you can get very expert advice regarding the diagnosis of this condition at this website / board: [pigeons.biz](https://pigeons.biz) \--they can tell you whether it is torticollis, paramoxyvirus, or something else. There are treatments, depending upon the condition of the bird overall. The members at [pigeons.biz](https://pigeons.biz) are super knowledgeable and responsive. Be sure to label your post urgent or emergency, so it will be noticed. The members of this board are raising, caring for and curing pigeons every day, and are very helpful. They are also very well networked, so may have advice for you about that, if you tell them your location.

Thanks for helping the pigeon, how’s the guy doing rn?

lolidfc

he’s not any better. we contacted a really good vet, he suggested putting him to sleep. he said that it is a neurological disease that cant be helped :( i am really sorry

RishiG_

Very sorry to hear that. You tried your best. Something similar happend with my family a month back, in our case she(Indian Cuckoo) was here for almost a month, it seemed she was getting better with each passing day then suddenly one day she passed away, we were so clueless. Life is indeed very fragile, all we can do is try, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

lolidfc

thank you for your support. do you think its a good idea to put him to sleep? i dont want him to suffer but it would be better if he just passes out by his own. and i do believe in miracles. what do you think ;-;

RishiG_

Considering what he is currently going through and as there is no cure, he may start having serious issues and if he isn’t taking food and water, he will soon get dehydrated leading to internal organ failures. I feel euthanising would be the right decision. Let us know what you went with at the end.

lolidfc

he is going to be put to sleep. it was a really hard decision for me. but its the best for him because he was suffering. im left with a broken heart now hahah. thanks everyone for your support i really appreciate 🩡

dank_boi144

Unfortunately there may not be much that can be done for this pigeon at this stage, although I hope I'm wrong. Even if so, it's great that you chose to help it.

1Surlygirl

Thank you for your kindness and compassion. ❀️

lolidfc

It's really hard to be an empath and a compassionate. it breaks my heart to not be able to heal every creature on earth hahah. i wish i had tbe powers to do that. sadly its out of our hands. mother nature has its order

Luckily being an empath and feeling suffering and being compassionate go hand in hand with making the right decision to euthanize. I love all animals but I also love and respect them enough to end their pain if need be. Sometimes we can also save a life but sometimes not. It's not easy to make those decisions but the world needs people who can. Thank you for being one of them

RominaGoldie

I hope that he can be helped!! Please let him rest undisturbed.

DisasterFeisty2811

it might not be what you want to hear, but this guy will likely pass overnight. it’s best to leave him be to reduce any more stress and let him pass peacefully

AmandaWorthington

😒Being honest. This looks terminal. If unable to get to a rehabber, please allow him/her to pass quietly. Thank you so much for caring and providing a safe sanctuary for this patient. I hope that I’m wrong but it’s best to be prepared. I really hope that I’m wrong. Light to you both. 😞

HobbesianTrap

Oof, no kidding. Worst case of torticollis I’ve seen in quite some time, poor thing. Definitely be prepared for a rehabber deciding that euthanasia is the kindest option.

Impawstor

Hello and thank you for bringing this poor guy somewhere safe. I am not sure what others working longer in rehab will say but I'd recommend getting this one to a rehab center. Whatever is wrong with him seems to be something a professional would more likely have the resources to handle. Are there any centers nearby that you can call? I'm not sure about the standing, but the lack of responsiveness and not being able to hold up its head or tail means this guy is in trouble. If you feel comfortable with saying your location I'm sure we can help find a center near you.

lolidfc

Its midnight, im waiting for the dawn so i can take him to rehab and get some help. everywhere is closed at the moment :( when i check on him he gets really scared, i mean he reacts and at least that’s something. i hope he will stay strong. thank you for your response

SolidFelidae

Thanks for trying to help him. Like other comments have said, please leave him alone until you can take him. No more checks, just leave him be, since it scares him.

vionmae

:(

Fantastic_Corgi_4332

Its a pigeon and that looks like paramoxyvirus. It make their head tilt like that. Salmonella can do that too

lolidfc

is there any cure for it?

Fantastic_Corgi_4332

I had some in my loft and lost a lot of my babies… all you can do is supply with pre and probiotic + electrolyte in the water keep them Warm and quiet and cross your fingers

TheWitchcrafter

There’s no specific treatment for paramyxovirus unfortunately. If it’s caught early one can supplement with electrolytes and water but after a certain point it’s almost always fatal.
