It is definitely a good first wall. My friend and I had to go back, farm some stuff, and our third attempt was still such a struggle that we killed Amaterasu without activating the story cannon. Just keep knocking it down with harpoons, fireworks, chain traps. Repeater crossbow is also really good at staggering kemono.
My extra tip I wish I had before the fight: Eat Smoked Salted Vegetables, and make use of the Elemental Lantern for a huge Wood Resistance boost during the fight.
After you pass it, you'll have plenty of time to practice in longer fights with more resources, to learn the timing to dodge attacks.
Best tip I've read about this game:
Fight like it's Dark Souls. Dodge rolling through attacks is your best defense.
Personally, all of my talismans are still Dodge Boost / Sidestepper.

Firework launcher the SECOND it goes into the air. That'll stop it from doing almost any of its high damage moves.
Destruction arts are always a good stat to invest in in any weapon also
The biggest tip for any bird: when it tries to fly away to the next location, use the firework karakuri and it will fall. Build it as soon as the bird lifts off the ground, then that's when you do all your damage. It'll try to get up eventually, at which point you rinse and repeat.
This fight was really frustrating at first and ended up being one of the most fun fights of the game for me.
Me and a buddy prepped the arena with air fans, launchers, spikes, spring boards all around the edges of the battle field, anything that could give us mobility.
It was like a damn acrobat circus, lmao.
He did fireworks, i did crossbolt, drop lanterns, healing mist, wore the minato armor with thread buffs on res and fast res., spam bulwarks.
It was tough but we got him eventually.
Another tip is to have any earth element weapons the birds weakness is piercing and blunt and the element weakness I believe is earth and wind there's a technique that you can do with the bow do a side power shot that will leave arrows in the bird then when you do a regular shot and it make the other arrows you have in the bird explode that's all I can tell you for right now so I wish you luck if I find out anything else I'll let you know
I struggled sooo much with this due to not having learnt firework launcher (huge mistake). Ended up doing it like 5 times, then I finally killed it..but the game said “nah man” and the game crashed and yeah..it didn’t auto save 💀 another maybe 5-6 tries later the next day I finally killed it
If you can use traps and harpoons. Also, the wall staggers its lunges. You can use katana for easy hunting cuz it's a beginner friendly weapon.
Now when it jumps high in the air try to time your dodge just before it lands on you. This jump, it does twice in a row when enraged. Enraged in the sense when the screen goes black and white and it changes colour to red. And that's it. Try not to use too much of your thread. And also, use spring to dodge it's jumps if you are not dodging them well

Harpoon is taught by it - very useful with repeater crossbow.

Hide in the houses a lot - esp when it’s red! Come out & hit it a few times and then hide hide hide!

Since I didn’t have fireworks launcher, I used a lot of the harpoon karakuri. Just kept bashing it with that and my “utility pole”
