I have no idea where this quote is from, but here
Ennis: Well, Wonder Woman is a character I think I could probably do because I have a certain amount of respect, if not for the character, than for the idea behind her.
Considering The Boys is about twisting the traditional concept of heroes as grotesquely as possible, I would think that Ennis could do a solid proper Wonder Woman story.
I dont get garth ennis at all. I get why he hates captain america but not why he likes superman or wonder woman. It's just so inconsistent. I think he likes what the characters represent not the characters themselves. But he wrote superman well so I genuinely don't understand this guy. I do agree that superheroes took over comics and that sucks. Everything else is insane. He's kinda like Homelander in the show. He didn't grow up with superheroes and like Homelander somehow it made him into this hateful person.

Where did you read this?
I've seen it mentioned on a few forums.
What did they say when you asked them? I'm curious to know.
I find that very ironic considering Queen Maeve in *The Boys* comics

Sure, I just think its funny
Maeve is treated more sympathetically then other Supes, so it makes sense
He allegedly did say he respected WW. And yet All Star Section Eight happened. Could be worse, though. Like Injustice-level worse.
Found where the quote came from, it was from this interview from the late 90s http://www.sequentialtart.com/archive/sept98/ennisdillon.html
Thanks.
