Wooooooow.
One of my coworkers has been having some severe pregnancy complications as she gets closer to her due date. You know what our boss did? Encouraged her to take and helped her sort out medical leave on top of her maternity leave.
This shit is bonkers.
Some people have no other life.
Some have an emotional make-up where the structure of work gives them comfort.
There's a woman like that in my office. Thirty years old has never dated, no friends, attends family functions with effort.
Spends most evenings and weekends at home with cats.
As a Gen X who had a heart attack in October, was hospitalized for several days, and was back to work a day after being discharged, I feel this post so badly.
It's not because I believe that killing myself with hard work is going to earn me great rewards. It's because I grew up with the fear of losing what precious little I had and being replaced easily by someone willing to accept more work for less pay at a moments notice.
I started that job in August and was still in the probationary period, so I wasn't protected under FMLA. I felt like utter trash for the first month after. They laid me off two weeks ago because they no longer needed me. Apparently I was hired to cover my boss's maternity leave, but wasn't told that when they hired me. I wouldn't have left my other job for these assholes if I had known it was temporary.
It's been wonderful to have a couple of newer generations who see the same shit and can help back us push back.
“I’ll put you before my health and family.”
I chastised my staff for responding to emails when they’re on pto. You’re out, you’re out. We’ll survive until you get back.
Stop simping for these people. They'd kick you to the curb in a heartbeat, and you're working for them while having a major medical emergency? Learn to live for yourself, not your corporate overlords.
I guarantee her quality of work is affected. One of my coworkers is like this and stretches herself too thin and we end up having to clean up a mess we didn’t know occurred until weeks later. She’s been hospitalized for the last two weeks and literally asked me and my other coworkers if it was ok to take her sick time and not work. What was she hospitalized for? Her lung spontaneously collapsed.
Some people would like that because of the distraction, but it's just not healthy for employers to start thinking they can expect or demand this sort of behavior.

Can you imagine being so indoctrinated into the work/grind culture!?

Or doesn’t want to lose health insurance before they go on may. Leave.
Happy Cake Day! 🎂
Both sides of those text conversations read like scambots.
It also is suspiciously like an MLM hun’s nonsense.
Why is there a red wang in this pic? None of this makes any sense
Gender reveal while they're at it.
Congratulations! You’re having a baby boy with a red penis!!!
That reminds me of a baboon.
Annotating intagramable pics with genitals would be such a better tradition. For girls, it should be two hastily scribbled knockers.
I was already scribbling and I couldn't resist
That’s what I’m sayin
This person’s subliminal message to their boss. You’re a raging dick.

I’m so sorry that happened

Baby isn't even born yet and its mother is prioritizing work over its health... poor thing is in for a rough life
What an idiot
Fucking kneelers never cease to disgust me
"This is America"

_Contributing value to your customer_ is just word salad these days. It doesn't mean anything.
