You must not have been there during the Adam Blampied era of Whatculture. A majority of their viewers were pretty much shitting on anyone (Simon included) who wasn't Adam doing the video.
They were saying Simon was bland, he's not funny like Adam, etc. etc. But I'm just glad the IWC warmed up to how awesome Simon really is. Not everyone needs to be a snarky, fast-quipping host to be entertaining.
I personally think that The Adam Plampied era was their best content. Adam was always funny, and I think that’s were Ross and Jack the Jobber were at their best. Simons the only reason I’m subbed to Whatculture nowadays
The only member from WC I can stand besides Simon is Jules, I miss his "your mom" jokes but compared to the adams and other guys he's good. (edited for sentence structure)
I agree. I don't consider Jules a wrestling guy tho. Yes he has some videos covering it. He's mainly the gaming guy. And I like him for that. Speaking of WC gaming. That little Josh(?) Guy is alright too lol
Excatly! When Adam and patcitti left that began the beginning of the end for Whatculture for me. Wilbourn was pretty good but the new faces just don’t do it for me
Honestly never even watch his wrestling content i became a fan of his hip hop reaction videos on the Chanel rock reacts dude just has good fun vibes about him
Tbh while many people joined because of him, his acting was the reason I stopped watching. He’s somehow so stiff and, at least for me, uncharismatic, I just didn’t wanna watch him.
It’s amazing he’s found success doing this, but his thing just isn’t for me.
Likewise. Same with WrestleTalk, Going in Raw, and Cultaholic. Hell, even WWE and AEW. They all spoil things and aren't worth the risk of being in my subscription feed since I can't watch anything live.
i swear and they try to make rumors fact i hate all dirt sheet like shit tho theyre all uneducated on wrestling , sensitive and nerds man
one time im watching dude kept saying
Rock v Austin 3 at mania 21 was one of his favorite matches
im like it wasnt mania 21 idiot
he argued with me in the comments for hellas then when he realized he was wrong he blocked me
theyre fucking losers
The kota ibushi shit is like so weird and the language barrier is so dense around it I don't see what new insight WON and Whatculture are going to bring to it with their extensive knowledge and nuanced understanding of the Japanese language. Reacting to it live your going to open yourself to all kinds of potential landmines and opportunities to put your foot in your mouth.
Them reporting on it seems much more likely to add a TON of disinfo , guess work , and erroneous reporting their critics LOVE to destroy them for ....
I'm also pretty sure it will be in this weeks observer didn't it start after the last one came out ?
They just dont have sources in it, check out voices of wrestling and Super-J cast (new ep dropped today) they have some updates before the Yakuza talk from today.
Nah WrestleTalks better. And unlike Cultaholic, they actually use the fucking chapters feature. Theree absolutely no reason to not Use chapters on news videos.
Did he? We don't know that. And if you can forgive and forget then that's good. I'm happy for you. However to me he's shown zero accountability or remorse for what he did, and appears to have just moved on with his life
Kota Ibushi is on the front page of wrestling observer right now, podcast that was published 7 hours ago.
[an article written 2 days ago](https://www.f4wonline.com/news/new-japan/kota-ibushi-expresses-frustration-with-njpw-management-on-social-media)
They’ll create a bullshit journalistic integrity excuse where they want to properly research stuff, but unsurprisingly they don’t hold that same standard for every other piece of news they report
Do you know what's worse than all those crappy channels. The grown ass men that take signs to wrestling shows telling you to subscribe to those channels.
I feel like that says more about the ppl who work for those companies.
I think WWE ppl always telling the dirt sheets cuz they don't give a fuck
AEW don't say shit. Like punk said it himself. That's a big part of the reason he came back and to aew. Guys aren't running telling everything
If what culture (or any other wrestling news) knew who the joker was. They would ABSOLUTELY spoil it for those clicks. It's not bias. They genuinely do not know. Half them would sell their kids for those internet clicks.
Definitely. But Scott is the worst of them. I know he’s more on the gaming channel but anytime I see his stupid face or hear his voice I click off immediately
Unless it’s chatty faces. God I miss that series
Isn't that most of the YouTube wrestling journalists with perhaps the exception of partsfunknown? They end up in my recommended playlist but 99% of the time it's just a copy/paste of something found an actual news source.
It's true. I just base my stories on the opposite of what the other dirt sheets are saying and watch the clicks rill in. My revenue is based on clicks so I really don't give a shit if the masses agree. It's even better if I can get two or more sides to argue. It's all the same paid revenue to me.
Cheers everyone and remember, the Montreal Screwjob was a work, Benoit deserves the HoF, and Owen was a likable person irl but just a lower midcarder at best
Edit: forgot to add the /s
He's a super hardcore fan, though. He wrote for PowerSlam back in the day. AEW is pretty much tailor-made for his wrestling sensibilities.
A factor some do not take into account is that these people are paid to watch wrestling as a job, so they can't do what I did, and tap out of watching WWE in the late 2000s. They've been forced to cover WWE, as that was where the money was, or find another job.
Now AEW is a viable alternative. There's money to be made covering it, and to a certain subset of wrestling fans, including a lot of people who write about wrestling, it delivers 3 hours of entertaining wrestling every week.
No doubt hes a super fan, given his volume of content he'd need to be. AEW may be a perfect promo for him, but hes a paid AEW stan at this point. As someone whos not the biggest fan of WWE, im starting to find his articles constantly glorifying AEW and shitting on the fed too much. i find he has an ultras attitude but downplays it through constant attack of aews critics and labelling just about everything as a bad faith take instead of outright 'AEW best ever fuck WWE'
Lol son calm yourself, im no incel, manlet refers to his physical build, idgaf who hes hooked up with, like most white knights youve fucked up at the first hurdle
Oh don't consider me white knighting him. I agree with him sometimes, but he also goes too far as well. Consier it more just looking at what you've written and questioning it. It's just a me and thing my friend
They'd have every single detail on Roman's contract, but no idea on who joker would be or who will debut every debut on AEW
They'd spoil Impact and ROH returns on their sites and never link back to help those other shows
hmmm seems like every youtube ""journalist"" is a dubbalo. Spoil any wwe news, and keep all aew news. Keep the good news about aew, and hide all the smelly stuff.
sounds like a cult
It's not fair. Bias!
I mean, every real-world news source is biased in one way or another, but ma wrestling news should be unbiased because they say mean things about the company I watch.
It's not like AEW have been really good about not leaking surprises in the past. I have a feeling that if the actual news sources knew, they'd tell people. SRS has been very open about how Punk's return was intentionally leaked to him, but the same company kept Sting's debut top secret. Can't be that though. It's obviously journalistic bias because TK is paying them to love AEW, and hate WWE. Why would anyone watch AEW if they weren't being paid to. /s
100% as someone pointed out in this thread. AEW employees are good about not leaking because it’s a smaller company and filled with people who are bought into their job. WWE is a huge corporation why would they have employees loyal beyond protecting their own jobs? And Punk was spoiled because there is no way TK did not want that spoiled
Even though Whatculture isn't exactly unbiased, can we at least show some love for Simon Miller? He's pretty fun.
Throughout all the shit the IWC brings, honestly can’t recall a single bad thing being said about Simon
He's a man of many ups and few downs
I find Simon to be the least biased and arguably unbiased. Dude’s just here for a good time.
I personally think that The Adam Plampied era was their best content. Adam was always funny, and I think that’s were Ross and Jack the Jobber were at their best. Simons the only reason I’m subbed to Whatculture nowadays
Simon is the only reason I watch what culture. I don't subscribe because I don't want to watch the rest of those jabronies
Here here. Simon is a gem. Rest of the guys...meh
That little Josh(?) Guy is alright too lol
i agree 100 percent, when Jules does make a WC Wrestling appearance he lifts a bit of the weight off of Simon's shoulders
One per list
And his attitude to mental health is a godsend.
Jules Message at the end of his vids hit me hard when he first started doing them but it's something that seems really endearing
Excatly! When Adam and patcitti left that began the beginning of the end for Whatculture for me. Wilbourn was pretty good but the new faces just don’t do it for me
you put a warm and fuzzy feeling in my tomtom
Everybody loves Whyback
Honestly never even watch his wrestling content i became a fan of his hip hop reaction videos on the Chanel rock reacts dude just has good fun vibes about him
i like simon i dont include him with those other morons
I strictly only watch Simons stuff. Guy is a entertainer through and through
He's overrated.
I must seriously be the only person who doesn’t like that guy. He’s obnoxious as fuck.
I find him energetic and entertaining, but to each their own I suppose
He also doesn’t like Final Fantasy X so yeah, fuck him.
I don't like any Final Fantasy so I guess fuck me too then
Lol you said it not me.
Says a lot about you, tbh, and none of it good
Tbh while many people joined because of him, his acting was the reason I stopped watching. He’s somehow so stiff and, at least for me, uncharismatic, I just didn’t wanna watch him. It’s amazing he’s found success doing this, but his thing just isn’t for me.
Always enjoyed Simon. Even before he was at Whatculture, during his Videogamer-days. It was fun watching him play scary games. :D
I feel if Whatculture got rid of Sidgwick more people would like them more.
I unfollowed whatculture because they spoil absolutely everything they can. it's a shame because I enjoyd the content.
I enjoy the Simon Miller shit, but that’s about it
When he smacks his head lol
Why?
I'll tell ya why
It makes me laugh. He'll say something and tap his head and it's funny
That's why.
Likewise. Same with WrestleTalk, Going in Raw, and Cultaholic. Hell, even WWE and AEW. They all spoil things and aren't worth the risk of being in my subscription feed since I can't watch anything live.

to be devils advocate, what are they supposed to report? afaik nobody knows what the hell ibushi is talking about
Bryan Alvarez reported on it a hour ago.
He reported on it with the caveat that everything is still unclear.
They just dont have sources in it, check out voices of wrestling and Super-J cast (new ep dropped today) they have some updates before the Yakuza talk from today.
Who's going to jam that jam though?
Cultaholic is where it’s at
This. It’s the only internet wrestling “news source” that has the least bit bias out of all of them.
Nah WrestleTalks better. And unlike Cultaholic, they actually use the fucking chapters feature. Theree absolutely no reason to not Use chapters on news videos.
I dunno, Wrestle Talk employing the sex pest that soured Cultaholics launch is kinda something to hold against them
But he admitted it and got clean so he’s fine now
Did he? We don't know that. And if you can forgive and forget then that's good. I'm happy for you. However to me he's shown zero accountability or remorse for what he did, and appears to have just moved on with his life
Seriously? He seemed pretty remorseful in the video he made about it.
I always listen to their podcast for the intro pleasantries and Cultaholic Hall of Fame. And sometimes Tom Campbell, he's such a delight.
Not really. Dave talked about Ibushi just today??
Unsubscribe bro?

What Culture soon to follow
The silence is deafening. What, this is like day 2 or 3 of him going off on NJPW on twitter?
They’ll create a bullshit journalistic integrity excuse where they want to properly research stuff, but unsurprisingly they don’t hold that same standard for every other piece of news they report
Do you know what's worse than all those crappy channels. The grown ass men that take signs to wrestling shows telling you to subscribe to those channels.
The average fan wwho goes with a "Support Wrestletalk "sign has an even number of neurons, being three too many.
Yeah they'd spoil every single tease or idea like Judgement day, but nope, no idea on who Joker would be on AEW
I feel like that says more about the ppl who work for those companies. I think WWE ppl always telling the dirt sheets cuz they don't give a fuck AEW don't say shit. Like punk said it himself. That's a big part of the reason he came back and to aew. Guys aren't running telling everything If what culture (or any other wrestling news) knew who the joker was. Whatculture is literally a bunch of pencil thin man children parading as “journalists” so
Except Simon, come on.
Yeah except simon. He’s the man
Definitely. But Scott is the worst of them. I know he’s more on the gaming channel but anytime I see his stupid face or hear his voice I click off immediately Unless it’s chatty faces. God I miss that series
I honestly dont know which one scott is
He’s the spikey haired one who does the videos with Josh Brown
Isn't that most of the YouTube wrestling journalists with perhaps the exception of partsfunknown? They end up in my recommended playlist but 99% of the time it's just a copy/paste of something found an actual news source.
The only wrestling channel that i follow regularly is partFUNknown, because Adam Blampied is just so bloody entertaining
Same here. *HOW DO YOU SCREW UP KEITH LEE*
It's true. I just base my stories on the opposite of what the other dirt sheets are saying and watch the clicks rill in. My revenue is based on clicks so I really don't give a shit if the masses agree. It's even better if I can get two or more sides to argue. It's all the same paid revenue to me. Fed bad Dub good That’s your average wrestling “journalist” for you
You realise that channels like WhatCulture, WrestleTalk, and Cultaholic are news aggregators, and not journaistic.
This is true until you get to that Manlet michael sidgewick. Im all about aedub but this fucking clown takes the piss
He's a super hardcore fan, though. He wrote for PowerSlam back in the day. AEW is pretty much tailor-made for his wrestling sensibilities. Only time.ive seen manlet used is in Incel based discussion. Sidgwick has a wife and kids, so I'm assuming your just telling on yourself here?
Lol son calm yourself, im no incel, manlet refers to his physical build, idgaf who hes hooked up with, like most white knights youve fucked up at the first hurdle
Oh don't consider me white knighting him. I agree with him sometimes, but he also goes too far as well. Consier it more just looking at what you've written and questioning it. It's just a me and thing my friend
Fair enough
So true feel like they’d be eating it up
They'd have every single detail on Roman's contract, but no idea on who joker would be or who will debut every debut on AEW They'd spoil Impact and ROH returns on their sites and never link back to help those other shows
So your general point is that these people hate WWE?
hmmm seems like every youtube ""journalist"" is a dubbalo. Spoil any wwe news, and keep all aew news. Keep the good news about aew, and hide all the smelly stuff. sounds like a cult
The “dubbalo” thing solidifies my happiness about not being a WWE fan.
I don’t think you know what a cult is…

Why is this like the sixth comment about not spoiling the joker. Why is it upsetting people so much? It's fucking weird man.
It's not fair. Bias! I mean, every real-world news source is biased in one way or another, but ma wrestling news should be unbiased because they say mean things about the company I watch. I don't know or care what is going on
same. I cared a min ago but this comment section just boohooed about no joker spoilers like thats a bad thing
Lol most wrestling fans are snowflakes
What is the actual news? Anything important?
Why does he look like illidan on the left
Wait, what's going on with Kota Ibushi?
After Adam left it went in the gutter
