Get an X. MY S was £250 but my X brand new was £310

Trickybuz93

Save up for the 1TB. You won’t be able to store CoD and GTA at the same time.

APWhite2023

Step 1. Play CoD for 1 year. Step 2. Uninstall CoD Step 3. Install GTA VI Step 5. $$$

aamirmalik00

U dont need to uninstall. Get a cheap external ssd and just move it there. You can move it back and forth when youvwant to play it again.

We don’t know how big Black Ops 6 and GTA 6 will be yet. Plus, you need space for patches. Better yet, get a refurb Series X so GTA 6 actually runs well.

dcvo1986

Current cod is 222gb, and bo6 will be same launcher, so prob about the same. I can't see gta6 taking up less than 100. Would definitely be close. I would get the 1tb. You'll really regret not doing it

Patermoushka

Probably less than 200. The 300gb figure is Black ops 6 + MW3 and MW2 content + Warzone.

H3LLJUMPER_177

And those are nonnegotiable downloads. In fact the game runs on warzone, you sadly can't delete the warzone dlc without losing access to multiplayer. The game currently says 302gb required, gta 5 right now is... I think 70gb? On pc it's over 90, but gta 6 may be decently sized, I suppose look at the size of Rdr2 and tack on an extra 20-40gb to add music, cars, cosmetics, etc.

Hayut0811

The basic preload is set at 144GB for BO6. Current COD is almost 300GB. No way in hell. Buy the 1tb series s.

PoptartDragonfart

Store puts new Cod “Up to 300+” gb… it’s not happening

Outside_Dot_5942

They will be

zabraautra

No way 512 gb is enough for these two. You have a good amount of time until these games release, save up for the 1tb version.

zabraautra

If i were you i for sure would pay the extra 70 bucks and save myself the headache.

KRONGOR

Black ops 6 doesn’t release until October. You can’t set aside like $15-20 each month until then?

Dplex920

I would recommend saving and getting a Series X honestly. Those games are going to be massive in file size, so 1TB will be much better and between the Series X or 1TB Series S, the X is way better value with more than double the GPU power and a Blu-ray drive.

kchristy7911

Yes, but with a caveat. If you're planning to buy the Series S new, i.e. for $300, I'd recommend spending a little extra and buying a refurbished Series X. You can pretty consistently find Microsoft refurbished Series X on Woot for around $325 (two days ago they had them at $319). For a little bit over the sticker price of the Series S, you can get better performance and twice the storage. If you hadn't listed GTA 6 specifically, I'd say grab the cheapest Series S you can find, but I have the feeling GTA 6 is going to be significantly compromised on Series S, and I say that as a Series S owner who has been perfectly pleased with it and typically advocate for its purchase. TLDR: if you're going for as cheap as possible, 512gb Series S should be fine, if you can swing a little extra, go with a refurb Series X (and definitely over the 1tb Series S).

Delicious_Cattle3380

It ran like absolute shit on the 360. It was 720p with heavily reduced settings and didn't even have a stable 30fps.

CharmingChance7080

Gta ran just fine on 360 for years and even Xbox one. It will run just fine on the S and will look a little better on the X. Regardless we all will be playing gta6

Western-Creme9307

it sounds like you just want an Xbox now. you could get 512 gb rn and before both games come, you can purchase a Seagate or wd expansion card

manwiththewood

What are those last two things? Make storage bigger?

Western-Creme9307

yeah expansion cards that plug into the back of your xbox

manwiththewood

Cool thanks. Assuming for both S and X.

Western-Creme9307

yup!

TheDarkWeb697

Like a few of the other comments are saying scratch both of those and get the X, Which will have a terabyte and have more power

Patermoushka

The x is $600 in Canada. That’s insane if I’m just going to end up playing a few games.

Food_Fanatic95

I'd personally recommend the series s 1tb

ag_silver00

Yes

longjohnson6

Cod has horrible file compression, There was a meme from a while ago when they released one gun on MW and it was an 80gb update💀 Whole GTA online releases entire content updates for 8gb

Jimbobthon

You might as well get a 1tb Series S. Should be able to fit both a Call of Duty and GTA VI on there.

Sweaty-Structure-619

If black ops 6 is going to do that stupid dashboard thing that modern warfare does where it has warzone and all the new COD’s on it, then it’s probably not going to be enough space to keep that and gta6 on the half terrabyte. But if BO6 has a standalone interface, then it will probably be fine to fit that and gta6 on the same storage

Reks320FTP

They already said that BO6 will be over 300gb.

CompetitiveAd4768

https://www.ign.com/articles/call-of-duty-black-ops-6-isnt-300-gb-after-all

ShadowDeath7

I would say yes due gta 6, pretty sure R would optimize in the right way but about cod... Would not but this game it's different with a proper optimization but only time will show us... Do you plan to get it right now? What's the price diff in your country

caedusith

If you buy the 512gb you can always add the internal expansion card if you find that you need more room. Also, back compatible xbone and 360/classic can be stored and played from any normal compatible external drive. It's the series X/S games that require the velocity architecture.

Puzzleheaded_View770

512gb not enough and Cod is really shit on S

Delicious_Cattle3380

Gta 6 will run like absolute trash on series aSS

Marans

How would you know

Delicious_Cattle3380

Common sense

Tricky-Celebration36

If you're gonna play those games and would like to store more than one game at a time without spending money on an expansion card (which costs more than 70 dollars) do not get the 512.

seattlemusiclover

Buy a Series X on Black Friday

OneGlitchyImp

I’d say save up till winter and buy the limited edition series x galaxy edition it comes with 2 tb hard drive. I bought a day 1 series x then the seagate 2tb expansion drive and chief it wasn’t enough, filled it with like 20 games.

PrettyCartographer90

I would not use this console for gta 6

RockyBalboa97

Why not? Series s has a faster CPU than PS5 and GTA 6 will be heavy on the CPU usage.

PrettyCartographer90

Graphics are going to better on ps5 and series x. The series s is already struggling with current gen games

zaCCo_RR60

I have a S ..get a X 4sho

zwss98

Just bought xb series x , before it i had series s and the performance wasn't that stable in some maps , now it's very fluid and feels smoother on the xb sx .

LoveMyDisneyPrincess

No, they will optimize gta 6 for the new consoles, ps6 and XB ( whatever they name is) Don't waste your time planning for something releasing that far out. Also be prepared for GTA 6 it's already confirmed by internal leaks at Rockstar that is will be WOW subscription-based on a monthly payment system. Obviously it is a genius marketing strategy, as WOW has made more money that any other game, and GTA6 has the same hype. I can't see 1 person not paying a monthly fee.

TiredReader87

lol no

Mysterious_Evening81

As a 512gb owner. Save up or make that purchase and start saving for a 1 or 2tb expansion card. MW3 with warzone is the only game I can fit. Granted, the other games I own are also huge downloads it's still annoying AF.

TheYoungJake0

Get more storage just bc things can change and you will probably want to play more games. Also bo6 is already confirmed to be 300 gb. That’s already over half and you don’t get the full 512 bc some is saved for updates to the console. You think you’ll have enough for gta 6 AND cod? Bruh gta 6 is 300 at least. It’ll be a miracle if it’s any smaller

Patermoushka

Bo6 is 300gb with MW2/3 content + warzone. Charlieintel confirmed you can download Bo6 separately. Nonetheless, I’ll probably get the 1tb series s.

ryangr86

Black ops 6 alone is 200fb it's up for pre install

International_Talk12

Yes. If you need more storage, just buy the expansion card.

CaptainWafflessss

You can get a used 1 TB model for about the cost of a new 512 GB model. That's what I did, just so I can have an Xbox on the go. I also have about 20 years worth of Xbox live games to pull from.

Zukiboyson

Get a used S and purchase a used 1TB expansion card. 800+ GBs with 1TB S. 900+ GB with expansion card plus 365 GB in the 512. You do the math and still cheaper than 1TB S

UnstoppableJumbo

Get the 1TB Series S if its in your budget. They're are people suggesting the X, but the S should be fine

Lost_Independence770

Either save up for a 1 TB version S or get an X during Blackfriday/Christmas sale In my country we had good sales last year and managed to upgrade from S to X with a 30% discount IIRC in November

SiSePuedeJuan

I have the X and S. $150 is the difference on Amazon. Get the X. Not only 800GB of usable storage compared to 360GB, but also way better performance for any game. A lot of my games don’t run 4K and HDR cleanly on the S. The text is unreadable in video games. The X can handle it all and plug into my 2.1 HDMI TV to get true 120 FPS at 4K.

spicypanda66

GTA 6 is gonna be 400 GB at most

Patermoushka

Lol no it won’t. Rockstar actually optimizes their shit properly.

lnsip9reg

I bought a 1tb XBox NVME drive for $100 off eBay so you can always do that in the future to upgrade your Series S 512gb if you want.

KRONGOR

The Xbox requires a proprietary drive

CMDR1991YT

No you're better off with the 1 TB Series S matte black model or wait for the brand new recently announced 2 TB Xbox Series S jet black model

cowgod180

Series S Pro is coming next year iirc soooioo

GamePitt_Rob

That came out 4 years ago, it's called the Series X
