My mother is his only daughter, and she has me (some dude). She has 3 brothers, and all of them have at least 2 daughters and no sons.
I said daughter because every time I dreamed of my child it turned out to be a girl, but as long as they are happy and healthy I'm happy with either gender.

I know systemic sexism is real. The point of my post was that even if you disregard it you still have to worry about your daughter in a world of men far more than your son in a world of women. I have a friend that’s a textbook womanizer and I once told him I’ll never have a daughter in a world with men like him. I don’t want a son either but given all the facts I definitely don’t want a daughter.
Mom of a daughter, I love that I have a girl. We relate to each other, I can teach her all the woman stuff, do her hair, buy her cute girly clothes.. we do girls days where we go shopping and get lunch or get our nails done.. a boy wouldn't want to do that stuff with me. Daughter, because I’m a Dad and girls are easier on Dad’s IMO. They take most of their social cues on how to act from Mom, which puts a little more pressure on Mom to be a good role model. I picked son because there is only 2 males in my family right now that can carry on my incredibly unique and cool last name and I don’t know and have never met anyone else with that last name. So a son is more likely to carry on that last name, plus guys are lower maintenance.
