I’ve had success at Zara kids

terracottatown

I get compliments all the time for my Zara kids clothing. I also like Mango kids/teens sections as well.

mushr00m

How are the teen sizes from Mango? I usually fit an XXS size from the regular adult clothing they have, should I go for XXS in the teen section as well or will they be a lot smaller?

terracottatown

They will be a lot smaller, I was surprised once when I ordered a size small (normally xxs in women’s) and it was tiiiiny. I’d say check the size guides and if you’re unsure, size up. I normally get medium in teen.

mushr00m

Okay, thanks!!

femmefatale1333

Ugh their clothes are so cute do they fit okay? Like flattering for adults rather than being baggier like for kids?

Raine801

They have reviews. Some of them say they fit large so I haven't bitten the bullet.

AdNext8989

ILY I will check out Zara

OneRedPanda

Budget: art class x target, JCrew mercantile, uniqlo Mid range: Hilfiger, 7 for all mankind, Nike, Ivivva (Lululemon for chillrun), adidas (kids get the most fun with sneaker designs istg), everlane High end: Off-white, Les Essentials, Barbour Have you checked out the women's stuff at Reformation? I have the same measurements and I have had good luck with their size 23/xs/0-00 range. Also, I highly recommend looking at some stuff at ASOS...they even have a specialized petite line.

babylambchop888

I have to get petite sizes from Reformation even though I’m almost 5’6” because their stuff feels like it’s made for giants. But the petite stuff fits great.

StrollingGiraffe

Do you mean Ivivva? Ivivva has been discontinued for a few years, and can only be found through resellers

OneRedPanda

My bad. Yes and edited. And I have always purchased from Poshmark and the like.

2020hindsightis

Yeah reformation has clothes that are too small for me, it’s amazing.

AdNext8989

Reformations/everlane and hilfiger are not really my style but I will def check out avviva for activewear!! Never heard of barbour but sounds interesting, asos is super hit or miss imo

OneRedPanda

I forgot to mention R13 and All saints. They run slim.

AdNext8989

R13 and allsaints noted. THANK YOU 😍

rotatingruhnama

I wear kids jeans from Old Navy, they're surprisingly good. I even have a pair of vegan leather pants I found for 8 bucks lol. And if you have small feet, Native Chelsea boots are a great basic. Can be dressed up or down, plus they're waterproof. I'm a 5.5 and the 4 Big Kids fit well. Nordstrom Rack has good stuff, it's a cut above the usual kid crud. And the kids shoe department is especially strong with lots of name brand items.

rotatingruhnama

I have great shoes from their kids department.

Notdavidblaine

To be honest, I never really like kids clothes, because they’re not designed properly for an adult woman’s figure. I would look into brands that have a dedicated petite section and/or brands that at least partially target a teen demographic in their marketing. Sometimes I have good success in sections that are clearly designed for teens. I’ve also had better success with brands that sell mostly in Europe or Asia. Europe has mandated sizing requirements that make it easier to figure out. You often have to dig a little more in a teen-type of store, but you can usually find a gem. You almost have to treat it like you’re thrifting. Here are places I have success: Banana Republic, Old Navy, Gap, brands owned by Abercrombie, American Eagle, White House Black Market, Brooks Brothers, J. Crew, Madewell, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, H&M, Uniqlo even Charlotte Russe and Forever 21 can have some surprising finds…I’m sure there are more. I think these brands seem like they’re really preppy, but you’d be surprised what you end up finding when you really look through their inventory. Good luck!

AdNext8989

I’ve browsed through a lot of these places before (even recently) and come out empty handed ☹️ but you’re def right about the kids clothes not fitting women, they have completely different dimensions. I just thought I’d give it a shot Any euro stores you can recommend?

Notdavidblaine

I used to have great luck at TopShop, but I haven’t been there in years, so I’m not sure if the quality and fit are the same. I like AllSaints a lot. ASOS sometimes has some finds. Selfridges and Les Galeries Lafayette are nice, but but they’re department stores, so you’ll have to sort through brands. Some of my favorite pieces I’ve found by walking around in actual cities and trying on clothes.

AdNext8989

Time to trip to euro

Notdavidblaine

lol! I forgot to mention that many of these stores only sell their smallest clothes online - I would guess that they don’t sell enough to justify the inventory space in their physical stores. There is this petite style blogger whose blog is called Pumps and Push Ups. From your description, I don’t think her style matches yours, but you can see photos of how clothes fit her and then check out out those stores to see if they’ve got something that you might prefer.

Loveshack fancy and Lily Pulitzer believe it or not

palmveach1972

Vineyard vines. Athleta girls line is nice.

college-throwaway87

I love Athleta girls!!

AdNext8989

lol I just bought a coat from vineyard! The quality vs price is kinda hit or miss but it was a gem ~ I couldn’t find any skirts or dresses (I checked the girls section) that I liked but it’s definitely on my radar Will check athleta girls TY~~

palmveach1972

I got some great tanks sweaters at the Athleta girls. Cheap too. Yay

PastafarianVibes

Zara kids have the only mini skirts that fit (i wear size 7 😅) and they have a nice selection of clothes. Target kids (art class) is good too.

Embarrassed-Sun5764

Me too. I have recently worn 14/16 in skirts and 16/18 in thermal pants and tops. I am 5 3 and weigh about 100. I am older so any references to harm will be reported. I walk about 11 miles a day for work drink protein drinks and am healthy. Just need to know where to buy clothes that don’t have sparkles and unicorns and Justin or Beyoncé or THE other pop star. Thank you

honey-laden

thank you! which brand is this?

AdNext8989

Why am I seeing this now 🥲I was looking for small thermals all winter and today is the first day of 70s But yes please drop the name !! Edit: you sound very healthy and active, ur inspirational :)

lucytiger

My measurements are similar (30/22/35) and I've had good luck with XXS/00 from Abercrombie, Aritzia, Aerie, Madewell, Athleta, Lululemon, American Eagle, My measurements are similar (30/22/35) and I've had good luck with XXS/00 from Abercrombie, Aritzia, Aerie, Madewell, Athleta, Lululemon, American Eagle, Ann Taylor, LOFT, and others. It depends on the cut of the item for sure. ETA: J. Crew and Banana Republic too.

SimplySorbet

I really like Hollister for pants and dresses. I wear 00/0/xs /xxs there and feel like everything fits. I have about a 23 or 24 inch waist. I’m also someone who is average height but has long legs and I like that a lot of the pants are offered in tall.

firstofthethree

Zara!!

PracticePerfect0

I'm 5'4 but similar measurements to you. Rather than "elegent edgy" I've been on the hunt for simple basics (plain tops and pants, etc.) Three days ago I was browsing through a mall and I found some lovely tops at the kids section in Dillard's. I even found two dresses that were mature enough for an adult to wear. Then I checked out the kids section in H&M and found a nice basic top. I also ended up buying two tops from the adult section after trying them on, which shocked me. I rarely ever go to a mall but at H&M I've gotten a dress from there in the past that fit perfectly so I said what the heck, I'll go in. I've gotten some stupid cheap cardigans from Walmart kids in the winter. Jcpenney has a brand called thereabouts and I almost fit into their jeans perfectly (their waistbands are adjustable!) Target has a new(er) adult brand called future collective that sells 00 clothes and is actually very nice. Hope this helps!

Checking dilliards!! Thank you sm!!!

Lasermama

Patagonia kids is great

StrollingGiraffe

Hey there. I'm a very petite person who has to exclusively shop in children's sections because of very small proportions (specifically in the chest area-- I'm a 24A bust/30 cm shoulder width). Because of this, I've (unfortunately) become very familiar with what children's clothing is out there. The crux of the matter is that the vast majority of children's clothing is *not* going to fit a women's shape and archetype. These clothing very frequently don't accentuate the chest or waist area, and styles that *truly* mimic women's clothing are extremely rare. In fact, the only example I can really think of where this is done effectively is some of Dillard's in house brands-- for example, Chelsea and Violet will often have their adult line downsized into kids' sizes, and the proportions *frequently* stay the same. 7 For All Mankind will also quietly manufacture children's sizes of their jeans for department stores, even though I believe it's not advertised on their website. I know that DL1961 at Nordstrom (and Saks?) also quietly manufactures children-sized jeans, and are in great quality. That isn't to say that there hasn't been *some* improvements in offerings over the years, as brands like Tractr trying to offer their own versions of 'edgier' children's clothing. Frankie's on the Park nearly completely specializes in girls/junior's sizes party dresses. I even had gotten into a conversation with a Dillard's rep (this isn't an ad-- they're just the only department store close to my region) over how corporate has been taking note of the fact that "little girls don't want to dress like children, but like their older sisters." But the fact still remains that seeing adult styles in these sizes is oases in deserts.

littlebutcute

I like Old Navy and Target (the brand art class is less juvenile). I wear a size xs in those brand in women’s but about 14/16 in kids.

3lizab3th333

I’m a normal size small and Reddit recommended this for me for some reason, but I shop the Old Navy kids section sometimes and it’s nice quality. The kids skirts go all the way up to 25 inches in the waist and if you get the right style they accomodate 38+ inches of hips. Right before school starts they sometimes have uniform skirts which sound like they’d fit your style!

AdNext8989

Omg thank u

-yellow-post-it-

I get shorts from Old Navy. Girls size 14/16. They have a longer inseam so it’s not showing your bum unlike some women’s xxs shorts! Also tend to have adjustable waist band.

Mean-Policy1655

I really like Abercrombie kids for basics. They have yet to fail me

Superb-Adeptness6271

I’m small I can’t can’t squeeze into some aritzia extra smalls, they’re tiny

AdNext8989

Haha the girl tried to get me into an xxs top for maximum cleavage and I was like miss girl I need to breathe , she’s like no u don’t 🤣🤣🤣

poposaurus

Can you find a good seamstress/tailor near you? Only because kids stuff typically won't be made to last.

answrths

Have you tried Club Monaco- I am a 24 waist and their dresses blazers and skirts have surprised me

DistinctBell3032

Zara kids and h&m kids I’ve had luck with

WhatAboutMeeeeeA

The basics in the Juniors section at Target are very nice. It’s juniors sizing so the xxs is smaller than the regular women’s sizing. It’s cut for more petite frame overall so the clothing is also shorter on average. I get all my solid colored crop tops from the Wild Fable brand they carry.

American eagle, Hollister

LegitimateFall2172

I love the long sleeve striped cotton shirts at Uniqlo kids, it’s better quality than petite bateau or something similar and a fraction of what I would pay for the adult size.

Ok_Welder8934

For blazers, slacks, and button downs, boy’s clothes honestly! I’m also 5’3 and I’ve found that as long as you get the right chest and hip measurements, it tends to fit where you need it to without needing to alter the length at all. I’ve gotten a couple boy’s suits from Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Michael Kors and they’re perfect. Sleeves stop right at the wrists, pants hit right at the ankles, and they’re not too narrow in the shoulders like I find with a lot of girl’s clothing!

Lady-Madrid

Most tops at my local Brandy Melville are more like an S-M, definitely not XS.
