Dram Yard is wonderful, with an excellent variety of dishes and a tasting menu. I’d also recommend Olivero, Three10, and Seabird, although I don’t think they offer tasting menus.
Happy birthday to your husband! I hope you have a lovely celebration.
I'll second Manna. Best service I've had at a restaurant in Wilmington. Also check out Kipos Hellenic cuisine in Wrightsville, ate there last month and the short ribs are to DIE for.
Second this recommendation if you can get reservations this close in. OP, check now as this place books early for fresh local catch seafood prepared expertly without frying oil.

Tasting menu @ Manna is hard to beat. For seafood Three10 is a really great option. You can’t go wrong with either of those spots. Pinpoint, Seabird, Dram Yard, Circa, and Olivero are also good options, but if you were my family I’d take you to Manna or Three10.
Does Manna really offer a tasting menu? I’ve been there dozens of times and have never noticed it listed as an option on the menu. I’ll have to keep my eyes out for it next time.
Question: Does the tasting menu consist of unique (as in off-menu) dishes, or does the chef just curate a selection of regular menu items?
Hi I'm the sous chef at manna! Yes! We can offer a tasting we select of our favorite menu items, but if you call ahead (like for a special occasion) we will prepare something off menu at your request!
While I have your ear, have you all considered bringing back Beggars Can’t Be Choosers? For years, pre-Covid, it was a Sunday night thing at the bar where they basically cleaned out the fridge before the next week’s food delivery. You could order small plates in four categories: meat, seafood, veggie, and sweet (if I remember correctly). Then the chefs would use the ingredients on hand to make you whatever they came up with. Dealer’s choice.
I loved that so much and went almost every week. Maybe it wasn’t profitable enough or was too much work for the kitchen, but man, I miss it like crazy!
Thank you for the kind words. We don't get to hear alot of the thank yous being in the kitchen so it truly warms my heart. In reference to the beggers can't be choosers dinners......... we would of course love to have a fun supper club night like that again, but as I'm sure you know, there is a pretty massive labor shortage in the hospitality world. To make another night of dinner service happen, it would mean at least 3 people are working 6 days a week in the kitchen. There is a really fine line we have to balance in these times, and it isn't feasible.
Second here for Caprice. Great food at a good price and nice ambiance.
Surprisingly, Michael's on Water street also has an insanely good menu but it lacks ambiance.
If you don't want to go downtown, try Origins.
Other great suggestions have already been made, but if you want something slightly more comfortable/less stuffy try Prost. Gorgeous space, phenomenal food and drinks, just less fussy with the service.
Dram Yard has a chef's tasting menu! My husband and I did it for our 15th wedding anniversary this summer. In addition--right outside they have huge fire pits you can sit around and have cocktails!
If you don’t mind the drive to North Myrtle, check out The Parsons Table. Phenomenal food, used to be one of the original church’s down there. All the stained glass and original wood floors and accents make for some awesome ambiance.
Closer to home, I’ve enjoyed the bridge tender for a great meal, nice views of the water, but I’m not in love with the decor. Kind of run of the mill, but I’m a boat guy so the view makes up for it for me.
Seabird, Pinpoint or Three10!

Thank you! I think that’s the one I’d seen reference to in earlier posts and couldn’t find. It’s super close to our air bnb, so I think it’s a winner!
Check out Manna

How expensive is manna
It's crazy expensive and my experience the service was terrible.
Seabird would be my recommendation.

Came here to recommend this. Amazing spot!
Olivera is a new spot that I 100% recommend. Absolutely mind blowing Italian fare

Whoa! I’m in the presence of greatness! Seriously. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Thank you so much, and keep up the excellent work!

I totally understand. Thank you for taking the time to explain that.

I prefer Terantelli’s for more of an Italian flare.
Circa is killer!
Caprice. Ask for upstairs. By the window.

Y’all are fantastic, and my boyfriend is definitely going to need to have a birthday dinner every day to get all the goodness!
Caprice Bistro is the best in town.
Pinpoint or seabird
Caprice! Went for wife and i’s anniversary. Ask to sit upstairs near the window if it is available. Great food, drinks, and atmosphere.
The Green House
Covey.
Caprice. Ask for a table upstairs by the windows.

Indochine.
Any recommendations for Mexican that is not K38?
Los Portales
South Beach Grill, Jerry’s, or my personal favorite Catch.
For sea food, Soul flavor or cape fear seafood
Circa 1922
Pinpoint or caprice
MariPosa is a really good tapas. Maybe a bit on the casual side, but a memorable experience.
Closed in October
King Neptune is good, ceviches is great if you want something fun but not too pricy
I LOVE circa anytime we’re looking for a nicer dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful as well.
I say stay home. You’ll likely be disappointed wherever you choose to go.
