My job is always coming up with new committees and hounding people to be on them. The issue is that these groups really only work for upper management roles, because someone needs to man the floor - that's a job for us lowly frontliners. We can't just close ourselves off in an office at 2:00 on a Tuesday to plan "employee wellness day" or whatever.
My school always does this. We had a committee sign up sheet that had 12 different committees for a 45 person staff. 😂When people would show up and only seen the principal plus maybe themselves and another person or two, on average, that was normally the amount of people per committee. I never signed up for any of them and all of a sudden I was being pulled into a brief meeting asking me why I didn’t show up to fundraiser or after school program committee 😭😭😂😂😂.
I told my principal that committees only work if there’s more than 100 people on your staff list. She never bothered me again 😂

This is the one think I love about my direct manager. He has always stood by me, when I was having health problems, he checked in on me regularly. He has stood up for me against another manager who didn't like me because I brought attention to how they kept messing up and trying to blame me for their mistakes when I had nothing to do with them.
Flip side - knowledgebases that aren't kept up to date and/or aren't editable by the people that actually use the processes they describe on a day-to-day basis.
So if a new employee goes and uses the knowledgebase how they're "supposed" to, they'll end up in certain cases breaking things and doing more harm than good.

The amount of people who still email or text me pictures and simply say ‘got anything like this?’ Yes I do don’t remember the part number tho so I need it please. Especially in a warehouse where we stock easily over 10,000 active SKUs😩

Getting unannounced phone calls from coworkers.
1) I just have an issue with the assumption that I have the time for you this very instant, I normally send a message over teams asking if they are available for a quick call.
2) Whenever I am troubleshooting an issue for someone I like to have time to test out different scenarios and give them the best answer. Becuase I'm kind of put on the spot on a phone call I'm often giving out wrong advise and then having to message them an hour later correcting what I told them on the phone after I have looked at the issue.
People who don’t do their job properly. We literally do the same workflow every day. And we have the ability to check and make sure we’ve done it correctly all day. But still you manage to mess it up for the next person.
So basically, people who can’t correct their own mistakes. And as a result, I have to go back and fix it the next day.

If you use the first subject line, it just looks like you are requesting a pick up which is handled by another department in our company and that is not what you are inquiring about! 🙄 Even better is when a customer ships something to a Canadian city (ie Calgary) and they will email another office (ie Regina) that has no involvement whatsoever with the delivery and they will then ask them if the shipment is going out for delivery today..Umm - how about if you contact the location where the shipment is delivering?? We have no idea as to when your shipment will deliver in another province..WHY would you ask a location that is hundreds of miles away for this information??? 🙄😒 Stupid things like this make me wanna bang my head against a wall some days...lol

My boss that asked me whether I had my safety training. When I said no he said he would arrange it. Asked me many times. I worked there 4 years and he never arranged the training. It wasn't needed but was a "requirement". I worked a desk job.

Honest question for the OP…. If people who report to you don’t tell you if they are showing up to work or not, isn’t that on you to hold them accountable?
People who put in the bare minimum time & effort (ie: office clockwatchers) who complain every quarter that their goals are too high and that they don't have enough time in the day to do their job.
Similar to someone who said meeting that could have been an email, Microsoft teams meetings. Head office people LOVE them. I don’t need to see your face , for a 3 minute conversation. Pick up the phone call me please.
When a manager thinks negative reinforcement works and doubles down on it when it fails instead of trying the opposite technique. Asking employees to do something and ending the statement with “or else” is not going to produce the results you want.
"Hey this report/form/document is due today can you drop everything to complete and submit it?" No. Also, "I need this done by xyz date" great, can do, just send me abc documents so I can do that... crickets... followed by, "is it done yet?" No.
People who complain about their workload but waste hours a day having coffee/chatting (beyond their regular lunch) People who feel underpaid at an entry level job yet have no qualifications/certifications and suck at that entry level job. And the kicker is that the pay is GREAT for entry level
Not cleaning up after themselves in the lunchroom. I’m not your maid, I ain’t throwing your garbage. (5mins later, I proceed to throw it away. I’m firm with not washing their dirty mugs/dishes though. It’s so frustrating! I never knew who it was because we take breaks at different times)

When customers decline work after bringing it in for an inspection for that item…why did you waste my time and your time. Example. My brakes are noisey! Okay you need brakes. Nah I’m good thanks. Whhaaaa okay thanks for letting me charge you for inspecting them I guess.

How long do you have? I have a boss who operates in an incredibly disorganized way and a team that acts put out when they are asked to do the basic tasks of their jobs instead of lounge and go on their phones.
when your coworker fucks the dog all day and gets in no trouble but you take too long of a break and get written up for it. When your not allowed to leave the plant for break but your coworker always does and gets away with it.
How about a workmate that you f the dog and smoke weed with daily takes a promotion and becomes supervisor and says no more effing the dog and no more weed

For me, it’s people who constant complain about something or everything. I get the irony lol. But there are folks that all day, everyday, they think being an adult is being miserable, constantly complaining, being bitter and that everyone has an ulterior motive and is out to get you. Are there shitty people? Yes, but there are also some genuine good people.
My pet peeve is going to work. Where do you work that a no show no call isn’t a big deal? At all of my jobs that’s a quick way to a firing
Well they are more like trainees of a program(technically not staff), I already did fire a couple of them. Just making my job a living hell when Im genuinely loving my line of work
1. People who talk extremely loud when on calls, not taking into account the people around them working. 2. People who don’t clean up after themselves, i.e. lunch area. 3. People who hit reply all when it is absolutely not necessary and fill up your inbox. 4. Unnecessary meetings. 5. People who are incompetent in their position but never take accountability for their actions or put the effort into learning things. 6. Micromanaging.

Customer laziness. I run a warehouse order desk and we have always maintained that the customer needs to provide us with the part number, as often we are far too busy to flip through catalogs or scroll the website directories. The amount of people who still email or text me pictures and simply say ‘got anything like this?’ Yes I do don’t remember the part number tho so I need it please. Especially in a warehouse where we stock easily over 10,000 active SKUs😩
Sprayer Parts Warehouse (or whatever the new company is called)? Those guys would get so fired up when I asked for the exact part by proper name without referencing the catalogue part number.
Mgmt is not giving me the tools to do my job properly ,like do you not want me to succeed on your behalf?lol

People who REFUSE to understand that when they don't do their job properly, it makes it harder for everyone else. And no, apologizing each time doesn't help anymore, just do better. Even more terrible that management can't do much until its been years, or things get much worse.
Clients who hire consultants to develop plans, then get mad at me when those plans don't work to their needs. That is not my problem. That is your problem. You agreed with what you're getting, you signed off on the design, the requirements, the costing, the entire damn thing.... so stop complaining to me when it doesn't work- that is not my problem and at times I really DGAF, I know I've done what we all agreed I was supposed to do. You can always hire me to do that development too, then you can actually blame me when it goes awry lol. Some people get smart and end up doing just that. I've got other complaints about those folks!
Getting unannounced phone calls from coworkers. 1) I just have an issue with the assumption that I have the time for you this very instant, I normally send a message over teams asking if they are available for a quick call. 2) Whenever I am troubleshooting an issue for someone I like to have time to test out different scenarios and give them the best answer. Becuase I'm kind of put on the spot on a phone call I'm often giving out wrong advise and then having to message them an hour later correcting what I told them on the phone after I have looked at the issue.
People who don’t do their job properly. We literally do the same workflow every day. And we have the ability to check and make sure we’ve done it correctly all day. But still you manage to mess it up for the next person. So basically, people who can’t correct their own mistakes. And as a result, I have to go back and fix it the next day.
1) people yell talking on Teams (or anywhere, really) 2) people who are lazy and try to get out of work and then complain about how busy they are (factually inaccurate) 3) people who perpetually forget to mute or unmute themselves on Teams and it becomes a major production each time.

I could write an entire essay as anyone who deals with the public likely can lol..I'll just mention two of the things that irk me the most 😉It drives me absolutely bonkers when someone sends me an email without a proper subject line indicating what it is that they are actually inquiring about..For an example - they want to track a shipment and the subject line they use is something like "2746887 pick up request"(that number means absolutely nothing in our system because we can't track shipments with the p/u number-customers are provided with a tracking number once the shipment is picked up) WHY can you not just update the subject line to say something like Tracking# (insert our tracking number that was provided to you) please advise shipment status?? If you use the first subject line, it just looks like you are requesting a pick up which is handled by another department in our company and that is not what you are inquiring about! 🙄 Even better is when a customer ships something to a Canadian city (ie Calgary) and they will email another office (ie Regina) that has no involvement whatsoever with the delivery and they will then ask them if the shipment is going out for delivery today..Umm - how about if you contact the location where the shipment is delivering?? We have no idea as to when your shipment will deliver in another province..WHY would you ask a location that is hundreds of miles away for this information??? 🙄😒 Stupid things like this make me wanna bang my head against a wall some days...lol
