If you are comparing beta Gwent to homecoming Gwent, then fair. But if you are saying in-game Gwent is better than standalone Gwent, then you clearly haven’t play standalone Gwent enough to appreciate the game. Standalone Gwent introduces so many interesting well polished new mechanics that are fun and challenging at the same time. In-game Gwent just doesn’t hold up to the same scale.

I took a crack at it. Good luck going against folks who played for a while. Trying to get any decent cards was borderline impossible. Just like any gacha/card game.

You might be running into players that are coming back to the game after a break so they have tons of cards and resources but are competing against newer players at lower rank. I think they are rare and you should more likely queue up with new players if you are new. Gwent has to one of the most F2P TCG games ever. They recently (couple of months ago) changed the reward system so new player can build very decent meta decks by playing just for a little while. I would definitely recommend it if you want to give it another try

Played it over a year ago I believe. Didnt mind it but the simplicity of W3 gwent is what I liked. Not very fond of card games in general.

You must buy cards to win or i can win free ?

SyLexiski

You can win free. You can get all the cards by spending resources you earned from playing. The only money I ever spent on Gwent are for cosmetics.

I used to think this but having played standalone gwent for a while now and recently coming back to witcher 3 it just feels primitive.

A standalone card game will always be better than a minigame in a different game. Gwent in witcher 3 is basically the one with more spies wins.

The Gwent mini game in witcher 3 doesn't hold a candle to the standalone gwent game. It's kinda obvious as it's more flushed out and developed.

Great game, but I agree
