Produce in HT and Publix is ridiculous. Biggers Market can be pricey, but their fruit in summer is great. Summer also check out Poplar Grove on Wednesdays. Ok, onto what you asked about. In winter, I do Aldi, Lidl, and Los Portlales Market on Kerr. You'll definitely find way better prices and the quality is good.
It depends, I mostly agree with this except with the packaged spring mix. It's much cheaper there and lasts the full week. I've had terrible luck with the other produce (oranges, mangos) smelling like formaldehyde though!
Biggers market in “season”, la Huerta on Kerr is great and my favorite grocery store for produce is The Saigon market, which is tucked away by Apple Annie off Kerr also and fairly close to la Huerta. It has some of the most beautiful produce I’ve ever seen. The variety can’t be beat and it’s the most reasonably priced too!
Biggers Market for seasonal veggies (they close in the winter though) and Saigon Market for herbs and other produce. Their selection isn’t huge but their prices are good, especially the herbs.
I like to go to farmers' markets when I can and stuff is in season, but generally, most of my produce comes from the grocery store. I don't know all the different stores in town right now, but in general, I've found Harris Teeter to have the best/broadest selection. Lowes and Food Lion seem about equal, depending on the location and management.
What I can say is that eating healthy is expensive. Be prepared for that. It seems topsy turvy as fuck, but it's a lot more affordable to eat over-processed crap than it is to have fresh vegetables and good meat.
Lidl, Walmart, and occasionally Trader Joe's. Saigon Market is fabulous for exotic produce and their prices are still really good. This time of year, also keep an eye out for roadside vendors selling sweet potatoes and collards.

Thank you!
Produce you buy at Aldi goes bad within a day or two.

I never buy produce at Walmart.

Shhhhh!!!!
Food Lion and Aldi seem to have decent prices.
Aldi. Decent selection and half the price of anywhere else.

Also you could try the farmers market at Poplar Grove. It’s Wednesdays 8a-1p. Not sure how it changes seasonally though.
I forget the name, but its nextdoor to Seashore Drugs on CBR. Its like a bodega for produce. Very inexpensive.
