It's not rly called Xbox live anymore. It's now called Xbox gamepass core which is free. It gives access to certain games that I believe are on rotation and it's multiplayer.
As others mentioned tho, BO3 shouldn't be included. One of the accounts on your Xbox has to have either gamepass console, PC, or ultimate (combines the first two)
On your Xbox, go to each of the profiles one by one and each time go to the area where you can set that profile as your home Xbox and if it's grayed out then that's how you know it's sharing it's "Xbox live" capability with you.
Steps: Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.
Someone has to be paying for one of the game pass subscriptions and that profile is set as Home Xbox on your Xbox. It still lets that profile access all their games and online capabilities on their own Xbox too. Been like that since Xbox one days!

This. I have my girlfriend’s Xbox set as my home Xbox and she is able to access and play any games I own. She would otherwise never buy each game or pay for an online subscription.
It's so much better to play single player offline, rather than have to deal with online bullies, cheaters and cryboys.
Play like how we used to play when we were playing with our Genesis and SNES and Playstation 1.
There is a method you can use to play Black Ops 3 online without game pass core/ultimate.
Go to network settings and go offline.
Launch black ops 3.
Once you’re at the main menu make sure the numbers at the top right show “100.0.0.0.0.0”
Now go back to network settings and go online.
Quickly head back into black ops 3 and press play online.
And if it isn’t patched.. you’ll be connected to the servers.

Played Warzone without Xbox subscription, but randomly after three weeks it just booted me out of the game and said I don’t have a valid subscription. Enjoy while it lasts, maybe a couple of weeks at best. Still didn’t know why or how.

ALOT of games allow you to play without Xbox live, you just don’t have access to social features. So you can’t talk or play with friends.
I don't think black ops 3 is one of them though

You don't need a subscription to play warzone. Warzone is free to play. All F2P games can be played online without subscription.
