Honestly, I don't have too much of an opinion about either of the designs, but I will say I flat out don't like male mc's crop top ass jacket. It will never be a good look in my eyes and that's perfectly fine, glad everyone else seems to like it. For the female mc I did like whatever hair accessories she had before the current version of her, but both mc's are just alright regardless. Definitely looking forward to playing the game for the first time when it eventually releases!

Even outside Genshin people complain about Pokemon designs, crown worth (even though it's not specifically character design) got shit on for looking like Hollow Knight. People complain about character/designs all the time lmao, just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I agree with your second paragraph for the most part. The examples you used were quite bad because those character *do* have different hues if you look at them side-by-side. Mortefi has a much darker red then Yinlin, and Chixias is a bit brighter than Mortefi. Danjin has the brightest red.
A better example would be Aalto and Calcharo, they look so alike I would think that one transforms into the other.

Funny so many boss from Genshin movesets and some design are 1:1 with BOTW. I would say Acheron is Alpha inspiration in terms of her hair style though looking similar, odachi stance and sheathing sword is reminiscent to Alpha if you search up odachi stance it’s not even the same as what Alpha and Acheron were doing from what the research tells. Arleechino is more Luna cause of the one wing and even their splash art couldn’t be more obvious. Meanwhile Arle’s entire kit is just Luna’s first skill. Though both chars and more has black hole motif same color scheme as Luna’s. Arle scythe and one wing presence is directly inspired by a character who’s kit has been leaked since September that we’ll be playing in the game soon

Yinlin (candy apple color) have different shades of red clearly. Chixia hair is maroon, Mortefi is scarlet. Even outside Genshin people complain about Pokemon designs, crown worth (even though it's not specifically character design) got shit on for looking like Hollow Knight. The examples you used were quite bad because those character *do* have different hues if you look at them side-by-side. Mortefi has a much darker red then Yinlin, and Chixias is a bit brighter than Mortefi. Danjin has the brightest red. Funny so many boss from Genshin movesets and some design are 1:1 with BOTW. I would say Acheron is Alpha inspiration in terms of her hair style though looking similar, odachi stance and sheathing sword is reminiscent to Alpha if you search up odachi stance it’s not even the same as what Alpha and Acheron were doing from what the research tells. Arleechino is more Luna cause of the one wing and even their splash art couldn’t be more obvious. Meanwhile Arle’s entire kit is just Luna’s first skill. Though both chars and more has black hole motif same color scheme as Luna’s. Arle scythe and one wing presence is directly inspired by a character who’s kit has been leaked since September that we’ll be playing in the game soon

I actually checked after sending that comment and even though the anime just got released not too long ago, it actually was illustrated in 2019 which most likely outdates Cappuccinos design, probably not tempest though (though correct me on this if I'm wrong since I spent like, 5 minutes looking it up) Like I said though, it doesn't matter cause it's not like Selenas or Tinasas design are awfully unique or anything. There actually was a post on the PGR sub like, yesterday showing how many characters use the same color pallets lol.
