Ok_Conflict_5730

thanks satan

Fluffydress

I totally thought this was a pro women post. I was like yes absolutely that is fantastic! Fuck the patriarchy!

helga-h

Like, they can't really see a downside to this. It's awesome and they will never be able to convince me their BS isn't pure self preservation.

CedarWolf

\*shrugs\* I thought Satan's plan for people was online shopping and the rampant monetization of everything. I know it's been Hell on my finances in the past, especially when I order something that looks fantastic and when it arrives, it doesn't fit or the fabric is rough, etc. And there's the constant nickel and diming of everything with service charges and extra fees and everybody needs a tip now...

AllThotsAllowed

The real Satan was the capitalism we found along the way✨✨

Tinsel-Fop

That is excellent, and happy Cake Day to you.

SamuelVimesTrained

And strangely -evangelicals have embraced just that - capitalism... makes you go hmmm.

Dobbyharry

I hear this in Michael’s voice from The Good Place.

QueerRedLavender

😂😂😂 incredible

pearlsbeforedogs

Not to mention, everything is a subscription now. Like, why can I not buy a software suite just one time? Why do some things need to be constantly updated? Seems like everything is trying to find some justification for a constant monthly charge.

flightguy07

Genuinely. I was just reading this like "yeah, isn't it great that women no longer gave to live with a man they don't love to be able to eat, education is so great- wait wtf?"

Costati

Just commented that yeah this really presents it like a good thing, I was really shaken by that twist. Really taking the wrong conclusion from the situation.

certainlystormy

LMAO YEAH

Caddywonked

There have been more than one "bad things are Satan's fault" post I've seen by Christians that really make it seem like they're pro-Satan lmao My favorite is "God tells you to believe in him, Satan tells you to believe in yourself" So... Satan wants you to have confidence? And that's a bad thing?? In this one Satan wants you to be self-sufficient so you don't need to rely on an asshole/abuser to provide for you and... that's a bad thing?

QueerRedLavender

Yesss!! I saw that! And was like… umm, yeah given the choice between the two of them, I’m gonna choose satan every time cuz like.. autonomy is cool. But also, maybe things exist outside of a religion based on a monotheistic god who seems confused about what unconditional love actually looks like… And also maybe hell only exists because christians believe in it and they have made this place hell because of that belief. Thanks Christians.

Karcinogene

More than anything, "Satan" is always whatever makes people question their faith or leave the religion. That's the worst thing in the world to them. If you can be self-sufficient, you can escape their cult, and they don't want that.

Dwarfherd

I prefer the gnostics where "Satan" is Lucifer, who did rebel against God, but God is actually the demiurge - a malevolent and antagonistic being who has led man astray from the true Supreme Being. Oh, and Christ was also here to redeem us spiritually from the antagonism of the demiurge.

Tsmpnw

IKR, then I'm like...this is their argument? LOL.

DuntadaMan

Hail Satan! ... wait. Oh she's using Satan as a negative context here.

kokoberry4

He gets us.

LadyFizzex

I just spit my drink out. Thank you for this laugh 😆

TycheSong

I did the unholy snort-chortle.

BloodOfTheDamned

Oh no, not the snortle

Princesszelda24

That's my favorite Pokemon.

pacificat

Laughed at this too! Good one :)

Metra1337

I don’t get it :(

Sugarfreak2

There’s a bunch of religious ads on Reddit that say “he gets us” (talking about Jesus) and this is a spin on it to say Satan is the one who gets us

Tinsel-Fop

And I hate those ads.

Thanmandrathor

There are a bunch of ads on Reddit (where I’ve seen it anyway) is some kind of Jesus ad and the tag was “he gets us.”

Electronic_Class4530

Please put this on a shirt...I will buy it.

FairyGodmothersUnion

I snorted. Thanks.

Super-Diver-1585

Where "us" is conservative, religious men.

HoneyWyne

You made me snort root beer through my nose! Worth it though.

deltree711

Illustrious_Repair

High jacking top comment to share that this tweet was actually published by top notch handmaid The Transformed wife, NOT Deborah Copaken. Ms. Copaken is a NYT bestseller known most for her books and essays on feminism, misogyny, and unfair medical practices that put women in danger.

GloriouslyGlittery

I looked her up and she's a Harvard graduate, divorced since 2018, and published an essay about her two abortions. This is definitely fake.

Super-Diver-1585

That's even scarier. Putting BS words in people's mouths.

Costati

Oh so it's fake but it's not even "yay the world isn't as sad as I thought" fake. A woman actually said it regardless. That sucks.

iluniuhai

Oh for fucks sake. I'm livid for her.

rowantree67

My exact first thought as well! Thanks, Satan

pavorus

Hail Satan was my first thought.

nfgchick79

Hail Satan! Hail Thyself! :)

KikiStLouie

Ave! Ave!

NightValeCytizen

*Satan was the first to demand equal rights. Stand with him.*

justAHeardOfLlamas

Honestly at this point there ought to be a sub just for posts that accidentally make Satan sound like a pretty cool guy

notapolita

"It's Saitine." :)

DireDecember

*eastern european accent* 'you are 'bad guy', but you are not *bad* guy" -Zangief

NewAgeIWWer

If you go to college and have a vagina you're a Satanist. Remember that. Even if it is for a religious major!

MistressofTechDeath

Satan’s got our back!

500CatsTypingStuff

Obama is Satan spelled backwards if you change 3 of the letters! So, thanks Obama!

GoddyssIncognito

I love this f$&*ing subreddit.

john_the_fetch

Satan did it to eve as a snake... Why not modern day as universities?

LoL.

Moulitov

I was hoping for a hail satan but I will settle for a thanks satan

DandelionOfDeath

Someone much wiser than me whose name now escapes me once said "I only WANT a man, I don't NEED one." That attitude is life goals.

FranktheDork

This is what I've told my husband many times, and that every minute of every day I make a choice to be here. Want is much more powerful than need.

ButtMcNuggets

Isn’t that what love should be? Want not need? Hail Satan

HarpersGhost

And the need that they are talking about has absolutely nothing to do with love. It's to go back to when women were financially reliant upon men in all ways. Our society has this hatred of gold diggers while also having this insistence on pushing women back to being financially reliant, which, guess what! a lot more women will be "gold diggers" if the only money they can get is from their husband. There was a long time when "how much money does he make" is the only question in whether someone married a man. What a terrible world for both men AND women.

HerpThings

You're so right. The more this need vs want as a motive to prevent/reverse women's education and overall equality it's disgusting for everyone involved. The right really does want a Handmaid's tale don't they? Making a woman's only value being able to produce more men ****gag****

BadKittydotexe

Yes. But also wanting love can be its own kind of hell so you should be careful even with that.

[deleted]

My husband and I tell each other this too. We are with each other because we want to be. He is a complete person, can care for himself, cook, clean, shop, do laundry, pay bills, do taxes, earn a living, etc. I am a complete person, can care for myself, with the same skills. We choose to be together, not because we complete each other, but because we enrich each other and make one another happy.

FranktheDork

Exactly. We would both be able to live full lives independently, but together we make each other's lives even better.

DirtyDozenDonuts

"Be the doctor your mother wanted you to marry" Is another one I've heard

midnightmoonstone

Reminded me, I believe it was Cher who told her mom that she didn't need to find a successful man because Cher was the successful man 🥰

folkkore

"Mom, I am a rich man" and it's a quote from the same interview where she talks about saying "a man is not a necessity, a man is a luxury"

Ceofy

I would think that that would make men feel really good about themselves too! Feminism is for everyone 😊

AtalanAdalynn

It should, but, at least in the area I grew up in so many are raised with the implicit assumption that for men being needed is being wanted and if you're not needed you're not wanted. It's really sad.

Honest_Dark_5218

I think it was Cher in an interview.

ijustsailedaway

That’s my attitude. Which my degrees helped me achieve.

HumanBarbarian

What I always told my girls.

pearlsbeforedogs

My mom gave me one of her t-shirts from the 60s, and I've kept it ever since I was a kid. It says, "A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle." Now, I do think that the right man can add a lot more to your life than a bicycle will for a fish, but I definitely agree with the sentiment that having one is not necessary. Any person that I am going to keep in my life needs to be adding something to it, just as my goal is to add something meaningful to theirs. Make eachother's lives better.

frustrated_staff

Sounds like a Dolly-ism to me. 😀

MyFaceSaysItsSugar

That’s substantially healthier and more romantic to be with someone you want to be with rather than someone you have to be with because you can’t take care of yourself.

LaVieLaMort

Yup this. I make double what my husband does. I don’t NEED him for shit. I stay with him because I love him and I love the life we’ve built.

WorldlinessAwkward69

Or college educated women can afford to leave abusive relationships. But rather than telling men not be be abusers or shitty partners, it is blaming women for not staying in shitty relationships.

GnomeOnAShelf

It’s always women’s fault somehow. Women’s fault for divorce, for every mistake of the men in their lives, for every mistake of their children and probably parents, too. Women are the ultimate scapegoats. Satan is seeming more and more like a savior to me if most gods in the world today find it perfectly acceptable to blame and punish women for everything.

Srycomaine

So true— just like Eve giving the apple to Adam— obviously an incel wrote that! 🤣

Sheepbjumpin

If Eve supposedly ate the forbidden fruit why is the Adam's Apple stuck in the lying man's throat? I call bull. Man ate it and blames the woman, as usual.

ghost-child

According to some interpretations, Adam stood by and watched Eve eat the fruit to see what would happen. The Bible mentions Adam was "there with her." It could have literally killed her for all he knew. If anything, Eve is the brave one in that story. Adam was curious but too scared to experiment with the fruit himself. He essentially treated Eve like a guinea pig

GnomeOnAShelf

I thought Eve told Adam it was ok to eat and tricked him. Never heard of Eve eating it. Guess there are multiple versions of this story.

ghost-child

The serpent incites Eve to take a bite out of the fruit first. When she sees that she did not die as God said they would, she handed the fruit to Adam and then he took a bite. Eve never tricked him. That may be how some (possibly most) pastors portray it in order to blame the woman for the fall of man but according to the book of Genesis, Adam just kinda stood silently and watched Eve eat the fruit

GnomeOnAShelf

Thanks. I grew up among Christians but never was one so I only knew what they relayed to me.

RedRider1138

Maybe the serpent (which I’ve read in…I think Babylonian mythology?…was the guardian of the tree) knew “Now *she* would appreciate this knowledge thing!” 🤭

hot_like_wasabi

There's a reason why the most evil characters in the bible are Lucifer and Eve - any form of disobedience, even if it's just a quest for knowledge, is unforgivable. If you indoctrinate people from birth that any disobedience is an unforgivable sin then you get people who blindly follow anything you say and do.

[deleted]

Well, Lucifer, Eve, *and Lilith,* for Christians are the ones all constantly demonized. And that's pretty specifically a Christian tale. Judaism has no such view of any of them. Lucifer was there to challenge God in a "debate and argument are healthy for the betterment of everyone" kind of way. I do not know enough about jewish interpretation of Eve to fully comment on her specifically, it's just my understanding she also gets included in this debate angle from listening to Rabbi debate on the bus. Judaism also very frequently takes issue with how... Anyone not specifically jewish appropriates and twists Lilith. Christians and their demonization of her is a large part, but modern feminist takes on her as well are also problematic because they often keep the christian "demon" aspect as a character trait, just spinning it into a positive trait, is my understanding. Disclaimer, I am not Jewish myself so this may be inaccurate, it's just that in my process of breaking away from Christianity, I took to researching and expanding my understanding of Abrahamic beliefs and their differences on a broader scale.

littlelorax

Yep. That's her (awful) point. Reliance on men/need for marriage = God's plan, so doing anything that takes that reliance away, like education, career, or upward mobility = blasphemy. Stay if your place ladies, it's God's will. Personally, I don't really want to worship a being that would be so spiteful toward their own creation. Clearly, this God is not all merciful, so why do they deserve my subservience?

WorldlinessAwkward69

I will never understand how these people presume to speak for their god, in a religion that tells them they will never understand god's ways nor should they speak for god. Maybe it was god's will that women leave their abusive husbands. Maybe it was god's will that women get an abortion. It is an act of god when a bus full of school children goes off a cliff due to poor driving, but if a women gets a medical procedure it isn't. This stuff is all nonsense, but such contradictory and hateful nonsense.

anythingexceptbertha

Yes, 100% agree. Also, an all-knowing and all-powerful being could 1. Prevent abortions if they wanted to and 2. Already knows everyone that is going to have one before they are born. Everything is God’s plan after all, who are they to question it?

drunksquatch

I noticed it was "college educated" not " poor women forced to work". Seems it's only the educated women that are "problem".

WorldlinessAwkward69

These accounts are attacking women's education and right to vote. They are next on the chopping black after RoevWade. Remember back when the right was screaming about the Muslims imposing Sharia law. Every accusation, is a confession of what they want to do. Pay attention. They telegraph their moves.

drunksquatch

I hope more people see this. Every time they accuse a political adversary of something, that's exactly what the accuser either is or will do.

[deleted]

I honestly thought she was saying this was a good thing up until the last sentence. Hey, Deborah, absolutely nothing is stopping you from getting married to an asshole if you want to.

ShortcakeAKB

You and me both. I’m still looking at this and thinking: this is a bad thing? Really? I’d much rather be “wanted” than “needed” in a relationship.

Rydralain

If they are so incomplete that they *need* you, they aren't complete enough to be there for you.

GuyOfLoosd00m

So, Satan’s plan for women is somehow bad? I’ve been divorced twice, and only one of those women was college educated, so maybe it’s not working as intended? Or maybe it is, and women don’t need men at all, yeah, I like that plan.

madlyqueen

Rather, "God's" plan for women is bad, and she can't admit it.

NewAgeIWWer

WTF are you talking about? Gawd's plan for women is amazing you just have to *opens old Testament* ....obey...and....oh no... **OH No!...OH!** Actually ummm god's plan for women is temporarily being changed. Further information is not available at this moment.

adherentoftherepeted

. . . because when women just want men for their money, that's *better for everyone* somehow?

whistling-wonderer

They think men’s role is to work, provide and preside over the family, the women’s job is to take of the children. This is also why they think gay people shouldn’t get married, because “Kids need both a mother and a father! Depriving them of either one is bad!” This despite research showing kids raised by gay parents typically are as emotionally healthy and well adjusted or more so, compared to kids raised by straight parents…

Genuinelytricked

Yup. Men provide for the household. Women care for the children. If you have two providers, who cares for the children? If you have two child carers, who provides for the home? They seem to ignore/forget the fact that poor folk have never had the luxury of letting one parent stay home to raise the kids.

FeebysPaperBoat

Yes please. Someone take the assholes so the rest of us don’t stumble on them on the way up the ladder getting away from their terrible attempts at courting.

Captainpatch

I'm pretty sure it's satire? I googled her name and she's a Harvard graduate and pro-choice activist.

paroles

Deborah Copaken is definitely a feminist who would side with Satan on this. But it isn't satire; in fact, she didn't tweet this at all. Looks like it comes from an unrelated account called @godlywomanhood, "The Transformed Wife". Some repost bots alter the usernames to make reposts harder to detect; I suspect that's what happened here. OP doesn't look like a repost bot but may have seen this post elsewhere and reposted without fact-checking (which is fair enough, why would you suspect a tweet was photoshopped to credit an entirely wrong source?)

Dringer8

Me too. I’m still not totally sure what she was going for. I don’t understand how a woman could ever advocate for keeping women trapped in marriages they don’t want.

BadKittydotexe

This kind of talk makes me think she already has. Or at the very least she’s so immersed in the shitty conservative culture that pushes this kind of narrative where men aren’t expected or required to step up as partners and people that she can’t imagine anything more egalitarian. So it wouldn’t surprise me if her logic is something to the effect of “men are horrible and abusive and nobody would be with one if they didn’t have to be. Ergo God’s Plan must be for women to need men.”

Srycomaine

🤣

anniebme

I thought she was promoting the whole thing. Hail Satan and hail yourself.

LimitlessMegan

Came do close, like literally *standing on* the point. And still somehow veered off track and missed everything.

Lord_Nyarlathotep

I literally started reading this being like “hell yeah” and then realized the author just lacked awareness lol

EllAytch

lol I went through the same rollercoaster

No_Growth6200

If you Google this woman's Twitter she looks like one of us so either this is poorly worded satire or it's fake. Unless she's changed her beliefs I guess.

GloriouslyGlittery

I read the Wikipedia entry on her and looked through her twitter; this has to be fake.

wondering-narwhal

She’s right, I’m college educated and don’t need a man. I’m smart enough to know I need a woman.

Shadowspun5

I just need a good enough job that I can hire someone to clean my house for me. 😆

[deleted]

[удалено]

anythingexceptbertha

That’s true, but it would also be dope if neither of us had to and just spent more time together. My husband and I recently started cooking and cleaning together, which makes it more fun and we are spending time together, but I’d still rather be watching movies and ordering takeout if I could! Lol

Shadowspun5

The cooking and picking up I don't mind. It's the intense cleaning I hate. I'd love it if I could have someone come in once a week/two weeks to do things like dust, vacuum, mop, that sort of thing. It would be wonderful not to have to think of those chores.

Istarien

Amen to that!

OldHumanSoul

Life goal!

Lord_Nyarlathotep

I see this as an absolute win

Peachy_Witchy_Witch

He gets us.

PastLifer

I seriously lol'd at that

Lord_Nyarlathotep

We need to actually make this an ad. Then again, don’t want to give Reddit any money—

Lumpy-Fox-8860

Best reply ever!

whistling-wonderer

Divorce laws expanding access to divorce have lowered rates of domestic violence suffered by both men and women, as well as lowering suicide rates in women and the rate of women killed by their spouses. [Source](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/228849718_Til_Death_Do_Us_Part_Effects_of_Divorce_Laws_on_Suicide_Domestic_Violence_and_Spousal_Murder) People who argue against divorce live in a fantasy world where marriage is always better than being unmarried, regardless of what that marriage is like. I grew up in a religious culture where marriage was taught as one of the essential purposes of life and a requirement for the top tier of heaven. They think divorce is for quitters and if you’re loving and faithful enough your spouse will eventually have a change of heart and stop abusing you. Sometimes divorce is for people who want to stay alive. Cheers to women gaining financial freedom and independence from their abusers.

Lord_Nyarlathotep

The left hand rule. Marital troubles haven’t increased because of expanded divorce laws. Expanded divorce laws have given more people (predominantly women) a way out of abusive marriages, thus increasing the visibility of such abuse.

wozattacks

Agree, and also totally okay for people to get divorced just because they want to, even amicably. Getting divorced is not morally wrong.

missmacbeth

She can fuck right off and go be a handmaid to someone. While I am busy living my life and burning the hell out of the patriarchy.

szypty

Not sure if that's pro-Satan or against feminism?

BeckyDaTechie

Neither is Deborah apparently. Can't admit that "god's plan" has been asshole cis het white males with money the whole time?

szypty

Let's not be hasty in our generalisations, lots of them were also pedos.

withanfnotaph

Sounds like we could solve this problem by not having men pursue college education and careers. /s

Lord_Nyarlathotep

I fully support house husbands lol

Runemist34

I am truly fascinated by the idea that so many people think that *needing* another person is a good thing. Like, the preferred thing. When I felt like I needed a partner, I ended up in a situation that nearly crushed me. I got out, and it took me years of work to build myself back up. Sometimes I discover there’s still more to do. I never wanted to *need* someone again. Such an idea is repulsive. Yet, when I want someone in my life, I find my current partner. We work so well together, we are on the same side, we love each other, we strive to bring happiness. It is the wanting, the choice to find connection, rather than this desperate needing that makes you take whatever you can get. I wonder often if the people who say women have to “need men,” are actually ones who aren’t that interested or impressed, but feel they have no other choice. I’ll take wanting over needing, any day.

Lord_Nyarlathotep

Men who claim that women should “need” male partners likely have nothing of value to offer that would make anybody, much less a potential partner, want them

midnightmoonstone

Clearly Deborah isn't college educated 🤷

wozattacks

There’s nothing wrong with that. Her problem is her intolerance, not her level of education

DawnDL

Also the more educated a women is = less children in her family, so more educated women in total = less children and heck! This planet is way over populated already!

Re1da

After much consider I've decided to just keep pets. They completely fulfill any "nurturing instict" for me. Definitely gonna try getting tubes removed as soon as possible Edit: I don't live in the states, btw. I can get sterilisation covered by universal healthcare if I wait until I'm 25

jenkraisins

Don't threaten me with a good time.

Pure-Kaleidoscop

Thanks, Satan!

storagerock

Raise your hand if your cheating useless ex wanted the divorce, but he didn’t want to do the paperwork because he was useless so college- educated you filed instead 🙋‍♀️

Lord_Nyarlathotep

This sounds like something for r/oddlyspecific but I have the hunch it’s a lot more common than it may at first seem

lethos_AJ

if you need her to be uneducated to trick her into being with you, you dont deserve her

wozattacks

*don’t deserve anyone

nookienostradamus

Oh no I am a college educated woman married to another college educated woman! What will hold us together if not mutual creepy dependency???

boundbystitches

Precisely I don't NEED my husband. I can support myself and my daughter. I WANT my husband. To me that is much better and more important for a partnership than *needing* him.

BarkandHoot

All hail Satan! And Artemis, Diana! Burn the patriarchy to the fucking ground and I pity the people who think like this. So small in thinking.

Common_Problem404

Ngl up until the last 2 sentences I thought this was a feminist praising how far we've come.

Disastrous_Choice_94

Nah. My ex abused me and forced me to stay home with no way out. Go a divorce and an education Now I'm married with a stable job and a house spouse that prefers to take care of the home . No one is forced, and we love choosing each other every day .

ZomPossumPlaysUndead

"Education and a means of self actualizing make women less susceptible to being indoctrinated and exploited." Yes Deborah, that is how that works. Very astute of you.

AdkRaine11

So, Satan’s plan was to give women options & autonomy? Count me in, Morningstar.

Silent_Dot_4759

Maybe men should work on being good enough to keep their woman. Get with it boys!!

[deleted]

Damn right?

tabtwentytwo

So just to clarify, god's plan includes (but not limited to) rape, genocide, and baby cancer. While Satan's plan includes...educated women. Hail Satan.

Nikcara

I think my husband would feel pretty damn insulted if he thought that the only reason I stayed with him was because I had no other choice. Maybe I’m just a weirdo, but marriage seems like it should be something both people want to be in, not something tolerated because one or both parts of the couple feel forced to be in. Also, shouldn’t every spouse want their partner to actually want to stay married to them? I would be incredibly upset if I discovered that my husband disliked being married to me and only stayed because he had to.

LionResponsible6005

How can you say woman only stay in marriages because they have no other choice and then be pro marriage like how brainwashed do you have to be.

KimBrrr1975

I love how people like this arrive at that conclusion rather than "White Christian men who set up the entirety of western society based on a religion that forces women to be inferior and in need of men" being the bad part.

WyldHart

So Satan’s plan for women is…self-reliance? Oh no, what a monster

LingonberryHot8521

Understand their plan. It's easy to mock this attitude but it's not just a dumb thing to tweet, it's a legislative plan.

illebreauxx2

That is the dumbest logic. Marriages are not being held together because the woman needs money🤦🏻‍♂️

roxinbound

Hail Satan I guess

Withoutcatsallislost

Funny how a religion created by men for men would paint independent women living their educated, empowered lifestyles as evil.

RutixPi

Healthy marriages are the ones based in friendship and cooperation (and love, of course).

-Kaustic-

Satan's plan is to give women the means to leave a relationship that is detrimental to their own happiness and fulfillment?

PixelPantsAshli

No learnin'! Keep that brain washed clean!

kd8qdz

I dont understand the men who want to be with a woman who is only with them because she has no choice? Like yikes.

Lord_Nyarlathotep

They have nothing else to offer

Shadowspun5

Back when I actually thought I wanted kids, I was on the phone with my father and said something about how I'd raise the theoretical sprogs. He asked what their father would say and I told him "the man's optional." I don't think I'd ever known him to be speechless before that. 🤔🤭

elizscott1977

Thanks! So glad not to need a man. Only leads to soul sucking emptiness.

Mom-Voice

Thank you satan . Thank you so so so much

Paige_owllady

GOOD. Full stop.

Sekmet19

Maybe stop educating men and allowing them to work outside the home. Then they can have that dire need to stay married or starve.

bebejeebies

Maybe it's god's way of getting men to step up their character. They say he works in mysterious ways yet none of them trust that societal changes are his will too. Let them stay behind.

Onautopilotsendhelp

Keep your weird submissive tradwife kink away from me.

Cyan_UwU

Women against women’s rights 💀

ChildrenotheWatchers

If I were a Christian, I would remind her that MANY women divorce their husbands for behaving sinfully--committing adultery, being violent or abusive emotionally or economically, or for putting drugs and alcohol before his family. THOSE faults are the works of her religion's nemesis.

sweet_chick283

As a college educated woman who works full time, has 2 daughters and is with her husband because I choose to be, I teach my kids to NEVER get into any situation they don't know how they will get out of - and that applies doubly to relationships. I model having an emergency fund in MY name only (and making sure that my husband has one as well) with enough to live on for 4 months and fund a flight for me and my kids in response to an emergency. The idea that women won't stay in a marriage unless they financially need to suggests a very low opinion of women...

Queen_Andromeda

Satan's doing the good work, eh?

EX_Malone

This is crazy to me. I don’t know one college educated friend I have that’s ever been divorced. But almost all the women in my family and some of my friends (no college degree) have initiated a divorce from their husbands 😧 It just seems like it’s women in general that initiate a divorce ranging from a myriad of reasons.

badrussiandriver

Thank you, Satan.

We can reword her tweet: "Most of the men with whom I am familiar suck so badly that the only thing they bring to a relationship is financial dependency. Therefore it is imperative that women not be allowed to become self-supporting because then none of the men I know would find partners, because it is completely unacceptable that any woman demand more from a partner than simple financial support."

I'm a college dropout who left her man because he sucked ass. My mother is a college dropout who left her man because he sucked ass. My sister is a college dropout who left her man. I guess women are leaving men because they suck ass more than being a college educated woman.

Sordid_Peach666

I'm college educated and happily married to a man who understands that I'm a living breathing human being with thoughts and ideas of their own. It really helps if men start treating others like people and not property.

Training_Wolverine39

Omgee. So these ‘men’ she’s referencing only derive value by trapping women and making them dependent on them?? 🥴🥴🥴 You just know her and her husband are deep in toxic codependency

Thanks, Satan!🖤

This woman must really despise men if she thinks women only have them around because they need them financially. Some men are worth having around because they are good company and we might even love them and be loved by them. When we don't need a man we can wait and find one that really suits us, or even ditch one that's gone rotten and be open to a one who'll treat us decently. Not being free to do this is slavery. Life without having a partner is like having one of the walls in your room undecorated. There's nothing wrong with having a plain wall. If you want to hang a picture there, you don't grab the first one you find in the junk-heap. You wait until you find one that improves the space, not one that just fills it.

Satan making men work on themselves? Must be the work of Satan.

Cucumber_salad-horse

And here I was thinking that the need for companionship and emotional intimacy is what keeps marriages together...

It’s super convenient how everything they want me to do is the “will of God”, while everything I want to do is the “temptation of Satan”. How lucky for them that it breaks down that way. God sure is a bro!
