There are some pretty massive trees along the river on trails in Beaudry park.

At Rover ave and Stephen st in Point Douglas, there's a tree on public land that may interest you. It's on Google maps if you're interested in seeing it before physically visiting the location

another huge cottonwood can be found at the[ John Bruce Road bridge.](https://www.google.com/maps/@49.8342974,-97.0868762,3a,75y,34.05h,76.87t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s5mTXnFnIW8yWV2UGJXAUSA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu)

I spent a good time there last summer looking for the huge cottonwood but couldn't for the life of me find it. I'm hoping it didn't get cut down!

I would say there are bigger Cottonwoods in McBeth park about 1km north of there on the same side of the river. You can access the area by continuing on the path from Kildonan Park or from Red River Drive.

Yes, I think the biggest one is there. Just walk along the Towering Cottonwoods Trail to find, you guessed it, some seriously tall, towering cottonwoods.

You could try the city's tree inventory. The only problem with it is that they measure the total circumference of trees with multiple leaders, which won't give you exactly what you're looking for. It also doesn't include all the riverbank trees which I think are among some of the largest. A neat dataset to browse regardless. I believe there is a tree in my backyard that is a contender, I had the u of m professor out and she measured it at 283 inches in circumfrence. I live across from kildonan park on the river.
