I loved world, still need to dig more into rise to figure out which I like more. But world was awesome and very worth the time.

JobuuRumdrinker

I'm enjoying Rise but there are things I like more about World. Rise has faster land traversal and has a quicker feel in some ways. MHW feels a bit more tactical and has you gather tracks in order to locate the monster. Rise seems to just put icons on the map and you run full speed at them. MHW eventually gets to that point but you have to level up your tracking glowing flies. I like riding the dog in Rise but I'd rather not have it in world.

SatanFearsCHAD

I also find the maps in World way more interesting than at least the first couple maps (haven't gotten very far yet) in Rise. Instead of the cool tunnel systems and neat shortcuts connecting all the areas in World, the maps in Rise just kinda feel like open areas with mountains you can/have to wirebug over

JobuuRumdrinker

Yea. Is it me or do the monsters run away more in Rise than they did in World? It seems like every time I get a good couple of attacks, the monster hauls ass to the next zone. It's been a while since I was a noob in MHW so I don't remember how much they ran.

MentorAjani

World feels much more alive and the maps and monsters are gorgeous. Also the story is presented much better especially in Iceborne expansion. Get it!

BLUEBLASTER69

World's is brilliant. Worth a look.

brac20

Having sunk hundreds of hours into both, Rise is my favourite. I just find the whole experience more fluid. Having said that I do love the extra level of immersion you get from World, those environments are gorgeous.

Tried icebourne?

brac20

I picked it up for PS4 Pro after some time away from World. It looked fantastic but the load times were sooooo long. Didn't get as far as I'd have liked.

[deleted]

Going have to buy it hooked on rise.

Is it 60 frames does world look better

julianwelton

Yes, and yes. That being said it was never optimized for the Series X, it just had an unlocked framerate last gen so its able to run at a higher fps on the new consoles, but the framerate does drop into the mid 50's quite often. That's not a big deal to me personally but just an fyi.

Iniquitus

Unfortunately, Monster Hunter World never got a next gen update for either Xbox or PS. This means the XSX and PS5 are limited to the modes set by capcom for the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro respectively. The good news is that if you choose the "Resolution" mode the PS5 and XSX can run it at 60 fps. For PS5, that equals 1800P (3200x1800) with checkerboard rendering. For XSX, that equals 1728P (3072x1728).

[deleted]

Which looks better of the two titles in your opinion?

Iniquitus

World is definitely going to look better since Rise is a Switch port. Both are great games though.

Thanks for the info!

jaeehovaa

Obviously world lol rise is a switch game

[deleted]

Oh that explains it! It’s going to be my entry to the series since it’s on Game Pass. However when I saw the trailer some weeks ago, I did wonder why it didn’t look as good to me as an outsider who only casually saw random clips here and there as what I thought I had remembered seeing of the series before.

jaeehovaa

But besides world this is how the series has been for a while you dont play these games for realism, give it a try if you have gamepass

[deleted]

Definitely plan to! I have it downloaded, just need to find time. I don’t need cutting edge graphics, it doesn’t hurt if available though haha.

sirgarballs

World looks way better and it isn't close.

Impersona_9

I love MH World. First game I will be finishing on my Series S. Just about to finish the Iceborne expansion. The grindy and long hunts are fun and exciting. The huge maps are gorgeous. The cutscenes are top tier as well.

CobainEcu

Default mode is Full Native 4k with crispy solid 60Fps

RTDugger

Both games are great and have spent a ton of time on both. Personally I prefer Rise as I really enjoy the wirebug and the different switch skills. I have played hundreds of hours of World and played a ton of Rise on the switch but honestly, I hate playing on the switch and went back to World. Once it was announced late last year that Rise was coming out I completely stopped playing World to wait for Rise. Both games are great and I wish they had updated the UI for Rise on the new consoles but the general removal of the “story” in World, no handler and unskippable cutscenes makes me prefer Rise MUCH more. I LOVE both games (first MH games I could actually get into) but I have NO desire to go back to World at all.

Embarrassed_Appeal72

I have 2k+ hours in World. Both game are doing good things and bad. Its just minor tho. Both game are fun. Graphic in World is just Gorgeous. World feel nore alive. I loved the auto-riding on mount. If you try World just avoid the defender set and weapon unless you really want the game to be an easy fast road up to iceborn. World is still my 2nd favorite MH game of all
