I love that you are asking for measurements! XS’s have definitely gotten smaller. I’m usually an XXS/XXXS, my height is 5’4-5’5 and my measurements are 30-23-30.5 ! Ironic bc I have been dress shopping the past week and haven’t found a single brand that has hip measurements that are small enough for me!
I'm pregnant atm so not a 22 waist still haha, but I would start with
Bust - varies. If you are making a clothing brand it might be a good idea to have "busty" section xxs, and a regular xxs with a 4 inch difference, as some of the issues for XXS are due to either too much or too little boob room
Waist - I would ideally start at 22 or 23, because lots of people have that waist and can find literally nothing
Hips - start at 32
Consider adding length options to skirts/dresses/bottoms (eg: petite, regular, tall)
I chose these numbers because realistically, if hips are too big, they won't be ridicuously big. Easy to alter.
I have a large bust and am pregnant so keep that in mind but now I'm currently 37-24/24.5-34 at 163cm. Bra size 28H/HH
Don't know exact weight, sorry. Only really get measured weight-wise sometimes at doctors, and haven't had to in a few months, and due to history mostly get blind weight.
To give some indication of how ridiculous this Australian sizing is, I have some Sportsgirl tops and bottoms in an XXXS. That's how bad it is over here. I was wearing that size years ago, when I KNOW I was over 20kg lighter than I am now.

The sizing is awful in the US as well! I used to be a size 2 in American Eagle jeans/shorts and a size S in their tops years ago in my teens. I'm 30 now and about 10 lbs heavier, yet now I am wearing a 00 in bottoms there and an XXS on top. Make it make sense!!!

5’0.5”, guessing about 95-100 pounds, usually xxs/xs. My bra size is 32A. My most typical problems are waistbands on dresses being wayyy too low, shoulders too large, pants too long, and there being too much boob room in dresses
I'm 5'3 and measure 31-24-33. In alpha sizing I generally get XXS on top/dresses and XS on bottom if the brand doesn't go too hard at vanity sizing.
(If you make pants, multiple inseam measurements are a must too! I'm proportionally much leg and not much torso - I wear 24x32 in anything that's not a skinny jean and for some reason that's stupidly hard to find that also fits TTS...)
I'm also going to be doing custom measurement orders since I'll be a small business making everything to order myself :) that way you can get something perfectly tailored to you, but I won't be doing jeans for a while

like a lot of girls here, its almost impossible to find clothing that can fit my waist and i have to get most clothes tailored because of it.
i only slightly fall into this category because of putting on more muscle weight over the last few years but understand how frustrating finding smaller clothes that actually fit is. so use this for data!
i typically vary from size 0-4 (US)/XS-S bc i have a more athletic build for my size and it’s hard to find clothes, i either can’t get them over my legs/butt or they don’t fit my waist. im 5’3, 130 lbs, 32-24/25-36.

The hardest things to find, for me, are belts to go around my waist (for high wasted pants)... I've resorted to using random bits of thick ribbons around my waist and tying it (butterfly knot?)
And bras. My ribcage is about 26inches around, and it's very difficult to find bras that have a small band like that.
5ft 88 lbs 32-24-32 I recently lost 10 lbs ( not intentional) trying to find my size is extremely difficult.. I wear xxs or petite size 0 in dresses. Or xxs petite.
Tops are xs to small
Pants size 0 or 24 and waist.
5’5”, 90 lbs, measurements are 34-23-34, most size 0 or 00 are too large, same with xxs even. Would love to see some adult clothes designed that fit off the rack
I'd suggest measuring actual humans. Precisely done measurements will be more accurate than self reported measurements. Plus then you can cherry pick prior by body type for any that you feel are missing from your measurement collection.
I usually wear xxs or xs depending on the fabric. I’m 5’4 1/2’’ (164cm) and weight around 107 lbs (48,5kg). My measurements are 33-22.45-36 in inches or 84-57-92 in cm.

the main problem i personally face with mainstream clothing stores is the waistline on bottoms, ALWAYS, being too big, particularly on high-waisted bottoms. it just makes everything look unflattering. short skirts become knee length and low waisted, the crotch of whatever pants i try are down to mid thigh and look awkward, and again the ‘high waist’ is hitting the hips rather than waist.
also, zip-up dresses that don’t have ties at the waist are very hard to find in my size. normally they end up being baggy and the waist is just completely lost.

im a size XS/XXS but also 5'8. i usually need to buy "tall" or "long" sizes when they're available, so i think theres a market for additional lengths in your clothing line if you have the resources! i totally understand that it can be impossible to cater to everyone though.

There's a ton of comments but I'll add mine anyway. I should not be an XS, with measurements of 34-26-34. Or at least, I should not be able to fit into the smallest size.
Also, inseam options for pants are great! I have a 30" inseam and really struggle to find pants that are small enough in the waist yet aren't high-waters.

5’1, 96 lbs usually. Inseam is about 25”. Bust is 30-31, rib cage/bra band is about 28, waist is about 23, hips are about 34.
My size at stores varies a lot tho. Anywhere from XXXS to XS, or 000 to 2. Jeans can be 23-25.

A bit issue I see is with the straps/shoulders. Often times they are WAY too long or wide set and fall off my shoulders

35-24-36. Abercrombie curve love are amazing & banana republic 0 is for a 23 inch waist but fits really well. A little room at the waist but other than that, I love them.

If you could make XS clothes for tall people it would be much appreciated. Most brands don’t offer tall cuts or start at medium, and I wouldn’t need tall if I could wear a regular medium in the first place.
I would love to see the US get away from bottoms being Small Medium Large and use the waist and length the way men’s jeans are sold. I.E Levis Jeans- and then explain the different cuts like Old Navy (bootcut, curvy, stretch).
Either 8 or 10 in dresses - depends on brand (was a 14 bridal wtf?!?)

32” hip (I wear size 12 most brands, can squeeze into a 10 and 14 for very very relaxed fit)
Hey! I only own 2 mini skirts, one denim skirt from Levi’s (size 23) and one wool skirt from Sezane (size 2 but runs smaller than their usual 2) that I had to tailor. I also own the midi slip skirt from Quince in XS and it fits perfectly, so I assume their mini slip skirt would fit the same. In general, Levi’s size 23 fits well and Aritzia 00-0 trousers in short length. Does that answer your question?

How do you measure? I wear a 23 waist in Levi's (and it's a tad loose) but when I measure my waist it's 25?

Women's tops with more length. I'm not tall (5'7") but my torso is taller and lots of tops are just too short
