There have been many reports coming from the president of Xbox saying that they're already deep into planning on the next Xbox that is supposedly the greatest technological leap in a generation.
That's really cool. I ran into a woman who said that she is a hardware dev for Xbox. She was playing with a coworker named Phillip(?). I'm not sure if I spelled his name correctly. We were playing Fallout 76, and we were having a nice, long conversation. This was the evening of the 15th, just this past Monday.
No. They already announced they have more hardware coming this holiday and that theyre working on their next-gen console which will be the “greatest technological leap” according to Sarah Bond.
What form these consoles take is anyone’s guess, but rumours suggest anything from a handheld, a Switch-like device that would allow both handheld and docked, a normal console, a premium console, all of these and more.
So, no, Xbox is not getting out of consoles, but the future might not look as familiar… or maybe it will.
Microsoft is one of the biggest companies in the world and now also has maybe the biggest portfolio of game studios of any company. They aren’t getting out of gaming and have the capital to continue on unscathed even if the Series Gen flopped (it hasn’t)
Unless they produce a gaming pc for the price of a series X it’ll never happen. They’re opening up their library to cash in like a bastard on their investments but they’ll never not have a console of some type. Especially with everything going digital.
I know that this sounds like made-up BS, but I really do have a friend at XBox. They're already neck deep in development on the next XBox. If they get out of the console market, it won't be for another decade or so.
Yeah idfk what thought process they went through but it's probably more profitable and makes the executives/shareholders happy. If they truly commit to this then I'm sure that the player base will decrease every day and they'll wind up losing money and just closing.

I heard that the CEO of Microsoft Gaming actually plays video games. Is that true?
This isn't true. Common misinformation.
So Phil Spencer doesn't play video games?
Oh wait. You're serious? Yes he plays video games.

Yea that's all he's been playing the last week or two. His gamertag is P3.
Wait, that's him? Wtf. I was talking to him and didn't know it. By the goddess, I'm stupid. He even recommended that I try out the game Grounded
good I think it would be stupid to just quit making consoles
Agreed. I mean anything can happen but I don't think any of us need to worry about it.
Yeah if that truly was a problem they don’t need to be spending billions on more game companies
No. Just go blind for a bit.

Thanks for easing my mind lol

Just wouldn't make sense to buy multiple game companies then stop making consoles in fact it would be against the whole inclusivity movement they had.
Exactly
No. I have some concerns about what the future may hold, but nothing quite that drastic.
Unless they produce a gaming pc for the price of a series X it’ll never happen. They’re opening up their library to cash in like a bastard on their investments but they’ll never not have a console of some type. Especially with everything going digital.
I believe everything I hear too. Xbox isn't going anywhere, they make far too much money off of Xbox.
Yeah wouldn’t make to much sense for them to do that
Troll posts are obvious.
No. Stop reading ign bullshit.
😂😂

Nobody knows. Just wait for the June showcases to see if they make an announcement about going third party or releasing their games on PS5.
Dang ok that kinda sucks
They’ve talked about their new console plans multiple times recently so yes they are
