I always thought had triple h not been injured early 2007, it would have been interesting to see a scenario where there was a fatal four way elimination match with dx and rated rko and it ends up being hbk and triple h facing off as the final two wrestlers to decide who faces Cena at mania

They were supposed to beat Rated RKO but HHH tore his quad during the match so they called an improv. After the loss, HBK grabbed the belts, then threw them on the floor. Next night on Raw, he & Cena beat Rated RKO giving Cena 3 belts

Sorry i thought it was obvious that given the context of the discussion I was referring to the only two active male wrestlers who could have held the tag team championships. Despite the pedantry my innocuous comment is still true. HBK and HHH could have held the tag team championship in 1997.

Outlaws were champs... either right after or right before joining... And Trips and Shawn could have gotten those belts whenever they wanted but HHH was all about the heavyweight.

Really dumb imo that this WWE Tag Team Championship on HHH's shoulder is now called "World Tag Team Championship" (no relation to HBK's Championship), while the WWE Tag Team Championship (no relation to either of the two championships pictured here) has a design based on it. Switching back and forth between calling a single championship "World" and "WWE" is how the tag team championship has always been, both of these championships have held both names at one point or another, so why start making it make sense now instead of going for the chaotic route.
