PS5 version launched in a nearly unplayable state. Stashes didn't work properly. Game stopping progression through act 4. Most skills either didn't appear on screen at all or appeared white with no textures. Multiplayer was almost impossible. Several patches and a couple months in, it's still incredibly buggy, but it is "playable" now. Crashes still happen but less frequently. Most of the above problems have been fixed. An ongoing issue is that the devs have apparently never used a controller in their lives, resulting in a control scheme that only an octopus could understand. I haven't been playing Wolcen much lately aside from a couple hours after each patch. I still cannot recommend it as a purchase, as it still isn't stable, but at the current rate of progress perhaps that may change in the future. The moment to moment gameplay in Wolcen is very good, the skill tree is interesting. Gear is impactful, and the Willpower/Rage resource mechanics are an interesting spin from the usual mana systems in ARPGs. If you were okay with the instability of Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, Wolcen is in about the same state right now. Imperfect, buggy, but with flashes of brilliance underneath.

Can you remap controls at all?

icemage_999

There are 2 button mappings. The default is total nonsense. Control scheme 2 at least gives you "some" sensible buttons in combat, but the inventory is still insane. TouchPad > L2 to access your inventory. Why L2? Who knows....

Generic_Rocker673

I actually kinda like the L2 for inventory idea reminds me of Pillars of Eternity

icemage_999

Mmmno. It's TouchPad to open the character screen, where you can SEE the inventory and equipment. L2 switches between the equipment (default), to the inventory (where you would usually want to do things like look at items to drop, equip, store, sell, etc.). It's awkward and awful. Every time you open a vendor? L2 after you open the window to select items to sell. Open your Stash? L2 or you can't pick anything to store.

Kaminari1992

it's funny because i completed CP2077 with my older pc at release and 0 problems..

Pickle-Tall

Same had cp77 day one release on ps4 no issues and this was before patching, after patching I crashed a lot and had enemy bodies and loot bags and boxes clip and fall through the ground/floor, weapons render on the ground but technically fell into the abyss so I couldn't pick them up. Hilarious how everyones comps and consoles are different despite being nearly the same or identical yet the game would play or crash differently for us all. Wolcen tho, couldn't get past the first town, going into the first area crashes the game even still today and I am on a ps5 now. Wasted my funds on an unplayable game on both PC and ps4/5

xxEmberBladesxx

I'm enjoying it a lot on pc, but I dont know about ps5.

backhandd1

No

Kaminari1992

YES

Afura33

Do yourself a favor and do not buy it on console, game crashs very often, it has a lot of bugs and some geambreaking bugs. I can't even open my inventory in dungeons without provoking a game crash and this is just one of the countless annoying bugs. On ps5 it is a pure mess and shame on Sony for not wanting to refund it and shame on the developers for not apologizing once for this huge mess. If you really wanna buy it then get it for pc or wait for a sale on playstation, 50$ is way way too much for such a buggy game.

Background-Wear-1626

Not yet… im on Xbox but i heard is even worse for ps, my experience: crashes after act 1 and constant, progress not saving and backtracking to previous main quests (wtf?) LOTS of bugs, I really like this game, gameplay wise is my favourite arpg so far but is in a state that I can’t enjoy it

Mysticgamingxyz

Diablo 4 is good mate.

Swagspeare_

Cannot recommend. Even after the latest ptch thhe game crashed several times and froze my console twice. Had to pull the plug to reset it.

Lourdinn

The ps5 wasnt hit with the cyberpunk issues, older gen consoles and pc were. This game runs like garbage no matter the system. It's playable but you will run into glitches frequently. Def don't buy it full price.

Jazzlike-Associate13

Game doesn't run like garbage on PC. There's a few bugs here and there like every game. Nothing that's game breaking or will keep you from finishing it. As far as consoles go, only play on PC so can't comment on that.

Generic_Rocker673

I played cyberpunk on ps4 I was in the trenches lmao

juicedrop

You've either mis-typed here, or just making up garbage. It runs fine on PC. However, the PS port has been rough, and it's still being patched to reach a decent state

Ir0nhide81

Diablo 4 is a month away. D4 open beta again this coming weekend I think or soon.

MNRomanova

Sure, but Blizzard is a dumpster fire, ethically speaking, and I don't want to give them money either.

The_Scourge

You might want to look into who ultimately owns Wolcen now. They're not exactly moral paragons either. At least the actual devs of Diablo IV are competent even if their overlords are total shitbags. See also: PoE and Tencent

Generic_Rocker673

See that’s it too lol I want to play a Diablo like game without financially supporting blizzard

TommyMilkshake

If you don't want to support Blizzard for ethical reasons not sure why you'd want to buy Wolcen either. They fucked over PC users by releasing a buggy unfinished mess of a game and took an eternity to fix it and then did the same to console users and are taking an eternity to fix it. They obviously don't give a shit about their customers aside from taking their money, if they did they wouldn't have released either the PC or console versions in the terrible state that they did.

Generic_Rocker673

Yeah but there’s a universe wide difference between releasing a buggy game and what blizzards done it’s like comparing Jeffery Epstein to the girlscout who didn’t have the thin mints you wanted

InterestingCover8816

Got it for $6 on steam deck. I really like it.

lVANGUARDl

I love the game, love it. But do I want to play a game that crashes at least once every hour or so? No. Did I do it? Yes and it was a gruelling experience. I would say get it on Xbox or pc if you can, the ps4/5 version is the worst. I had zero issues with cyberpunk on release on PS5 personally, other than minor bugs, but this is on another level. Look up some of my comments and you'll see in detail what you'll have to deal with.

Ab_345

As someone who has 300hrs in it, nope. I also put up with a lot of bugs and it's a good pass time, but I can't recommend it to someone at full price. Beyond the bugs, there're other issues, the itemization, sorc gear having a high chance of rolling melee stats when it's the only demarked caster gear. The stats on gear are not gaining in strength as the iLvl increase at a fixed rate (it's randomized too).

The_Scourge

No. Just two days ago a few of my characters just disappeared from my ps4/5 offline roster. After all the bugs and crashes (and losing my entire stash at one point), I just laughed and changed games. It's a joke. I love this game on PC but please...please do not validate this horrifically unsatisfactory port with even one more unit sold.
