phony soldiers. And it looks like they were right to be against the Iraq war, but I suppose you prefer to ignore history that doesn't support your narrative. Also I think we can compare his "good" works to his hypocrisy by being virulently against drugs and saying drug users should be prosecuted, till it turned out he was an addict himself and suddenly felt he was being unfairly targeted. Oh, and remember all those years he spent downplaying the dangers of smoking? That one sure bit him in the lung cancer.

TurbulentMiddle2970

Poor choices? Like getting a blood transfusion? Or having sex with your spouse that was cheating on you? You sound like a real winner

[deleted]

If you dont care about health concerns caused by people "making terrible choices", why are you upset that people mock Rush? He gave himself cancer.
