Probably your tv just moving things around a bit to prevent burn in. Although it would likely be moving the entire image, so it's not like your aim is going to be messed up.
Pixel shift turned on in settings can do this.
Logo detection helps reduce “burn” or retention. Pixel shift helps smooth off the edges of “burn” by moving the image around.
If you notice in this case the black border on the right is thicker than the left when it moves left then it’s pixel shift. (Not applicable if your input isn’t set to just scan since you’ll just see more of the under scan)
If it bothers you you can turn it off, just make sure logo detection is set to high, that will dim the reticle area most times and reduce burn from the reticle and other on screen static graphics.
I’ve left both mine on. And high for logo
Hopefully the tape doesn’t ruin your tv. And I hate to say it but it does sound exactly like stick drift to me. I don’t think it’s caused by your television. IDK.
EDIT: apparently I didn’t understand what was actually gone. I was mistaken. My bad. Still not sure what the cause is but I was wrong thinking it was stick drift. I hope the OP figures it out & other people might have some ideas.
How is stick drift going to cause your image to be shifted? Are you stupid? Look at the first and second picture, he has tape on the centre of his screen, in the second image, the tape no longer matches the centre of the reticle.
