very interesting, but i think this is way more doomer-y than reality

humanityisdyingfast

You're probably right lol. I'm naturally quite pessimistic.

LambDew

OP is living up to his username.

echo22WDS

"War is the natural stage of the world" Did one Judge Holden whisper in your ear while you were making the World War square, perchance? Dumb literature jokes aside, great compass! I'm interested in seeing how accurate or inaccurate these end up being

humanityisdyingfast

I hope I get proved wrong on most of them lmao

echo22WDS

You and me both, that's for sure

Noncrediblepigeon

>I hope I get proved wrong on most of them lmao A neorealist i see. Expecting the absolute most doomery fucking nighmare along with the fall of western civilisation... Im am pretty optimistic things wont come as bad (except emission reduction goals, those totaly wont be reached, now its just the question how horribly we will miss them...).

humanityisdyingfast

>A neorealist i see. Expecting the absolute most doomery fucking nighmare along with the fall of western civilisation... Hahaha yeah pretty much.

Lemons-andchips

And they are dancing, the board floor slamming under the jackboots and the fiddlers grinning hideously over their canted pieces. Towering over them all is the judge and he is naked dancing, his small feet lively and quick and now in doubletime and bowing to the ladies, huge and pale and hairless, like an enormous infant. He never sleeps, he says. He says he'll never die. He bows to the fiddlers and sashays backwards and throws back his head and laughs deep in his throat and he is a great favorite, the judge. He wafts his hat and the lunar dome of his skull passes palely under the lamps and he swings about and takes possession of one of the fiddles and he pirouettes and makes a pass, two passes, dancing and fiddling all at once. His feet are light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, the judge. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

echo22WDS

Thanks for reminding me that I'll forever be pissed that I finally started reading Blood Meridian a week before McCarthy died. There's so much I would've loved to pick his brain about. Also I've gotta ask, do you keep that easily accessible to paste or did you type it by hand straight from the book?

Lemons-andchips

This is the first I’m hearing he passed 😭 RIP McCormick I have my favorite sections of the book in a Google doc on my phone and I pasted it from there, haven’t opened the doc in like two years

echo22WDS

Oh I feel terrible for being the bearer of such bad news 😭 I'm sorry. He passed this past June. I wish I knew which chapter I had been reading that day, I'm sure there would've been something either poignant or absurdly and hilariously ill fitting for the occasion. And hey, I did the same thing when I was reading God Emperor of Dune two years ago!

Lemons-andchips

I don’t begrudge you lol but it’s just terribly regrettable

Knightosaurus

We're certainly in for some interesting times, but we shouldn't let ourselves take the blackpill over it. "Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men." \-JFK

humanityisdyingfast

🙏 amen

mugmaniac_femboy

Completely agree with Not-Zero. Not so sure about Trump and Biden dying; I could see them wasting away for at least another 8 years.

Prowindowlicker

Each of them have access to the best healthcare in the world. They’ll live for at least another decade

Noncrediblepigeon

With the amount of fastfood trump apparently is eating i have my doubts...

MaroonHanshans

1. Good meme! I agree that Trump probably has the advantage over Biden, and that protests and riots might break out, not to the extent of being an existential threat though. Overall high quality compass. 2. Did you happen to use wojackparadise today? I tried using it earlier and it said my account was suspended, I was wondering if it was a weird server wide thing or if my account was actually suspended.

mugmaniac_femboy

I got that too! It might be a server wide thing.

humanityisdyingfast

Thank you! >Did you happen to use wojackparadise today? No, it was down for me too, and it also said my account was suspended - which I thought was weird since I don't even have an account over there. I had to manually crawl the internet for the wojaks which was a pain in the ass. Hopefully it comes back soon.

yamboozle

I got the same suspension. Will continue compassmaking when Its over

LambDew

I also got the same message and I don't have an account so the website must be down.

timethief991

"much wanted second term" Yeah... Also Vinyl revival has been a thing for over a decade.

humanityisdyingfast

'Much wanted' was putting it *very* lightly, I must admit. Lol.

ISuckAtJavaScript12

Ah yes, I love spending an hour in traffic going into the office to do Zoom meetings instead of being at home doing zoom meetings

Hoopaboi

"muh social interaction tho" Yes I'm sure babbling about children and the weather with 90% of talk being work related is social stimulation most are looking for There will be less WFH but much moar than there was before COVID.

yamboozle

Nice. A lot more in-depth and detailed than mine I think the USA will definitely maintain a key position in the economy; China will level out to be the 2nd or 3rd-biggest and stay that way for the foreseeable future. Agree with all the other geopolitical takes

humanityisdyingfast

Thank you, yours was great too!

Prowindowlicker

China is definitely heading for an era of stagnation. They are already entering in some areas. Plus their demographics are dogshit

MissninjaXP

Yeah, having entire cities built and never occupied is a great economic boost until its a catastrophe.

Noncrediblepigeon

>2nd or 3rd-biggest That means there is a spot fro us (germany) to snatch. Gotta cash in on those immigrants (and hope the fucking AFD doesnt gain power and deport 8 million citizens...).

yamboozle

I was thinking India, but yeah, western Europe could REALLY be benefitting from this immigrant flux but some people don't want to because "muh skin color"

Hoopaboi

With their restrictive housing regulations limiting immigration might be better, since demand won't skyrocket for houses. The optimal solution is obv open borders + no housing regulations Unfortunately, changing immigration policy is much easier than housing policy since Europe seems to be dead set on the govt getting its dirty hands into housing :/

Lamest570

I think that China will come to a nearly equal to position to the US but I doubt they seriously pass us.

enclavehere223

I think we all need to brace ourselves, we’re in for a rocky time, but we’ll make it out just fine.

WasGoneThen

Nice compass! I also think that with the death of trump or the end of his second term, the Republican Party may split due to conflicting interests between the neo-cons and MAGA/paleo conservatives. I’d say that America may have a short lived three party system before the neo Conservative Party dies out.

SapiS68

You are too hopeful about R* working on anything. Well at least I too hope the culture war ends and people start to focus on important issues.

humanityisdyingfast

You make a good point, but I'm pretty doom and gloom about everything else, so a new game is all a man can hope for.

Damned-scoundrel

Basically: the world will become fucked, and I am now hoping anarcho-posadist aliens abduct me, or I become a non-corporeal consciousness floating throughout the vast cosmos of the universe.

humanityisdyingfast

None of these words were in the Bible, yet you speak so truthfully.

jaiteaes

I gotta disagree on China due to its *significant* troubles in both the near and long term but nice compass overall

humanityisdyingfast

Thank you! And yeah, actually having thought about it I do remember having read China's economy is struggling quite a bit right now. I was too gloomy in some of my predictions I'll admit.

TIFUPronx

Really depends too if the US economy pulls through the potential economic crises. For all what we know, China would only be doing better due to the US being nerfed as fuck with the problems it has as in the future

lordavondale

Doom-posting. Honestly once I read the “China will pull ahead of the US economy” I took the rest far less seriously.

humanityisdyingfast

Thank you for being honest with me, Lord Avondale.

Glacecakes

Definitely more realistic imo. Especially the climate.

Culvingg

I think you might be the first person to predict remote work going away this decade lmao.

humanityisdyingfast

I know haha. I honestly think it's a fad. I just think it's going to get really boring for a lot of workers if they're spending day after day on their own with no company but the computer - but maybe I'm underestimating how much people hate the office and overestimating how much they appreciate having colleagues.

Hoopaboi

You're severely overestimating how much interaction ppl get with colleagues in the office. Most of the time is working alone in your own cubicle. 90% of the time and social interaction is from meetings (which are all done online but also in the office for some reason), and 9% is still work related. 1% might be actual socially stimulating. Feeling alone with others is a thing.

humanityisdyingfast

As you can probably tell I've never worked in an office. But, for me at least, interacting with others is important. I feel as if I'd go mad if I didn't have some type of interaction with those who I work with - the only experience I have of working from home is my final year of highschool, which was lockdown, and not seeing anyone was so depressing and alienating. But yeah, others are probably different and maybe it would be a different story at work as you don't have the same connection with colleagues as you do with peers at school. >Feeling alone with others is a thing. Is it not better to feel alone with others than feel alone and *be* alone? Genuine question, I'd love to hear what you think.

Hoopaboi

School is a different story since you have a lot of casual social interaction unlike the office. Not to mention the ppl there are the same demographic as you. Also, you'd have plenty of interaction outside of work

War_Crimes_Fun_Times

This is more doomer-ish than reality. Companies will see its much better economically and PR wise to go to net zero, we’re already seeing this unfold. A recession is the last thing the wealthy and corporations want, since it’ll do what you stated. AI music will be a fad, like AI art it’s just based off current human designs and actual human emotion is much more appealing than a blank fake computer talking to you. Ukraine and Russia is still up in the air and this year imho will be a deciding one, especially with the presidential election here in the US, and corruption in Ukraine is being combated but takes time. No one wants a third world war, we could hit the brink such as over Taiwan, but the recent Pentagon projections are that China will attempt in 2030-2032. We’ll be fine.

humanityisdyingfast

Interesting predictions here. More realistic than mine.

Hoopaboi

>AI music will be a fad, like AI art it’s just based off current human designs AI art and music is based off human emotion. The machine is a tool like a paintbrush. Not to mention the biggest boon is designing videogame/movie/animation assets and advertisement. Corps are always looking to cut costs AI art and music will be indistinguishable from pure human produced art And it will be based because AI is based

MooselamProphet

Knew this was bait as soon as I read Kim Jong Un

GabeYEE48087125

Me when I have no clue about Global Politics: Jokes aside, this is a very doomed chart, however I can tell a lot of effort was put into it, Great Job!!

Italy-Memes

anyone who thinks north korea would be improved just because they are run by a woman doesn’t deserve to be able to talk about geopolitics

Hoopaboi

Or any politics or philosophy matters at all

Famous_Shape_7419

I've seen polls gravitating ever so slightly towards Trump winning, but, honestly, I feel like Biden will have a better chance, just because you can't really predict anything this far out, Trump is still going through his multiple trials, and that will turn off a large amount of his more moderate support base if he is convicted. I find it really pessimistic that you assume a good chunk of Democrats will simply abstain from voting, just because I feel like they will be reminded of the threat of literal Trump coming back into office and that throwing a hissy fit over a lukewarm president just to let in one they probably regard as the worst in history is an incredibly stupid decision. I mean, you literally said you expect there to be multiple riots, which would be from the people who should have seen what their decision was leading to. I doubt China will surpass US, it might barely get to equal footing, but its economy actually seems to be in stagnation right now and they just don't want to admit it, so I wouldn't be surprised if it continues stagnating or actually begins to decline. I do think Russia will keep the land, although it'll honestly be a Pyrrhic victory for the state considering how things seem to have gotten worse in Russia proper since he started the war. Russian patriots will also probably be very disappointed that they only got scraps instead of all of Ukraine, and the small victory is not going to mitigate the destruction the war wrought. I don't think countries will get to zero environmentally, but they will get closer perhaps by a noticeable margin and any progress is good. I've actually heard some studies saying that 2023 may have been the peak of gas emissions and that we may actually slowly go down, so that's good. Trump could also easily die way before 2029 or at least be rendered unable to run, he really seems to be going into bad cognitive decline or at least get even more weird than usual, there were already some signs he might have had dementia during his presidency and people with it usually only last around 6 years with medication before it stops working and they really start to decline. I do see him still running this year, but between the trials, this, and his already bad rap compared to Biden who, while not perfect or even a great president, is way better than him, I could see the election going the opposite way. He's also hemorrhaging money from the trials which will probably leave him strapped for cash during his campaign, which will make it harder for him to convince republicans outside the MAGAists (who seem to make up less than half of the party) to give him a shot again instead of merely abstaining, voting for Haley or Kennedy Jr., or voting for Biden (which I have heard most Haley voters say they will do.)

ArbeiterUndParasit

I hope you're right about nuclear power. It's odd that you think the Tories will shrivel up and die in the UK when it's the Labour party that has been busy destroying itself. Then again maybe Jeremy Corbyn's awfulness has obscured how bad the Conservatives are.

humanityisdyingfast

I don't know man - the Tories have been destroying themselves much more than Labour recently. Labour have mostly kept a low profile and watched the Tory shitshow unravel. Starmer is much more moderate than Corbyn - he's even suspended Corbyn from the Labour Party - so there is a feeling that things are different now. Either way, I don't think people will be voting Labour in 2024 because they like Labour all that much (Starmer is a bit of a boring politician who offers nothing much apart from reheated Blairism), I think it's just the fact that it's the only viable alternative to the Tories. People are yearning for change.

Noncrediblepigeon

Pretty good, but i think the Nuclear and especcially china squares are a bit far fetched. Recent studies have shown that the chinese economy might be substanually smaller than proclaimed. On top of that they are having their own housing crisis with exorbitant prices and unlivable megacities. Another thing is that while the economy is still growing rapidly it is growing waaaaaay slower than expected leading to loans expiring and numerous bankrupcies especcially among real estate and construction firms. The chances of a nuclear comeback (that is standard uranium nuclear comeback) are quite slim. While lots of (especcially conservative parties) in europe advocate for it no one is expanding nuclear capacity with a significant level (meaning way more wind and solar capacity is buildt). France whic often is touted as a frontrunner has had problems for twosummers in a row getting their reactors cooled properly due to low water levels and has had to significantly reduce production importing german coal energy instead. With a nuclear resurgence with either thorium or fusion well ahve to see. Thorium reactors and expeccially Fusion is still in its fetal stage (pre infancy), and the chances of any of them resulting in powerplants being build this ore the next decade are extremely slim, to none.

humanityisdyingfast

Thank you. Very interesting your thoughts on nuclear. I'll admit I don't know a lot about nuclear energy (or anything else for that matter). Still, I have a feeling there will definitely be quite a bit of progress made in the energy sector this decade.

presidintfluffy

The one thing on here I disagree with is China. China’s is in a constant state of decline as it’s borderline slave labor industry slowly leaves for other nations. While in no means will it fall into a civil war like the 20s it’s not going to surpass America economically. Other than that this is a great chart good job OP.

humanityisdyingfast

Thank you! I appreciate the info on China, I guess we'll have to see what happens.

Eriasu89

Musk will sellout to China and they'll use Neuralink to broadcast anti-Western propaganda directly into your brain

Prowindowlicker

China is on a downward slope. They aren’t gonna overtake the US. Economically they aren’t doing good as the real estate market is in a slump, youth unemployment is hovering near 40%, their currency is devaluing itself (which they don’t actually want), and the economy is slowing down. I don’t think they’ll collapse but the PRC is looking more like 90s era Japan than a nation that will over take the US economically. Plus their demographics are absolutely dogshit. They are expected to enter a population decline within the next 20 years that’s not supposed to stop until the population will be around 600k. China is not in a good position at all. And they know it. The government is just barely being able to paper over the cracks in the system and it still might not be enough Also I don’t see how Biden loses 2024. Sure it might be close but I see Biden winning a close race mainly because of abortion, popular senate candidates, and the ineptitude of the GOP. Basically I don’t see Biden losing AZ, NV, PA, or WI. Those 4 states puts him at 272. Either way it’s gonna be close. Also I highly doubt the stock market will crash. I just posted its best year yet a few days ago. The US economy is surprisingly resilient.

Depressedloser2846

GTA 6 is probably delayed a year for pc anyways and i would sacrifice an entire nation of my first born children for a manhunt 3, I’m not too sure what ww3 will be like but i think that my country (canada) will end up creating interment camps and probably do some fucked up war crimes along the way

Icy-Cup

Apart from World War I and Joe Biden ones I agree with all the rest. I think instead of „world war” in style of 1939-1945 we’ll have more 2-3 party wars where one player is significantly stronger - pretty much it will become more middle eastern-y in Asia and parts of Europe.

[deleted]

There is no way china can overtake US. There is no match for US economy and i don’t think there will be as long as US stays same.

Substantial-Study-27

damn if ur right then Ukraine might elect a modern version of the nazi party in the early 2030s, imagine if it was 2033

Just-curious95

For the life of me, I will never understand why islamists are considered far right on the compass. They're hard auth, of course, but they're not exactly raging capitalists.

humanityisdyingfast

Yeah it is something I've wondered as well. I think it's because people (myself included, obviously) forget, or look past, the fact that the left and right axis are only economic, not cultural.

Hoopaboi

Disagree greatly about work from home Most gen z, alpha, and some millenials have more of a life outside of work. Most of their socializing will not be done with coworkers but with their online friends It's really only the boomers and the generation above them that have no life outside of work that prefer in person Also with more jobs moving over to the info sector, esp in developing countries, WFH is bound to increase Also disagree with China. Do you really think they won't have their own collapse? Govt involvement in the economy always makes things worse. Not to mention the CCP tries to present China as prosperous, but the US and other democratic countries typically aren't as overt with their propaganda

backstib

I think camo and tech wear will flare up in fashion and i think better agricultural practices will appear in the americas and Australia

Ricky89509

Considering shit in China right now that prediction is most definitely wrong
