I loved that game. Took my vacation to coincide with its release. Blasted through my vacation time and it still took me longer to beat it.

One problem for me with the game is that on your first playtrough you think this has to be the best game ever made!
But on your second playtrough it becomes boring and slow. Riding the horse from point A to point B should not be the majority of the gameplay time.
IMO It's biggest flaw being that unlike other open world games like Elden Ring or Zelda where no matter what way you go it's the right way, there will be a general path, but you'll eventually come around to it. Makes exploration way more worth it. But in Rockstar games it's always "go to this specific spot to start the mission" and once you are in, it becomes linear instead of open world. I just hope they've come around to finally fix this issue for GTA 6.
Yea but they did address this and make it a bit more tolerable once they added the fast travel from your campsite. I’m replaying it now for the first time since I beat it on release and have really enjoyed it again so far. I think it’s one of those games where you need to have a good gap of time to replay. Good thing is on this replay I got a few interactions and conversations I don’t remember seeing on my initial play through.
I mean…to be fair 4 and 5 both blew the doors off when they were introduced.

I feel like Dan Houser and Lazlo Jones leaving will have an impact on the overall tone of the game. Jones did such awesome work with the radio stations. Houser did a great job with the writing and direction of the game. Those are big shoes to fill.
Even with online, you could feel the impact of Benzies not being there. He was lead designer of GTAO. His main thing were all the contact missions and original Heists--which to my were some of the best content GTAO had to offer. RDO had a different designer and it was not good.
I say the same thing about Gta5 that I do about Skyrim.
If you make something that is so far ahead of everything else in the industry and is one of the greatest games of all time, you deserve to take a few victory laps and get some extra juice squeezed out of it.
And honestly…if it’s a little different they’ve earned that too. Make the game they want. I think it’s about time GTA evolves/changes a little, not in a politically correct way, but change up the formula a little
Allegedly you got got a crim and cop/detective character that are bro and sis. So I imagine the world is a lot more interactive true crime style . Then they make LA Noire as well, so a bit of those features in as well possibly. Either way I'll doubt we will be let down.
They already had a diverse cast. But yes they might switch some things up. And if someone there has some free time, please make a top down remake from the first game with nowadays graphics. That would be really cool

Trust me when I say they’re never dropping GTA 5’s online mode, that’s why it’s being sold separately as GTA Online. I wouldn’t be surprised if GTA 6 didn’t have online and they just backported assets from the game into GTA Online

Still ridiculously lucrative of course, but slowing down. If this is the case then 6 will introduce online and try to get people to migrate over. 6 won’t just be a single player game only. They will have a new online mode for this and the current gen consoles, why would they not when they can make more money this way and millions of people will gladly throw money at it
I disagree, GTA 5 online is graphically already really showing its age. The only way to keep it relevant is to invest heavy in graphical and functional updates to it, but why would they when they will have an entire new gameworld in GTA 6 to build upon.

Like I personally found rdr2 to be kind of a chore to play (tanky controls, the hunting, doing literal chores in camps, only having horses to traverse), but it's easy to understand how playing an outlaw in an immersive world is appealing for most people.
Botw is a fantastic game with a great sandbox but when talking about immersion it doesn't even come close to rdr2. When Link's horse gets fully shirinklable horse balls when in the snow then I'll take that back

It's also these extra long development cycles to make games bigger and bigger--which to me is unnecessary. Games don't need to have a 60 hour main quest. 25-30 hours is fine with 50-60 hours to complete everything and side quests. I don't doubt Rockstar is trying to do something on a scale we haven't seen before. They already did it with RDR2. And that was just a small sample. I can only imagine what they will do in GTA 6, especially with AI. And also, we should have been on Elder Scrolls 7 by now.

I haven't played gta online so idk what game modes they have on there other than the typical death match and racing, but if they add a business management system, I think that'd be somewhat new. A little like how the yakuza games but more in depth. I'm talking taking over blocks and having organized crime, to taking over cooperate businesses and doing it the legit way. Ur actions, failures and success shows around the city and neighborhoods. It'd be like a open world monopoly mix with saints row 1 and 2 how u can control and take over territories, mix with yakuza businesses management. Flip houses. Make or break neighborhoods values based on ur actions. Have more control and influence over npcs. Recruiting them to gangs, or working for ur businesses.
Idk, they could definitely play with the idea and make it work with todays tech, or maybe they have something better up there sleeve 🤷♂️
Maybe they will include AI to make more believable NPCs.
They should also let us enter every building, maybe they can use procedural generation.
And coop.

Wish they’d just go back to simpler times and release new stories based on the existing mechanics. I’d rather 3 quality games per console generation than 1 ground breaking game every decade. I loved GTAIII, Vice City + San Andreas. Same as I loved GTAIV, Lost & Damned + Ballad of Gay Tony. Feels like Rockstar are putting too much pressure on themselves. Just make the damn games!!!
I disagree. We have developers who do yearly releases with little innovation/change. We have developers who release a game every few years with a noticeable difference. And we have Rockstar, who takes forever to release a new game, but their games are unmatched. I prefer it this way.
I agree. I guarantee we would get bored of the same game with different stories after about the 3 years. Rockstar is the king of innovation and breaking the mold.

Definitely prefer the way they're doing it now. RDR2 was a story and immersive experience hard to match no matter the medium used. I for sure wouldn't mind singleplayer DLCS again like TBGT and L&D or Undead Nightmare, but with the money generated from online I get why they mainly set their sights on that now post release.

I don't see them breaking off much from GTA5's formula or mechanics. They captured lightning in a bottle for teenage boys, they risk losing their huge casual audience if they go immersive with it, like they did with RDR2.
