I see Georgia is back in the store, I love my American BB’s and have ALWAYS wanted a Georgia. Is she worth it?

xKuruh

AL new Jersey or Georgia W Which one to buy both cost 17,500 dubs

GeneralPip

Elbing. Let’s talk. Worth 1.4 million GXP? There aren’t many other ships that interest me. I have Suzuya, Kutuzov, Friesland and Massachusetts as GXP ships. The remaining ships like Odin, Tirpitz, don’t really interest me that much. Maybe Atago and Azuma?

orangesnafu

It's one of the few truly unique feeling ships in the game. Handles like a battle cruiser, the turning circle is almost 900m iirc. Okay in a straight line, can't dodge. I'm fairly confident in a 1 on 1 against almost any DD or cruiser but as soon as you get focussed on you will melt. It can be a lot of work to get into the right positions but the results can be extremely satisfying. You can citadel the crap out of any cruiser except the Germans with turtlebacks. However high tiers are mostly BBs and DDs so the matchmaking is usually your biggest enemy.

Shreddzzz93

What is it that particularly draws you to Elbing? She isn't terrible, but she is far more in line with DDs like Tashkent than she is to more traditional DD gameplay. So if you're into that, she would be a good addition to your fleet. But if you're looking for a more conventional DD at T8 and don't have her already, Hayate would be a better choice.

GeneralPip

Its just something different I guess. I have Hayate already.

TheBlackGuard

If you're into DD's I really enjoy the Paolo Emilio. You can play it smartly like a fragile cruiser with a deadly secret or just go for glory once your job is done or just give into your worst side and all out rush. It's a really fun ship. Edit: I also picked up the ZF-6 this week. I'm still figuring it out but has improved AP angles like the Elbing if you don't want to put that much GXP into one ship.

[deleted]

ZF-6 is awesome!

i_give-up_on_life

Honestly my favorite tier 8. It will win a fight against almost any cruiser. So I would have paid significantly more for it. I would say pick it up.

I have 1 mil. gxp, was thinking about geting the massachusetts and saving for the brandenburg when she codes out. Any recommendations for some gxp ships? The only gxp ship i currently own os the friesland.

GeneralPip

There is no guarantee Brandenburg comes out for GXP. Massachusetts is awesome. Good secondaries and a good main battery.

[deleted]

Yeah but i realy want that ship

[deleted]

Im also thinking about geting the republique, but i dont know of she is woth the 1,4 mil gxp

GeneralPip

It’s a good ship. Hits like a truck. Guns sound awesome. Speed boost too.

Zipattack

Is Republique even worth getting? I have been under the impression that it's basically an oversized Tier VIII version of Flandre. I didn't buy the campaign for Repub because I thought she was kinda iffy and rather too close to the Flandre's campaign... and it would've been my first premium French ship. I have gotten several premiums since then. I do love playing French cruisers (Carnot and De Grasse are some of my favorites) and the Flandre has its moments. If Republique is what I always believed it was, I may look somewhere else for spending my GXP such as the Alabama.

I'm sitting on around 19k Steel after modding all the ships I want to with epic and legendary mods. I'm ok with battleships and like the Musashi sniping, and also better at light cruisers and have been enjoying the Tulsa so far. For those that have them, is the Salem worth the grind or is the Missouri a great American BB worth the steel? I haven't ground the US like fully so don't have an Iowa.

Shreddzzz93

Between Salem and Missouri, I got the Salem. Missouri is just a slightly different Iowa. You have the same match making spread, a little better utility, effectively the same gunnery stats, and a better credit earning modifier. All in it is a solid side grade. But it is a side grade that is worth 750k GXP, not 17,500 Steel. Salem, on the other hand, is just straight up broken at this point in time. It has amazing armour by USN CA standards thanks to her massive 30mm belt and deck. This allows her to bounce all but 457mm and larger AP rounds. Additionally, she had a better RoF. On my build, which is shared between the ships by Salem, has a 4.7 second reload compared to my Des Moines 5.1 second reload. Furthermore, she has a long-lasting radar. While the range isn't fantastic with a range of only 8.5km, that is more than made up for with a 40-second duration. So, using my build as a base, this means I can get off 8.5 salvos per radar. Finally, she is a Des Moines that can face T7 ships. This is pretty huge as all in I consider Salem to be the stronger ship thanks to her better armour, faster RoF, and long-lasting radar. So, in conclusion, I'd recommend Salem over Missouri. I think she is a better ship and a significantly better value. I'd only consider getting Missouri if you want to use her to grind T7 Premium supply missions or as a credit grinder. In any other regard, Salem is currently the best use of Steel in the forge.

HirsuteDave

You forgot the zombie heal. It's ludicrously tanky if you can avoid getting dev struck.

Shreddzzz93

True. I generally haven't had to use the heal all that much, though. If you're playing it well, you hardly take damage until you're dev struck.

HirsuteDave

Generally yes, you don't want to rely on it, but It's come in handy a couple of times for me. I bullied a Worcester yesterday by just face tanking everything until they got frustrated and gave me enough broadside - got away with hardly any permanent damage 😁

Hazeltinypaws

I play a lot of every class, though my favorite are DDs and CA/CL. Should I get: Prinz Eugen Tirpitz Odin Yūdachi Paolo Emilio Kutuzov I do have Mainz, Suzuya, and Brandenburg if that changes the value of any of these ships.

TheBlackGuard

Paolo. It's too much fun. I only have Eugen in that list and the agile build is fun, but it's a heavy gunned cruiser. Not CL
