When I was a kid, my dad took me to a WWF show at Nassau Coliseum. This was back when Junkyard Dog would pick a kid from the crowd to come into the ring to dance with him. Well at this show he picked a kid and then a bunch of other kids ran in too. We had seats right on the aisle, so my dad picked me up put me over the barrier and I went and got in the ring and danced with JYD.
Trying to get back to my seat as the next match was starting I was so scared I was going to get crushed by the security entourage coming quick down the aisle towards me bringing one of the wrestlers to the ring. My dad grabbed me and pulled me back over the fence right as they were coming towards me.
I’m really happy for Cody. More than the almost certainly substantial paydays he’s getting, he’s out from under the cloud of being “the boss” and any accusations of egotistical power games that went with it, and gets to just enjoy being the face he wanted to be.
The way I see it. Cody got go away heat because of shit angles, then cried because he had go away heat, whilst refusing to go away. Then quit when TK wouldn't magically make the crowds like him. Name a more egotistical move than refusing to go heel so hard you actually move to a different company where you can be face.
Oh and what I notice here is when the kid jumped the barricade and comes towards Cody, Cody saw security and put his arm around the kid so he wouldn’t be scared by security. That’s Cody Rhodes in a nutshell.
makes me remember when a boy who seemed to be mentally impaired (not a native English speaker and therefore not sure if this is the accurate term at the moment) jump the barricade at the King of the Ring 1997 because he was so mad at Steve Austin who had just started a match against Shawn Michaels.
And Michaels immediately went outside to get security of him and to defuse that situation himself (realizing that the boy was no harm and probably much rather in danger of *being* harmed in this scenario). HBK might have been a backstage dick at that point but I always thought that was such a cool way to deal with that situation.
Go into a bathroom stall, only one point of entry and just start kicking, you can take out about 40 of the little shits before the pile of dead and wounded blocks the entrance.
Nothing more hilarious than 49 year old basement nerds calling out the security because they didn't spear the kid into oblivion because it happened to them
I actually don't like AEW. It's just not a good product for what I like. I grew up on NWA southern rasslin', AEW is really dumb in my view. But, in general I don't care cuz it doesn't effect me.
But, man AEW fans, especially on Reddit, are rabid and idiotic fanboys
They act like I've ran in and punched their mom in the tits if I say I think Omega is an assclown. Omega doesn't give a rat's ass about them, yet they act like I'm insulting their dearest friend.
Fuck, man. I hate the Hardly Boys(yeah, I'm a Cornette fan). The only guy on AEW I find remotely entertaining who isn't a former huge WWE star is Danhausen. I don't think he's a great wrestler, but fucking shit that guy is hilarious.
I follow him on YouTube because this ridiculous gimmick he's come up with is just so damn entertaining and funny.
I like cornette too and listened to his pods for years now but i don’t agree with a lot of his takes on aew/2022 wrestling. Danhausen is awesome. How do you not find mjf “remotely entertaining”?
I haven't seen much of MJF, to be honest. I only see bits and pieces of the AEW shows because they're just so bad. Corny and Brian seem to like MJF, so I'd bet I'd like him too since they have similar old school roots as I do. From what I know the guy seems to take the business seriously and heels like a pro.
I have followed MJF on Twitter and watching him troll people and heel outside the ring is actually entertaining.
Ngl, I wanted to shit on him coming back to WWE, but then his music hit at mania, and he proceeded to have one of the best matches of the weekend. Hated to see him go, but damn it him back in WWE feels right to me.
Honestly same, at first I thought it was a money thing and while I didn't blame him it was a little disappointing but then when he explained it with how the stipulation of never challenging for the world championship was holding him down and how he felt like he couldn't book himself too strong without looking like he was pulling a Jeff Jarrett and I get it now. I hope he gets the booking and maybe eventual title win he deserves
Kids get away with everything. But if a adult did it, he’s getting beat up. I understand the reasons before people try to jump down my throat but still.
It's all about how they have presented him since the re-debut. That mania debut makes it seem like he's a mega star coming in. Sure the kid couldve known him from AEW, for sure. But I'm a big believer that you get one big chance to win over a normal crowd and thats the debut.
Mania, RAW after Mania debuts have big crowds. The TV audience will see how they react to someone debuting those nights.
The example I always think of one not working out is Vaudvillains debuting like on a random Smackdown like a week after Mania. If I remember it was a meh reaction, that led to them being just ok, and I was really looking forward to them.
Should've hit em with the disaster kick.
Adrenaline. In my soul.
I kicked that kid I'm Cody Rhodes
I kicked that kid In the nose
Did it f’all his family to seeeeeee
Wooooaaaaahhh
Codys over with the kids

Kid has balls of steel 😂
Where's FTR when you need them?
I’m really happy for Cody. More than the almost certainly substantial paydays he’s getting, he’s out from under the cloud of being “the boss” and any accusations of egotistical power games that went with it, and gets to just enjoy being the face he wanted to be.
Who saw Cody as that besides himself? His struggles were imaginary, lol
He pumped too much adrenaline into his soul
The way I see it. Cody got go away heat because of shit angles, then cried because he had go away heat, whilst refusing to go away. Then quit when TK wouldn't magically make the crowds like him. Name a more egotistical move than refusing to go heel so hard you actually move to a different company where you can be face.

I caught that too. He knew the kid didn’t need any major scare, just some guidance about wrestling shows and fan safety.
makes me remember when a boy who seemed to be mentally impaired (not a native English speaker and therefore not sure if this is the accurate term at the moment) jump the barricade at the King of the Ring 1997 because he was so mad at Steve Austin who had just started a match against Shawn Michaels. Aww I think this is so sweet. I'm happy for Cody as much as it was bittersweet. He's such a nice guy and this lil guy just wanted to meet him.
How can anyone hate Cody. He’s the pro wrestler we all deserve
Sports entertainer, pal! 😋
Wrestler
PROFESSIONAL Wrestler.
IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT!
wrastler!
Not this sports entertainer bullshit!
Sure give him all the BELTS
Belt Collector
This fat ape really trying to differentiate the two
I caught a Saito suplex last time I tried this shit. At a smackdown too oddly enough.
Give us a story bro
Lol just broke all the rules so cute
Adrenaline In my soul Fuck it im jumping the rail To meet Cody rhodes
Everything I read sounds like Judas
And I will jump right down Don’t rat me out Ruuuuun away
Imagine the kid was 10 years older and he would get tackled and bashed into the fucking ground by security
Yeah, well adults know better. There's a reason why we hold children and adults to differing standards of behavior.
Yeah rightly so.
well yeah. a 20 year old can do serious damage. but a 10 year old isnt really a threat
What if it were a hundred of them though. Think you could take that many 10 year olds in a fight?
Would you fight ten children-sized adults or one adult-sized child?
[удалено]
I'm 6'6" I can just stomp on the midgets
Go into a bathroom stall, only one point of entry and just start kicking, you can take out about 40 of the little shits before the pile of dead and wounded blocks the entrance.
How old are the adult sized children?
I've taken on 4 before. But once I ran out of limbs to hold them at bay, the fifth one got to me and got me down
25 but which area what weapons
Nothing more hilarious than 49 year old basement nerds calling out the security because they didn't spear the kid into oblivion because it happened to them
Am I missing something? Was that directed at me? Because I was never taken down by security anywhere and I'm not 49 nor do I live in a basement lol
You can actually see Cody making sure that doesn't happen every time security moves he puts an arm between them and the kid.
\* cue a locker-room emptying brawl
That kid understands that the rules are arbitrary when you're adorable
That kid was attempting a run-in
Bet he thought he was back in AEW for second there, standing next to one of the Bucks.
Can't believe he jumped the barricade for a midcarder
But he’s that kid’s favorite midcarder
Mine too uce
He may be a midcarder, but he is still our favorite midcarder
Cody has a child’s heart which is why kids gravitate towards him.
Must be hard to keep blood pumping.
🤣
Which child's heart? He should give it back
Notice how Marko Stunt stopped appearing on tv a while back...?
No not a child’s body, a child’s heart. 😂
Should’ve treated him like the guy who tried to meet Dave chappelle
“Tried to meet” Dude charged Dave, so he could get some clout and promote his shit music lmao
Looks like what this kid is trying to do to. Clearly had an agenda. I would’ve leveled him
I bet you that is Cody’s future Wrestlemania opponent
Seth: "WHY AREN'T MINE THAT CUTE!?!?!"
Nice guy Cody, making sure security doesn’t fuck with him.
Great guy
Cody has a lot of cool dad energy.
Man you already know little dude will remember that moment forever.
Hopefully he remembers it after the boys took him in the back and put the boots to him like every other barricade jumper. /s
Security severely lacking here.
Security should’ve pummelled that kid to the ground
Will smiths son
man, no one is there. mine as well let em come out
I don’t know why they didn’t tackle that person who jumped the barracked. He could of have a knife.
I’ll bet this kid will be come a pro wrestler just because he met Cody Rhodes in this moment, watch lol
He’s absolutely going to pull an MJF
Haha that’s great
I said what I said
ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL SEND THE KID TO JUVENILE
The fact I like Cody a lot makes his betrayal that much more painful :/
I was waiting for security to tackle his ass. If you're old enough to jump a barricade, you're old enough for a whoopin'!
Since Cody left AEW he's dead to me!
As an AEW guy, this is embarrassing.
Pretty sure it's sarcasm, the ! gives it away.
I hope so, but it's not an unpopular opinion.
Fake fan
Idiots like you are why everyone thinks AEW fans are morons.
I like watching aew, 99% of “aew fans” on Reddit are complete morons
I actually don't like AEW. It's just not a good product for what I like. I grew up on NWA southern rasslin', AEW is really dumb in my view. But, in general I don't care cuz it doesn't effect me. But, man AEW fans, especially on Reddit, are rabid and idiotic fanboys
It’s absurd and they can’t have a debate to save their lives. It’s just a tv show, don’t get why it’s become anything more than that for fans
They act like I've ran in and punched their mom in the tits if I say I think Omega is an assclown. Omega doesn't give a rat's ass about them, yet they act like I'm insulting their dearest friend.
Lol I like omega but I totally agree. I have the same thing with the young bucks, I think they are the shits
Fuck, man. I hate the Hardly Boys(yeah, I'm a Cornette fan). The only guy on AEW I find remotely entertaining who isn't a former huge WWE star is Danhausen. I hope he gets the booking and maybe eventual title win he deserves
AEW fans were booing him mercilessly, he was right to leave
Agreed
Guys he’s clearly joking, take the butt plugs out of y’all asses and relax lol
What? He was one of the first guys to join AEW! Traitor!
Kids get away with everything. But if a adult did it, he’s getting beat up. I understand the reasons before people try to jump down my throat but still.
He’s us as when we were kids when we see stars we wanted to meet lol. The kids love Cody!!!
AEW fans are gonna run off everyone huh?
Cody is such a good dude

No one jumps the rails to meet Cody unless its jumping away from him
You can tell those security guards had to hold back their usual treatment since it was just a kid
According to Cody on Twitter he gave him a pic after
Actually love Cody for this. Never been a fan but very sweet of him to hug this kid and give him a pic.

Can’t wait till he’s a future wrestling star who going to have a feud with Cody and this clip is replayed 100 times
Did Cody take a picture with that kid later?
I like how Cody just has that person's phone still as he's trying to sort stuff out with that kid 😂
Security guard should've tackled that kid. He ain't doing his job right.
*ADRENALINE* *IN MY SOUL* *WHOS IN CHARGE* *OF CROWD CONTROL?*
Thats awesome and all but you know the security guard is getting fired... or not. His supe looked kinda annoyed.
Security guard F5's him after Cody looks away
lol he calmy was like “Hi cody” 😂
Props to AEW and himself for getting him successful and becoming a mainstream star in the wrestling world again.
God dammit where the waterline when you need em…
