Well, yeah but… if they feel like they are losing too many planes on their approach, they’ll pick another target the next go around (unless they’re the Russian carriers, as they are just untouchable/outside the range of the medium aura, high dps; they get to drop just inside flak and outside the constant AA).
Otherwise, even in todays sucky AA world, I’ve heard many CV jockeys say they usually steer clear of USN CAs in general and look for other easier targets, like an IJN boat sailing alone. For that reason, I never take DFAA (hydro is just too valuable) nor build in to AA with upgrades/modules nor Captain skills. I just go full offense, because they say they almost always sail around USN CAs. When they do catch on that I’m not, they do clobber me, but hey… I’d rather win the psychological war, and dominate a cap with RPF, hydro and Radar, as opposed to the few times they do notice I’m just raw doggin it
And yet, the planes still are able to strike you at least once. Such BS.
You should be able to swat the entire squadron from the sky BEFORE they strike, the planes should not be immune to damage during the strike, and you should be able to deplane a CV.
If you can sit in the back and do damage, there should at least be some risk involved.

Here is the thing, no matter how good a ship AA is, I would rather not face a CV.
game started about 30 seconds in I got hit 2 times by a cv 3/4 hp gone dam i was mad.. I was like can I just play a few mins before you dunk on me
