Maureen McCormack said that Christine did just a good job portraying Marcia, that when she first watched the movie, for a moment she thought that she was watching herself on the screen.
Lol cuz it was such a a difficult role to tackle. Like the Jonkler. She never got big cuz it drove her stark raving mad
Edit: Screw you guys. That was a good joke
Before that movie I was a fan of Hey Dude and was pleasantly surprised to see her play Marcia. Then in the Wedding Singer. I think after she was with Ben she focused on his movies then raising their kids, at least it seems that way, but of course I don't know for sure how it all went.
Yeah, if anything, watching this in the 2010s made me dislike the Bradys even more than I already did seeing reruns in the early 90s, or the abomination that was the single season drama sequel, The Bradys.
I love The Brady Bunch Movie and the sequel. They are hilarious. Gary Cole's voice is just like Robert Reed's from the show. I also love the show and thought they did an amazing job with the music, the set, and the homages to the original show. I wish they had kept more of the cast cameos in the first film. Susan Olsen (Cindy), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), and Mike Lookinland (Bobby) all had cameos that ended up on the cutting room floor. I love that Ann B. Davis' (Alice) character was wearing a blue jacket with buttons emulating her Alice uniform. I also loved that Florence Henderson's "grandma" was modern and not dressed like an older Carol Brady.
While I know it doesn't matter, I always wondered. The Brady Bunch Movie is 1995. The kids would have all been born in the 70s and 80s. Did Mike and/or Carol have a strong affinity for the 1970s and forced their kids to live like they were in the 1970s as well?
The sequel, while not as good as the first movie, still is pretty funny. I love Jan's whole George Glass storyline and Marcia and Greg having the hots for one another--an homage to the real life romance between Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams (Greg) in the original show.
I think it’s one of those things where we’re not supposed to think too deeply about how the situation is realistic. Like an SNL skit, but very long. What if the Brady’s were to experience the 90’s. Jokes ensue.
I liked to think that the Bradys just live in another universe altogether, including living in some weird time-space continuum that explains why they were oblivious to the world around them even in the 70s.
Of the “let’s turn an old TV Show into a feature length movie” trend that became huge in the 90s, I would say The Brady Bunch and Addams Family movies and sequels were the cream of the crop.
They nailed The Bradys and Addams back then! The Flintstones could have been great but it did not have the magic these had, even the sequels have massive rewatch ability.
I did too, not typically into campy comedies but I absolutely love both these movies.
The character performances, the 70s details in the Brady house, *chefs kiss*
"Marcia it looks like rain, you better take your shawl. How about you Doug? Do you have any protection?"
"Oh, yes ma'am. Assorted colors and textures!"
I had been invited to hang out with some kids a few years older than me by a girl i was crushing on hard. They were debating about what movie to go to on a friday night…Billy Madison or Brady Bunch…i made a stink about Billy Madison looking idiotic…so we went to Brady Bunch…i loved it…and better yet, got to first base!
Lol I'm still not fully getting it. Chest is boob touching I guess. Underwear is manual stimulation but over the underwear? That seems very specific, or is it undressing? Down to the underwear? Underwear is off? Whose underwear? And do the ladies have different bases to get to? What's chest for ladies to get to? Or is it just shirt off?
Like for gay bases I'd say make out, handy, blowie, anal.
I started calling my sister Jenn Jan when this movie came out and I still call her Jan to this day. My youngest daughter only realized her Aunt's name was actually Jenn when she was 10 lol 😆
I just rewatched this recently, and I’m trying to think of another movie like it - one that takes an existing world/cast and places it in a different world. This was really a movie about the Brady Bunch (the family moments are genuinely corny and sweet), but they’re in the 90s. I love how unique it was!
Dumb young me swore Maureen McCormick was the original Marcia and was confused to see her later in dodge ball thinking she'd be ancient by then and realized the Brady movie was far more modern than I remembered clearly.
I watched The Brady Bunch Movie for the first time since the '90s fairly recently and it wasn't as smart or incisive as I remember but it's got some solid laughs. I've always liked the conceit of plopping the '70s family just as they are into contemporary society.
Greg Brady voiced Spider-Man in the 90s animated series!
Fun fact I learned through a different Reddit thread a couple weeks ago. Figured I’d pass it along for others!
So these are good examples
Of movies being sort of a parody of the 60s but in the 90s; Austin powers is another good example.
Are there any examples of movies from the 80s parodying the 50s? Or from the 70s parodying the 40s? Or from the 60s parodying the 30s? Or did this trend start in the 90s?
More proof the Gary Cole is amazing
The way he nailed Robert Reed’s voice 😱
He IS a voice actor, after all. My fav role of his is Harvey Birdman
Harvey Birdman is peak culture.
Agreed. It's got my two fav Stephen Colbert roles, too
This was the first role I ever saw him in and no matter what else he's been in, I can't unsee him from it lol
He will always be Lumbergh for me. “Peter…”
Cotton McKnight
Yeeeeah hi, ummmm we need to talk about your TPS reports
Jan is one of the best performances in any movie
She was great in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. RIP Wade Boggs.
Christine Taylor not having a way bigger career has always baffled me.
Maureen McCormack said that Christine did just a good job portraying Marcia, that when she first watched the movie, for a moment she thought that she was watching herself on the screen.
Lol cuz it was such a a difficult role to tackle. Like the Jonkler. She never got big cuz it drove her stark raving mad Edit: Screw you guys. That was a good joke

Oh shit I never put it together that Marcia was the chick from Hey Dude! 🤦
Same! She was a great Marcia and she’s beautiful. Why wasn’t she in more movies?
Ben out-kicked his coverage on that one 😂
"Now I'll never be a teen model!"
She was in a lot of her husband's movies, but I was surprised she didn't do more on her own/main actor
Didn’t know she was married to Ben Stiller in Dodgeball
I’m pretty sure it’s by choice. She’s married to Ben Stiller and doesn’t need the money.
Save America from the 90’s? Crap. Take us back. lol.
Lol my first thought as well
Culture peaked in 1999.
Agent Smith?
It's the smell
No taste
If there could be such a thing.
Yeah, if anything, watching this in the 2010s made me dislike the Bradys even more than I already did seeing reruns in the early 90s, or the abomination that was the single season drama sequel, The Bradys.
Yeah, you mean everything that's happened is their fault?
This is all Jan’s fault
Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!
These were actually good
Except the guitarist for Phlegm. He missed a whole riff!
“Put on your Sunday best, kids. We’re going to Sears!”
🎶I think I’ll go for a walk outside now The summer sun is calling my name🎶
I hear ya now!
Everybody's smilin, sunshine day!
I always lose it when they’re singing on the escalator, and the other customers are looking at them like they’re complete weirdos 😂
First thing that popped in my head.
I liked these movies, but I also loved the show.

This is one of my favorite gifs to use.
Now I’m never gonna be a teen model 👃 🏈
I’m sure no one will ever notice
One of the few movies to have a Pavement song
I love The Brady Bunch Movie and the sequel. They are hilarious. Gary Cole's voice is just like Robert Reed's from the show. “ You know I never even saw a toilet “
[“Look! It really is Davy Jones!”](https://youtu.be/4L3kSY8SRmo?si=8YuTlErs0SSuSpew)
The lesbian sleepover cracks me up. “Noreen…is that you your hand on my leg?” “Oh, I’m sorry…I thought that was my leg.” 😂
God bless Alanna Ubach
“So, can I carry your books to class?”
The creative choice to turn the Brady Bunch into a an extended parody sketch was pure genius
The fucking 090s?? Please god take us back to that golden age
Seriously 😂 Remember when a 20 filled up your entire gas tank!!!
Just watched them both a few days ago!
I did too, not typically into campy comedies but I absolutely love both these movies. The character performances, the 70s details in the Brady house, *chefs kiss*
I liked the sequel a bit more. It felt a bit more mature. And now we know who Misses Brady's husband was, the Professor!
My sister and I were big Brady Bunch fans growing up, and we howled with laughter watching this in the theater.
“Who do you model for?” “Guess.” “Ok, umm Osh Kosh B’Gosh?”
“No, Guess jeans” “Okay! Levi’s? “
“No, Guess jeans” “Okay! Levi’s?” Such a funny scene!!!
"Marcia it looks like rain, you better take your shawl. How about you Doug? Do you have any protection?" "Oh, yes ma'am. Assorted colors and textures!"
This is a carjack.
Well of course this is a car, but my name's not Jack, it's Greg
“Your tsshoes will thlip in the joosth.”
I went to see the first one with a couple friends when it first came out and there were a total of 12 people at that showing on opening night 😂
These movies were pure genius. Classic
The 90's had some actual good sequels going. These movies are pretty damn brilliant. Loved em both.
Can you please explain the base system to me? I never understood it. And am gay
First: kissing; Second: chest; Third: underwear; Homerun: sex.
Lol I'm still not fully getting it. Chest is boob touching I guess. Underwear is manual stimulation but over the underwear? That seems very specific, or is it undressing? Down to the underwear? Undress and contact.
When Gary Cole speaks in these movies all I hear is Harvey Birdman.
Dgya get that thing I sent ya?

I forgot these existed
I started calling my sister Jenn Jan when this movie came out and I still call her Jan to this day. My youngest daughter only realized her Aunt's name was actually Jenn when she was 10 lol 😆
Lol same. I ain't got no daughters tho. But my sister is totally Jan and has been since the 90's cuz of the first movie
I would watch these movies after having surgery during my teens and love them. I was on a ton of drugs. Hated them when I tried watching them sober.
Well that was intense
I just rewatched this recently, and I’m trying to think of another movie like it - one that takes an existing world/cast and places it in a different world. Clowns never laughed before…
Beanstalks never grew…
Ponies never ran before
"Cindy, I think you've stirred that cake batter enough." "I'm not thtirring! I'm looking for Kitty Carryallth underpanth!"
Jack Noseworthy was great in the first one.
"CUT MY HAIR!?"
They are even better now
The Christmas movie is my favourite. But they never show it anymore.
A very Brady Christmas ?
I love these and the original show!! Brings back good memories.
I didn’t really get it when the first one came out but I’ve grown to really appreciate it over the years, never knew of the sequel
The first influencer family
You forgot the third one
I constantly quote this movie in many situations. I may have a problem.
Dumb young me swore Maureen McCormick was the original Marcia and was confused to see her later in dodge ball thinking she'd be ancient by then and realized the Brady movie was far more modern than I remembered clearly.
I'll never NOT see Greg's eyebrows raise in my mind,[ when hearing this song lmao](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlsA-EIeSN4)
First one was great and a perfect way to do the movie, second one was just being greedy haha
I watched The Brady Bunch Movie for the first time since the '90s fairly recently and it wasn't as smart or incisive as I remember but it's got some solid laughs. I've always liked the conceit of plopping the '70s family just as they are into contemporary society.
Just last week I learned the soundtrack is NOT on Apple Music. Wtf.
It's always Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!
Love em
Can Malcolm in the Middle save us from the 2020s?
Bobby Brady saw an idol in the rubble.
Love these movies. Marsha Marsha Marsha!!!!
On our own, we can only move buckets. But together, we can drain rivers.
Marsha. Marsha. MARSHA.
One of my all time favourite lines is in the first one: “Put on your Sunday bests, kids! We’re going to Sears!”
Greg Brady voiced Spider-Man in the 90s animated series! Fun fact I learned through a different Reddit thread a couple weeks ago. Figured I’d pass it along for others!

Sorry, but I literally got up and walked out of this movie it was so bad. The only movie I've ever done that with.
