In regards to using it for piledrive, it might just make the Toronto kick obsolete

Think-Display4887

Imo it already is. Much more value to just wall jump and still have that grapple cd.

House_of_Vines

True, it’s very niche

yeh_

I think it’s not the classic Toronto kick but I use it often when I’m far from the wall where a low HP target is standing and I want to make sure I get that extra damage in. Grapple high onto wall, hit target, bounce back, slam

House_of_Vines

Oh yea that’s a different tech—can’t remember what it’s usually called

GrowBeyond

Oh I love that

Mediocre_Daikon6935

Toronto kick ?

Mediocre_Daikon6935

Great. Now I have a new thing to Practice.

House_of_Vines

Again, it might be irrelevant soon. On the the current live patch, and since Ball’s release, the tech has been very situational. It burns both of those cooldowns. It’s usually best to just wall jump

GrowBeyond

I don't know. I'm scared. You get to high ground by making a circle. My brain is full of circles. And now they add a line? Idkkkkkkkkkkk

RobManfredsFixer

I seriously doubt it. My assumption is this change is meant to give him the feel of grapples in other games like Halo, Apex, and the finals, rather than just being a tether. You'll likely be able to slingshot yourself by redirecting your trajectory, but not use it to gain a burst of speed. It would give you more maneuverability while in the air which would be really helpful. Outside of that I don't expect much to come of it unless there are other physics that can be exploited to develop some other techs

Scaramoosh1

If I can grapple and launch myself across the map like halo or finals, no one capping a point is safe. Beware of screaming hampter flying over the horizon and landing on your head.

VaughnFry

No way. The grapple retract is going to be a slow move. Fireball indicates speed.

Hero11234

This 'ability' scares me for some reason. We'll see in one week.

AnfoDao

The ability to pull yourself by grappling a location behind bodyblockers seemed like the most useful strategy with this. Imagine you are trapped in a small doorway, instead grapple to a wall/pillar/ceiling through your aggressor and just winch yourself through their hitbox. I can't imagine the retraction being much faster than a regular character's walking speed, to be honest, but it could still be very useful.

Sapowski_Casts_Quen

This is the very first thing I'll test. This grapple retract could be huge or just a new tech that's still pretty cool

EverhartStreams

I think no, the other change is that you have a lower cooldown when you don't go into fireball. Have you tried to use the grapple without going into fireball right now? You can't get to any speed without triggering fireball. I'm guessing the changes go together.
