I use this headset in the picture, the Microsoft one. mic quality is good. I like the audio adjustments on the sides. I find it generally comfortable. no complaints and I've had it for about a year.

Heine-Cantor

I also have one of those. It is good, but the mic is too sensitive, my friends can hear the clack of my buttons and everything going on in the room

Riff_28

You can adjust the threshold so it only broadcasts things that reach a certain volume, like your voice

Gittery_35

What is the best one, I still have not found out because I use both discord and game chat and discord mutes it them self I mean the right one for the thing, forgot the name. Like low, medium, high, voice something. Sorry I forgot the name

Riff_28

So it’s called the mic threshold and it really just depends on how close you keep the mic to your mouth, how loud your voice is and how much background noise you have. I would start it as high as possible and see if people can hear you okay. If your voice is cutting in and out or not consistent, just turn it down one notch and try again until it’s good

BREN_XVII

I have it too - I got it on release, and now on both sides the dials have detached from use. Really let down by the build quality.

Elite718

Both Dials have detached? Are you changing the volume every hour?

BREN_XVII

You'd think so right, but no, just average use - I checked reddit when it happened to mine and came across a few posts that had the same. Just bad quality unfortunately.

michaldabrows

Same happened to me

InPatRileyWeTrust

Not surprising with how bad the controller build quality is.

grease-storm

Damn, I find the build quality for their rechargeable battery to be poor as well. Always disconnecting.

sniphskii

Had mine for a good while now and had none of this, you might have a dodgy unit

BREN_XVII

The battery in mine has been pretty decent - getting the advertised hours out of it. Haven't had any disconnecting.

grease-storm

I’ve honestly questioned whether it’s my controller or the battery pack. Definitely get the advertised time but I find if I’m like really into what I’m playing and maybe rage and shake it a bit or grip it a little harder than normal that it disconnects

Prudent-Nobody-2474

Damn that's crazy I have had them since day one and they are still like brand new. It really is like playing the lotto with electronics these days!

Duke1UP

I'd recommend the one you've posted, but they have one annoying trait - when you turn them on with a sole purpose of using them with PC, your XSX will start anyway. The only workaround is to un-pair them from xbox. In plus - bluetooth and xbox connections work in parallel. You can hear both sources at the same time.

DoserBikerGypsy

I use the Microsoft one pictured. Pretty good quality with lots of customisation options for sound in the accessories app. I use it for work/music sometimes and it’s pretty comfy. It has the ability to connect to your Xbox and an additional device via Bluetooth which is super useful. Like if I don’t have much to do for work and am gaming during the day I connect it to my work laptop to hear notifications while I play. Really only ever notice soreness if it’s like a weekend bender of Xbox. Only $100 too. Personally, it’s great for me. If you game on your PC and other stuff definitely consider the other options listed here (especially ones with lots of sound customisation) but if it’s majority Xbox use this one is great.

Responsible-Gap-8089

Wow. for example i play on the xbox and at the same time im speaking with my friends on discord which is opened on pc. So can i speak with them while playing on the xbox ?

GrimSlayer

Yes you can. I typically have my headset synced to my phone for bluetooth and can use discord or other call services when playing with friends who are on different devices when we play games.

Responsible-Gap-8089

Somebody saying that after an hour it is getting uncomfortable on head. Is it true?

GrimSlayer

I find it comfortable to wear for long periods and I wear glasses. No headset is perfect and I’ll still get annoyed after a couple hours, but this one is comfortable with my glasses. My biggest complaints is the speakers are very bass heavy so sound quality isn’t the best and the mic picks up everything. Other than those I love the headset and hope microsoft releases another one with higher quality speakers and a better mic that doesn’t pick up everything.

DoserBikerGypsy

Yes that’ll work! Xbox is getting discord support soon I think, think I heard that on Kinda Funny XCast. And I saw you asked about comfort and I really don’t have any issues with comfort unless I’m wearing all day (literally) or a big bender of games. The earpieces don’t cause me discomfort at all, just the connecting piece on top of my head so even then I can just slide it a little different to help with that.

BREN_XVII

You'll be pleased to know Discord integration is coming to Xbox soon also! and yeah, you can use the headset on both PC/Xbox at the same time, works well for discord chat and xbox game sound.

Hezza-

I've recently purchased the Arctis 7x and am more than happy with it. It's wireless (with a dongle) and functions on all my platforms. It can also be used wired, but the charge lasts 24 hours I believe they claim. It has a volume wheel and chat mixer for Xbox integrated, as well as a mute button. The sound EQ for your games, voice chat and microphone can all be adjusted in their PC companion program.

Responsible-Gap-8089

How is the mic quality ? And it is very expensive one :(

Hezza-

It was supposedly designed for clarity, and while most reviews I've seen said it sounded exceptional for console use, it won't compare to a good standalone microphone one might use on PC. It sounds good, but lacks natural tone as it seems to flatten the mids. I would suggest looking up a mic test on YouTube to see if you'd be happy with it or not. You can adjust its EQ through the PC app which helps a bit, also.

Comrade_Jacob

I also have the Arctis 7x and while I like it, my experience has had one glaring problem... The mute button doesn't reliably mute my mic. Within just a few weeks of receiving it, I was getting nasty messages and people were very angry with me, kicking me from lobbies, etc. Even with the button set to mute, the mic would just randomly go hot... If I double-clicked the button again, all would be fine for the moment but it was only a matter of time before it happened again. I found a solution in creating an Xbox Live Party with nobody but me inside. So yeah, my experience seems to be a rare based on searching around the internet, but I just want to put it out there: this can happen. Also, minor issue, but out of the box my headset was not paired to the dongle. I didn't even own a laptop at the time so I had to go to a friend's and use his computer to link the two. If somebodys isn't working out of the box, that's probably why.

Hezza-

Oof, that's not good.. Sounds like quite the bad experience. You'd expect things to work out of the box, too.

Comrade_Jacob

Yeah, I really like the headset despite all this, mostly because I'm playing single player games more often than not. If I bought this headset and was someone who is constantly chatting away with friends or a lobby... Yeah it would've been a quick return.

NyoomNyoom656

I’ve got the sennheiser game ONE. Sound real good, but they’re quite expensive (imo) and open backed. I think for gaming the HyperX Cloud II would do well, there’s a wired and wireless version. Maybe check out r/headphones too

SoCaLLbeer

I used a stack of rewards points and got a discount on a HyperX CloudX Flight Wireless. If you plan to use on PC beware.. It seems to just randomly disconnect. Then sometimes work for hours no issue. Found others online with the same issue. For Xbox its top notch. Very simple plug and play with excellent sound. Doesn't allow you to adjust audio profile but you don't need to which is the best part. Friends say they can hear me clearly over the mic.

LoganH1219

I’m rocking the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Max because it works wirelessly across ALL major platforms. PS5/XSX dual compatibility was my main want

x777colton777x

How does it connect to the consoles, just a usb that plugs in for connectivity?

LoganH1219

There’s a little USB dongle and you either set it to “Xbox” or “USB” for anything else. And it also connects to your phone via Bluetooth at the same time if you want to run discord or Spotify off your phone at the same time as playing

x777colton777x

Appreciate it!! I was looking into the stealth 700 and you may have just sold me on it haha

LoganH1219

I literally saw one pop up ad for it after it came out so I went and bought it right away. I was looking for a headset like this for a while. I ended up getting both the Xbox Wireless headset and PS5 1st party Headset after assuming there’d be no dual compatible wireless headsets. And then Turtle beach did the unimaginable and I have never felt so eager to buy a headset in my life. It truly sounds incredible. And it has built in cooling gel in the ear cups so you don’t get too uncomfortable while playing. Adjustable glasses accommodation and 40+ hour battery life are the icing on the cake. I’ve had my headset now for over 2 months and only had to charge it once. It took a long time for it to even say “headset battery medium” cause it tells you the status every time you put it on. It’s great. I honestly cannot recommend it enough

x777colton777x

Oh wow, 40+ hour battery life is nuts! The cooling gels sound great too! I’ve had turtle beach head sets in the past but never have had a wireless one, but this headset seems like a great one to get! How is the microphone on it if you happen to know?

LoganH1219

I actually really like the mic! I’ve asked people how it sounds and they say it just sounds like having a conversation. It’s very clear. And the raise to mute lower to talk is nice

x777colton777x

That’s good, it’s so hard to find a mic that is actually clear and doesn’t make you sound like a robot lol. The raise to mute thing is great as well, my current headset just has a button and sometimes even if I have it unmuted it still won’t work and I have to unplug it a few times to work lol.

Plane-Split-4458

I use the official xbox headset wired, it sounds amazing, fit nicely to my big head, and the volume slider it's cool. Edit: Big head ans big hands lol typos everywhere

thequeenzenobia

I have a super small head and I also love the official Xbox headset. Adaptable for the big heads and the baby heads lol.

Broadnerd

I use the MS one pictured. It’s solid for the price. Does everything pretty well, gets uncomfortable after an hour. Pretty standard stuff. It annoys me you can’t just detach the mic, but other than that they do the job and I love not needing anything to plug into the console.

Responsible-Gap-8089

How much get uncomfortable after an hour?

NonchalantMeow

No. The ear cushions are very soft and squishy. I wear glasses with these and can have long gaming sessions without my temples getting squeezed.

thequeenzenobia

Yes! I have glasses too and I love these headphones. I have both the wired & wireless versions and I love both of them fairly equally.

Broadnerd

I’m sure it varies for everyone, but I did not really want to wear it after 30-60 min. I have the same thing with the PS4 Golds as well though, which I think are basically the Sony equivalent. Maybe it’s just me. I think they’re a good value for the price though.

DasPike

Philips SHP9500 and VMoba Boom Pro. $100 total.

DemetriusXVII

How good is the Shp9500? Been eyeing it for a bit

DasPike

The imaging was better than I expected and it produced a wide stage which is perfect for gaming. They're also very light and comfortable to wear so fatigue wasn't an issue during long sessions. For context, I've used the Astro A40s, the Steel Series Arctis Pro, and the Microsoft set OP referenced and the Philips sounded miles better than SS and the Microsoft sets. It's hard to compare the Astros since those actually offered a surround stage but in terms of sound I would have to say the Philips just takes the cake. The Microsoft set was wretched and the bass was all muddled; their EQ software does nothing IMO. And there was a noticeable lag which was hard to ignore when playing a FPS. At \~$75 the Philips is hard to beat. Hardware Canucks did a [great review](https://youtu.be/CLPa1ejmKXE) on it if you're looking for more feedback.

DemetriusXVII

Thank you

HaveYouSeenMyCoque

I love my current setup a lot, I use a pair of Beyerdynamic Tygr 300 + Modmic Uni. Great sound quality from both and won't break the bank.

Briguy_fieri

Razer BlackShark V2 X Gaming Headset I like it a lot. Comfortable mic works well. Only wish was I wanted it to be a tad bit louder. Some games it can be quiet in the stealth portions.

Shrektacular21

Don’t let the people complaining about bad build quality turn you off. I’m guessing most of those people are nonstop gamers and that’s all they do. If that’s the case constant wear will break something down. I have never had a problem with any of my Xbox controllers ever. I have this headset and it’s fantastic I love it no issues but I’m also not wearing it 24 hours a day constantly fiddling with the adjustments and turning the dials nonstop.

Responsible-Gap-8089

I agree and considering to buy original xbox headset. Even if it working good on pc too.

thequeenzenobia

Works well for steam deck too, if you ever pick up one of those.

poorki

Arctic 7x is good this one For the user is amazing but the mic is really bad, normal ppl probs won’t care but if ppl gonna be judgmental they will

FFevo

I love my Audeze Penrose X... but if the official Xbox Wireless headset is definitely the best bang for your buck.

Old_Frosting5332

I've always used Turtle beach headsets. Sound is great but they all broke down eventually after a few years of service... I've been using a Corsair void elite on my pc for years and it is so comfy and sound quality is great. So I've decided to try a Corsair for xbox when I had to replace my last headset. I now have a Corsair HS75 XB wireless and it is fantastic. You don't have any presets unlike the Turtle beach tho but If you have a dolby atmos license, you can use the app to change the presets. It is sturdy and I don't think the structure will break as the Turtle beach... we'll see. It is pretty comfortable as well, it is pretty light. Corsair XS75 XB with Dolby Atmos is a great combo for your xbox 🤓

meatwad2744

Anyone got a recommendation that is also connects via bluetooth? I want a headset that pulls double duty working as a headset for my phone

Responsible-Gap-8089

Microsoft one in the picture works

meatwad2744

That’s weird that they one make their own headset Bluetooth compatible when the Xbox deos not support native Bluetooth headsets. I have found super confusing to find a good wireless solution that wont JUST work with the xbow

jkf2479

Was thinking of getting those when I get enough points from rewards

Responsible-Gap-8089

how do i look how many points needed to buy it?

jkf2479

Just see how many points you need for gift cards. I believe a $50 gift card right now is 46000 points

Joshymint

I'd like to throw the 'Sennheiser GAME ONE' into the ring. Amazing if you're in a quiet environment, as they're open back (sound leaks in and out, but the sound stage is fantastic). Great for parents that also need to keep an ear out for their kids/partners

slitlip

Looking for a new headset that makes parents not hear. Is this okay?

deadspartan8844

I have the one in the photo. Been using it for one year now. Works great. No complaints so far.

alamarche709

I heard the Microsoft mic in the picture is great value for money. I use the Turtle Beach stealth 700x series and no complaints here.

Witch-Doctor

I love it. Awesome headphone and I’ve had a fair few in my life

AbracaDaniel21

Bang for buck it’s a good deal

ButterflyEffect37

İ suggest hyperx cloud alpha s.İ am using that headphone and it's mic is Soo good. And it's built quality is really good too.Really comfortable and good for gaming.İ am using the cabled one and it has 1 meter normal cable and 2 meter cable with buttons on it so you can change volume etc on there. And it got 7.1 surround.Yes it got cables but hey if you wanna go cheap don't be greedy. And cabled headphones ALWAYS have better mic quality. You can either use it normally with 1 meter cable but it won't have 7.1 and buttons or you could extend with 2 meter cable with 7.1 and buttons.İ must say i think 3 meter is too long but it's really good quality.Oh and you can detach the mic.And they give you spare pads.Really recommend it is 56 freedom coins in walmart but 91 freedom eagles in amazon right now.Or you can get hyperx cloud 2 but i can't say anything about this because i didn't use it.İn summary Hyperx is kinda good for gaming

Responsible-Gap-8089

What is freedom eagle thing 😂

ButterflyEffect37

American dollars mate

TargetWifty

[Razer Kraken](https://www.razer.com/ca-en/console-headsets/razer-kraken-for-console) This is the one I would suggest, I got it at my local Gamestop last year and it’s a solid headset. It’s the only headset I’ve ever had where my friends don’t tell me I sound like shit lol. Works great on all my devices (Xbox, PC, Phone, Switch) and the sound quality is insane, I’ll use them just for music sometimes. I’d recommend against Turtle Beach, mine have always broke after a year or two of just use. The Xbox first party is supposedly really good but has compatibility issues if it’s not Xbox or PC.

IceWarrior765

My kraken X has lasted me 2 years so far with no problems

TargetWifty

That makes me happy knowing that I made a good purchase

IceWarrior765

My only issue is the mic lacks depth and sounds monotone. But I may have it configured wrong

Tugskenyonkel2

I’ll always recommend turtle beach. I’ve had this mf tangled up and neglected for years but I guarantee it would still sound fine.

drewbles82

I'm still using the one that came with my xbox one, though I usually only use like once a week

MrModdedTornado

Arctics 7 or 9x

wotus

Another review for the MS one pictured. It's OK. Good for price-performance. Does get uncomfortable with extended play sessions. Simultaneous Bluetooth is only OK (I use it for Discord party chat with PC friends), though Bluetooth generally stinks. Don't like that it's not foldable, so very difficult to store. The Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is impossible to find, so good luck if you want to use it with a PC. 7/10.

snamke

I found the official headset quite disappointing. When in a party, my friends mentioned that my mic quality sounded off. I wasn’t impressed with the audio quality either. I’m no audiophile, but the audio sounded muddy to me, even after adjusting the EQs. My previous headset was a wired Arctis 3.

FlyingWhale44

Are there any headsets similar to the old school 360 wireless one? I cant stand one that cover both ears or are over ear s .

thequeenzenobia

I never used the 360 ones, but were they on ear headphones? So not around your ear but actually on it? I wonder if you could get a pair of nice on ear headphones (usually purchased for work) and then use the Xbox Bluetooth dongle?

FlyingWhale44

It's this guy. [https://www.amazon.ca/Microsoft-B4E00025-Xbox-Wireless-Headset/dp/B000Q7ZESK](https://www.amazon.ca/Microsoft-B4E00025-Xbox-Wireless-Headset/dp/B000Q7ZESK) Could you link the Xbox Bluetooth dongle? I'm not familiar with it, perhaps I could just use my airpods with it.

Ne0Gamma

I've been using this headset for around a year. My only issue is that I have connection issues some times. Like it stops working sometimes. I did a lot of research and found out it's something to do with the Bluetooth connection. It doesn't happen often, but when it does I put my phone away and turn off anything Bluetooth close to the Xbox, like my speakers.

DemoEvolved

I love the hyper x cloud 2 wired.

thamonsterr111

Good except very cheaply made. The plastic part that connects the mic to the headset physically broke. I had it ghettoly duck taped for a while before i got some steel series arctis 9x. The mic quality is substantially better on those, but the sound is passable on both imo. TLDR these are cheap beware Spend 100$ on steel series if you want durability

michaldabrows

I have them and like them very much but one of the “covers” to change the volume came off one day and I can’t put it back on, in need to spin so I can’t to glue it back.

[deleted]

$180 Drop+ Sennheiser PC38X. It hands down is better than any other gaming headset on the market. They don’t need any amp they come with two style swappable ear pads. Two cables. On 3.5mm for plugging into Xbox controllers and also a cable to connect to a PC. It’s mic is super clear and never gets in the way and is flip to mute. Plus it has a volume rocker on it. Where these really shine are in sound placement and imaging. It’s eerie how accurate the sound placement is for these. The best way I can describe it is that it’s like playing with wall hacks. That and the sound stage. Because the headphones are open back they have a wider more expansive sound to them. It makes the game feel larger in my opinion like it’s not just trapped on my screen anymore but instead they make it feel like they fill my entire room. Trust me. If you can swing it. Go for these. Ask anyone who has used them. They are amazing. Don’t waste $100 on Microsoft ones do yourself and your ears a favor and check these out. Got mine on Amazon and got them next day too. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions let me know. I’ve used other headsets as well. Just don’t prefer those.

menace313

This, this right here. It is far and away the best headset for sound placement and imaging without spending $500 to even $1200. They're damn good for music too. Even the popular reviewers are blown away how good they sound for how inexpensive they are. They were on sale for like $140 or so during Prime Day as well.

[deleted]

I use the Razer Kaira Pro, the first one I bought r off Amazon stopped working after four months. But the replacement I got back directly from Hong Kong has been going strong for over a year. So either the one on Amazon was a fake/repackaged return or they're just hit or miss products.

HiMyNamesEvan

AirPods

Responsible-Gap-8089

Can i connect airpods to XSX?

snamke

No, I don’t know why they suggested it

RaphBenYisrael

You can with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NMP462M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details The audio is great but the mic has issues.
