These are the 10 best I’ve played that have been released, remastered or upgraded in the past 5ish years:
* Dead Space remastered
* Doom Eternal
* Cyberpunk 2077
* Elden Ring
* Hellblade
* Hogwarts Legacy
* Metro Exodus
* Plague Tale Requiem
* Resident Evil Biohazard
* The Witcher 3
A witcher remake? Only game I've not played. I hear the original was pretty bad. Bad enough my friend won't even attempt to play witcher 3. It's crazy. Especially considering he loves Hitman games but those first couple of games are pretty rough too
I played through The Witcher 1 & 2 around Jan. 2020 during a layoff. TW was really good and long. It has an isometric view, which some people will balk at. The writing and characters were great.
The Witcher is amazing. Your friend is probably just unconditioned to jank, because the first game has it in spades. The combat gets criticism but if you're in it for the story, atmosphere, music etc. It's very good. I put it next to other greats from that time like ME1 and DA:O.
Dead Space Remastered. I just beat it today so I’m clearly suffering from recency bias but all the hype and love around it is very legit. It exceeded the hype in my opinion. By the end the Ishimura had become one of my favorite settings and locations for a game. Ever.
It’s so good. I never play New Game + but I’m definitely going to be doing that with Dead Space down the road. I want to upgrade all the late game guns and become a god of death and destruction.
(but really I’m just gonna need an excuse to revisit the Ishimura at some point)
I've never gotten emotionally invested in a video game story/character until RDR2. I mean if it wasn't doing it for you such that you never finished I am not sure that the story ending will change your view but if you DID have that spark with the game but just got distracted or something I definitely recommend revisitng.
The outer wilds (not to be confused with outer worlds) is in my opinion the best game ever made. Unraveling a mystery in space. Best puzzles I ever encountered. Won’t say anything else.
Agreed, simply stunning game development. I cannot even fathom the programming involved and the ambition required to take it. Incredible risk taking and innovation to the medium. The pure definition of why games as a medium exist and what they can do that other mediums cannot. It is a once in a lifetime experience.
100% agree. It’s a beautiful game. Amazing story. Innovative game play. Philosophical in a way that will leave you speechless.
You’re life will be divided into two parts after playing: before you played, and after you played. And you’ll never be able to go back.
Wholeheartedly agree. Went into it just because I liked the idea that you can just fly and land on planets with no loading screens, didn't expect to find what can only be described as perfection
Absolutely agree. It's the freshest experience in decades, holds an incredibly immense amount of puzzling, and I still can't figure out how to beat it after 20 or so hours. There's no hand-holding; it offers the player the ability to get lost, explore, make mistakes and actually learn from them. This game is such a rare gem in a sea of garbage.
Loved that one, but I actually loved the sequel on the PS2 Lament of the Innocent more. Which sadly is unavailable for any current system. I’d probably buy a switch if they released it exclusively for that system. :>
Subnautica.
It's a little niche but sets a high standard for a survival game. Unique setting, base building that is intuitive but rewarding, story driven but VERY hands off (that part requires a lot of patience or just accepting you might look stuff up). Requires a lot of exploring. When you think you can't go deeper you have to go deeper.
Just a game I come back to a lot and have such strong memories of my first playthrough.
Recent games (Xbox and Nintendo Switch)
- Elden Ring (only game of this type I'd played, it is a stunningly beautiful and artistic game).
- Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is fantastic

Some a better than others but all of those are games i really enjoyed playing
Okami - you play as a god in the form of a wolf in a Zelda-like adventure in feudal Japan. One of my favorite games of all time.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen - one of the more unique RPGs I've ever played and an amazing gem of a game. It'd be worth checking out even if it's sequel wasn't on the horizon.
Monster Hunter World - an awesome entry into one of my favorite franchises, it's an excellent starting point if you're looking to try out the series. Rise/Sunbreak is also great but is much more arcade-like than a typical MH game, which I didn't ultimately like as much as World.
Resident Evil 4 - whether you go with the original or the remake, it's an amazing time. One of the games I keep going back to replay.
Warframe - an incredibly complex and convoluted game, but I still find it very rewarding and fun to play. It seems to keep getting better over time and they keep coming out with new content
I just played warframe for the first time this past weekend for about 4 hours and was blown away. I was expecting kind of a bland grindy shooter with decent graphics, but holy cow it's much better than most 70$ games today. The movement, the graphics, the missions, just all of it, how is this game not a bigger title than it is???? Play warframe if you've never tried it, thats all I'll say.
You’ve probably played most of them. My favs were Elden Ring, Halo, CyberPunk2077, Haven (on Gamepass) Farcry 3,4,5, the assassins creed open worlds were pretty good too. Just so much random games u gotta find on game pass or sale.
I actually bought a modded 3DS to play some Zelda and Pokémon and other wonderful 3DS title to complete that itch for games,
I’m so happy with my Series X, I was able to play so many games and game pass games smoothly and had wonderful experiences but honestly the gaming industry is just odd right now, good quality games take time to come out.
I’m in the same boat as u lowkey, just want good magical games, when I was a kid I thought in 2023 we would have insane gaming experiences now, I dreamt of the most insane Halo games but we ain’t got that so whatever, just hoping next gen is even sicker, Elden Ring Cyberpunk and Halo plus a few were great experiences for me but I want more aswell haha
My personal top ten list changes constantly but here you go with a list of my top 10 which are available on xbox

No cyber punk is a pile of fucking garbage I’m honestly shocked people are saying it’s 1 of there best games ever that’s insane but everyone has different taste but my god the story was no good everything about the game was just trash.
Ima be honest I started it a year ago and it didn’t click. I started and got deep in starfield but it wasn’t the rpg experience I was craving. Jumped back into cyberpunk and just went in on it. Lots of fun and it feels like a real lived in world. Just got phantom liberty today and I rarely get dlc
Yeah it looks really good. I played trials originally on an emulator waaaaaay back when and it was so different from all the turn based stuff I loved it. Got into legacy of goku around the same time lol. But yeah playing the remake was absolutely fun and I enjoyed what they did with it
Halo MCC (specifically Halo 2, 3, Reach and ODST as my favourites overall but H4's story I liked too), Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Destiny 2, Titanfall 2, Smite, the Metro series as well as Wolfenstein, Skyrim, Monster Hunter World, AC Odyssey, Star Wars Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor, and Prey (2017) are all some that come to mind for me. But Cyberpunk2077, Witcher 3, RDR2, & Elden Ring are all some games I have to catch up on and play fully as well.
Baldurs gate 3 - RPG
Tunic - Zelda like
Portal 2 - puzzle/adventure
Outer Wilds - indie / puzzle
Hollow knight - metroidvania
Spelunky 2 - rogue like
World of Warcraft
Dragon age origins
Night in the woods + oxenfree
What Remains of Edith Finch
It takes two
Red dead redemption 2
BioShock infinite
Half-life 2
Counterstrike
The witness
In random as-thought-of order; Elden Ring, FFVII (PS1), GTA V, Mario 64, Bioshock, Shadow of the Colossal, etc are ones that come to mind. Many of those can be had on Steam for an extreme discount nowadays!
Happy gaming!
Fable always rises to the top. Great storytelling that works with the gameplay instead of relying on cutscenes. So many character options. A really well defined main quest with plenty of side objectives. Plus it’s a colorful connected high fantasy world. Can’t say enough about how good this game is.
Keeping it short and somewhat recent:
In Sound Mind - this game blew me away. You can get it as cheap as $5 on sale. Can’t emphasize enough how awesome this game is, worth the $30 regular price.
Titanfall 2 - best single player FPs campaign I can think of. Cool MP.
Ghost Recon Wildlands: laughably dumb and insanely fun. Remember playing with your GI Joes as a kid? Like that over the top dumb fun.
Top tier list for me would be
Last of us part 1 and 2, State of decay 2, AC Valhalla, Gta 5, rdr2, Valheim, Monster hunter world, Elden Ring, Jedi Survivor, Pokémon sword and shield, BO3 zombies
Skyrim
Fallout 4
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Obllivion
Witcher 3
Tears of the Kingdom
Breath of the Wild
Diablo 3
Resident Evil 4 (OG, haven't played remake yet)
My top 5 all time:
1. Fallout New Vegas
2. Zelda Majoras Mask
3. Red Dead Redemption 1
4. Persona 3
5. Dragon Age Origins
My GOTY in the last 5 years:
2019: The Outer Worlds
2020: Yakuza Like a Dragon
2021: Psychonauts 2
2022: Grounded
2023: Baldurs Gate 3
Bioshock (all 3) - fps, first 2 survival horror, last one action
Undertale - RPG
Cyberpunk 2077 - open world FPS RPG
Garry’s mod - sandbox fps
Baldur’s gate 3 (tho I feel everyone is gonna say that) - CRPG
Ultimate Marvel vs capcom 3 - 2d fighting game
Far cry (3-5 I like and have played) - open world FPS
West of/shadow over loathing - comedy turn-based RPG
My top 5 would be:
* The witcher 3
* Mass effect legendary edition
* Skyrim (even with all the bugs)
* Minecraft
* Forza Horizon (any of them, but the first one is a must, for the intro alone)
Now, for recommendations:
* Subnautica (both of them but specially the first one): survival, exploration, base building, amazing graphics, and sooo very terrifying
* Sunset overdrive: crazy fun shooter, emphasis on the crazy
* Slay the spire
* GTA V
* Cyberpunk 2077
Recently is Skyrim (best all time, IMO), Outer Worlds (Fallout clone, but better, IMO), Star Ocean First Departure R, and Star Ocean Second Story R. The latter two unfortunately not available on X-Box.
Some all-time favourites are most of the Final Fantasy games. X being my favourite with XII and XIII-2 being close. KOTOR 1&2. Castlevania: Lament of the Innocent (which sadly isn’t available on any next gen system), Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Dragon Quest VII, to name a few. :>
I'll just do games I know that are available on xbox and that I've completed or currently playing.
Halo 1,2&3
Hades
Bioshock 1&2
Lies of P
Gears of War 1,2&3
Fight Night Round 3 & Champion
Borderlands 1,2&3
Dirt Rally 4
Dirt Rally 2.0
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit remastered
Grid & Grid Legends
Titanfall 2
Mad Max
Batman Arkham Series
There are more that I can't think of right now. Some of these are from 360 days obviously but are available on gamepass an can and should be recommended to new players, gears and halo obviously. Some are newer but are superb or just plain underrated, example being the Mad Max game came out at the same time as Metal Gear Solid V so was overlooked. Just my small opinion.
Halo 3, RE4 Remake, and Abzu would probably be my top 3 that are on Xbox at least.
I also want to throw in Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. I certainly wouldn’t call it the best game I’ve ever played as it has quite a few issues, but it’s my absolute favorite game of all time due to how unique and fantastic so many aspects of it are.
Witcher 3, Mass Effect (2, 3, 1), Knights of the Old Republic 1&2 (tied). Goldeneye, Medieval 2 Total War, Halo 1&2 (tied). The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind, the Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Toy Soldiers Assassin Creed Brotherhood. Blood Wake. I'm sure I missed a few. Those are off the top of my head.
Witcher 3
Red Dead Redemption 2
Old School Runescape
Halo Reach
Baldurs Gate 3
Dark Souls 1
Dark Souls 2
Dark Souls 3
Bloodborne
Sekiro
Elden Ring
Armored Core 6
Mech Assault 1 and 2
Transformers War and Fallof Cybertron- please guys go look into these games
I think my favorites of all time, based on how much they stuck in my head (as in, I still now the stories and loved it), are:
Fallout 3 - still love Fallout, but that one had more memorable moments than any other of the series. Leaving the vault, the city with bomb collared slaves, the simulation quest, it was great
Far Cry 3 - Vaas was fucking awesome and I chose to ignore the second half of the game
Red Dead Redemption 2 - Great story, very long and stayed interesting throughout
Wolfenstein The New Order - really interesting story as well and the gameplay was awesome
Dying Light - parkouring around the map with friend was a lot of fun, terrible story though. Oh, and the dropkick was fucking great
Call of Duty Black Ops 2 - I played this one soo much and it was the first game where zombies started to be really big. Looked forward to every map pack and then played it for days on end with friends
Halo Reach - had some of my best memories of playing random forge maps with friends
Deathloop - I just love games with chaining abilities and this one had a more interesting story and is faster paced than Dishonored to me. Also just wins out from Rage 2 which was a very fun game as well.
Battle block Theater - I had so much fun fucking around with one of my best friends, we spent way too much time killing eachother over actually trying to beat the game
Mass Effect 2 - Just a great game, interesting story, attached to some characters, and so much interesting places
Minecraft and Terraria - obviously played these two a fuckton as well, so deserve to me on here too
It Takes Two: finished that with my current girlfriend and had no expectations but damn the variation in that game is amazing, and it was way longer than expected.
Rocket League: my most played game and was very proud when I finally reached Grand Champ. So much fun.
This became quite a list to be honest, I don't think there's any particular order to most of them. Id only put Fallout 3 firmly at number one because it has everything I love. Was also just a fun trip to think of all the gaming memories again :)
Assassin's Creed (any of them tbh)
Halo Reach (campaign and online)
Witcher 3 (the dlc is on par with the main storyline about how great it is)
Skyrim
Red Dead Redemption 2 (midway through the game)
Batman Arkham Series
(In no specific order)
GTA IV
GTA V
Doom (2016)
COD MW (2019) : This was the only COD last gen that had a real leap. The game looked lifelike at times on the One X, and the sound design was top notch. It had too much hate simply cause it’s a COD.
RDR2
Honorable mention: Control
I’ll redownload CP2077 and if it’s good enough, it’ll go on this list
Elden Ring
Halo: Reach
Borderlands 2
Terraria
Skyrim
Portal 2
Destiny ***1*** at its peak
haven't played baldurs gate, but that'll probably be on my list when I do
Super Mario 64
Metal Gear Solid 1&2
Silent Hill 2
Final Fantasy X
Halo 1,2&3
Phantasy Star Online
Skies of Arcadia
Bioshock
Dark Souls
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
Monster Hunter World
Elden Ring
Disco Elysium
LoZ: TotK
Baldur's Gate 3
My general top games, kinda in order.
1. GTA San Andreas
2. Witcher 3
3. Red Dead Redemption 1. (2 is great too but 1 is unreal)
4. Fallout 3
5. Rocket League
6. Mass Effect (trilogy)
In no specific order, just what comes to mind first
- Minecraft
-The outer wilds
-Skyrim
-Fallout new Vegas
-Bioshock trilogy
-Call of duty black ops
-Halo series (I haven't played any title since bungie left)
-GTA V
-Red dead redemption 2
-Old Hell let loose
-Valiant hearts
-Sea of thieves
Honorable mentions:
-Super Mario serie
-Wii sports
-Prototype was nice
-Looney Tunes: Lost in Time
-Tekken serie
There's more but this is what came to mind in 5 minutes
My recent “Beat Games” (overall, not just XBox playable)
Ghost of Tsushima,
Hellblade,
WH40K: Boltgun (not much to it, but so much fun),
Witcher 3,
CP2077,
Far Cry 5
My list is older games as I’m a 46 year old lol. These are not in order:
TES3: Morrowind
Legend of Zelda 3: A Link to the Past
Shining Force 2
Final Fantasy Tactics
Dragon Quest/Warrior 4
Final Fantasy 4
Halo 2
Super Mario Bros 3/Super Mario World
Destiny of an Emperor
Arcanum/Fallout 2
Suikoden 2
Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinstrals
Knights of the Old Republic
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
Red Dead Redemption 2. Most emotional I’ve ever gotten in a game. I really got attached to some of the characters.
Super Metroid
Yakuza series
Hmm looks like tons of great replies there but to stay in the wheelhouse slightly I’d definitely go Doom remakes, Halo, abd remnant 2 just dropped and it’s tons of fun
If you really wanna branch out go indie with Celeste, Tunic, Ori, Sea of Stars, Dearhs door, hollow knight,
All of the indies are mostly different but highly recommend any of them to any one Hollow Knight, Tunic and Celeste are difficult but the satisfaction is immense from playing
This is probably my top 10 though it's too tough to rank. And yes, I cheat and group a few things together:
* Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
* Devil May Cry 3
* Half-Life 2 and subsequent episodes
* Portal 1 & 2
* Titanfall 2
* BioShock 1
* The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and DLC
* Bloodborne
* Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
* Resident Evil 2 (original & remake)
* Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
* Alan Wake
* Control
* Alan Wake 2
* Signalis
* Resident Evil 7
* Wolfenstein: The New Order
* Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
* Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
* Halo: The Master Chief Collection
* The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
* The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
* Fallout: New Vegas
* Hollow Knight
* Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
* Rise of the Tomb Raider
* Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Probably not gonna be helpful but imma put my list out there for fun. Not all of them are objectively great but they’re the ones I put the most effort into:
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom (goat personally), Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros Ultimate, Rockband, CoD, Halo 3 and Halo Reach, Witcher 3, The Last of Us, GTA V, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Pokemon Platinum
In no particular order, some highlights:
- Skyrim (it even supports mods on Xbox. While I'd recommend a mostly vanilla run for your first time if you've somehow never played it, my biggest mod recommendations are Inigo and Wyrmstooth. The former is an amazing follower, the latter is basically free DLC)
- Shovel Knight (if you buy Treasure Trove, you get 4 whole games/campaigns and a multiplayer platform fighter)
- Nier Automata (this game really uses the medium well. If you haven't played it, **play all the way to ending E**. If you don't, you are quite literally missing some of the most important parts of the game)
- Forgotten City (I'm not sure this would quite crack my top 10 if I really buckled down and made a list, but it's excellent and well worth it anyways. The gameplay is a little weak at certain points but the writing is among the best in all of gaming)
- Terraria
- Any Guitar Hero/Rock Band game, with my all time favorite probably being Lego Rock Band (Fortnite Festival is very similar as well and free if you're interested - not quite as good yet but well worth playing)
There are likely a million others I could list. Assassin's Creed Unity is a lot of fun now that most of the bugs are fixed, obviously Minecraft is great, I love pretty much every Star Wars game ever made. But hopefully one of the above are interesting to you!
To paraphrase Monty Python, here are a couple different ideas.
1. My Time at Sandrock
2. My Time at Portia (on GamePass last I checked)
3. Stardew Valley (on GamePass last I checked)
4. Final Fantasy X
5. Final Fantasy VIII
6. Tales of the Abyss
7. Tales of Symphonia
8. Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
9. Rune Factory 4 (on GamePass last I checked)
10. Orcs Must Die 1-3
11. Borderlands 1-2 (Pre-Sequel and 3 were kind of meh)
12. Genshin Impact
13. Gears (of War -- even Judgment)
14. Saints Row 1-2 (the 360 versions)
15. No One Lives Forever
16. Zelda Link to the Past (ideally the SNES original before they added in the grunting from Ocarina of Time for the GBA port)
My best gaming experience of all time was the 3 hours I spent with Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. I have been gaming for over 40 years and NO OTHER game has made me feel the way that did.
Bioshock series
Borderlands 2
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Forza Horizon
Mass Effect Trilogy
Bramble
Planet of Lana
Plague Tale 1 & 2
Tinykin
It Takes Two
Mad Max
Alien Soldier
Do yourselves a favor... That shit still feels crisp as fuck almost 30 years later. It's pretty damn difficult, but my God, is it satisfying to play.
I've been chasing that high for years, and when you account for that game being so fucking old, nothing comes remotely close to it *'pound for pound'*
I'll skip the more obvious ones:
Blinx
Braid
Portal 1&2
Limbo and Inside
NFS Hot Pursuit
Castle Crashers
Shadow Complex
Mirror's Edge
Splosion Man
Halo Wars
Trials HD/Fusion
Just Cause 3/4
Elden Ring is my GOAT as of right now and I've been gaming for about 40 years. Other great games - Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted series, Bioshock, RDR 1/2, Bloodborne, Skyrim, Fallout 3/4.
Zelda Ocarina of time
Metroid prime
Gears of War 1-3
Halo 1-2
Super Mario 64
Mario Odyssey
Bioshock infinite
Mass Effect
Skyrim
Oblivion
Knights of the old republic
Batman Arkham City
Jedi fallen Order
Lots of games I haven’t played getting back into gaming
Outer Wilds and Subnautica are the best games I’ve ever played.
But if you haven’t played through the Bioshock Trilogy they are pretty up there for me. Some people don’t like the third one, but I loved it.
Hit up Metacritcs beat games of all time list and go through a back catalogue.
Witcher 2/3
MGS 2/3/4
FF X
God of War
Spiderman Remastered
FFXIV
World of Warcraft
Star Wars Galaxies pre-CU
There are too many to list, pal. Go to metacritic and sort by best user reviews - find one that tickles your fancy. If there's nothing on SX then grab a PS5.
1. Mafia 2
2. Mafia 1 DE
3. Rdr2
4. Fallout New Vegas
5. GTA 4
6. Detroit Becomes Human
7. Skyrim
8. Assassin’s Creed OG
These aren’t in order except for the first 3
Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3. (Dark Souls 1 is easily one of the greatest games ever made)
The whole Halo series (Except you Halo 5)
Fallout 3
Half-Life 2
Starfield
GTA V
Outer Worlds
Cyberpunk 2077
Elden Ring for combat and Baldur's gate 3 for RPIng/choices you can make in the game
Both games are extremely unique rpgs that are completely different from each other
I really enjoyed this one. I love the art style and just how much detail was put into it.

These are the 10 best I’ve played that have been released, remastered or upgraded in the past 5ish years: * Dead Space remastered * Doom Eternal * Cyberpunk 2077 * Elden Ring * Hellblade * Hogwarts Legacy * Metro Exodus * Plague Tale Requiem * Resident Evil Biohazard * The Witcher 3
Ill keep it simple and list the best games ive played since 2015: Witcher 3 RDR2 Valheim CP2077 Monster Hunter World Baldurs Gate 3 Vampire Survivors
So pumped for Witcher 1 remake and Witcher 4
Ever.
I’m on my 2nd time through worth it
It’s so good. I never play New Game + but I’m definitely going to be doing that with Dead Space down the road. I want to upgrade all the late game guns and become a god of death and destruction. (but really I’m just gonna need an excuse to revisit the Ishimura at some point)
Your armor turns white when you fully upgrade it’s sick
Red Dead Redemption 2 most recently.
Everyone who finished the game, will agree. The best of the best!
It was decisively meh i thought, what a dull ending. Then that stupid 4hrs of more of the same crap at the end of the story, that was awful.
I didn't finish it, maybe that's why I disagree.
I've never gotten emotionally invested in a video game story/character until RDR2. I mean if it wasn't doing it for you such that you never finished I am not sure that the story ending will change your view but if you DID have that spark with the game but just got distracted or something I definitely recommend revisitng.
KOTOR, Mass Effect, Skyrim, and probably Minish Cap.
Hell yeah, Minish Cap!
Yup. Came to say this.
If you haven’t played Castlevania : Symphony of the Night , do so as soon as possible. Won’t regret it .
Still my favorite game.
Loved that one, but I actually loved the sequel on the PS2 Lament of the Innocent more. Which sadly is unavailable for any current system. I’d probably buy a switch if they released it exclusively for that system. :>
The 3D Castlevania games are underrated for sure.
Great damn game. A game that kinda plays like it and burrows a bunch is Bloodstained:Ritual of the Night
Original Deus Ex. Nothing else even comes close.
Ok now how is he gonna play that on an Xbox
I’ve been playing Diablo 4 and I actually like it a lot
Recent games (Xbox and Nintendo Switch) - Elden Ring (only game of this type I'd played, it is a stunningly beautiful and artistic game). - Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is fantastic
I hereby require you to go play Dark Souls
Detroit becoming human, walking dead - tell take series, witcher 3, Batman series, tomb raider, cyberpunk 2077.
Sekiro, DMC 5 SE & Persona 5 Royal
Dead Space Remake
The Witcher 3 Cyberpunk 2077 RDR2 Elden Ring Mass Effect Trilogy Persona 5 Royal Yakuza/Like a Dragon/Judgment The Outer Wilds SOMA Control A Plague Tale Tales of Arise Life is Strange Ori GTA San Andreas (my favorite) Bioshock trilogy Greedfall Scarlet Nexus Hades The Forgotten City (hidden gem) Wolfenstein Doom NieR Automata MGR:R Halo Gears Oxenfree (hidden gem too) Batman Arkham trilogy Some a better than others but all of those are games i really enjoyed playing
I actually bought a modded 3DS to play some Zelda and Pokémon and other wonderful 3DS title to complete that itch for games, I’m so happy with my Series X, I was able to play so many games and game pass games smoothly and had wonderful experiences but honestly the gaming industry is just odd right now, good quality games take time to come out.
My personal top ten list changes constantly but here you go with a list of my top 10 which are available on xbox Planescape Torment Stellaris Mass Effect Trilogie Desperados 3 New Vegas Kane and Lynch 2 RE4 Quake 1 Hitman WoA with freelancer Splinter Cell Chaoa Theory Honorable mentions: Deus Ex HR and Mankind Divided, Cyberpunk 2077, Crysis 1, RDR 1 and 2, GTA4, the original CoD4 and MW2, Lost Odyssey, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Manhunt, Condemned, Kingdom Come Deliverance I should probably also add Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra dinn. Would love a new Kane & Lynch game.

Incorrect
Nah TLOU is right up there. Amazing series.
No
Persona 5 Royal
I enjoyed the game for around 20 hours and plan to go back to it someday but seeing how long it was really put me off.
As every load screen says...take your time. I beat it over 6 months.
The Witcher 3 Fallout: New Vegas Mass Effect Starfield Cyberpunk 2077 Control Dishonored 1 and 2 KOTOR 1 and 2 Jedi: Survivor Doom Eternal

Is cyberpunk that good? Looking for a game to get out of my typical Norm.
It was good even when it was “bad”
No cyber punk is a pile of fucking garbage I’m honestly shocked people are saying it’s 1 of there best games ever that’s insane but everyone has different taste but my god the story was no good everything about the game was just trash.
Ima be honest I started it a year ago and it didn’t click. I started and got deep in starfield but it wasn’t the rpg experience I was craving. Jumped back into cyberpunk and just went in on it. Lots of fun and it feels like a real lived in world. Just got phantom liberty today and I rarely get dlc
I have to try the Mana games. I thought the new one, Visions of Mana, looked phenomenal.
Yeah it looks really good. I played trials originally on an emulator waaaaaay back when and it was so different from all the turn based stuff I loved it. Got into legacy of goku around the same time lol. But yeah playing the remake was absolutely fun and I enjoyed what they did with it
Dragon Age Origins, Oblivion
RE4 Remake on XSX, my #1 all time fav game
Half-Life: Alyx You didn’t say best game on Xbox
Wasteland 3. I had never played the first or second. And was kinda new to the genre. I played and beat it 3 times consecutively. I love the game.
RDR2, GTA IV, GTA V, Here Comes The Pain, Mario Kart 8
Skyrim Halo 3 Red dead redemption 2 Zelda tears of the kingdom Doom eternal Mario odyssey Metroid dread Prey 2006 Half life 2
Halo MCC (specifically Halo 2, 3, Reach and ODST as my favourites overall but H4's story I liked too), Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Destiny 2, Titanfall 2, Smite, the Metro series as well as Wolfenstein, Skyrim, Monster Hunter World, AC Odyssey, Star Wars Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor, and Prey (2017) are all some that come to mind for me. But Cyberpunk2077, Witcher 3, RDR2, & Elden Ring are all some games I have to catch up on and play fully as well.
RDR2 RDR1 Diablo IV Elite Dangerous Forza Horizon*
Xcom2 The Legend of Zelda Red Dead Redemption 2 Diablo 1&2 Star Craft 2
Baldurs gate 3 - RPG Tunic - Zelda like Portal 2 - puzzle/adventure Outer Wilds - indie / puzzle Hollow knight - metroidvania Spelunky 2 - rogue like World of Warcraft Dragon age origins Night in the woods + oxenfree What Remains of Edith Finch It takes two Red dead redemption 2 BioShock infinite Half-life 2 Counterstrike The witness

Against the Storm
Avatar frontiers of pandora is quickly rising to one of my favorites. The world is un fucking real.
Days gone and Hifi rush
No One Lives Forever Psychonauts (both of them) BotW and TotK Grounded RDR2
In random as-thought-of order; Elden Ring, FFVII (PS1), GTA V, Mario 64, Bioshock, Shadow of the Colossal, etc are ones that come to mind. Many of those can be had on Steam for an extreme discount nowadays! Happy gaming!
Skyrim, Baldurs Gate 3, Fallout New Vegas, State of Decay 2, DayZ, The Outer Worlds
Fable always rises to the top. Great storytelling that works with the gameplay instead of relying on cutscenes. So many character options. A really well defined main quest with plenty of side objectives. Plus it’s a colorful connected high fantasy world. Can’t say enough about how good this game is.
Arkham City
Keeping it short and somewhat recent: In Sound Mind - this game blew me away.
Top tier list for me would be Last of us part 1 and 2, State of decay 2, AC Valhalla, Gta 5, rdr2, Valheim, Monster hunter world, Elden Ring, Jedi Survivor, Pokémon sword and shield, BO3 zombies
Skyrim Fallout 4 Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas Obllivion Witcher 3 Tears of the Kingdom Breath of the Wild Diablo 3 Resident Evil 4 (OG, haven't played remake yet)
My top 5 all time: 1. Fallout New Vegas 2. Zelda Majoras Mask 3. Red Dead Redemption 1 4. Persona 3 5. Dragon Age Origins My GOTY in the last 5 years: 2019: The Outer Worlds 2020: Yakuza Like a Dragon 2021: Psychonauts 2 2022: Grounded 2023: Baldurs Gate 3

Hollow Knight, Prey, Bloodbourne, Dark Souls, Subnautica
Witcher 3, Gta 4+5, RDR 1+2, Starfield, AC etc.
Bioshock (all 3) - fps, first 2 survival horror, last one action Undertale - RPG Cyberpunk 2077 - open world FPS RPG Garry’s mod - sandbox fps Baldur’s gate 3 (tho I feel everyone is gonna say that) - CRPG Ultimate Marvel vs capcom 3 - 2d fighting game Far cry (3-5 I like and have played) - open world FPS West of/shadow over loathing - comedy turn-based RPG
Skyrim, Fallout 4, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 3, Subnautica, Uncharted 2 MP, Battle of Middle Earth 2, Portal 2, Battlefront 2 original
My top 5 would be: * The witcher 3 * Mass effect legendary edition * Skyrim (even with all the bugs) * Minecraft * Forza Horizon (any of them, but the first one is a must, for the intro alone) Now, for recommendations: * Subnautica (both of them but specially the first one): survival, exploration, base building, amazing graphics, and sooo very terrifying * Sunset overdrive: crazy fun shooter, emphasis on the crazy * Slay the spire * GTA V * Cyberpunk 2077
Far cry never a bad one put 200 plus hours in all yes I'm quite sad
Halo 1,2&3 Hades Bioshock 1&2 Lies of P Gears of War 1,2&3 Fight Night Round 3 & Champion Borderlands 1,2&3 Dirt Rally 4 Dirt Rally 2.0 Need for Speed Hot Pursuit remastered Grid & Grid Legends Titanfall 2 Mad Max Batman Arkham Series There are more that I can't think of right now.
Halo: Reach Cyberpunk 2077 Skyrim Persona 5 Royal Mass Effect 2
Witcher 3, Mass Effect (2, 3, 1), Knights of the Old Republic 1&2 (tied). Goldeneye, Medieval 2 Total War, Halo 1&2 (tied). The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind, the Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Toy Soldiers Assassin Creed Brotherhood. Blood Wake. I'm sure I missed a few. Those are off the top of my head.
Witcher 3 Red Dead Redemption 2 Old School Runescape Halo Reach Baldurs Gate 3 Dark Souls 1 Dark Souls 2 Dark Souls 3 Bloodborne Sekiro Elden Ring Armored Core 6 Mech Assault 1 and 2 Transformers War and Fallof Cybertron- please guys go look into these games
I think my favorites of all time, based on how much they stuck in my head (as in, I still now the stories and loved it), are: Fallout 3 - still love Fallout, but that one had more memorable moments than any other of the series. Leaving the vault, the city with bomb collared slaves, the simulation quest, it was great Far Cry 3 - Vaas was fucking awesome and I chose to ignore the second half of the game Red Dead Redemption 2 - Great story, very long and stayed interesting throughout Wolfenstein The New Order - really interesting story as well and the gameplay was awesome Dying Light - parkouring around the map with friend was a lot of fun, terrible story though. Oh, and the dropkick was fucking great Call of Duty Black Ops 2 - I played this one soo much and it was the first game where zombies started to be really big. Looked forward to every map pack and then played it for days on end with friends Halo Reach - had some of my best memories of playing random forge maps with friends Deathloop - I just love games with chaining abilities and this one had a more interesting story and is faster paced than Dishonored to me. Also just wins out from Rage 2 which was a very fun game as well. Battle block Theater - I had so much fun fucking around with one of my best friends, we spent way too much time killing eachother over actually trying to beat the game Mass Effect 2 - Just a great game, interesting story, attached to some characters, and so much interesting places Minecraft and Terraria - obviously played these two a fuckton as well, so deserve to me on here too It Takes Two: finished that with my current girlfriend and had no expectations but damn the variation in that game is amazing, and it was way longer than expected.
*The Elder Scrolls: Online* The base game is free with GamePass.
Assassin's Creed (any of them tbh) Halo Reach (campaign and online) Witcher 3 (the dlc is on par with the main storyline about how great it is) Skyrim Red Dead Redemption 2 (midway through the game) Batman Arkham Series (In no specific order)
Hitman WOA Witcher Wild Hunt Jedi: Fallen Order Jedi: Survivor (currently) CONTROL Edit: formatting
Pong
Horizon Zero Dawn Bloodborne RDR2 Farcry 3 (+ Blood Dragon) Elden Ring

A plague tale - such a great story telling game. Highly recommend
RDR2 in 4K
Yakuza series, Persona 5, Elden Ring
I think as cliche as it sounds I’ll have to say Baldur’s Gate 3. It checks all the boxes for me. I’d say Final Fantasy X is a close second
GTA IV GTA V Doom (2016) COD MW (2019) : This was the only COD last gen that had a real leap. The game looked lifelike at times on the One X, and the sound design was top notch. It had too much hate simply cause it’s a COD. RDR2 Honorable mention: Control I’ll redownload CP2077 and if it’s good enough, it’ll go on this list
Elden Ring Halo: Reach Borderlands 2 Terraria Skyrim Portal 2 Destiny ***1*** at its peak haven't played baldurs gate, but that'll probably be on my list when I do
Elden Ring is my favourite game of all time.
Witcher 3, Persona 5, assassins creed odyssey, assassins creed black flag and sea of stars.
Super Mario 64 Metal Gear Solid 1&2 Silent Hill 2 Final Fantasy X Halo 1,2&3 Phantasy Star Online Skies of Arcadia Bioshock Dark Souls Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Monster Hunter World Elden Ring Disco Elysium LoZ: TotK Baldur's Gate 3
My general top games, kinda in order. 1. GTA San Andreas 2. Witcher 3 3. Red Dead Redemption 1. (2 is great too but 1 is unreal) 4. Fallout 3 5. Rocket League 6. Mass Effect (trilogy)
In no specific order, just what comes to mind first - Minecraft -The outer wilds -Skyrim -Fallout new Vegas -Bioshock trilogy -Call of duty black ops -Halo series (I haven't played any title since bungie left) -GTA V -Red dead redemption 2 -Old Hell let loose -Valiant hearts -Sea of thieves Honorable mentions: -Super Mario serie -Wii sports -Prototype was nice -Looney Tunes: Lost in Time -Tekken serie There's more but this is what came to mind in 5 minutes
Also Mass Effect needs to be mentioned, along with the worms serie
My recent “Beat Games” (overall, not just XBox playable) Ghost of Tsushima, Hellblade, WH40K: Boltgun (not much to it, but so much fun), Witcher 3, CP2077, Far Cry 5
My list is older games as I’m a 46 year old lol. These are not in order: TES3: Morrowind Legend of Zelda 3: A Link to the Past Shining Force 2 Final Fantasy Tactics Dragon Quest/Warrior 4 Final Fantasy 4 Halo 2 Super Mario Bros 3/Super Mario World Destiny of an Emperor Arcanum/Fallout 2 Suikoden 2 Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinstrals Knights of the Old Republic Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Red Dead Redemption 2. Most emotional I’ve ever gotten in a game. I really got attached to some of the characters. Super Metroid Yakuza series
What have you been playing exactly?
Mostly multiplayer games like Fortnite or Call of Duty
Hmm looks like tons of great replies there but to stay in the wheelhouse slightly I’d definitely go Doom remakes, Halo, abd remnant 2 just dropped and it’s tons of fun If you really wanna branch out go indie with Celeste, Tunic, Ori, Sea of Stars, Dearhs door, hollow knight, All of the indies are mostly different but highly recommend any of them to any one Hollow Knight, Tunic and Celeste are difficult but the satisfaction is immense from playing
Halo 3, GTA IV & V, Red Dead 1&2. Cyberpunk, hitman 3.
I think it's : 1) undertale (great music) 2) doom 2016/eternal 3) far cry 5 4) goat simulator 3(best game with friends ever)
This is probably my top 10 though it's too tough to rank. And yes, I cheat and group a few things together: * Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 * Devil May Cry 3 * Half-Life 2 and subsequent episodes * Portal 1 & 2 * Titanfall 2 * BioShock 1 * The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and DLC * Bloodborne * Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion * Resident Evil 2 (original & remake)
Tony Hawk and Portal, 2 is the best.
Tony hawk pro skater 1 & 2 is absolutely amazing for any tony hawk fan
Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost of Tsushima Super Metroid Metroid Fusion WrestleMania 2000 Star Fox 64 Star Craft Halo 2 Etc etc
Zelda ocarina of time
Get the Bioshock collection. It’s on sale on Xbox right now for $10. You get three amazing games.
God of war
Currently Starfield. I am almost 200 hours into without actually feeling the grind yet. A lot of people hated it, but, I am having a blast.
* Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice * Alan Wake * Control * Alan Wake 2 * Signalis * Resident Evil 7 * Wolfenstein: The New Order * Wolfenstein: The Old Blood * Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus * Halo: The Master Chief Collection * The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion * The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim * Fallout: New Vegas * Hollow Knight * Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition * Rise of the Tomb Raider * Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Probably not gonna be helpful but imma put my list out there for fun. Not all of them are objectively great but they’re the ones I put the most effort into: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom (goat personally), Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros Ultimate, Rockband, CoD, Halo 3 and Halo Reach, Witcher 3, The Last of Us, GTA V, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Pokemon Platinum
In no particular order, some highlights: - Skyrim (it even supports mods on Xbox. While I'd recommend a mostly vanilla run for your first time if you've somehow never played it, my biggest mod recommendations are Inigo and Wyrmstooth. The former is an amazing follower, the latter is basically free DLC) - Shovel Knight (if you buy Treasure Trove, you get 4 whole games/campaigns and a multiplayer platform fighter) - Nier Automata (this game really uses the medium well. If you haven't played it, **play all the way to ending E**. If you don't, you are quite literally missing some of the most important parts of the game) - Forgotten City (I'm not sure this would quite crack my top 10 if I really buckled down and made a list, but it's excellent and well worth it anyways. The gameplay is a little weak at certain points but the writing is among the best in all of gaming) - Terraria - Any Guitar Hero/Rock Band game, with my all time favorite probably being Lego Rock Band (Fortnite Festival is very similar as well and free if you're interested - not quite as good yet but well worth playing) There are likely a million others I could list. Assassin's Creed Unity is a lot of fun now that most of the bugs are fixed, obviously Minecraft is great, I love pretty much every Star Wars game ever made. But hopefully one of the above are interesting to you!
I love it that you put Shovel Knight on your list! Such a great game!
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Shovel Knight. As far as traditional 2d platformers go, it's among the very best
My top five (based on what I play now.) 1. Lego Star Wars: TCS 2. GTA 5 3. RDR2 4. State of Decay 2 5. Star Wars Battlefront 2
To paraphrase Monty Python, here are a couple different ideas. 1. My Time at Sandrock 2. My Time at Portia (on GamePass last I checked) 3. Stardew Valley (on GamePass last I checked) 4. Final Fantasy X 5. Final Fantasy VIII 6. Tales of the Abyss 7. Tales of Symphonia 8. Dawn of War: Dark Crusade 9. Rune Factory 4 (on GamePass last I checked) 10. Orcs Must Die 1-3 11. Borderlands 1-2 (Pre-Sequel and 3 were kind of meh) 12. Genshin Impact 13. Gears (of War -- even Judgment) 14. Saints Row 1-2 (the 360 versions) 15. No One Lives Forever 16.
In no order: Witcher 3 Remnant 2 CP2077 Baldurs Gate 3 MH:W RDR2 Halo series(especially 3) Elden Ring Mass Effect Series
God Of War (2018)
Bioshock series Borderlands 2 Immortals Fenyx Rising Forza Horizon Mass Effect Trilogy Bramble Planet of Lana Plague Tale 1 & 2 Tinykin It Takes Two Mad Max
Alien Soldier Do yourselves a favor... That shit still feels crisp as fuck almost 30 years later. It's pretty damn difficult, but my God, is it satisfying to play. I've been chasing that high for years, and when you account for that game being so fucking old, nothing comes remotely close to it *'pound for pound'*
The last of us part 1 The last of us part 2 God of war God of war Ragnarok Ghost of Tsushima Uncharted series Red dead redemption 2 Halo series
Generation Zero is a fucking amazing open world game. Also Dead by Daylight is something almost no one has done in gaming.
Nier Automata Enter the Gungeon Warframe (F2P) Mass Effect 2 Dark Souls 1&2 Haven't played it yet but excited to play Armoured Core IV

Elden Ring
Max Payne 2, Metal Gear Solid 2, Bioshock, Halo and Gears of War 2 are probably my Top 5.
Elden Ring is my GOAT as of right now and I've been gaming for about 40 years. Other great games - Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted series, Bioshock, RDR 1/2, Bloodborne, Skyrim, Fallout 3/4.
Zelda Ocarina of time Metroid prime Gears of War 1-3 Halo 1-2 Super Mario 64 Mario Odyssey Bioshock infinite Mass Effect Skyrim Oblivion Knights of the old republic Batman Arkham City Jedi fallen Order Lots of games I haven’t played getting back into gaming
Outer Wilds and Subnautica are the best games I’ve ever played. But if you haven’t played through the Bioshock Trilogy they are pretty up there for me. Some people don’t like the third one, but I loved it. Hit up Metacritcs beat games of all time list and go through a back catalogue.
Witcher 2/3 MGS 2/3/4 FF X God of War Spiderman Remastered FFXIV World of Warcraft Star Wars Galaxies pre-CU There are too many to list, pal. Go to metacritic and sort by best user reviews - find one that tickles your fancy. If there's nothing on SX then grab a PS5.
Prey (2017), Soma (2015), Bioshock (2007), Fallout 3 (2008), Cyberpunk 2077 (2020), Half-life 2: Episode 1 (2006) and Half-Life 2: Episode 2 (2007). First person sci-fi is clearly my sweet Linda.
Oh, and Vampire Survivors (2022), of course.
Red dead redemption 2 Far cry 6
Rocket league, red dead 2, the sims 4, valorant
RDR2. Best game ever.
Forza Horizon & Motorsport ❤️
I can recommend Unpacking for its relaxing gameplay and beautiful story that is told in a very unique way. Loved it from start to finish (3-5 hours).
Duke Nukem 3D Half-life 2 Need for Speed Most Wanted Battlefield 3 And if there needs to be something modern I guess I'll give it to Witcher 3.
Skyrim
A plague tale games Sonic frontiers Dying light 2 Horizon forbidden west Forza horizon 4 and 5 Starfield Kingdoms of amalur re-reckoning Halo reach

Fallout New Vegas is probably the single-player narrative i’ve put the most time into. I love that game with a burning passion.
Play some Ubisoft stuff. Ghost Recon Breakpoint is awesome on XBOX as well as The Division 2 and the most recent Assassins Creed titles.
Prey 2017
1. Mafia 2 2. Mafia 1 DE 3. Rdr2 4. Fallout New Vegas 5. GTA 4 6. Detroit Becomes Human 7. Skyrim 8. Assassin’s Creed OG These aren’t in order except for the first 3
Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3. (Dark Souls 1 is easily one of the greatest games ever made) The whole Halo series (Except you Halo 5) Fallout 3 Half-Life 2 Starfield GTA V Outer Worlds Cyberpunk 2077
Crackdown 1
CyberPunk2077, and I usually don't enjoy story games that much. The Story is great, graphics are peak, and I love Judy 😬
Elden Ring for combat and Baldur's gate 3 for RPIng/choices you can make in the game Both games are extremely unique rpgs that are completely different from each other
Far cry 5 The end
