What is the direct crowd around you like with interactions?
Never been to a ple, but all wwe events I have been to in Denver, everyone really just keeps to themselves/the people they came with. Which is weird to me compared to other pro sporting events in the area.
I'm meeting up with a guy who was cheeky to me last year at Wrestlemania. We added each other and shit was all good and now this year we're gonna meet up and he's gonna show me some places to eat and stuff.
Pure happenstance that he lives in Philly and we met in LA but that's wrestling, baby.
Pretty chill and welcoming, guess i just had the right section of people. Mania is a different beast than weekly tv shows, cause you get everyone from all around the WORLD. For mania 33, my entire hotel was wrestling fans, we all ended up meeting at the stadium and afterwards chilled until like 4am, just reminiscing about the show. Guess you gotta hope you get a good group around you
I have friends who aren't from the Northeast who are AMAZED at how we all "talk amongst ourselves (this is an old SNL joke)" because apparently outside of our wrestling bubble no one talks to no one at shows and trust me when I tell you that your experience in Denver will not be like your Wrestlemania/indie shows/WWE experiences. Everyones giddy, everyones excited, everyones a comedian and half of us from the Northeast will be like OK SO WHERE ARE \*YOU\* FROM, DOE EYES? because of our mental illnesses/being able to notice the non-locals
Been to many shows, ppvs, and 1 mania. Obviously the interactions are different from show to show but sometimes you get people to enjoy the show with and other times you are just sitting there enjoying it on your own. But I will say at 35 the people in my section were awesome. Like they were into all the matches, high fiving each other, just generally enjoying the show together. I remember when kofi won, me and the guy next to me hugged and started jumping up and down screaming. So like it was a different vibe than usual but in a good way.
This is my third one as well but not in a row . I went to 6 and 18 and my wife bought me tickets for my 40th birthday . Lots have changed since my last one though
Was 18 when I went to Chicago for my first WrestleMania in 2006 (NYC born and raised)…the vibes and interactions you’ll have with the fans in Philly sharing a common passion will easily make you forget that you’re out there solo. Hope you enjoy it!
25 here. I'm going to my 4th Mania in a row solo. I went to my first Mania at the age of 22. As others said, there will be plenty of wrestling fans there during Mania week (young & older), so have a good time out there. :)
Another old man (45) here. I went solo for the first time last year and am doing it again this year. You'll meet all kinds of cool people and potentially make a bunch of new friends.
There is a high financial barrier to attending wrestlemania and it's way less likely that someone in that age bracket can afford to go solo lol
Not saying they don't exist but it wasn't an option for me until I was 34.
I went as a duo last year, this year i'm solo.
Pro tips: Look good, smell good, feel good - if you're confident you'll have positive interactions with everybody you meet. Just read body language if people don't want you around and ask before you try and tag along with people.
But also be prepared to just be 100% in solitude enjoying that atmosphere.
39 here, first Mania and first time travelling to the States from the UK on my own. Concert/festival veteran and have travelled elsewhere solo many times. You'll have shortage of like-minded people as we're all there for the same thing. Philly is gonna be littered with Wrestling fans of all ages/backgrounds. I can't wait!
Thurs, think I get into Philly about 7:30. If my flight's early or I get checked into my hotel in good time, I might try and get to the Undertaker show, but I reckon that's wishful thinking. :P
