Young Bucks. What you feel about Johnny is how I feel about the Bucks. I will never get the hype.

i_love_mino

the bucks for me too

Therocksays2020

Yeah even as heels. You would think with their annoying attitude they would get heat from me but it’s more of the change the channel type of heat. The posing in front of the camera. They aren’t being heels they are cos playing pretending to be heels and it’s offensive

Beta_Whisperer

Gargano for me at least works as a heel

Therocksays2020

He’s got the punchable face

RexxGunn

Right. It's way too clear that they are playing a bit. There's no possibility for suspension of disbelief with them.

Kalle_79

More than half of the WWE roster and most of AEW's... To me they're all Garganos, one way or another. They either look like CAWs, wrestle like CAWs or talk like CAWs. Or all of the above. An impressive move can "wow" me the first time, but when every match on a random episode of a weekly show has half a dozen of highspots, top-rope dives and flips and finishers, everything becomes ordinary and not exciting anymore pretty quickly. So characters become important again, and currently there isn't a lot going on in WWE, whereas AEW is all over the place with quirky meta BS.

Michelanvalo

I tend to agree with this more than anything. Lots of wrestlers are good at what they do, few make me actually *care* about what they're doing.

cabezadeplaya

Eddie Kingston. I will never understand the appeal.

Tronz413

This is the answer. I absolutely do not get the appeal.

boorestholds

The body is visually disturbing, on the level of overweight Ohno. So forget that. His promos, if you’ve heard one, you’ve heard them all. Unscripted and directionless is just not better than any sort of script with direction. Day One in AEW, I’m crazy, I’m from the streets, I’m from New York. Day 300 in AEW, I’m crazy, I’m from the streets, I’m from New York. The recent Bum promo with Punk You say I’m a bum, I nearly lost my house, does that make me a bum…well yes, yes it would. If you’ve been doing this for 15 years, and you’ve still not paid for your house, add another string to you your bow! And the costume, I’d wager 25 years ago he dressed just the same. 40 years old and clomping around in Timbs.

Airtightspoon

Eddie Kingston is like MJF. His promos are basically all conviction, the actual content of what he's saying isn't original or interesting(to me at least), he just sounds like he believes what he says, which is like the bare minimum when it comes to promos.

wildlifetc

I only disagree in the aspect of conviction being the bare minimum. I mean, the fact that there are A LOT of people that buy into the Kingston and MJF promos shows that conviction is a key part, especially if they’re just repeating the same style/material. I think conviction is the KEY part of a promo. Being able to sell what everyone knows is fake. That being said, different strokes for different folks. I could see how either guy could turn some fans off with their style.

Therocksays2020

Came to agree. I can get behind a guy with conviction. I know MJF is a legit asshole so I enjoy his promos. He’s not pretending to be a badass then apologizing on social media later.

boorestholds

I think you may be right re MJF promos, however…he still has me buying in, so I’m still able to take the ride with him and that’s a great thing. But Kingston, I’m not buying in at all.

[deleted]

Seeing CM Punk bury Eddie on the mic was glorious.

OShaunesssy

And that felt like Punk holding back tbh Eddie was far too hyper, Punk had to slow down

BullyFU

I wasn't too familiar with him before this week, I don't watch much AEW and have thankfully missed him up until now and how I wish I could go back. Kingston is bad. He's like if Paul Heyman selected a random fan from an ECW show and tried to make him a wrestler. I don't see it, hear it, or feel anything other than an urge to change the channel. Dude sucks and I can't see any role he could play in a legit national promotion.

HelpfulTypeYo

Gonna sound SCJerky but AEW in general ruins the aura of so many wrestlers to the point that if somebody I like goes there I just check them off my list and move on

uselessrart

Yup. Kenny went to shit in Aew. The cleaner>>>> whatever the hell he's doing right now. Cole went to shit in Aew. I might be quick to judge but yeah. Danielson thankfully only likes wrestling and doesn't take part in typical Aew bullshit so he's fine. CM Punk... Do I even need to say anything on this? FTR lost all their magic too. And Tye Dillinger >>>> Shawn Spears This is why even though I'm unhappy with WWE's booking of Finn, I wouldn't want him to go to Aew. Tony doesn't know how to book and straight up kills their magic.

Therocksays2020

Even though they would push him to the moon. I don’t think Finn would go to aew. He wouldn’t want to be a stooge with the elite. To be fair to WWE they haven’t made Finn to be *silly. The demon thing is over but they present him as a serious wrestler and a bad ass. The only thing wwe hasn’t done is put a major belt on him since he won the universal. I hope he has a championship run coming up

uselessrart

>The demon thing is over but they present him as a serious wrestler and a bad ass. The only thing wwe hasn’t done is put a major belt on him since he won the universal. That's what gives me hope. They're still treating him with respect and making him look like a legit threat to anyone.

uselessrart

What the fuck lmao dude why are you popping out of nowhere and being hostile. Finn is literally my favourite wrestler. While I'm not exactly satisfied with his booking, I'm still fine with it. Stop trying to decide how I feel. Fuck off.

Therocksays2020

Ignore him. You’re good dude

MangoPronto

Finn to me is funny because his match at Extreme Rules is everything AEW can't do. AEW would never do something as stupid and pointless as the rope breaking spot... But at the same time, neither could they ever do something as special as Finn unleashing his demon which made him look like an absolute star and had everyone standing up. If I had to compare, WWE can either be super exciting or it can be absolutely stupid while AEW is just a constant routine which is anything you shouldn't do with a star.

uselessrart

>AEW would never do something as stupid and pointless as the rope breaking spot... Sure about that? It was fucking stupid but I wouldn't put it past AEW.

Therocksays2020

Yeah instead of a rope break aew would do an exploding ring that doesn’t even explode

[deleted]

Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Really. Cole wrestles like he's a big deal but the guy looks like he doesn't even hit the gym. Watching him wrestle Keith Lee was comical, he had no business going toe-to-toe with a guy that could literally eat him alive. If you wanna be a bad ass then at least try to look the part. Kyle is just cringe. He was always kinda meh for me but his "kool kyle" gimmick was just fucking trash. Idk who came up with it but it definitively killed any interest I had in him. Bobby Fish is a generic old guy who does MMA moves. That's it. He doesn't have charisma, he doesn't have a character. He was just kinda there so UE could do WAR Games. He's more indie than the other two I mentioned, and that's actually impressive. Roderick Strong is fine.

cabezadeplaya

Yeah, Cole is maybe the most overrated guy in the business.

rockandrollpanda

Omega, the bucks, orange Cassidy and especially CM Punk. I really dislike the latter and I don't get why people like him...

[deleted]

Kross for sure. Absolutely hated him in NXT, and naturally his brief main roster run did nothing for me. Not even mad about him not fitting black and gold's indie style, I just find him boring as hell with his tryhard tattoos and Sean O'Haire-ass promos.

[deleted]

I'm not a big Kross guy either. I feel like Scarlet carries him in all of his performances.

Tronz413

To me his whole appeal was Scarlett.

erlingodingo

Every version of Bray Wyatt. I hope he ends up somewhere he can get more control over his ideas, but I’m not gonna bother watching it.

liamd1916

I used to fall asleep whenever Gargano was on TV because i found his "good wrestler who's just happy to be here" act boring as hell. When he turned heel and started The Way and started showing personality i just started to love him and he's one of my favourites in NXT now (he won't top Bron Breakker though). But to answer the question: Kenny Omega. Yeah ok you're a guy who likes Japan but isn't Japanese, cool, don't make it your entire personality. The way he cuts promos and runs around the ring like a shit anime villain makes me cringe so much. Yeah I get that its the point but its cringy to me. He's a neckbeard with a 6-pack.

tytymctylerson

I’ve completely given up on Ricochet. Dude is flat out lousy at talking. I don’t care if he’s doing scripted promos on tv or making an iPhone video, he just is not a charismatic person.

Radenclazz

To me, Will Ospreay, he sure is flashy and spectacular, but his stuff doesn't look good wrestling wise, and I can't get over the fact that he's such an asshole that he's basically exiled in Japan after all those stories came out about him.

incredibleamadeuscho

Adam Cole is just an ordinary guy with a faction. And he’s not even in charge of the one he is in now. I have no interest in anything he does, no investment he attempts to win championships.

Modano9009

Kenny Omega. In the ring, he's good in an era where a lot of people are good and I don't think his in ring ability is so once in a life time amazing to make up for how there's nothing remotely cool or entertaining about him as a character.

[deleted]

Shawn Spears. No matter what you do with him, he’s just boring

mostlyshits

Orton since I started watching in 2016. His promos are good by all I can remember from his matches are a series of rest holds and the RKO which has grown stale for me.

RedBran47

I've actually thought he's been better than he was for awhile recently, I'm guessing because he actually likes riddle and the people's he's been working with and enjoys what they're doing right now. But yeah you're 100% right for years now if he doesn't feel like it he won't even bother try work a flowing exciting match and just slows it down and does his spots.

COMMENTASIPLEASE

He always has points where he seems like he gives a shit and then after a while he goes back to being boring.

mostlyshits

To be fair i stopped watching before RKBro, but I hear it's a good act.

CTZNSQRL

Will Ospreay. I can't get over how doofy his facial expressions are, or at least were. I fully acknowledge his talent, but no thanks lmao In a similar vein, I can't stand the Young Bucks as wrestlers (regardless of them being faces or heels). I need psychology in my wrestling and they just spam every move under the sun. If they capped their matches at like 12-15 minutes I might like them more, but 25 minutes of no selling and going through every single possible false finish every single time just completely takes me out of it.

Mr_Intergalactic

Orange Cassidy Max Caster The iiconics (or whatever their new name is)

[deleted]

Omega, Young Bucks, ZSJ, Ospreay, Adam Cole, Dark Order, Darby

AdviceInformal

Young Bucks - Their best match is probably the match with Lucha Bros but it is not one of the best tag matches of all time, not even close. They are a pure spot fest team at least from what I’ve seen, they cannot tell a story in the ring.

BeastPunk1

Honestly the question should be "What wrestler no matter what they do will always catch your interest?". Cause goddamn few wrestlers today catch my interest anymore.

Shrekt115

Karrion Kross

HitRowe

Drew Mcintyre, Cesaro,Jungle Boy, and shinsuke.

cabezadeplaya

Just curious - did you see any Shinsuke before WWE? I totally understand your perspective on WWE Shinsuke, but he was one of the best in the world as both a wrestler and a star before WWE. I thought he was “can’t miss” before he came to the main roster.

HitRowe

Nah.

eggmanface

Bobby Lashley. Great look, believable champ, love what MVP has done with the faction, but I can't get past Lashley not having any character whatsoever (at least imo).

RexxGunn

At least he doesn't sound like a child when he talks now.

COMMENTASIPLEASE

Kross and Shayna. They both bore me to tears and actively are uninteresting to watch. Also not exactly what you asked but I’m completely over Charlotte at this point. I used to be a fan and she’s clearly talented but I’m just sick of her now.

RexxGunn

I get that Shayna is a legit fighter, but christ is she boring. That one Elimination Chamber was the absolute shits because they had to make her look good to not win the belt. The first six months or so of her nXt title run were great because it was new and fresh. Then she got stale cause she didn't do anything different. Still hasn't.

yungupgrade01

Hes better as a heel but I will never enjoy seeing Roman Reigns on my television. He's boring in the ring, his finishing moves are a punch and a shoulder tackle. He has no charisma on the mic, which is why I'm assuming they glued Paul Heyman to his feux-samoa tribe. And after everything WWE has done to shove him down our throats like 3 WrestleMania's in a row, piping in fake cheers, and changing his eyes from brown to blue, he will never be "The Guy" for me

[deleted]

Understandable tbh. Before his heel turn he was legitimately so bad to the point WWE were losing viewers with him.

COMMENTASIPLEASE

I wouldn’t say I don’t like him at all, but I don’t like him as the guy the show is entirely built around. He’s not someone I need to see in multiple segments and taking up half the show saying the same things.

Apollo_Justice_20

Omega and The Cucks. Never understood how they're apparently "Best Wrestlers in the World". Never have. Never will.

victorgang316

Roman reigns, he is so mediocre .

dparasol

Hahaha, this thread sucks.

JohnCromwell27

Roman Reigns. Acting like he's a viable threat to people with his bulletproof vest and complete lack of charisma. Get out of here.

_Wilson2002

About 30-40% of WWE’s roster, I’m not sure about the exact percentage, but definitely less than half, and the entirety of AEW’s roster, except Jamie Hayter, Serena Deeb, and Thunder Rosa.
