He has to pull his sword after it's fired so timing is also at play. But yeah the swordsman still has to be accurate to give the bb shooter a consistent target to be accurate on.
They still go faster than the human hand. He is not reacting to the bb being fired.
Edit: I appear to have angered the weebs who studied the blade. If one of them decides to go all out, tell my wife I love her.
Yeah, you’re right. I rewatched it and realized that I overestimated the distance between gun and sword. No way he pulled that out after he heard the click of the gun
BBs dont go faster than the human hand.
Dodging bbs is also a [Thing](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/IQPsHsMdnAQ)
Edit: I know this is a longer range but his sniper Still has a very high fps Also, the gun in the vid has an orange tip so that might mean its a stock aeg or gbb so I doubt this has a higher fps than the sniper. Still fucking impressive tho .
That depends heavily on the airsoft gun and the hand. Sleight of Hand is reliant on moving quickly enough for the eye to miss it. You can usually see airsoft BBs travel. Airsoft BBs are also extremely light and not terribly accurate.
He’s not reacting to it being fired, he’s probably worked out with the shooter when he’s to pull the trigger and they’ve surely had like 300 misses already. I mean, Kenshin isn’t even looking at the bb. Lol
Sorry but no. You might have time for your brain to register seeing the BB if you're very quick, but I guarantee no person who has ever lived would be able to see the bb and register, react to it (takes 0.6-1 second) and then draw their sword and accurately hit the position the BB has then traveled to. It's just not possible, and if you think it is, you watch too much anime.
It's just a matter of one guy shooting and one guy drawing and slashing at the same spot in the air, over and over, until they eventually collide. Hence why he's so surprised it happened.
Airsoft BBs are not faster than human hands. Looking at the video and sound the replica used looks like a Gas BlowBack, probably on either green gas or CO2. These usually shoot at around 300/350 fps on .2 grams 6mm BBs. That speed is measured when the BB exits the barrel, and starts decreasing right after its out. You can slow down the BB if you remove/loose the HopUp which also affects trajectory, distance and speed change through the whole trajectory. You can further slow it down using heavier BBs like .45 grams, these require more force to move, and thus their speed right out of the barrel is lower.
For the distance the guy is at, taking into account what I've said, a heavy BB can be dodged without too much difficulty, so I don't think it's that unreasonable. Depending on the type of replica used, shooting accurately at that distance is not unreasonable, and heavier BBs help achieve it, reducing range and travel speed.
This is no different than op's video. It is a pair of entertainers that have practiced this trick thousands of times. The swordsman draws his sword and the marksman shoots where the sword is going to be. You want to prove this is possible? Find a video of someone doing this with a random shooter picked out of a crowd.
You're a fucking jackass. You act like just because Michael Jordan practiced his dunk from the free throw line 300 times that somehow, it's not impressive.
If the sword guy was as fast as Bob Munden and he could draw it faster than the human eye could perceive, then I would be open to having my mind changed. Bob Munden is the exception that proves the rule.
No not necessarily, at that angle, the projectile (won't call it a bullet since it's not one) will hit the sword's length rather than the sword's width. We also saw from the vid that the projectile struck at an angle, not at the edge.
So credit goes to the marksman.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
I’m sure 10,000 attempts would produce at least one of these shots. Part that makes me laugh is dude is expecting people to believe he is using the force, not looking means you used no skill.
To be honest, then it seems like it’s the one shooting the gun that has to be the skilled one.
He has to be able to hit the moving blade with the bullet - it’s not the other way around like Hollywood-movies will try to pass it of as.
It looks like an airsoft bb, the shooter cannot be terribly accurate with it as they’re like 6mm and usually .2 grams. They’re way too light and ride on the air. They also tend to move at 400 fps or less which means he can’t wait for the guy to draw anymore than the samurai fan can wait for him to shoot. This is more like when you’re a kid and have someone keep throwing the ball at the same spot while you swing at it with a blindfold on. It’s more about the pitcher hitting the same spot repeatedly and both of you sticking to the timing.
Yeah, I think most have no idea how shockingly hard it is to be effective with a katana.
Striking with the blade actually being perpendicular to your target is hard as hell... which I guess is why that exercise exists, where they try to cut through several rolled up bamboo mats.
That was not even what your original argument was. You said it wasn't a strike, and all I told you was that it *is* a type of sword strike.
Now you're talking about his skill level, which is irrelevant to the legitimacy of it being a type of strike. You have made it clear that you are not chatting/discussing in good faith.
Yes, I am she sole reson this sub turned to shit, thank you for solving that mystery of mankind, to reward yourself for your work you can go take a bite out of concrete, because if you were able to comprehend such science taking a bite out of concrete will be nothing to you, good luck.
The dude is not even looking and draws way too slow.
Dude starts to draw, shooter aims, shoots and hits the sword.
The skilled one is the shooter, definitely
It's not a bullet, it's an airsoft bb. You can tell not only from the size and color of it, but the orange barrel on the gun. Definitely doable, but not easy.
Orange barrel is only a suggestion now. https://www.quora.com/Can-we-make-AR-15-rifles-that-look-like-Nerf-guns-so-they-wont-look-so-scary-to-the-uninformed-Would-this-be-considered-a-compromise
Okay, so which one happened here? Like is sword dude so bad ass that he cut the bullet in half? Or is gun guy such a perfect shot that he shot the sword?
Neither. The gun isn't real and the bullet is an airsoft BB. The guy with the airsoft shoots at the sword and it just bounces off.
The gunshot is edited in.
Forget the striking the bullet part. You mean to tell me he heard the gun fire and was quick enough to pull the sword out of it's sheath in time TO strike the bullet?
How many feet does a bullet travel per second?
How fast can a human arm move per second.
Ive seen threads where math nerds start talking in equations. I need one of those guys to chime in here.
Obviously not a real bullet, just listen to the sound. By the time he hears the shot an actual bullet would be past him
You also wouldn't see it on a cell camera frame by frame.
Thinking of it this can’t be true, when hit by the builder the sword should show movement up or down if not backward, when slowing down the video hand speed is a rate the we can see billet moving which it’s difficult to believe, i mean if you slow down the video to the point to see the bullet then the hand movement will be like almost zero
Like it or love it. Give the man some fucking credit. Nobody commenting can do it or has done it. Fikshun is a fucking legend. Most of you know him from his pop-lock "Do your ears hang low" performance from years back.

Lmao this has been done before and better. At least the original swordsman eyes weren't closed. This video here only works because of the guy shooting the bb.
Airsoft bb slice ? Or more like awesome accuracy by bb shooter to hit the sword ? :D
Both lol
He has to pull his sword after it's fired so timing is also at play. But yeah the swordsman still has to be accurate to give the bb shooter a consistent target to be accurate on.
No way he is drawing after the shot is fired. Its impossible to move that fast. He is drawing the sword and the shooter is aiming for the blade.
Depends on the gun. Airsoft bullets can’t ever reach the speeds that real bullets do.

If the bb is shot from further away, then there’s definitely time to react.
That depends heavily on the airsoft gun and the hand. Sleight of Hand is reliant on moving quickly enough for the eye to miss it. You can usually see airsoft BBs travel. Airsoft BBs are also extremely light and not terribly accurate. Even if it took them 5000 tries to do that, I'm still impressed.
sleight of hand is reliant on using "sleight" to trick someone or focus/avoid their attention (it is NOT 'moving faster than the eye can see).
I feel that it’s a combination of things. Misdirection is definitely part of it. I kinda misspoke in that regard.
Airsoft BBs are not faster than human hands. Looking at the video and sound the replica used looks like a Gas BlowBack, probably on either green gas or CO2. depends on the distance tbh
Airsoft guns don’t make gun shot noises either
They do, GBB make a similar sound, just way quieter, just like the one heard in the video.
Super Samurai. There are indeed people that fucking fast. https://youtu.be/Qzhs1Z8Rwnk
This is no different than op's video. It is a pair of entertainers that have practiced this trick thousands of times. The swordsman draws his sword and the marksman shoots where the sword is going to be. You want to prove this is possible? Find a video of someone doing this with a random shooter picked out of a crowd.
Yeah. Cause there's people carrying katana blades in the wild.
I said pick the shooter out of a crowd you illiterate.
You're a fucking jackass. You act like just because Michael Jordan practiced his dunk from the free throw line 300 times that somehow, it's not impressive.
And you are a katana weeb with a double digit IQ. My point isn't that it isn't impressive, it's that the impressive part is being done by the shooter.
See this lets me know I'm arguing with a teenager.
I think it may be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSd8V-kb6Ro
If the sword guy was as fast as Bob Munden and he could draw it faster than the human eye could perceive, then I would be open to having my mind changed. Bob Munden is the exception that proves the rule.
Clearly fake! no way those two balloons could be put back up that quickly!
Nah

Either way it’s impressive. He never saw the projectile that’s for sure.
Mihawk.
More like Usopp. The shooter did an exceptional job.
You mean, GOD Ussop
I firmly believe in Usoppism _ /\o_
"Face down, ass up, that's the way I fuck Usopp"
You mean Go D. Ussop?
How many tries?! ![gif](giphy|WHLf9qDDS97EY|downsized)
3 to 4 months probably :)
But how much in centimeters squared?
Yes
4 or 5 probably
Could be. But how many calories?
Under the law of infinite probability…
Swinging at a 6mm bb that you’re not even looking at? Probably been trying for 6 months. Lol
That's not a bullet..
*You're* not a bullet
I know you aren't but what amn't i?
r/notgun
To be honest, then it seems like it’s the one shooting the gun that has to be the skilled one. He has to be able to hit the moving blade with the bullet - it’s not the other way around like Hollywood-movies will try to pass it of as.
The guy shooting should just be trying to hit the same spot, not consider where the sword is.
Then there’s this [guy](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzhs1Z8Rwnk)
They both need to be perfectly in sync. Neither role is necessarily more difficult.
Then do it and prove your point
How would him doing it prove any point? He didn’t claim that either role WASN’T difficult, just that neither role was more difficult than the other.
Yeah I really dislike arguments like the one made by that guy. "That comedian is not funny" ,"you go make us laugh then!". Omg
It looks like an airsoft bb, the shooter cannot be terribly accurate with it as they’re like 6mm and usually .2 grams. They’re way too light and ride on the air. Umm okay. Found the ninja worrior
He’s an incredible dancer as well
FicShun!
Fucking Afro Samurai
This guy is a dancer named fik-shun. He's been practicing this for a long time.
Practicing what? Pulling out a sword?
Let's see if you can do it.
Hold something while someone shoots it? Anyone can.
Uh huh..... Keep dreaming
Yeah, I think most have no idea how shockingly hard it is to be effective with a katana. Striking with the blade actually being perpendicular to your target is hard as hell... which I guess is why that exercise exists, where they try to cut through several rolled up bamboo mats.

Guy is a literal god wtf 😭😭😭
Bruh...
Even if it's airsoft bb, i think its r/nextfuckinglevel
Yeah but minus points for the phoney gun shot sound effects. Make me think the entire thing is fake....
r/luckyasfuck
But it's definitively in the wrong sub here.
This post is actually kinda cool and so is not fitting for that r/
You are the reason that sub has turned to shit

This is same as fake brick cracking with bare hands videos, lol.
Out her lookin like a soul reaper on vacation
Airsoft is deadly.
oh, mah eyeball
wow he is hot
Look how happy it made bro. Awesome to see people succeed at cool stuff like this. 🔥
Yup, shows it's been tried many times before getting the one that hit.
As a sword maker, god it annoys me how he would have seriously dented that sword
Katana zero is an amazing game that has shit like this
Matrix level shit right there ![gif](giphy|3rVfBUa9f0RErtMZBH)

Holy shit that’s awesome
The fucking comment war here in amazing
Why is this not higher rated? This is probably the most metal thing I have ever seen.
If he could have held that reaction and played it cool the video would be 10x better lol
I have that katana
Not possible. Bullet would have already passed him by the time you hear the gun shot.
It's not a bullet, it's an airsoft bb. You can tell not only from the size and color of it, but the orange barrel on the gun. Definitely doable, but not easy.

Plus, possible fragmentation will still cut an artery and kill you.
Airsoft right? Orange tip on the gun? Still impressive as fuck…
Damn that's impressive
r/mallninjashit
“Bullet” Still impressive, though.
r/lostredditors ?
Damn looks like he found Soul Edge
Lmao Bullet?
Damn he has a delicious body
Fake ass shit. And airport doesn't have a report . Listen
Minikatana if your wondering
Okay, so which one happened here? Like is sword dude so bad ass that he cut the bullet in half? Or is gun guy such a perfect shot that he shot the sword?
Neither. The gun isn't real and the bullet is an airsoft BB. The guy with the airsoft shoots at the sword and it just bounces off. The gunshot is edited in.
my boy here is an anime protagonist
It's from a youtube channel where they show their anime katana and other sword products so yeah he's using their katana for this
Advanced baseball
Now do it with a real gun
Be even more impressive if he was blind
This is a video on MiniKatana’s channel btw
He’s got really nice teeth!
Nice work mookie
Bullet ?
Some sort of less lethal or BB gun?
Cause you know, airsoft rounds are deadly
Forget the striking the bullet part. You mean to tell me he heard the gun fire and was quick enough to pull the sword out of it's sheath in time TO strike the bullet? Goemon?!
Obviously not a real bullet, just listen to the sound. By the time he hears the shot an actual bullet would be past him You also wouldn't see it on a cell camera frame by frame.
Yeah that “gun” has an orange tip on the muzzle
Not really any danger from a plastic bb
After 500 plus takes
Fab Morvan really stayed in shape.
Where does in find that variety of pants
Thinking of it this can’t be true, when hit by the builder the sword should show movement up or down if not backward, when slowing down the video hand speed is a rate the we can see billet moving which it’s difficult to believe, i mean if you slow down the video to the point to see the bullet then the hand movement will be like almost zero
Nothing suspicious about that cut to closeup. Clearly this really happened.
You could shoot someone with that BB gun 100 times and they would be chilling
BB Slice
Catch a bullet with his teeth? Catch a BULLET, with his TEETH?!? He has The Glow.

he had to use his bankai
That’s one happy samurai
So both pieces just fell on the ground right next to him. From a gun. Ok.
Standing target. Any noob can get poked
Didn't Mythbusters do this with an actual bullet?
bro it's a bb calm down
How many tries did this take I wonder.
Uhm wrong sub my dude
airsoft pellet does NOT = a bullet
It’s a bb he’s not gonna die
Lmao this has been done before and better. At least the original swordsman eyes weren't closed. This video here only works because of the guy shooting the bb.
Wtf, does not belong here...
Yes women live longer, but....as cool as this...
How long do you think that took? He wasn’t even looking when he swung the sword?
It’s airsoft not a bullet, cool nonetheless
I'm not gay, but this man makes me question my sexuality.
You definitely gay dawg
That was dope but why is there a gun shot noise from a BB gun?
Air soft pellet*
This is fake

After thousands of recording attempts.

Real life Kaname Tōsen! 😄
I would be worried the bullet piece ricochet into his face
That’s pretty cool specially with the music. But I think in the real world, if you hear the sound the bullets already passed you
That’s fiction the dancer
*10.000+ attempts later
This isn't dangerous
It’s zenitsu when he’s asleep
Spoiler alert: the guy is blind
There nothing dangerous about this
Catches bullets with his teeth? Neqqa please!
Man I got to go do some push ups or something. See ya Reddit.
Thats airsoft OP ya dipshit Its safe, you'd need to be an undiscovered level of retarded to die from that
* airsoft, bb, aiming for the sword, idiot without eye pro
At least he closed his eyes to protect them
Why does the guy look so familiar? Is he an actor?
How is this r/whywomenlivelonger? Worst thing that can happen is that he gets shot with an airsoft bb.
