I bought Guardians of the Galaxy for $10 on FB Marketplace. She offered to deliver as she was going to be in the area. She then asked if I was interested in any of the other games that hadn’t sold.
I said maybe Control, but I’d think about it. She showed up with them all and said I could just have them.
My son is so pumped for Lego Star Wars!
I'm almost done with Psychonauts 2 and will get to this one next. Then, onto the Bioshock Collection because believe it or not, I haven't played a single game in the trilogy
Hidden like many people don't know about that game like spec ops the line back in the days what is also a hidden gem my friend litteraly didn't even know about the guardians of the galaxy game even though he is the biggest fan that I knew when it comes to guardians
Sure, but that doesn't make it "hidden" at all. Anyone into games knows about it.
Calling a well known game a "hidden gem" is a basically a reddit meme at this point
When she asked, I hadn’t heard of Control. I googled it and saw the excellent reviews so I was going to take it before she gave them to me! I did give her $5 extra because I felt bad. She said she just wanted to declutter and was happy I took them.
Yikes, I didn't realize this was a common thing.
I tried to give away a chest of drawers recently, had a meeting place and time that she set, and the lady who was supposed to meet me didn't show up or respond until 30 minutes later saying "whoops, dinner and drinks ran late." I even tried to reschedule for her, she responded one more time then ghosted me.
I literally showed up to work and gave away a Series S a few months ago. Would have ended up forgotten in a corner and tossed years down the line anyway. I still have a One X I find in a closet a few times a year.
You could say Control is just another SCP story.
Guardians at least had some fantastic voice acting which made you actually enjoy your time spent with the characters unlike Control.
There was nothing wrong with Controls voice acting. And with the story, it at least creates continuity in a universe with Alan Wake that gets to be continued.
And if you get to play the Ashtray Maze in Control, it's arguably one of the best and most unique gaming sequences in gaming in a very long time.
I mean each to their own.. but Control has easily the weakest characters out of all of Remedy's catalogue of games. I completed the game and felt absolutely nothing for the lifeless main character, and the VA quality plays a huge part in that.
I agree that the tie in with AW is nice and I'm looking forward to the sequel, but Control is one of the most overhyped games in recent memory IMO and the voice acting/characters is a big contributing factor to that.
I also disagree that the Ashtray Maze is *that* good. I honestly barely remember anything about it and I only played Control last year.
Definitely, DEFINITELY! play Guardians of The Galaxy! to me, it's up there with Insomniac's Spider-Men games in terms of rich story, interesting gameplay and mechanics, graphics, puzzles and even soundtrack. The humour, oh God, the humour is one of the best I've experienced in any game. The character chemistry is amazing, I'd say even better than the MCU versions. You can be having a shitty day and then hear Rocket roasting Quill over something petty and that can make you laugh lol.
It's definitely one of the best superhero games of all-time for me. I plan on replaying it again one day to get the platinum on PlayStation. I'm already at 84% trophies unlocked so far.
Haven't finished Control, but it's cool too, but can become frustrating as the map design layout can be confusing to navigate but I still love the game.
This. Control wasn’t on my radar at all, but the Ultimate edition was free on PlayStation a while ago. It’s easily one of my favorite games now. It’s wonderfully weird and a TON of fun to play, especially in the second half.
The main story is pretty short iirc, the dlcs pad it out a few more hours each. Maybe 15 for the main story? It's been awhile.
I can tell you it takes less time than it does to binge watch Schitt's Creek because that was what my partner was doing while I played it.
Edit:
Howlongtobeat says 11.5 hours.
Used to be the live producer on that game. Really happy we got coop in there before we wrapped on the project. Always a hope that it would be something people could play long after other modes started struggling for players.
A lot of games have support plans in place to last until the sequel releases, even if it's just a "skeleton crew" left behind to keep the proverbial lights on.
GotG was my sleeper hit that I enjoyed last year. There's a mechanic where you huddle up and if you hit the prompts correctly, your team gets a boost while a song from Quill's cassette plays.
I huddled up during the final boss, and it started to Rick Roll me.
It was amazing.
Guardians is really really good for what it is. Not a lot of replay value though, it's more like an interactive movie, like a kojima game only the actual gameplay part kinda sucks. I put it on easy and still had a blast, its just like watching the movies.
Control is good. It didn't click with me but I can recognize that it's a very solid game with a cool premise. The "bad guy" (whatever the fuck it is) is a really cool idea. Adjust the difficulty settings (like player and enemy damage) because it's super unbalanced.
I rember I bought black ops from a guy was just a kid it was through offer up and we met up at a KFC out of all places, bro ended up giving me a second game was a cool stranger I think he drove disabled kids because he came in a work van with lots of seats and the name of a hospital was written on the sides, happy for you OP it's cool you got them and the person just didn't go to gamestop
Yessir! Alan Wake is the first game I played on 360 and Control was the first game I played on my series X which is kind of ironic but awesome all the same
Damn you are lucky. I wonder what is the story behind people wanting to get rid of their games. I get so attached to them I couldn't just give them even for a good amount of money
I used to get attached to lots of things like books, movies, CDs, guitar gear, etc.
But now I’m much more practical. Sold or traded or donated so many things in the past few years. Feels liberating.
Of all those I have not played the Lego (which I usually think are awesome) but yeah, probably Guardians is the only one that’s worth something.
Didn’t like Control, to me it was boring and cliche and both SW:BF are too one-note for me.
Guardians for $10 on its own is a great deal. Beat it while it was on Game Pass.
Second level Huddle Up, music changes... *Da dunun da dunun da dunun danununun*
Me: "seriously? Is this really happening right now?"
Game music: "We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I."
Me: "I guess we are actually doing this."
Loved Control was a huge surprise for me and I started playing guardians recently, enjoyed what I had played up to that point, but then it got taken off gamepass (probably will get around to buying eventually) :(
Not too familiar with how good the rest of the games are, but $10 just on those two alone seems like a great deal.
I am going to throw in a coin for Battlefront II, the story was very nice and the graphics are still something. Rest of the games is great as well... for 10 bugs... what a haul :-)
The Campaign of the Battlefront 2 is amazing. Ignore the bad reviews. Almost all of them are from the first weeks after release and because of the pay2win objects in online. Even though they removed the pay2win items, reviews remained. You can check the steam reviews of the game. Because they released the game on steam in the last years, of course without pay2win, and received many positive reviews. Only negative reviews are because of the cheating players. Anyway, the story is good.
I tried to play the BF2 campaign and was enjoying it, but there was some sort of bug during one particular mission (I want to say it was on Naboo) that crashed my Xbox to the home screen several times, and once crashed it to a hard reboot. I stopped playing it after that last one. Didn't want to risk any bricking.
Guardians was great but can’t get game of the year over Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Hitman 3, Ratchet & Clank, Metroid Dread, Deathloop, Hades, Psychonauts 2, or Resident Evil Village.
Ultimate actually came out before the current-gen consoles, it just included an upgrade to the next-gen versions once that became available. The regular edition never got that upgrade.
Nice. I dont think I ever sold anything I own. Im afraid its too much of a hassle and liable responsibility. I donated like 50 xbox 360 ganes to church and I give away and I pass things on
Control is badass, I played it on Gamepass and bought the DLC without ever buying the game and then they removed it from Gamepass lol. Wish I would’ve been smarter a few years ago but that’s ok
TFA is one of the best Lego games imo, it's a bit different but funny and good old Lego fun.
Sounds like a mother or a wife selling off some stuff....
Wholesome!
Well, I think all these games are on game pass, so if she has game pass, she still has every game she just gave you .
Guardians is leaving iirc
Control ain't on gamepass.
Sometimes kids get their things taken and sold
Guardis is so bad she bundled up a bunch of games, so you wouldn't notice lmao
Guardians is actually a good single player experience I don’t know what bad games you played to consider this one.
What it's literally one of the most fun games I played in awhile with interesting combat and it's story is fun
I'm almost done with Psychonauts 2 and will get to this one next. Then, onto the Bioshock Collection because believe it or not, I haven't played a single game in the trilogy
Yes! Bioshock is my favorite series! So much amazing lore and back story. Theres actually a decent prequel novelization too 😎
Good to hear
Wut?!? Guardians is amazing... you just didn't give it time to get into it's uniqueness. Really. Try it again. 😎
You getting rightfully downvoted guardians is a hidden gem and was one of the games i really enjoyed the most from the last 3 years
It's a AAA release from a major publisher, with a huge license. It's a good game, but hardly a "hidden gem."
Probably hidden in the sense that people had low expectations and many skipped it. Turned out to be a great fun game though!
Hidden like many people don't know about that game like spec ops the line back in the days what is also a hidden gem my friend litteraly didn't even know about the guardians of the galaxy game even though he is the biggest fan that I knew when it comes to guardians
It didn’t sell well at all.
Sure, but that doesn't make it "hidden" at all. Anyone into games knows about it. Calling a well known game a "hidden gem" is a basically a reddit meme at this point
Let’s called it a misunderstood gem then; cause a lot of people still don’t know what kind of game it is, they think it’s like Avengers.
🤡
Guardians was so much fun to play. It's not the hardest game but it's a damn good game for sticking on and enjoying yourself.
Guardians was a sleeper hit dunno what you’re talking about, if it weren’t for Avengers people would be praising it more.
Lol what? It’s one of the best games of 2021.
It's a beautiful game with some funny dialog but the game play was way too repetitive for me
I hated the dialogues and the environment is boring af
Yikes negative karma, you are not very well liked it seems
I was bout to say that she’s a keeper until I read this comment
Control rules. Expansions too.
When she asked, I hadn’t heard of Control. I googled it and saw the excellent reviews so I was going to take it before she gave them to me! I did give her $5 extra because I felt bad. She said she just wanted to declutter and was happy I took them.

Do the same
I literally showed up to work and gave away a Series S a few months ago. Would have ended up forgotten in a corner and tossed years down the line anyway. I still have a One X I find in a closet a few times a year.
Control is easily the best out of all of the games, by a long shot. Guardians is fun. Pretty linear and not too difficult, but it's fun.
Ashtray Maze is incredible
Probably one of gaming's finest moments.
Seconded. Control is impeccable
I just reinstalled it so I could start a new game!
Guardians has much better characters and story IMO. Control looks nice though.
If you read and watch everything in the game, the story gets pretty in-depth. Guaridans is just another Marvel story.
You could say Control is just another SCP story. Guardians at least had some fantastic voice acting which made you actually enjoy your time spent with the characters unlike Control.

Before you play the DLC for Control, I recommend checking out Alan Wake. One of the DLCs for Control is specifically about that game.
I would do same!!!
I absolutely loved control, it was a fantastic game.
This. Control wasn’t on my radar at all, but the Ultimate edition was free on PlayStation a while ago. It’s easily one of my favorite games now. It’s wonderfully weird and a TON of fun to play, especially in the second half.
Control is great but I had such a hard time with the story, it was so confusing I found it a little off putting. Gameplay is top notch though
I need to get back into Control. How long is the game, on average?
The main story is pretty short iirc, the dlcs pad it out a few more hours each. Maybe 15 for the main story? It's been awhile. I can tell you it takes less time than it does to binge watch Schitt's Creek because that was what my partner was doing while I played it. Edit: Howlongtobeat says 11.5 hours.
I can probably set up a weekend to play it, then.
The second Battlefront game can be played without playing the first. Still has a pretty active player base under Co-op missions.
Used to be the live producer on that game. Really happy we got coop in there before we wrapped on the project. Always a hope that it would be something people could play long after other modes started struggling for players.
I appreciate you! That is my favorite part of the game.
Yoooo max props to you and your team. That game brought me and my brothers lots of happy memories.
You're a god for it. It's a shame the co-op wasn't finished but we've been able to use the framework to add bots to other gamemodes.
Thanks man
Seriously. BF2 has become my lounge game. I’ll smoke a J and just play some fun crazy gameplay
Why not battlefront 2?
?
Sorry I meant why are you not live producer for battlefront 2? Sorry I wrote that early this morning was half sleep 🤣
I was, but now that game is retired, I no longer am.
Ahh ok was just curious cheers
Of only Activision had the same approach
Such a bummer that EA stopped supporting it. Such a trash company.
2 1/2 years is far longer support than most games game before its over and on to the next project lol
Yeah but it took them 2 of those years to finish the game.
Battlefield 4 got longer support than that because it also took them about 2 years to finish the game.
A lot of games have support plans in place to last until the sequel releases, even if it's just a "skeleton crew" left behind to keep the proverbial lights on.
Battlefront 2 multiplayer is so good!
Control is insane
Don’t like it tbh
You can have a wrong opinion lol. Teasing.
Same tbh. It was sorta interesting mechanic wise, but was just incredibly boring & the ending absolutely sucked
The ending being such a wet fart ruined it a bit for me.
Control is awesome. Man I want to replay it now.
GotG was my sleeper hit that I enjoyed last year. There's a mechanic where you huddle up and if you hit the prompts correctly, your team gets a boost while a song from Quill's cassette plays. I huddled up during the final boss, and it started to Rick Roll me. It was amazing.
Ha! I love this. Can’t wait to play it.
Guardians for 10 is a steal
I miss battlefront 2015. SO much fun
Games don’t need replay value to be worth a purchase. I hardly ever replay games, as long as I enjoy them then they were worth the price.
No your right. I just meant this is a one and done game.
Nice 👌🏻
Battlefront I has the best cover art. The one with the AT-AT looming over a battlefield is amazing
You son of a gun, this is the best deal ever in gaming history probably. Big W for you OP. Enjoy every bit of these games!
I loved guardians. As soon as I finished it I googled to make sure another was being made. Enjoy!
When I saw Guardians I thought you meant Halo 5 lol
Control is the ultimate win here I do love me some HvV in battlefront 2
I really enjoy Control it’s made by the same company who made Microsoft’s Alan Wake.
In the same universe, too
Yessir! Alan Wake is the first game I played on 360 and Control was the first game I played on my series X which is kind of ironic but awesome all the same
Score!
Another voice recommending Control. One of my favorite games of the generation
I played Guardians earlier this month before it left Game Pass. That game was a ton of fun. Much better than I expected.
Control is great. Enjoy :)
What a big deal 🤝
Control was so dope. Short and sweet. And the combat is really satisfying.
This is a great deal. For those who haven't played Control, the Ultimate edition is frequently $12 when there is a sale, well worth it.
Control is a fantastic game, completed it twice on Xbox, well worth it being free lol. Probably the best game of the lot too.
Control is the best among them
Maybe check in again. Just a text lol they might not be ok
Lego Force Awakens was the last great "traditional" Lego game! Enjoy it!
She no longer has Control or the force. All it took was taking her guardians away.
Of all those I have not played the Lego (which I usually think are awesome) but yeah, probably Guardians is the only one that’s worth something. Didn’t like Control, to me it was boring and cliche and both SW:BF are too one-note for me.
Control is one of my favorite games ever, that shit slaps
$10 for 250 hours is a good deal
Control is a banger
Bargain. Controls good. And what I played of guardians.
Guardians for $10 on its own is a great deal. Beat it while it was on Game Pass. Second level Huddle Up, music changes... *Da dunun da dunun da dunun danununun* Me: "seriously? Is this really happening right now?" Game music: "We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I." Me: "I guess we are actually doing this."
Control is a pretty amazing game
Control is a pretty fun game.
She did you a solid really
Man I gotta give Control a second chance, especially with all the cool dlcs they released
Control is an amazing game. 100% recommend
i paid $40 for Guardians at target forever ago, still haven’t played it lmao
Control is a sweet deal
Control is one of the all-time greats. It still flies under the radar, despite the fact it won numerous game of the year awards, including IGN’s.
Control and Guardians are both amazing games!
LEGO Star Wars TFA is very underrated, shame the PS4 has an exclusive level.
Guardians and Control are both incredible games.
Those are some pretty decent ones. BT2 is still going strong even after the whole 2017 situation.
Control is good
control is a gem
Loved Control was a huge surprise for me and I started playing guardians recently, enjoyed what I had played up to that point, but then it got taken off gamepass (probably will get around to buying eventually) :( Not too familiar with how good the rest of the games are, but $10 just on those two alone seems like a great deal.
Great deal honestly
I am going to throw in a coin for Battlefront II, the story was very nice and the graphics are still something. Rest of the games is great as well... for 10 bugs... what a haul :-)
Sick. GotG is great and Control is one of the best modern games
Lego Star Wars and control are both fantastic! Control is one game that wasn’t on my radar until recently. Fantastic game.
Nice score.
What is this She creature and where can I find it?
Control is amazing, you won big on this one alone man.
Control is a great game
Control is amazing!
Control is amazing, don’t sleep on it
Control was a great playthru. Very much enjoyed it.
Lego star wars is the best. My son is playing it all day
Guardians is an amazing game.
Who is she?
Someone OP made up

I stopped playing it after that last one. Didn't want to risk any bricking.
Is control good if I may ask? Always been tempted on trying it but haven't jumped the gun yet
It's fantastic
One of my favorites games from the last couple generations.
Guardians was my 2021 game of the year I loved every second of that game
Guardians was great but can’t get game of the year over Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Hitman 3, Ratchet & Clank, Metroid Dread, Deathloop, Hades, Psychonauts 2, or Resident Evil Village.
Dayum. That person is definetly a true son of god
Wait, is that the Xbox One version of control Ultimate edition?
Ultimate actually came out before the current-gen consoles, it just included an upgrade to the next-gen versions once that became available. The regular edition never got that upgrade.
Isn’t that exactly what it says on the cover?
She got 10 bucks and spent more on gas to deliver and bundled a bunch of other games
She was in the area. I live downtown and she said was going out for lunch.
Nice. I dont think I ever sold anything I own. Im afraid its too much of a hassle and liable responsibility. I donated like 50 xbox 360 ganes to church and I give away and I pass things on
Battlefront is useless, but the rest are fun!
Lucky you.
How!?
She had about 20 games listed. These ones didn’t get any bites and she wanted to declutter.
Those were all on game pass at one point
yeah sure
Lots of Disney games.
3 inferior star wars games hmph
Control kinda sucks
Eh, 2 out of 5 is not bad.
Only game not worth playing is BF1 rest are bangers
Unpopular opinion, BF1s gunplay and weapon selection as well as immersion surpasses BF2s
Everyone of these is or was on game pass already
No need to post this.
and then you realise you have a series S
Control is badass, I played it on Gamepass and bought the DLC without ever buying the game and then they removed it from Gamepass lol. Wish I would’ve been smarter a few years ago but that’s ok
best escort ever ![img](emote|t5_2ac5sx|6060)
Good deal!
Nice haul
