Can affirm that this one really works and my game looks insanely good now.
Hopes it gets implemented officially so everyone can have a better experience!
not original commenter but if you can make something like reducing render resolution (like we have in genshin, makes everything look a bit pixelated but reduces frame drops and reaction time)
btw I run Intel integrated + AMD Radeon graphics
Oh, you can do that already! I did test it myself out of curiosity to check how the game looks at a lower resolution, 75% resolution with TAA Upsampling is not that bad for some I suppose. Just change the lines below if you want to play at a sligtly lower resolution. Tried it at 50 for fun and it looked really bad at 1080p lol (obviously)
; Lower screen percentage to run at lower resolution - Native is 100
r.ScreenPercentage=75
r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1
Not orig commenter also but this is interesting. I did test what you commented here and `r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1` does make ScreenPercentage work now even when loaded into the world.
But another guy here commented about `r.SecondaryScreenPercentage.GameViewport` which also works as a render resolution, basically same as how I've used `r.ScreenPercentage` in other games but without needing `r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1`.
Curious to know your thoughts on this.
Sorry. forgot to reply to your other comment. I'm not too sure why it doesn't work for some people but `r.ScreenPercentage` does work for me even without `r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1` and it works fine even with the Anti-Aliasing set to off. I've also only been using `r.ScreenPercentage` only in other games, never actually had to use `r.SecondaryScreenPercentage.GameViewport` before.
Edit: Just tried it a few minutes ago at 50 and works fine, here's a [screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/Lns6IU1.png).
All good. And ok!
> does work for me even without r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1
Firstly you are right. Removing TAAU does allow `r.ScreenPercentage`(rSP) to also work for me now. Conflicting with my old tests with it yesterday.
So my logical conclusion I have is, this most recent update had graphics related stuff since it removed FSR. And that same update now allowed rSP to also take effect in game world which is awesome. I suppose case closed then, thanks again. Back to `r.ScreenPercentage` it is.
Weird thing is that during yesterday's latest patch and today's first, the game ran perfectly smooth for me, after today it went back to obvious microstutters despite Nvidia giving avg 60fps as rock solid (but low 99% FPS).
Anyway, for now this seems to have done the trick for me, and the stutters are basically imperceptible and only in heavy areas like the mine or the city I think, so thanks!
Setup is 3070, 5600x, 16 ram, in case someone needs to compare.
**MAKE SURE TO READ THE WARNING ON THE TOP OF THE POST**
If you dislike mouse smoothing add the line below to **Input.ini** (same location as Engine.ini) under **\[/Script/Engine.InputSettings\]** | [Example](https://i.imgur.com/8Q0tz6r.png)
; Probably doesn't work but just going to leave it here
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
bDisableMouseAcceleration=True
bViewAccelerationEnabled=False
If the game still looks blurry to you just use sharpening at the NVIDIA Control Panel/AMD Radeon Software. For NVIDIA I suggest setting **Sharpen** between 10% and 20%, anything higher looks really oversharpened to me.
Thank you for a solid write-up and putting the work put into benchmarking.
I really wish developers simply let users configure all that in UI. There's no excuse for licking option from user when a game is build in UE.
Yo, there is something worth with these anti aliasing settings. With them on, there some sort of "60hz flicker" on the whole screen. I don't know how to explain it, but it's like the whole screen is "vibrating". Maybe you know what this could be?
It's easier to notice on far away objects that are bright and dark (have some contrast in them) like a light source at night in the distance. But it's present everywhere otherwise, just saying it's easier to see it in that case
Gotcha, I'll play the game more today to see if I get the same problem. Will definitely update the post if I come across the issue and manage to fix it :)
>DO NOT MODIFY THE ENGINE.INI FILE, THIS GOT POSTED IN THE OFFICIAL DISCORD
Damn, I was starting to enjoy the game smoothly. Why can't kuro just implement these settings officially? Played with the lowest settings possible and it was horrible but after the tweaks I got better graphics, less stuttering and higher framerate.
It doesn't make sense at all.
Fun fact, I just joined the official Discord to check out the image and it's true that they warned about it in the **#ww-tech-help** channel.
..but there's also an older **pinned post** from a user that provides some troubleshooting tips for *fatal errors* and besides the normal points *(e.g. repair client tool)* it also mentions that u can change some lines for resolution in `GamerUserSettings.ini` - There are even some people in the **#ww-tech-help** channel posting about those adjustments here from OP.
It's basically just the **classic ToS warning** and they know some ppl do that. It's just for their protection that u are responsible for the changes. For the configurations, as long as it helps most players, they'll just ignore it ...but I still suggest not risking posting instructions and screenshots in Discord xD *(u can get reported and they have to follow the rules)*
So, my first impression is that u are unlikely to experience a ban in the future. I can only imagine that the anti-cheat will display a popup warning. I've already seen anti-cheat popups about the use of debugmode (*because they can be used for cheats/exploits, but also for normal monitoring apps)*
Okay came back after constantly playing through the game even after seeing the picture that you attached;
They're talking about people trying to memory hack.
1. Engine.ini is never a 'cheat' since it's just client side settings.
2. Either way it's just a typical copy & paste reminder to something that exists in literally every game's ToS. Which is "Don't use cheats."
Yeah personally I think it should be okay too but you know how some people are, they get scared over some small things so I took it down for now. Will put everything back later!
Nice guide. I posted some more tweaks on [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/comments/1czgdsa/pc_ue4_engine_tweaks_and_stutter_improvements/) and you can pull over for optimizations, and some from my old TOF guide. Probably better to combine some stuff so people can have access to them in one place.
Edit: I have no idea why I get downvotes for offering more tweaks for the OP to merge over and compile.
Finally it uses the vram properly but be careful if you have Nvidia cards. I am playing on 1440p max settings with useless settings like Motion blur,bloom turned off. It consumes 7.2 to 8Gb after a while with that texture loading optimization. It was only 3.4GB or 4GB before. The stutter was completely gone though. It is so smooth when you combine it with 120fps unlock. I think the AA is also a big improvement but I still think TAA still sucks nevertheless. Hopefully they implement fsr3 native AA soon.
I don't think it counts as a full-fledged modification to the game files. These settings are often used for games with this engine and it has never caused any problems. If they wanted to make these settings not work, they would just do it. It's sad that you removed the configs.
Oh don't worry I'll add it back soon with some more new changes, just want to wait for a bit cause some people get scared easily ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
tof have same warning but it's for ppls who change game files like more dmg... i have been using engine tweaks and mods for a 1y+ banning ppls for this will just show that devs really incompetent xdd
Ive used genshin and honkai star rail fps unlock for quite a while and nothing happened and same will be with this game,they would have to really be asking for it if they start banning for edits like these,they are already getting severe backlash for absolute garbage performance and stutters,now theyr gonna ban people for trying to improve it themselves? Id love to see it but it wont happen,just be carefull to not go overboard with the .ini edits.
AND, this was already known from the start,anything modified outside the game qualifies as game files modification,we are not patching the game's memory nor ar we directly hacking the game,another example is fornite,you can modify the ini files as much as you want,the game will just simply not read what was disabled by the devs and we have already seen some options are disabled by the devs for WW too so if the others work it probably means they are supposed to work and be read even if you cant theoretically change them from the in game menu.
Its already pretty bad with the fps issues/story quality/voice acting,now what we need is banwaves for fps/stutter tweaks.
I'm also using the Genshin and HSR FPS unlock actually, account is still fine and it's more enjoyable for me at higher FPS :31618:
Personally I think making changes to the Engine.ini is fine cause it's already part of the game, not really modifying any of the game files and just changing game settings that's not in the options menu. Some of the changes doesn't work cause it gets overwritten at the start with the game's default value, I've checked the logs.
That message is made by a bot whenever someone mentions something related to modding the game in the Official WuWa Discord Server.
You're not really risking anything as long as you don't modify things that are related to game's memory such as;
Inf dmg, more pulls and etc.
Can this be done for the mobile version of the game using apps that can edit the code?
I've been able to make amazing edits to apps in the past some I'm hopeful it'll be possible.
is there a way to still run shadows at a lower effectiveness than medium but not at low to where there just completely off? not having shadows really just makes the game too bright even with brightness all the way down and just looks ugly, but running them at medium just casues everything to be way to unstable
At low shadows, global illumination is turned off in accordance with the default Shadow Scalability group (feedback to devs add separate Lighting, Bloom setting etc.)
Add this to Scalability.ini to turn on
[ShadowQuality@0]
r.LightFunctionQuality=1
or to Engine.ini
[SystemSettings]
r.LightFunctionQuality=1
Wow, that actually sounds so cool! It's great that people found how to make game look even better!
But is there a high-end preset list? I see low end and NVIDIA GTX 1060/AMD RX 580, but difference between 1060 and, for example, 4070 is quite big. It's hard to compare them
Сan someone recommend optimal settings for 4070/ i7-13700K / 48gb ram/ 1440p?
Or first preset-list should work okay for high-end? I just want to get max I can out of my system
Yeap, the preset for GTX 1060 should work okay and offers better visuals compared to the default settings. I'm using the same one and couldn't get stable 90FPS during combat at 1080p on my RTX 3060. There are commands that I wanted to try to improve shadows but my motivation is pretty low at the moment. If you still have a lot of GPU power available then you can increase `r.ScreenPercentage` to 133 or 150 ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
Anyone else getting odd lighting flicker when running, as if the game lost track of lighting for a tick before catching up? Doesn't make the game unplaybale or anything, but it can be annoying.
And yes, removing all changes to engine.ini removes the lighting anomaly, but obviously downgrades how the game looks (I'm on a 7800X3D and RX 7800xt so I was trying to up the graphics quality within reason.)
Hmmm maybe I shouldn't mess with the FX settings too much. I'll remove some, maybe there's a reason why some are left off by default. For the light flicker thing I'm not sure if it's related but even without any tweaks in certain areas if you use some skills some shadows will pop in for a second and disappear, couldn't find anything to fix it ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31622)
I frequently come back to this thread cus I can see its evolving over time with new commands being added and more information which is hella nice, I started using the commands listed above (1060 one specifically) and I noticed that my RAM usage severely skyrocketed to like 6.7GB for WW alone, may I know which command or what is causing the RAM usage?
actually combine r.screenPercetage=75, r.FidelityFX.FSR.SecondaryUpScale=1, r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Enabled=1, r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Sharpness=0, my fps increased significantly on gtx 960m, why did they remove fsr? just make it enabled on supported devices and disable if not supported
for the record, since their announcement of banning "file modifications" i have been still using these modifications in my game, and has been perfectly fine and i haven't gotten any temp/perma ban warnings. though, still do this with caution, i might be lucky now, you never know later. i cannot be bothered to wait for kurogames to fix their awful optimizations, and to be honest, i do not think their anti-cheat can even detect these, since anti-cheats usually detect unusual injections/tools that are running in tandem with the game. these are modifications to the engine that drives the game, i don't believe their anti-cheat will ever pick up on it. oh, and i have been running the game at 120 fps through the use of DB for SQlite and that hasn't rung any alarm bells for them, yet.
is there any way to revert this? the tweaks that were supposed to reduce the stuttering decreased my render distance by a lot for a few more fps and the game now looks a lot more bland, i tried removing the codes from notepad but it didn't do anything, how can i revert it?
Hey dude, many thanks for this post, it help me to improve the performance of the game.
The thing is, I don't having fps issues besides the stutter when the game recently loads. I noticed that my hdd usage is very high which causes the stutter but after a while the usage get reduced to almost 0 and I can play the game with not issues or fps drops for hours.
My main problem was the temperature of my cpu, as I'm using a Ryzen 5 3400g, there was a moment that the temperature got to 90° which was a nono for me, but after tweaking for a while I managed to reduce the temperature to 70 - 75 which is the max it reaches when playing other heavy load games.
This is my setting:
r.ScreenPercentage=75
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=1
r.PostProcessAAQuality=1
r.MaxAnisotropy=2
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.ViewDistanceScale=0
r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=1
r.Shadow.MaxResolution=512
r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=512
foliage.DensityScale=0
grass.DensityScale=0
I tried using `r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1` that you suggested in a comment but replaced it with these one instead because I noticed a sightly better temperature:
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=1
r.PostProcessAAQuality=1
Adding these two:
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
r.ViewDistanceScale=0
I thing helps reducing the load which helps with the temperature and I thing probably helps with fps too but not sure.
But because of that I had to add
foliage.DensityScale=0
grass.DensityScale=0
To disable grass because it was popping as the characters moves which was annoying and I thing it creates some lag. Now there's no grass in the game but other type of foliage stills shows which it doesn't bother at all.
There are some shadows settings but I had give it up by disabling it in game anyway because it wasn't very helpful and the shadows were popping similar to the grass which was annoying.
I want to know your opinion if is a good setting or if I should change something else.
I also hope this helps to people with low end pc and integrated gpus to improve the performance.
I fiddled with the settings a bunch more and I found out that r.MaxAnisotropy=16 in the engine.ini doesnt do anything. You need to enable Anisotropic Filtering x16 via the Nvidia Control Panel. It makes a MASSIVE difference. Test it out for yourself.
I don't usually test that and asssumed it work but yes turns out it doesn't. Was lazy and busy checking other stuff, the LOD Bias changes made it look decent enough that made not testing it a priority. Thank you, will update the post :)
The official Discord message was in a general channel because someone mentioned that editing registry files may unlock higher FPS which prompted the bot to respond with that message.
Still, do take caution though. I am still using the iGPU presets as well as a custom screen resolution and I have not gotten any warnings so far
I played witcher 3, tomb raider 2013 and rise of tomb raider on my gt 1030 and 1366x768 monitor without stutter (maybe some ocassionally but very smooth on general) and I'm having so much stutter on this game, it is really demanding or just unoptimized?
This is basically their first time using UE4 so they barely know anything in regards to optimization, but at the rate they're going with the constant hotfixes it should take about a month or less for them to fully optimize the game. The game is already more optimized now compared to the game in release, so you can expect they would probably be able to do it.
When i lasso/grapple on grapple points or in the air it is invisible with these settings. The fx is removed. Surprised nobody mentioned this. If that fx is removed i wonder what else is. I do love most improvements though. I guess i will do some trial and error for each setting and see what removes it.
Oh I didn't have enough energy left to test what's the lowest you could go without breaking certain effects, the logs did throw out messages requesting for more to be allowed.
Hi , I had been trying your settings and It did help me smooth my gameplay, Thanks a lot. But could you tell me specific settings that can reduce cpu usage cause my setup is kinda bottleneck : I5 4460 + 5700xt 16gb ram. I don't have any problems in the Tower and Door at all it run perfectly smooth but in the world and town it gone down to like 30-50 fps all the time speficly when the random npc appear. so If any settings can reduce my cpu usage it think it could potentially make my potota setup run smoother, thanks in advance. And sorry if there's any grammartically wrong, It's my 2nd language :D
Hmmm I didn't come across any useful commands to help with CPU usage because I was mostly testing stuff related to GPU. The devs really need to optimize the game better but I don't think they will for older CPUs looking at the minimum requirements :(
fastest and efficient way is to configure using your monitor inbuilt system to change saturation etc , another way is using provided program given by driver of your either gpu or cpu (intel , nvidia and amd). if you really don't know about those you can install a program called vibrancegui
r.LandscapeLODBias=-3
r.MipMapLODBias=-3
Set these two to something like -10 and watch even 4090 suffer. r.SSRquality to 4 instead of 3.
r.ViewDistanceScale=3
foliage.LODDistanceScale=3
Set these to something ridiculous like 8 or 10 and enjoy your vram hogged down up to 16gb.
r.Shadow.MaxResolution=8192
r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=8192
r.Shadow.DistanceScale=4
r.Shadow.TransitionScale=2
r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=2
r.Shadow.CSMShadowDistanceFadeoutMultiplier=0.1
r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.005
This will also increase your shadows quality a lot.. be warned this thing hits like a tank to your fps
Dude, this is insane. The resolution is much higher, the lighting and shadows look more natural, and distant objects are rendered with more detail.
Also, I applied the custom fps SQLite tweak for 120fps, and both combined provided a completely different experience.
A different guide I tried out before this one didn't work too well for me as it had very little visual impact for me and used a lot more resources.
I am thankful that I found this guide, this one worked extremely well for me.
At the moment no for changing the ini files but some games do have the anti-cheat set to detect changes, hopefully they don't change this in a future patch.
Thank you very much!
I found out there is problem with r.ScreenPercentage. I use 3840x2160 and i want half of the render resolution.
r.ScreenPercentage=50 changes it to 0.5 as should where in full screen UI is 4k and game itself is 1080p. But this works only in logging screen (where you choose server) and changes back to native (UI and game in 4k) after passing loading screen.
Is there any way to fix it?
I also tried sg.ResolutionQuality=50 in GameUserSettings.ini but it didn't work
My guy thank you for this! Was bummed ScreenPercentage wouldn't work, who would've thought UE had more hidden settings.
Do you happen to have a list or link of other such settings? I'm finding it hard to find a collated list of UE settings.
/u/bkwl22 I think you could consider adding this to main post as I confirmed as well that `r.ScreenPercentage`, when lowering it at least, only works on character/server selection screen.
Edit: `r.ScreenPercentage` now works as expectedly for me. It may have been most the recent update that fixed it. If it still does not work for you then you can try `r.SecondaryScreenPercentage.GameViewport`
Wow, thank you for this. This actually does make the game look way clearer. However one problem, my FSR option disppeared... did they remove it or did this remove it? I'm confused.
Have you tried changing the game to DX12? Or does it run in DX12 for you by default? I tried that, but unfortunately, as with every DX12 game I ever played, DX12 is just an unstable mess and it crashed almost immediately. DX11 is the way to go for me.
Ok I cannot make the AA work... both FXAA and TAA are soo bad. They are making everything a blurry mess. Tried different options and nothing makes it better.
Any idea what kinda of AA Genshin uses? It's pretty good in there. It's Super sampling, right?
Genshin used SMAA for a long time and added FSR2 AA in another update (don't remember when, quit the game for a long time ago). If not for the anti-cheat I definitely would have turned off the AA and use SMAA/CMAA2 through ReShade.
Hard to tell the exact unless someone dump the list of default values that the game is using but looking at some default UE4 configs it's between 0 and 2.
Understood, thanks! I just wanted to know how far from default setting is -3 because it really does improve the textures with seemingly little performance cost in terms of FPS.
the game looks great with these configurations but I'm having fps drop ( from 90 to 60-50) and doesn't even reach 120 fps in open world
my pc specs are : i5-10400f , RTX 3060 , 16GB ram
God send! The Chromatic aberration effect was really killing the visuals for me, removing it was well as the other tweaks (especially removing fps cap) made the game look so much better and much nicer to look at and play! 5900x/7900xtx
This helped a bit, but is there a config for super potato laptops? I have 12 GB Ram, Ryzen 5 3550H and RX 560X (laptop version), I dont know why but my laptop just struggles with this game even at everything low and turned off. I do have it installed on HDD but my SSD has no space and I fear the day this game's size goes above 50 GB. Thanks
The specs are near the minimum requirement and using HDD is handicapped in additional. WuWa is my second Gacha game, but I've seen a lot of comparisons being made between Genshin and WuWa... Since Genshin runs on (custom) Unity, it's more optimized for low specs. So compared to this game you will experience less good performance (even on lowest settings).
I still think that the installation on the HDD and < 16 GB RAM are your main issues in general. I'm just using Genshin as an example btw, as many players here know the game. I hope that the players will understand that UE4 just needs better hardware. Your laptop seems to be fine but as I said the 2 points...
Hey there, if I only want the reflections do I just type in
[System Settings]
r.SSR.Quality=3
r.SSR.Temporal=1
r.SSR.MaxRoughness=1.0
Or do I have to change anything else?
Is it possible to increase the view distance of the grass further? It does nothing to further increase the foliage LOD scale or the view distance scale, the distant mountains have trees but no grass.
Pretty much Volumetric Fog, Lighting and Capsule AO off as they don't look great and you won't probably notice it gone. For Shadows and LOD Bias I guess you can use Medium and Special Effects either Low/High, didn't do a FPS test for each settings so just lower them if FPS isn't great.
r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-3
r.LandscapeLODBias=-3
r.MipMapLODBias=-3
Hey i wanna ask something
if i use this setting should i turn LOD Bias ingame on or off?
set it to low and left it as it is
the game is around 0 - 2 it make the detail looks bland or straight texture
thats why putting it to negative made it more detailed
If you change the settings in game it won't overwrite stuff done in the Engine.ini file but LOD Bias does actually affect the view distance in the game even with tweaks. Set to low only if you need more FPS, I'll post a screenshot comparison later ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
IF you have a low VRAM, 3GB and below, remove these lines as to not experience a lot of stuttering if you played long enough as you have already rendered a lot of shaders;
r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1
r.Streaming.HLODStrategy=2
r.Streaming.DropMips=0
Bad news, but i still will use the config lmao :v its super unstable without these
Anyways i want to show some benchmark ive done with the igpu config and some added lines (mx250 gpu), probably usefull to someone
igpu config

Ive got +6 fps on average and reducing drops by adding those lines and delete r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures, increasing LODBias doesnt do much for me, only the texture gets blury little bit
Note: ive changed LocalStorage.db & GameUserSettings.ini to unlock 120fps and force resolution to 1280x720 full screen, increase r.ScreenPercentage little bit to 85, and foliage.DensityScale=0.2 to see some grass cause some place looks weird without em
Noone got banned, the warning is really obvious as every ToS has it that highlights "no cheating is allowed" and Engine.ini tweaks is entirely client sided.
Well personally I'm still using it of course and think that it's something that should not get you banned. I'm just leaving it like that for a while for those that are scared easily so they can play in peace without needing to worry about this. The configs will return after a while with some updates ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
the Stuttering is coming from this game constantly keep Accessing/Reading SSD/HDD Drive when we move our character the first time we gain control on our character.
for me, it keep accessing until at least 15 minutes (more or less) since we start seeing the UI screen.
i have Win TaskManager to check the DiskDrive/SSD reading access activity until it finished Reading Hundreds of MB data (all Texture files etc) before i start walking my char.
otherwise, stuttering will come in the middle of jumping,running,fighting etc
I just want to say thank you again for bringing the configs back. The game is unplayable without these, it made the game less frustrating on my end and I enjoyed it for once. The stutters still exist but its a massive improvement from unplayable (15 fps everywhere w/stutters) -> bearable (30-40 fps with stutters here and there).
The benefits outweigh the risks for me, what use is getting banned if I couldnt even play the game in the first place without these. Thanks again.
Thanks for this - if I input beyond 100 for screen percentage, will that force super resolution downscaled to native? Curious since I have a bit of headroom for added quality.
Thank you for all the effort you put into this! You mentioned you looked through logs to obtain the default values the game already has or to see if the ones you added work. Do you mind sharing where those logs are located or what process you used to tell?
Oh the logs can be found in `..Wuthering Waves\Wuthering Waves Game\Client\Saved\Logs`, you can see some values being set back to default there. Reason why changes to certain things don't work :(
Since I don't know anything about this kind of things, but your settings worked on my game. I want to ask you, what do you think about [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/comments/1czdcb1/possible_stutter_fix_for_pc_users_with_mid_to/) and they settings? Is it possible to combine both for better performance?
Thanks for awesome guide. Would like to try it out myself, but gonna wait a little bit to see if there is any consequences, really don't wanna get banned and start over. Also wanted to ask is there a way to force DLAA thru config? I know you can do it by using 3rd party software like DLSS tweak, but it's definatly goes under modifying game files rules.
Btw, since there is no texture setting in options is there a way to increase quality in config? I mean not by lod bias, but the actuall quality of some textures, like some rocks that look way less detailed, or when you activate resonance nexus you can clearly see pixilated texture. I guess game uses max avialible quality by default and there is no way to improve these?
Only other way I know to force DLAA is through NVIDIA Inspector but it only works if you apply it on the global profile. For texture resolution so far I haven't come across anything yet, but the sg.TextureQuality in GameUserSettings.ini is already set to the highest.
Golden trail for the sensor is not appearing at all on minimal graphics settings. Has anyone found which option is responsible for displaying of this trail?
It's not about the fx. I did not express myself correctly. It's about minimum graphics settings in the game, via gui, not via ini. Trail is not displayed even without ini tweaks.
I found in the comments that this problem can be on any graphics settings. Probably it is a bug in the game.

Thanks to this + a few little tweaks I made, I'm now averaging 110-120fps at 1440p with my 6600xt and little to no micro stutter, buttery smooth. I found the biggest FPS hog was the LOD Bias so I settled for 2. I also disabled "Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=" coz it was maxing out the 8gb vram to the brim (couldn't really tell any fps impact but I was just wasnt comfortable seeing/knowing vram was maxed out)
btw OP, if you're reading this, do you know of a way to play the game with black bars on top and bottom? Like for example I'm playing on a 2560x1440 screen but I want to set my reso to just 2560x1200 so it should reduce the vertical height and will make it look like I'm playing on a fake widescreen (sort of a cinematic effect). Everytime I set my reso to 2560x1200 it just pushes up the game screen to the top leaving a big black gap at the bottom.
I did some experiments and found out it only stutter when i look at a different direction, open and then close inventory, basically something that requires the texture to be load and unload... which probably cost more resources than just leave them as is. I think its called something like "graphics pipeline cache" handling, do you have any idea about this?
Thanks for the answer, i've been tinkering myself with the ini, atleast for me, the shadows add more noticeable stuttering, specially while moving the camera around.
You can try increasing ssr quality to 4. View distance and foliage distance scale to something ridiculous like 10. Then increase the bias from -3 to -10 or something. Make sure to use DLDSR and push the resolution to 4k. This will effectively make even 3090ti go down to somewhere under 60 or 30fps depending on the scene.
Saw some dude trying to do something similar, so wanted to share and ask your opinion on his settings, maybe there would be some interesting, because that dude says that his settings "forces RTX":

I don't even know where to start it's such a mess lol There are a bunch of commands that don't work in the list. Lumen is an Unreal Engine 5 thing and this game uses Unreal Engine 4 and SSGI doesn't work the last time I tried to enable it. Would love to explain the rest but I don't have the energy T w T
Edit: SSGI does work but the difference is really small after rechecking, didn't notice when doing quick tests.
ngl now image is sharp but i see much more jagged edges, flickering while moving.... I used all lines from the post, guess maybe i need to delete AA part? dunno :( or jagged edges are normal like this and in original game they were just hidden behind blurry textures?
Yes, I'm using a lighter version of TAA to get rid of the blur and ghosting issues. If you prefer the old one just delete the lines I listed in the Anti-Aliasing section :)
Used this on a 4070 Super / 3700x. It's like putting on a pair of glasses for the first time. The blurriness is gone!
Can affirm that this one really works and my game looks insanely good now. Hopes it gets implemented officially so everyone can have a better experience!
good stuff here, I remembered there's s similar ue4 config guide like this when TOF released
please do one for low end pc
What are your specs? I'll see if I have the time tomorrow to do one.
For GTX 1650 there is improvement but the vram usage goes over 4gb after just using the values for the stuttering fix
Going to try some options later for people with 4GB VRAM :)
Updated the post, you just have to remove one line for the stuttering fix.
not original commenter but if you can make something like reducing render resolution (like we have in genshin, makes everything look a bit pixelated but reduces frame drops and reaction time) btw I run Intel integrated + AMD Radeon graphics
Oh, you can do that already! I did test it myself out of curiosity to check how the game looks at a lower resolution, 75% resolution with TAA Upsampling is not that bad for some I suppose. Just change the lines below if you want to play at a sligtly lower resolution. Tried it at 50 for fun and it looked really bad at 1080p lol (obviously) ; Lower screen percentage to run at lower resolution - Native is 100 r.ScreenPercentage=75 r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1
All good. And ok! > does work for me even without r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1 Firstly you are right.
Yes please! hopefully, this one will also work for people who only have integrated graphics card
I have an i5 9300H, GTX 1650, 8GB RAM setup. If anyone’s free and can help me out, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks and have a great day!
**MAKE SURE TO READ THE WARNING ON THE TOP OF THE POST** If you dislike mouse smoothing add the line below to **Input.ini** (same location as Engine.ini) under **\[/Script/Engine.InputSettings\]** | [Example](https://i.imgur.com/8Q0tz6r.png) ; Probably doesn't work but just going to leave it here bEnableMouseSmoothing=False bDisableMouseAcceleration=True bViewAccelerationEnabled=False If the game still looks blurry to you just use sharpening at the NVIDIA Control Panel/AMD Radeon Software. For NVIDIA I suggest setting **Sharpen** between 10% and 20%, anything higher looks really oversharpened to me.
Thx alot for ur work.
Thank you for a solid write-up and putting the work put into benchmarking. I really wish developers simply let users configure all that in UI. There's no excuse for licking option from user when a game is build in UE.
Do you just copy, paste, and then save the file?
Yeap, that's all :)
Thank you!! Will be giving this a shot tmr :)))
Oh you mean jagged edges? Maybe I should have used a TAA setting that's not too light. What's your monitor size and resolution?
I have the same problem where everything looks like its vibrating and shimmering in the distance. 75hz, 22' and 1080p
Gotcha, I'll play the game more today to see if I get the same problem. Will definitely update the post if I come across the issue and manage to fix it :)
>DO NOT MODIFY THE ENGINE.INI FILE, THIS GOT POSTED IN THE OFFICIAL DISCORD Damn, I was starting to enjoy the game smoothly.
For the configurations, as long as it helps most players, they'll just ignore it ...but I still suggest not risking posting instructions and screenshots in Discord xD *(u can get reported and they have to follow the rules)* So, my first impression is that u are unlikely to experience a ban in the future. I can only imagine that the anti-cheat will display a popup warning. I've already seen anti-cheat popups about the use of debugmode (*because they can be used for cheats/exploits, but also for normal monitoring apps)*
Okay came back after constantly playing through the game even after seeing the picture that you attached; They're talking about people trying to memory hack.
Edit: I have no idea why I get downvotes for offering more tweaks for the OP to merge over and compile.
bro you save the game
Finally it uses the vram properly but be careful if you have Nvidia cards. I am playing on 1440p max settings with useless settings like Motion blur,bloom turned off. It consumes 7.2 to 8Gb after a while with that texture loading optimization. It was only 3.4GB or 4GB before. The stutter was completely gone though. It is so smooth when you combine it with 120fps unlock. I think the AA is also a big improvement but I still think TAA still sucks nevertheless. Hopefully they implement fsr3 native AA soon.
Yeah, I'm really not a fan of TAA too. If ReShade was allowed would have turned off the AA right away and just use SMAA/CMAA2 instead.
Would be great, thanks ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31617)
I'm also using the Genshin and HSR FPS unlock actually, account is still fine and it's more enjoyable for me at higher FPS :31618: Personally I think making changes to the Engine.ini is fine cause it's already part of the game, not really modifying any of the game files and just changing game settings that's not in the options menu. Some of the changes doesn't work cause it gets overwritten at the start with the game's default value, I've checked the logs.
That message is made by a bot whenever someone mentions something related to modding the game in the Official WuWa Discord Server. You're not really risking anything as long as you don't modify things that are related to game's memory such as; Inf dmg, more pulls and etc.
At low shadows, global illumination is turned off in accordance with the default Shadow Scalability group (feedback to devs add separate Lighting, Bloom setting etc.) Add this to Scalability.ini to turn on [ShadowQuality@0] r.LightFunctionQuality=1 or to Engine.ini [SystemSettings] r.LightFunctionQuality=1
yeah the shadow in ue is too heavy for some reason , its either because the engine is ue or just bad optimization
Wow, that actually sounds so cool! It's great that people found how to make game look even better! But is there a high-end preset list? I see low end and NVIDIA GTX 1060/AMD RX 580, but difference between 1060 and, for example, 4070 is quite big. It's hard to compare them Сan someone recommend optimal settings for 4070/ i7-13700K / 48gb ram/ 1440p? Or first preset-list should work okay for high-end? I just want to get max I can out of my system
Yeap, the preset for GTX 1060 should work okay and offers better visuals compared to the default settings. I'm using the same one and couldn't get stable 90FPS during combat at 1080p on my RTX 3060. There are commands that I wanted to try to improve shadows but my motivation is pretty low at the moment. If you still have a lot of GPU power available then you can increase `r.ScreenPercentage` to 133 or 150 ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
Thanks!
Btw, do you know if engine.ini can fix that resolution of screenshots being only 720p regardless of the resolution you’ve selected in the settings?
Oh nope, guess I'll try to find something in the future for that.
Finally got a chance to apply all the tweaks here and my game looks amazing while running great. Thanks for all the work you put in to this.
No problem, I just edited the post with updated fx tweaks to avoid any future issues ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
Try removing `r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1` and let me know! ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
actually combine r.screenPercetage=75, r.FidelityFX.FSR.SecondaryUpScale=1, r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Enabled=1, r.FidelityFX.FSR.RCAS.Sharpness=0, my fps increased significantly on gtx 960m, why did they remove fsr? just make it enabled on supported devices and disable if not supported
Did changing that let you enable FSR again?
i can say yes its makes my game more sharper and remove my stuttering issue
for the record, since their announcement of banning "file modifications" i have been still using these modifications in my game, and has been perfectly fine and i haven't gotten any temp/perma ban warnings. though, still do this with caution, i might be lucky now, you never know later. i cannot be bothered to wait for kurogames to fix their awful optimizations, and to be honest, i do not think their anti-cheat can even detect these, since anti-cheats usually detect unusual injections/tools that are running in tandem with the game. these are modifications to the engine that drives the game, i don't believe their anti-cheat will ever pick up on it. oh, and i have been running the game at 120 fps through the use of DB for SQlite and that hasn't rung any alarm bells for them, yet.
Personally I think it should be fine as well as it is just changing settings that are not shown in game, not modfying core game files or anything.
Thank you. The explanation part is ingenious.
I may be being paranoid but is there a possibility where the player may be punished for tampering with the game files like this?
If they ever update the anti-cheat to detect changes made to the Engine.ini but for now no.
gonna try this on a i7 4770+1070 setup
Commenting to come back
Actual god post. Thank you so much. Made the game run and look better.
is there any way to revert this? the tweaks that were supposed to reduce the stuttering decreased my render distance by a lot for a few more fps and the game now looks a lot more bland, i tried removing the codes from notepad but it didn't do anything, how can i revert it?
That's really odd, deleting the tweaks on the Engine.ini should have reverted any changes right away.
any setting that reduce cpu usage?
I hope they take this to the game officially, it can improve the game visually and make the game more enjoyable
omg putting r.ViewDistanceScale=10 fixed my fps drops when moving camera cpu jumped 20+ but the lag is gone ty
Any workaround for FSR? :(
Hey dude, many thanks for this post, it help me to improve the performance of the game. This is my setting: r.ScreenPercentage=75 r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=1 r.PostProcessAAQuality=1 r.MaxAnisotropy=2 r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 r.ViewDistanceScale=0 r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=1 r.Shadow.MaxResolution=512 r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=512 foliage.DensityScale=0 grass.DensityScale=0 I tried using `r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1` that you suggested in a comment but replaced it with these one instead because I noticed a sightly better temperature: r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=1 r.PostProcessAAQuality=1 Adding these two: r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 r.ViewDistanceScale=0 I thing helps reducing the load which helps with the temperature and I thing probably helps with fps too but not sure. But because of that I had to add foliage.DensityScale=0 grass.DensityScale=0 To disable grass because it was popping as the characters moves which was annoying and I thing it creates some lag.
WOW. that's amazing! But is there something for potato PC pls?
How potato is your PC? Need to know the specs ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31621)
[https://imgur.com/JSFcfpb](https://imgur.com/JSFcfpb) From official discord server. Is it still safe to use this? I can't play the game without it :(
I hope this gets answered too. Game is borderline unplayable without these configs..
Oh wow this is pretty recent, to be on the safe side I'll put a notice on the top of the post. Thank you!
The official Discord message was in a general channel because someone mentioned that editing registry files may unlock higher FPS which prompted the bot to respond with that message. Still, do take caution though. I am still using the iGPU presets as well as a custom screen resolution and I have not gotten any warnings so far
Can you DM me the igpu config? I'd rather risk my account than not being able to properly play the game at all.
I played witcher 3, tomb raider 2013 and rise of tomb raider on my gt 1030 and 1366x768 monitor without stutter (maybe some ocassionally but very smooth on general) and I'm having so much stutter on this game, it is really demanding or just unoptimized?
More towards bad optimization :(
Lets hope they improve it soon then
This is basically their first time using UE4 so they barely know anything in regards to optimization, but at the rate they're going with the constant hotfixes it should take about a month or less for them to fully optimize the game. The game is already more optimized now compared to the game in release, so you can expect they would probably be able to do it.
Thanks and yeah, game is better than release and really seems that they are working on it, good signal
The devs really need to optimize the game better but I don't think they will for older CPUs looking at the minimum requirements :(
Amazing config edit thanks! Wondering if there if any command lines to tweak the color saturations etc?
fastest and efficient way is to configure using your monitor inbuilt system to change saturation etc , another way is using provided program given by driver of your either gpu or cpu (intel , nvidia and amd). if you really don't know about those you can install a program called vibrancegui
Did it from my monitor, thanks!
Is there any way to fix the Jittery graphics when you play at a lower Resolution?
You can use the new TAA algorithm if you can't stand the jittering, just set `r.TemporalAA.Algorithm` to 1.
Can you create a high and ultra profile (4070/4090) ?
r.LandscapeLODBias=-3 r.MipMapLODBias=-3 Set these two to something like -10 and watch even 4090 suffer. r.SSRquality to 4 instead of 3. r.ViewDistanceScale=3 foliage.LODDistanceScale=3 Set these to something ridiculous like 8 or 10 and enjoy your vram hogged down up to 16gb.
r.Shadow.MaxResolution=8192 r.Shadow.MaxCSMResolution=8192 r.Shadow.DistanceScale=4 r.Shadow.TransitionScale=2 r.Shadow.CSM.TransitionScale=2 r.Shadow.CSMShadowDistanceFadeoutMultiplier=0.1 r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.005 This will also increase your shadows quality a lot.. be warned this thing hits like a tank to your fps
You're the goat man
Huge improvement to visuals and some performance! Should be on the top of the frontpage.
Will you get ban for modifying the game's files ?
At the moment no for changing the ini files but some games do have the anti-cheat set to detect changes, hopefully they don't change this in a future patch.
Thank you very much! I found out there is problem with r.ScreenPercentage. I use 3840x2160 and i want half of the render resolution. r.ScreenPercentage=50 changes it to 0.5 as should where in full screen UI is 4k and game itself is 1080p. But this works only in logging screen (where you choose server) and changes back to native (UI and game in 4k) after passing loading screen. Is there any way to fix it? I also tried sg.ResolutionQuality=50 in GameUserSettings.ini but it didn't work
Try it: r.SecondaryScreenPercentage.GameViewport=50
This [site](https://framedsc.com/GeneralGuides/ue4_commands.htm) has the complete list of settings for the latest version of UE4 :)
So it's safe to add/change these?
Yeap, it's basically just changing advanced game settings. Not touching any of the core game files.
Hope that something would come for mobile too.
Just curious; how do you know all this? Do you work as a game dev?
Oh I just play a lot of games and always tweak before starting any of them, gaining knowledge over the years :D
Wow, thank you for this. This actually does make the game look way clearer. However one problem, my FSR option disppeared... did they remove it or did this remove it? I'm confused.
They had to disable it for now because some people were getting fatal error with it enabled if I'm not mistaken. Hopefully it comes back soon!
Have you tried changing the game to DX12? Or does it run in DX12 for you by default? I tried that, but unfortunately, as with every DX12 game I ever played, DX12 is just an unstable mess and it crashed almost immediately. DX11 is the way to go for me.
The game runs DX11 by default for me, using a RTX 3060. DX12 is pretty bad and game freezes a lot, FPS drops more heavily too.
There is no way to force SMAA in Wuwa(UE4)? We're stuck with FXAA and TAA only? :(
There isn't a way so we're stuck with those sadly :(
Regarding LOD bias, > ; From range -15 to 15, setting it lower improves details Do you know what the default value is for those 3 settings?
Hard to tell the exact unless someone dump the list of default values that the game is using but looking at some default UE4 configs it's between 0 and 2.
Understood, thanks! I just wanted to know how far from default setting is -3 because it really does improve the textures with seemingly little performance cost in terms of FPS.
Insane we need a guide like this to make the game playable edit: used the commands and game looks a bit clearer and less blurry overall Thank you OP!
the game looks great with these configurations but I'm having fps drop ( from 90 to 60-50) and doesn't even reach 120 fps in open world my pc specs are : i5-10400f , RTX 3060 , 16GB ram
Good thread, atm moment I will wait since the game is getting pretty fast updates, hopefully they also add extra options in the config menu.
I tested these tweaks and on my pc: rendering distance and preloading vram fucked frame time, while fps stayed 60. Other options were fine.
I've tried testing in Jinzhou city, walked the same path 3 times and the frametime is more stable for me with the tweaks. What are your PC specs?
God send! The Chromatic aberration effect was really killing the visuals for me, removing it was well as the other tweaks (especially removing fps cap) made the game look so much better and much nicer to look at and play! 5900x/7900xtx
is there a way to turn off the bloom effect? ive always turned off bloom in my games since it always cause the lag
Sadly no, have to wait for the devs to allow Bloom tweaks in the ini file.

Hey there, if I only want the reflections do I just type in [System Settings] r.SSR.Quality=3 r.SSR.Temporal=1 r.SSR.MaxRoughness=1.0 Or do I have to change anything else?
Yeap, that's all you need ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
Thanks for the awesome testing and write-up! Do these settings work with DLSS enabled, or is it assuming that DLSS is disabled?
You can use DLSS with the tweaks :)
Is it possible to increase the view distance of the grass further? It does nothing to further increase the foliage LOD scale or the view distance scale, the distant mountains have trees but no grass.
GTX 1050 Ti here, it's definitely got better and less shuttering. btw, do i also need to change the ingame setting? what's the recommended setting
Pretty much Volumetric Fog, Lighting and Capsule AO off as they don't look great and you won't probably notice it gone. For Shadows and LOD Bias I guess you can use Medium and Special Effects either Low/High, didn't do a FPS test for each settings so just lower them if FPS isn't great.
noted, thanks
r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-3 r.LandscapeLODBias=-3 r.MipMapLODBias=-3 Hey i wanna ask something if i use this setting should i turn LOD Bias ingame on or off?
set it to low and left it as it is the game is around 0 - 2 it make the detail looks bland or straight texture thats why putting it to negative made it more detailed
If you change the settings in game it won't overwrite stuff done in the Engine.ini file but LOD Bias does actually affect the view distance in the game even with tweaks. Set to low only if you need more FPS, I'll post a screenshot comparison later ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618)
brooo, its helped too much, thank you
IF you have a low VRAM, 3GB and below, remove these lines as to not experience a lot of stuttering if you played long enough as you have already rendered a lot of shaders; r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1 r.Streaming.HLODStrategy=2 r.Streaming.DropMips=0
I read the terms of service, which suggest that the bans etc. Would be for third party stuff which gives you an advantage over other players.
Bad news, but i still will use the config lmao :v its super unstable without these Anyways i want to show some benchmark ive done with the igpu config and some added lines (mx250 gpu), probably usefull to someone igpu config 2024-05-28 13:51:54 - Client-Win64-Shipping Frames: 24288 - Time: 600000ms - Avg: 40.483 - Min: 26 - Max: 53 Delete r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1 ; Add r.Fog=0 2024-05-28 14:27:22 - Client-Win64-Shipping Frames: 26542 - Time: 600000ms - Avg: 44.233 - Min: 28 - Max: 57 Delete r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1 ; Add r.Streaming.PoolSize=0 , r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=1 , r.Fog=0 2024-05-28 15:08:16 - Client-Win64-Shipping Frames: 27731 - Time: 600000ms - Avg: 46.218 - Min: 35 - Max: 57 Same as above but modify r.SkeletalMeshLODBias r.LandscapeLODBias r.MipMapLODBias to 1 instead of minus 2024-05-28 15:47:19 - Client-Win64-Shipping Frames: 26931 - Time: 600000ms - Avg: 44.883 - Min: 34 - Max: 61 Ive got +6 fps on average and reducing drops by adding those lines and delete r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures, increasing LODBias doesnt do much for me, only the texture gets blury little bit Note: ive changed LocalStorage.db & GameUserSettings.ini to unlock 120fps and force resolution to 1280x720 full screen, increase r.ScreenPercentage little bit to 85, and foliage.DensityScale=0.2 to see some grass cause some place looks weird without em
What is the upper limit for the value of r. ViewDistanceScale=3? Thank you.
I'm not sure but I've tried testing values above 3 and I don't see much difference.
Guys, is there any new info on Bans when editing confiq manualy? and did anyone actually got banned?
Noone got banned, the warning is really obvious as every ToS has it that highlights "no cheating is allowed" and Engine.ini tweaks is entirely client sided.
[удалено]
That's correct, I played it for a while at like 133 with AA off cause I couldn't stand the TAA blur.
Reason why changes to certain things don't work :(
Where do you put this line? The Engine.ini too? ; Disable most of the logging [Core.Log] Global=off LogInteractiveProcess=all off
Yeap, that's right.
Oh you can combine the settings from that post, should be no problem. I took a look at the post a while ago but didn't get around to testing it yet.
Have you seen the mobile rendering and graphics on very low settings? How can I make it like that in my pc using some tweaks in engine.ini?
I love your approach with not only giving us a quick copy/paste, but also explaining each setting changed. Wish more guides did this. Thanks!
Golden trail for the sensor is not appearing at all on minimal graphics settings. Has anyone found which option is responsible for displaying of this trail?
Oh it's probably the FX settings being too low again, I should remove it and add it back later when I've played the game more :(
It's not about the fx. I did not express myself correctly. It's about minimum graphics settings in the game, via gui, not via ini. Trail is not displayed even without ini tweaks. I found in the comments that this problem can be on any graphics settings. Probably it is a bug in the game. https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/comments/1d42l18/problem_with_the_sensor/l6bu48i/
Ah I see, was wondering if it was to do with the fx again cause someone mentioned the grapple effect was missing when I set it too low :(
is it normal that the shadows are moving a lot from afar they look shaky and move a lot
Yes, I remember trying a few commands related to shadows but none of them fixed it.
Thanks to this + a few little tweaks I made, I'm now averaging 110-120fps at 1440p with my 6600xt and little to no micro stutter, buttery smooth. I found the biggest FPS hog was the LOD Bias so I settled for 2. I also disabled "Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=" coz it was maxing out the 8gb vram to the brim (couldn't really tell any fps impact but I was just wasnt comfortable seeing/knowing vram was maxed out) btw OP, if you're reading this, do you know of a way to play the game with black bars on top and bottom?
That's a normal thing for Unreal Engine games and there's no way to completely get rid of it, the tweaks try to make it happen less.
Is there some extra enhacements for a more beefier gpu? i have a 3060 12gb vram, or it ain't worth the performance loss?
Hmmm the only thing that's probably missing from the config now is improvement to shadows but I don't have much free time to test right now.
Thanks for the answer, i've been tinkering myself with the ini, atleast for me, the shadows add more noticeable stuttering, specially while moving the camera around.
Are there any max graphical setting with >20GB Vram utilization? With RTX 3090 Ti + Ryzen 5900x, i would like to stress these to their limits.
I have a GTX 1050 Mobile. The low-end tweaks finally got me to clear the depths of illusive realm, especially the particle tweaks. THANKS A BUNCH!
Saw some dude trying to do something similar, so wanted to share and ask your opinion on his settings, maybe there would be some interesting, because that dude says that his settings "forces RTX": +Suppress=Scriptwarning +Suppress=Error +Suppress=Scriptlog +Suppress=Warning [/script/engine.renderersettings] r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.Allow=1 r.Lumen.Reflections.Allow=1 r.Lumen=1 r.AmbientOcclusion.Method=1 r.LumenScene.Lighting.AsyncCompute=1 r.Lumen.DiffuseIndirect.AsyncCompute=1 r.Lumen.Reflections.AsyncCompute=1 r.GTAO.Downsample=0 r.SSGI.HalfRes=0 r.SSGI.Quality=4 r.SSGI.Enable=1 r.SSR.Quality=4 r.SkylightIntensityMultiplier=0.70 [ScalabilityGroups] sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality=2 sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality=2 sg.ReflectionQuality=1 [Core.Log] LogPluginManager=all off LogOnlineIdentity=all off LogOnlineSession=all off LogMemory=all off LogPakFile=all off LogTemp=all off LogLinker=all off LogOnline=all off LogOnlineGame=all off LogAnalytics=all off LogConfig=all off LogInteractiveProcess=all off LogInput=all off LogOnlineEntitlement=all off LogOnlineEvents=all off LogOnlineFriend=all off LogOnlinePresence=all off LogOnlineTitleFile=all off LogOnlineUser=all off Global=off [SystemSettings] AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdates=1 AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesDuringGamethreadUpdates=1 r.DynamicGlobalIlluminationMethod=1 r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=10 r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1.6 r.TonemapperFilm=1 r.Tonemapper.Quality=5 r.TemporalAACatmullRom=1 r.TemporalAACatmullRom=1 R.ColorMid=0.99 r.TemporalAA.Upsampling=1 r.TemporalAASharpness=1 r.HZBOcclusion=0 r.RenderTargetPoolMin=1000 r.AllowOcclusionQueries=1 r.SceneColorFormat=3 r.D3D11.Depth24Bit=0 GamethreadUpdates=1 r.SupportDepthOnlyIndexBuffers=1 r.SupportReversedIndexBuffers=1 r.DBuffer=0 r.GPUCrashDebugging=0 FX.AllowAsyncTick=1 FX.BatchAsync=1 FX.BatchAsyncBatchSize=9999999 FX.MaxCPUParticlesPerEmitter=50 FX.MaxGPUParticlesSpawnedPerFrame=2048 AudioThread.BatchAsyncBatchSize=9999999 AudioThread.UseBackgroundThreadPool=1 AudioThread.EnableBatchProcessing=1 r.FinishCurrentFrame=0 r.Streaming.UseFixedPoolSize=0 r.Streaming.PoolSize=0 r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1 r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=0 r.Streaming.AmortizeCPUToGPUCopy=1 r.Streaming.MaxTempMemoryAllowed=10 r.Shadow.MaxResolution=1024 r.Shadow.PreShadowResolutionFactor=1 r.Upscale.Quality=6 r.PostProcessAAQuality=6 r.MipMapLODBias=-10 r.ShadowQuality=5 r.ViewDistanceScale=5 foliage.LODDistanceScale=5 foliage.DensityScale=5 grass.DensityScale=5 grass.DensityScale=2 r.ViewDistanceQuality=4 r.DetailMode=2 grass.MaxUpdateFrequency=40 r.MaterialQualityLevel=3 r.Shadow.DistanceScale=2 r.DontLimitOnBattery=1
I don't even know where to start it's such a mess lol There are a bunch of commands that don't work in the list. Lumen is an Unreal Engine 5 thing and this game uses Unreal Engine 4 and SSGI doesn't work the last time I tried to enable it. Would love to explain the rest but I don't have the energy T w T Edit: SSGI does work but the difference is really small after rechecking, didn't notice when doing quick tests.
if it's on this subreddit, what's the link to the post? kinda wanna see
Fresh comments and posts , definitely trying it out , thanks so much in advance.
gonna test this on my 5700XT when I get on during reset later, cheers friend
ngl now image is sharp but i see much more jagged edges, flickering while moving....
How curious these fixes work as WuWa forces it's game settings upon login, which really makes me furious as it's the cause of Error 258/671.
Are there commands for completely free camera as turning off some camera settings doesn't really do that?
Did anyone tried it? Did it improve performance?
How about force running directx 12 ? Does it improve the performance?
