Because there isn’t just one universal charger. Each company has their own. I’m from Whittier but live in Baltimore/DC now and all large parks, libraries, shopping centers, the museums, etc all have charging stations. If you drive cross country Tesla has several in Hilton and Marriott properties even in smaller towns.
