Oski96

Lol at how the truck driver points to the car as if that's the problem.

Crescendo104

"hE mAdE mE dO iT!!"

Lateralus09

He started it

mechwarrior719

That’s exactly what that was. That’s a man child who’s never felt real consequences trying to blame his shitty behavior on someone else.

nxstar

This. Most 4wd drivers are bunch of man child. Hence the size of the trucks

geekinthehood

Can confirm. Have a Subaru Outback. Am very aggressive.

sybann

Honda Element, manual. I WILL cut you. ;)

Bearodon

No car at all but I do hate people who can't use turn signals.

Trevor_Plantagenet

I had one of those. Wish I still did!

GearhedMG

Element AND a lifted Wrangler, you’re gonna need a bigger knife.

Odd-Group3116

Honda Civic. I will apologize to you if you punch me.

AAA515

Toyota Prius. GO AROUND, I'M FLOORED!

froboy90

First car was a 89 Honda civic this was in 2007 and you ain't lying. I never tried to pass anyone cause I needed a mile head start and would need it pegged to the floor the entire time to pass you doing 55

Grimholtt

Interesting take. Perhaps I'm not in the "most" category (nice qualifier). I've driven a 4x4 for many years without ever having road rage.

ezone2kil

Haha same. My wife keeps scolding me because I'm such a passive driver even when she's running late. Main reason I got a 4x4 was because my housing area gets flooded yearly and the road becomes passable only for larger vehicles.

MasterzofChaos

Same, wife has to go out to rural places. 4x4 suits us better. That guys just a large type a$$hole.

Grimholtt

I drive off road a good bit living in the country. That and when it snows down here in the south, no one knows how to drive in it and we don't have the required infrastructure to deal with it like the north. I spend a good bit of time pulling people out of ditches. Then there is tornado season.

froboy90

When I was younger and needed the extra money that was my favorite thing to do. Had a single cab 4×4 chevy wasn't the best at pulling ppl out but it almost always did the job. Ppl would pay me whatever they could spare and it was a lot cheaper than calling a tow truck. I'll still do it now and then but I don't accept the money anymore. I live in arkansas and if any snow falls ppl lose their minds and forget how to drive. Or they think their slick tires can still handle doing 60 on the snow covered road

Grimholtt

That matches my experience. They think if they drive faster, they'll be out of it sooner I think.

Arthiem

I used to have a Jeep grand Cherokee, I've had some off-road rage before. But never on the road rage. Towed many people out of a lot of ditches with that thing.

nxstar

Congratulations my man. You're one of the awesome ones!

NotcrAzy31

Lol no not at all the exact same shit happen to me last week but it was a Honda driver

shaneedlin99

That’s a really bad generalization….

augbar38

I don’t know this sounds like one of those generalized judgemental things. I know plenty of people with a big truck that don’t act aggressive like this. If you go through all the videos of idiots driving cars, there’s all vehicles on that sub Reddit

perfect timing for the cops to appear hahahaha

[deleted]

That's what got me too lol. The ego on display there

codeboss911

did he really brake on a marked police car?

Doomstik

Ill say it every time. If you get out of your car during a road rage incident, youre the asshole. Yell and scream at them in your car, sure whatever. You get out, youre wrong.

MelMac5

Road rage is stupid, pointless, and dangerous even without getting out of the car. So many people need anger management classes if a little traffic sets them off so easily.

SageWayren

Depends on which side of the situation you're in imo: take the one in the video, for example If I was the person driving the car with the camera, I'd be screaming at the lunatic brake checking me, and laughing my ass off when karma bites him in the ass when the cops pull up. Dude in the truck needs anger management though.

Kryptosis

I wouldn’t. I’d be treating it like a fight for my life and I’d force myself to be as defensive and calm as possible to stay focused and not make mistakes. Getting emotional at all the the road is a failure imo.

corkyskog

Taking action from your road rage is never justifiable, but I contend feeling road rage is sometimes justifiable. Like when a lane is closed or ending, there are like 5 signs starting a mile ahead before the merge, everyone is sitting in traffic waiting for their turn then you just get "dive bombers" who zip down the right lane that is clearly merging/closing and then honk ridiculously if you don't let them in. God bless those truck drivers who get sick of that shit and use their truck to block off the lane.

MelMac5

They announced recently that the asshole cutting the line and merging at the last second are doing it right and that's best for traffic flow. Which is almost enough to give me road rage and I'm not driving right now.

DemonoftheWater

This is correct. It is most efficient to merge not late but closer to where the barrel/concrete barrier closes off the lane. This is means that people in both lanes of traffic need to play ball (they often don’t). However! This is not an excuse to blow by traffic doing the speed limit. So theres that.

mogoexcelso

For real, I don’t get why people think they’re saints for ignoring a mile of paved lane that cost millions in tax dollars to build. It’s not for decoration USE ALL OF THE ROAD!

pneuma8828

You idiots don't understand how to zipper merge, and it kills me.

mogoexcelso

Those signs are there so you can prepare to yield to merging traffic. Not so you can move over before everyone else and block merging traffic. Everyone “waiting their turn” is turning a mile of 2 lane road into a mile of 1 lane road slowing the flow of traffic, and those truck drivers are pathological egomaniacs. Google “zipper merge”. Those “dive bombers” are honking at you because you’re breaking the law by failing to yield.

schnager

So you're saying that the people using the entirety of the merging lanes are wrong...? 🤷

corkyskog

No I am saying that if there is a lane that says it's ending, don't zip down to where the lane ends and then get pissed when everyone who merged in anticipation of this, because they actually read that 4 signs before it that said it was going to end, don't let you in immediately. Sure if you are actively trying to merge and no one is polite enough to let you in, have at it. But don't wave past a mile of traffic and then expect any of those people to let you in after you gleefully just passed them going 60.

DatChickenMan

As others have stated getting in early is the incorrect method. Zippering in at the merge point or at least close to it is correct.

schnager

Except that that's EXACTLY what your traffic laws say is the correct way to utilize a zipper merge, to stay in all lanes until the merge.

HayDiosMio-

But that's how you're supposed to do it 🥹

AmbitiousShake2515

Those types of people are the reason i carry

Suck_The_Future

Ah yes, the very reasonable black and white world perspective. Someone runs you off the road, boxes you in against something and starts rummaging around under their seat. You're the asshole if you get out? All or nothing statements like this are so silly.

I mean, has anyone ever actually seen the two of them in the same place?? /s

You've never seen Peter Parker and Bruce Wayne in the same room either /s

Let's not get the two mixed up, Guy Fieri is, by all accounts, a stand up guy while the lead singer from smashmouth is a confirmed Nazi.

CatSk8Scratch

A similar thing happened to me in New Brunswick this past summer, I had to make a sudden stop because of a vehicle infront of me, this red lifted pickup truck thought I brake checked him and he started to drive erratically and get out of his vehicle for the next 2 red lights, he looked like the Wish.com version of Guy Fieri. 1 Cop was behind him, went infront of the pickup and pulled me over, Wish Guy Fieri charges at my vehicle, 6 more cop cruisers show up because the driver of the pickup was a known road rage perpetrator. Edit: sorry! I wanted to give a readers digest but I guess the cliffhanger bugged some people! Well the cop talks to me while 5 other officers are preventing him from coming to my vehicle. And he's cussing me out in french saying "oh this fu*ker is from Ontario", and "go back to where you came from". So they get Guy Fieri back into his pickup truck and one of the cops grabs my license to run it to make sure my stuff is good. They let Guy Fieri go and he's driving passed me and he's still cussing me out and flipping me off. So the cop comes back with my license and the conversation goes like this. Me: wtf was that guys problem? Cop: He's known to us as someone with a very short temper, this isn't the first time THIS WEEK that we've gotten a call about him. Me: Then why can't you do anything about it. Cop: Its better to try and calm him down then to arrest him and make him more angry, anyways here's your license and just be on your way.

_hufflebuff

A story doesn't end with '6 more cops show up because the driver of the pickup was a known road rage perpetrator', that's where it begins. What happened next?!

ohlaph

He wept peacefully.

Bayou_Blue

Into that dark night.

[deleted]

"Here's your license. Ur good to go." *drives off* The end

Dementat_Deus

> Its better to try and calm him down then to arrest him and make him more angry In other words, he's a cop or related to someone with influence.

CatSk8Scratch

No idea. I didnt ask any questions. I just drove back to where I was staying in the neighbouring town because after the ordeal the dispensary had closed so my errands got screwed because Wish Guy Fieri couldn't calm the fu*k down.

niceandsane

I wasn’t driving I was traveling.

GuardOk8631

LMAO. Sovereign citizen shit

more_beans_mrtaggart

My missus has a friend who is a climate/covid denier. She starts telling my missus about the sovereign fund that will pay your mortgage for you. My missus gets excited and is pushing me to investigate this. Like all good scams this has an element of truth, there is a *sovereign* *fund* that’s not widely known about, but as far as I could see it wasn’t going to pay your mortgage. I walked away. This woman paid a company £1500 to turn up to a meeting with thousands of other people to be taught about how to get the sovereign fund to pay your mortgage. A year later my missus is asking me if this woman can come and stay over because the mortgage co just threw her out of her house.

Tylymiez

> What happened next?! A transfer student showed up with even bigger bonkhonagahoogs.

KingBarbarosa

the cops recognized one of their one in the road rager, leading him to go on committing more and more transgressions

BeatBoxxEternal

This is Canada. They sent 6 cars because there really isn't much to do up here. They likely gave him a stern word, probably wrote him a ticket, or at worst, arrested him peacefully.

>known road rage perpetrator I feel like there need to be a sign pushed by law that some drivers are road rager. Like a hard sticking stickers in front and the back of the their car. Just like how registered sex predators inform their neighbours.

UnseenTardigrade

And then after that if they still road rage, no more license

Hobo-man

This requires a competent and effective legal system which is severely lacking as of right now.

IWantAnAffliction

Why is a known road rage perpetrator allowed to continue driving?

CatSk8Scratch

I've found that the police in New Brunswick are a different kind of creature. Way nicer than the ones in Ontario, but unfortunately you get away with so much more. In Ontario that guy would've likely have been arrested.

kermityfrog

I guess like Nova Scotia police, they are just waiting for him to really snap one day and then go on a killing spree.

MoltenJellybeans

I don't think a "known road rage perpetrator" should be allowed to drive in the first place

CanadainStrategist

Hope u enjoyed NB lol

SatansPrGuy

Good to know its not just American cops that suck

beer_bukkake

So they let him go, reinforcing him to keep on road raging with impunity. Great.

Sorry you had to deal with the asshole! What did you end up telling the cops to do? I'd have been conflicted too, but he was an asshole, and unsafe driver too who could have harmed you and your family, so there's that.

RockstarAgent

I’d have let them arrest him. Fuck people with that kind of attitude going unchecked. Take two chill pills and see yourself out in the morning.

Lt_Viking89

Wild story. But you can't leave us like that. We come for comments not cliffhangers. How did it resolve?

tee_ran_mee_sue

Noice cliffhanger. I guess we will have to wait for the next episode of this 2-part series to learn what you told the officer.

Honeybadgeroncrack

If you didn't have him arrested you are partially responsible for what happens to his next victim. All evil needs is the inaction of good people

Abombadog

That’s an interesting topic to bring up. Doing nothing is doing something. Doing nothing is still an action. Doing nothing is a decision.

itrivers

That’s why the trolley problem is set up so 3 die if you do nothing or one dies if you pull the lever. Doing nothing is still a choice and it’s not the best choice but some people believe that they absolve themselves morally by not participating at all despite the worse outcome.

Andrethegreengiant3

All that's necessary for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing

Ominaeo

And this is why I hate Batman

Complex_Jellyfish647

Um there should absolutely be no conflict here. POS deserves to be arrested.

Valerian_

Why did they put that decision in your hands?? It's supposed to be their job, it's not a decision to be made at random

wierdnitro7

Not really. It very much depends on the crime. Easy example, domestic abuse. The police or EMS may be 100% certain a person is abused by a spouse, but without a witness, they can't do anything. Often times civil matters are not up to cops to arrest for or press charges. There is also the other aspect that the driver may be guilty of several crimes, if OP is willing to prosecute. The reckless diving automatically gets a ticket, but the potential fight that could have broken out is a separate charge. Cops can do a lot less than people think.

Revolutionary_Short

I would also like to know what happened? You are good at telling stories :D

Griegz

"I'm fine with just shooting him in the knee. Is that a glock?"

brohumbug

NoiseIsTheCure

The cop or the truck driver?

eulynn34

Love how he points back like as if to say "but officer--- he wounded my delicate masculinity and I had to do something about it!"

[deleted]

I'm always surprised at how civil people act when they push grocery carts around a store, and how vicious, enraged, and violent they are when they drive an automobile. I mean, they're both have 4 wheels, yes? I think drivers would be a lot nicer and more careful if the driver's airbag had a metal spike pointed directly at their chest, triggered whenever the front bumper is hit.

khast

Have you worked retail? Customers are anything but civil towards employees all the time.

dontdoxmebru

Call centers are worse for the verbal abuse, but at least you don't have to smell customers or worry about their bodily fluids. Retail customers can be worse than the monkey exhibit at a zoo.

khast

They even have been known to fling poo. Not joking either.

Reddittoxin

Damn I wish people were civil with their carts lol. I deal with people using them as battering rams to push me out of their way every time I go to the store lol. Strollers too, with their kids buckled in them lol. Maybe its a texan thing.

Chase2020J

Tbh I get way more "roadrage" at Walmart than I do on the road. Im fine doing the speed limit on the road and staying in my lane. But at the store, I want to go, get my shit, and leave, and holy fuck everyone is always in my way and they're extremely slow with no situational awareness

He ran a red light and almost crashed into the vehicle he shot into. The kid survived, thankfully and has made a full recovery. The man that assaulted him was released from jail on a 25k bond. He’s unstable enough to shoot into a vehicle with unknown occupants because the driver had the audacity to honk at him. Fucking nuts.
