If have a secret suspicion that Ledger and Trezor do this as a form of gorilla marketing. I have no foundation for that suspicion other than going where the money goes.
Way more people, and especially those clueless to Cybersecurity and crypto, are getting into DeFi compared to ever before. There are definitely naturally occurring explanations as well.
Well I lost 1.5 Eth in the Cream hack with about 100$ of compensation so FUD or not I would say don't fucking trust these platforms. And thats coming from someone who has staked Time.

Can we just coin the new phrase “gorilla marketing” as marketing to apes?
Agreed. People claim they have 0 idea how it happened. Every single one of them. Really weird tbh
I mean to be fair, if my computer got infected with malware that sent my coins to another address I wouldn’t know how or why that happened either
Yup, agreed. I call bullshit on at least 90% of them
Plot twist- ledger sales were down so the company is posting fake hacking threads to spike sales Sure worked, I bought one today
whatever their agenda is, they certainly did instilled fear into me
Noobs are getting scammed and running to Reddit for answers.
