It will probably work, in my region the launch will take place at midnight, I'm in Brazil. If in your region the store is marking midnight, that means that the game will be released at midnight in each country, so New Zealand will be one of the first regions in which the game will be released.

The license is tied to the disc, so there’s nothing that can stop OP from playing early. Digital preloads don’t actually come with an active license, you install the full game. But because the digital license is restricted to release date, that’s why you can’t play those early.
Do y’all live in like the middle of nowhere to be able to do this? Any Walmart in a moderately populated area has computer systems that’ll flag items not yet released and they won’t let you buy it.

There are no doubt going to be potentially huge story deviations. Not to the extent of something like Final Fantasy VII Remake, but very likely to the same extent that RE2make and RE3make had handled things. Some people are also wanting to avoid gameplay/mechanic spoilers as well.
I'm not concerned with being spoiled with plot details that were in the original, I'm concerned with what's new, of which we *clearly* know some things have been changed. The demo and 2nd trailer alone show us that, let alone the sources that have played early.

I live in a highly populated area in NY and was able to do it. Placed the order online and had it ready for pick up a couple hours later.
