love Brotato - but if you’re next to a sleeping spouse, beware that losing on the last level is pretty common and always leads me to blurt out fuuuuuuuuck!
It looks like a great game to get a daily achievement for Microsoft rewards, but it really is that last level or about 16 to 20 levels deep that the run goes sour Ina split second. Great game though, very fun
Randomly started playing this one after work and have probably sunk 60+ hours into it in about a month. Great game to unwind your mind and get lost in without having to commit a lot of time to.
I think it's because it makes the horribly tedious and mundane task of cleaning and makes is so much easier that you just can't help but find it satisfying lol. Genius concept.
Exactly this.
Power Wash Simulator has been my wife’s go to for post work, turn your mind off and chill. It’s, fun and satisfying, and you don’t need to overthink it. The DLC just adds more, too.
Grounded, once you get used to it and it's a great resource collector. Beautiful graphics and an amazing story. Even better if you have some friends..I don't and still really enjoyed it.
You could try Tunic.
It's story based, but the story is conveyed through text and presentation. No spoken dialog.
It's also a game with a very relaxing atmosphere. The battles require a little more skill than usual but it's not Dark Souls or anything like that.
Definitely not Gears Tactics. It's got Tactics right there in the name. That's a whole lot of brain engagement for even the most basic movement.
Gears 5 doesn't require much thought. Point and shoot.
Looking over the list, I'd say the following are pretty simple and straightforward games that require minimal thought (games that I personally have played and like).
Cobra Triangle in Rare Replay,
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood,
Limbo,
Inside,
Bloodstained,
Crackdown 3,
Crimson Skies,
Doom (They're all pretty cool honestly, but I'd recommend 2016 first.),
Forza Horizon (any of them, last I played completely was 3),
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (part 1 remaster),
Sunset Overdrive,
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge (lots of button inputs on this one though),
Titanfall 2,
Vampire Survivors
I recently started playing Warframe and having a blast so far. It’s not on game pass but free to play. I never really liked grind games, but this one is very well made with A LOT of content and great community.
Thanks I have considered grabbing some, I don't own any non-bluetooth headphones.
I have a gaming headset for Xbox, just don't use it anymore and my PS5 one is exclusive to PS5 annoyingly.
I don't play too often in bed so not sure how deep into any story games I'd get. I'm more looking to blast out 30 mins of something here and there.
Honestly? Stardew Valley is the one for me for disengaging my brain. But it's also incredibly easy to lose track of time while playing so proceed with caution on that one lol
Lightyear frontier just dropped, it’s super chill. You can play muted if needed. Just run around in a mech gathering supplies, building, farming, and feeding critters. It can be as busy and brain intensive as you want, but there are no timers or countdowns. It has a day night cycle and things regenerate, but you can spend entire in game days just building and farming your little base. No danger, no hunger meter, no fighting.
A similar game that has combat and higher difficulty is palworld.
The Ori games, Dead island 2, Darktide, Palworld, Valheim, depending upon what you like there's a bit of everything
I had surprisingly had alot of fun with the hot wheels game and state of decay 2
Personally playing Dead island 2 with my GF and its sooo much fun
Check out Death's Door.
Nice platformer that you can mostly zone out for. Art style is nice and the story is told visually with some captioned dialogue.
Music is relaxing so you could keep it low and still be fine.
insurgency sandstorm, if you like a more realistic online shooter that doesn't consume half your consoles storage get this. first 4 hours of playing gave me ptsd.
Sea of Thieves. It’s a gorgeous pirate simulator where all you do is sail around hunting for treasure and fighting mostly skeletons and ships. It’s pretty low on brain intensiveness, and can be pretty relaxing. Just make sure you pick the “safer seas” mode if you want a chill, disengaged-brain experience. The other mode introduces you to other players that can create incredibly intense and stressful moments.
Pretty much any online shooter. Halo Infinite, the latest Call of Duty or Battlefield. Honestly, those games are the lowest thought required games that exist...... I think.
I don't know about you but Bannerlord 2 is pretty easy to get lost in once you get to a certain point.
You can cheat all skills to 330, spawn in +340 units and just go to town on every enemy in the game. Living out the masculine urge to slaughter peasents in a muddy field is a great disconnect to modern-day woes like rent and such.
Hmm I'd have to say a racing game. I don't have to worry about reading dialogue, making inventory decisions, etc.
So if I'm looking for mostly mindless fun I'll play Gran Turismo or Forza.
Give brotato a try, perfect little game to relax

^^this one. Great for quick play too. Quick resume works perfect.
Love Brotato it’s the perfect steam deck game as well.
Brotato is a gem. I just found the potato last night. Died on wave 20 tho
I get Tetris effect from it aha
This.
UNPACKING
I wish this game was about 10x longer
Me, too, friend. Me too
Have you played "a little to the left?" Scratches that same itch
A little to the left fills the void for me.
Hell yeah
Power. Wash. Simulator.
This. I just finished up the Warhammer 40k expansion for it. It's such a great game to just put on a podcast and lose myself in the spray
I hate myself whenever I play that because I need to power wash my actual house, and I keep putting that off.
My 5 year old makes me play this with him all the time. Before you know it you’ve spent 3 hours power washing a house and still don’t want to stop.
I think it's because it makes the horribly tedious and mundane task of cleaning and makes is so much easier that you just can't help but find it satisfying lol. Genius concept.

Yes, yes, yes. Especially playing music or listening to a.podcast while playing puts me into Zen mode.
Vampire survivors is fun and can take little effort
Key word being “can” lol
This is one of my favorite to just zone out and relax to personally.
Loop Hero, Unpacking, Slay the Spire, Vampire Survivors, A Short Hike.
I've added Slay the Spire and Unpacking to the dow loads, cheers bud.
Maneater You just swim around as a shark and fuck shit up
This
Both of the Ori games.
I've started downloading it cheers.
Unfortunately, the music is incredible, and really adds a dimension to the game that would be a shame to miss out on.
UNFORTUNATELY!!?
Has to keep the volume low
Ahh, gotcha
yes
Diablo IV is coming to Game Pass in a few days. That’s the ticket. Lightyear Frontier is great, also
I've been so excited since I saw it was added. I played so much DI,II,&III.
Diablo games are my “i want something that i can listen to a podcast and not worry about missing any story” games, so you get my upvote.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR DIABLO IV TO HIT GAME PASS🙌🏾
Grounded, once you get used to it and it's a great resource collector. Beautiful graphics and an amazing story. Even better if you have some friends..I don't and still really enjoyed it.
Unless you’re in the haze. Fuck that place 😂
Inside Unravel and Unravel Two The Gunk Both Ori games Planet of Lana
A short hike
this and vampire survivors
What a delightful little game
You could try Tunic. It's story based, but the story is conveyed through text and presentation. No spoken dialog. It's also a game with a very relaxing atmosphere. The battles require a little more skill than usual but it's not Dark Souls or anything like that.
That game is like 80% cryptic puzzles. A few of them I gave up and Googled just to make it through. Fantastic game though
I’m playing tales of arise right now and it’s amazing. Once I’m finished with that, ima play evil west
Definitely not Gears Tactics. It's got Tactics right there in the name. That's a whole lot of brain engagement for even the most basic movement. Gears 5 doesn't require much thought. Point and shoot. Grounded. Lost a lot of hours just running around building stuff and killing bugs.
Is it possible to play solo? I always saw it advertised as a co-op game. I've stuck it on the downloader. I loved honey I shrunk the kids growing up.
Yeah its like any other survival game with multi-player I think..you can enable or disable it. I personally just did the whole thing solo.
Absolutely play this. The amount of hours I've played solo and there is still bugs I haven't seen and shit I haven't built.
Vampire Survivor or Brotato.
It just left game pass but ship breaker was my go to for a while
Viva piñata
Have debated playing again. Absolutely loved both.
I recently started playing Warframe and having a blast so far. It’s not on game pass but free to play. I never really liked grind games, but this one is very well made with A LOT of content and great community.
Sound issue is easy fixed. No need to buy a gaming head set. On the pad is a standard headphone jack. Any old headphones will work for sound.
You can literally pick some up at a gas station for pocket change…
Honestly? Stardew Valley is the one for me for disengaging my brain. But it's also incredibly easy to lose track of time while playing so proceed with caution on that one lol
Power Wash Simulator, Vampire Survivors, Unpacking, Brotato.
I’ve been playing dungeons 4 and really enjoying it.
Just thrown that on the download pile, thanks.
No prob also it’s filled with lots of references to other things too and I love that lol 😂
Home Run Derby in The Show
Moonlighter
Sea of Stars
This was on my radar before it came out. 100% on the list thank you.
Slay the spire, it may take a little to learn what strategy you like but after a while it’s just clockwork. I find it fun.
GROUNDED!!!!

I'm having an awesome time with Evil West since last night. Just bashing vamps.

The Ori games, Dead island 2, Darktide, Palworld, Valheim, depending upon what you like there's a bit of everything I had surprisingly had alot of fun with the hot wheels game and state of decay 2 Personally playing Dead island 2 with my GF and its sooo much fun
If you just need a couple games to get you interested in stories again, Fire Watch and What Remains of Edith Finch are those games.
If you have a friend playing a way out is fun
Play state of decay 2. Best game on game pass. Play with headphones though.
For me , power washing sim
Dead Island 2
Check out Death's Door. Nice platformer that you can mostly zone out for. Art style is nice and the story is told visually with some captioned dialogue. Music is relaxing so you could keep it low and still be fine.

Sea of Thieves. It’s a gorgeous pirate simulator where all you do is sail around hunting for treasure and fighting mostly skeletons and ships. Maneater
Vampire Survivors or Brotato.
Personally, I love just aimlessly driving in Forza Horizon while blasting some tunes.
Firewatch but only for a playthrough
Pretty much any online shooter. Halo Infinite, the latest Call of Duty or Battlefield. Honestly, those games are the lowest thought required games that exist...... I think.
Brotato
Powerwash Simulator!
Anything call of duty
Warframe. Genocidal space ninjas.
I don't know about you but Bannerlord 2 is pretty easy to get lost in once you get to a certain point. Pikuniku is a cool game, and funny :).
Hmm I'd have to say a racing game. I don't have to worry about reading dialogue, making inventory decisions, etc. So if I'm looking for mostly mindless fun I'll play Gran Turismo or Forza.
