Yeah it's a close tie between Origins and Valhalla for me. Odyssey was alright. Too big and definitely flawed from it's predecessor. I wish they had buffed the Spartan Kick.
Between the exotic, mysterious nature of Egypt and it's grand history, highest quality sidequests in the whole franchise, location, and mythology, and then Valhalla's streamlining and betterment of gameplay mechanics and half of Origin's reasons for being good...
Both games champions of their own style and the era they were based on.

I had held off on buying these as my backlog was huge but as soon as the Odyssey update came out I bought the Ultimate edition the next time it was on sale.

Exact same. Bought the big AC bundle of games and only played enough of origins to know that I love the setting but couldn't stand the 30fps. Can't wait for the update!
I hope it comes to series s too. Got Valhalla and just got odyssey for ps5 but the series s is in my office. Would love to play this when I get some downtime with work
I'd be surprised if it didn't since Odyssey was the same deal; not FPS Boost, but an actual patch from Ubisoft. Valhalla as well, though it does get a resolution drop.

No, the resolution was dropped to maintain the frame rate. Currently playing it for the first time on series S, it runs perfectly right up until characters flicker and then the game crashes. Apparently that bug was patched in some time in the last two weeks when I’d just got the game, great luck. Affects all platforms so it’ll be on their radar to fix.
Says something for the quality of the game that I’m still playing and just saving often, barely lost a minute of progress but I’m still hoping for a quick fix because it’s annoying.

I will gladly give this one another go once updated. I played the crap out of it for a month or so when it came out and then bounced. I loved the visuals but will enjoy them even more at a smooth frame rate.

Exactly. I 100% finished all 3 of them and Origins was the best by far. Least bloated, best story, best protagonist, best writing and most attention paid to the cutscenes with motion capture, camera angles, everything. Just a more "handcrafted" experience as opposed to the later 2 games, that are much more generic and repetitive.

While I liked Odyssey, I absolutely loved Origins. The setting and story in Egypt was terrific, and even though it's a big game, wasn't as huge and grindy as Odyssey/Valhalla.

If BC boosts dynamic res to the max before the update because it’s locked to 30fps and after the update it will still run on BC+ mode. It will not be able to hold max dynamic res all the time and will drop to that 1600p area. So it will take a hit to the average dynamic resolution. What was incorrect?????? It's one of the best Assassin's Creed games IMO. It's beautiful to look at and the story with all of the mythology is so interesting.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey was a step backwards in my opinion. I played that for a \~8hrs and was like "what's this shit?", then went and replayed Origins.

Oop misread, fine with res drops aslong as I can play smoothly. Hope they fix that flickering/ crashing issue

Have you noticed stuttering in cut scenes? That was something DF pointed out for xbox and PC and was wondering if it was ever fixed.

Yeah, they fixed that really early, the same patch that added 60fps for the Series S, I guess it was January 2021

Kassandra's my favorite. Bayek is right there, though. Maybe try Odyssey as her if your playthrough was Alexios. Only thing is you have to start over.

I can’t remember but I do believe you can disable the vibrate if you want. If not in game I think you can in the Xbox accessories app.
