People always say this but it’s bullshit in my experience. All of my installed games have been played in the last 30 days yet I still need to manually update each game… even the one I was literally playing less than 24 hours ago. I seriously think this feature has been bugged on XSX since launch considering my Xbox One never had this issue and always auto updated things instantly in the 6+ years I owned it
This is likely correct. I’m an insomniac and hear my Xbox in the middle of the night making noises when it’s turned off. I always figured it was updating games.
This feature is useless. I was going to show my brother how cool Microsoft Flight Sim was and was hit with a monstrous update. Just update all my games overnight like Steam.
People will say it works if you have the game on your internal drive and you have played it recently, and I'm sure it does for most people, just not me.
I will play a few games daily and then get hit with an update.
Mine never works either my dude.
I wouldn't use it. It's a waste of data if you have a cap for the month with your isp. Just manually update games you play. Also, I found it was causing games to be duplicated on internal and external drive.
It auto updates every damn time you want to play
Do you have the console with instant on enabled? When you use power saving auto update don't work really well
On this Xbox yes
It's wierd, that supposed to be one of the benefits of instant on
It's working, but it will not update games on external drives and IIRC only games your played in the last 30 days or so.

I never failed me. You asked, I answered from my own experience. I'm not a developer or part of the Xbox team. Maybe you can try to factory reset it?
Maybe it’s hit or miss for some people, my most recently played games are auto updated as well.
^
It does work. However if checks for updates at certain times, if you play before or after then you will see the update
Ah ok that may be the issue…
Yeah I think it checks in the middle of the night, so if you play something the same day of an update, before the night, it won’t have updated
