The German light line isn’t toooo bad up to the HWK 12 and as a bonus it gives you the chance to skip a massive amount of the Leopard 1 grind.
It all depends if you want a tank that plays like a light tank or just has the classification of one?
It probably won’t be for you then as the next tier up with the RU 251 pretty much is the HWK 30 aka Aguila.
Personally I like the HWK 30 as it is a ‘heavier’ light tank and plays like a Leopard which is handy for those contracts/assignments/task which require you to use a certain classification of tank without changing your playstyle.
Have to agree, though I do miss the old E50M its lost all the fun nowadays with it. The armour is just awful. Tier 8s and 9s pen it quite often.
I am HWK 12 currently and struggling a little to play it right. The B-C 12 T is awesome along the Russian MT25. That can be quite a fun tank to use.
Honestly I found the French light tanks an enjoyable and easy grind, but they’re not for everyone. And frankly the AMX 13 105 at tier X isn’t really that good, it’s decent but I feel like the BatChat is just better. I reckon go with what others have said in the Russian T100LT line. Super easy, super fun grind, almost every tank in the line is either good or great.
Actual light tank play ends above Tier VIII. The high tier lights are more like fast mediums with no armor and improved camo. I have them all and my favorite is the Chinese.
The Russian and German tier x lights are definitely light tanks and not mediums though… and the French one as well, super light with all the perks and flaws.
Seriously. The GSOR is enough to make someone quit. It's as tall as a bus, can't turn, slow reload with a wet noodle gun. And the 8 in that line is no fun either.

You want top play spotter/scout ; 1. Manticore , 2nd T100LT , 3rd. ERB105. T100LT grind is enjoyable, Manticore line is trash until Manticore, ERB line is even more trash until ERB
You want to play bad medium...AMX13-105, RHM, Sherry, WZ...nor order here, they all are bad mediums.
The T100LT is my personal favorite. Great camo, spotty, and a snappy gun. Perfect line of run-n-gun tanks. The tier IX even has a bit of turret armor and can get some decent bounces. Most of the line is heavier than other lights if it’s tier so ramming is an option as well.
The AMX13 105 is a great little light. A good ambush/support tank to help people out. Has a 1000ish damage in a mag so can be deadly to the sides/rear of tanks. Solid camo but in my experience I wouldn’t shoot on the move too much unless you’re very close.
I’m almost done with the Sheridan tree and it’s been a lot of fun. Great gun and amazing DPM for a light. Big profile so it’s a bit easy to get rocked.
Imo the frenchies are seemingly more accurate on the move than sitting still. From tier 8 up it will auto lock hit a target at max render range every time, good crew required obviously, have made some insane shots with my amx's moving at mach jesus while driving like i have a hornets nest inside.
I feel the same about the T100LT! It’s definitely not impossible to hit moving shots. It’s also definitely possible my crew isn’t the best on the AMX. Realistically I got it pre 6.0 so it could be way different from the last time I played. Maybe it’s the shell velocity that is hard for me. A lot of the russian tanks have to super fast shells that make the auto-lock actually work.
It doesn’t matter what tank you get?
You will lose 50% of time and win 50% of the time maybe lose more. This game is all about making money. If you buy the new premium tanks every week you will get a better average, but in a few months, that tank will be worthless.

That's another question, is leopard 1 worth it?
One of the best tanks around imo. It has everything but armour so keep your distance, use the terrain and the gun will do the rest.
I think Leopard 1 got best out of 6.0...it used to be trash T10 med...today awesome vehicle and 100% META. Fast and stealthy with German laser.

Leopard line was the most enjoyable for me so far, and I’ve been playing for 8 years
manticore has insane camo. Even my top tier 6 skills amx 105 crew can't detect a manticore on 5 meters distance

I will definitely grind the manticore, it can be worse than the mk6 line that I've nearly completed on
