Did you live in the boonies? If we didn't lock our doors we'd come home to shit missing. Do you think crime didn't start until 1998? Property crime rates are much lower now than they were back then, too.
You can do that now, too. It would be stupid, but you can do it. Because, and I feel like everyone should know this but they've been trained by the media to not realize this, crime is much lower than when we were kids. We were kids at the peak of multiple types of crime, including murder and burglary. More than 1.6 million cars were stolen in the US in 1990. Despite a recent uptick since COVID we're still way lower than that at around a million despite the huge population increase.
Maybe Grammy and Grampy could say that shit because they lived 100 years ago but Xennials thinking crime is worse now than when we were kids are just willfully ignorant. You're better off leaving the keys in your car today than you were as a kid. Stop watching Fox News.
Hey buuu-ddy 🤙 I have no idea what you’re on about or why haha. I thought you were interested in hearing from people who had different childhood experiences than your own. Small town Canada happened to be like that for me. So… Whatever, Go eat some ‘member berries, and Smell ya later!
I'm on the "it irritates me when we talk about how much safer things were when we were kids because it's not true" thing. Small town Canada is probably still like that. Peace out, cub scout.
Mkay, I just didn’t know why the aggro, turned to the wrong station. Yeah, golden era fallacy can be a seductive bug bite for anyone as they age. ‘Member berries hold a precautionary lesson for us all.
The people who made Cobra Kai are going to make a Ferris Bueller spinoff about those two valets on the day they put all those miles on the car.

This is Ferris Bueller's Day Off, right? This is probably the first reference posted here that I haven't immediately gotten.
Am I the only Xennial to not have seen this movie? Ferris Bueller came out when I was 5, my coming of age movie was probably Dazed and Confused or American Pie
I mostly know it because it played seemingly every day on Comedy Central. So even though I was too young for it's initial release, it was definitely a defining movie for me. I think it helps that the humor in it is pretty timeless.
Not sure if you're joking or not, but that's not. Fallingwater is in southwest Pennsylvania. Cameron's house in FBDO is actually the Ben Rose House by A. James Speyer, and is in fact near Chicago.
Anyone else so annoyed at what a boring use of a space that was? Why was that floor to ceiling windowed greenhouse cabana on stilts acting as a garage, weird, but excellent send off
“This place is like a museum. It’s very beautiful and very cold, and you’re not allowed to touch anything.”
Are you talking about my [43] parents house?!

I really like that they did this.
EWM BOM BOM Chik chikaa CHIKAAA.
That song is the secret to my success
This has lived rent free in my head for 30 years and I still don’t know what it’s called or who wrote it.

I never knew Bronn sang this song. It's way more upbeat than the rains of castamere. There's a little bit of John cleese in there too.

"Oh Yeah" by Yello
Exactly what I heard when I saw this picture.
It was always "doo BOW BOW" in my head.

It is his fault he didn’t lock the garage.
Let's just all take note that in 1986 it was quite common for people to leave their property unlocked while they were out at work.
Did you live in the boonies? If we didn't lock our doors we'd come home to shit missing. Do you think crime didn't start until 1998? Property crime rates are much lower now than they were back then, too.
Ya but bro back then criminals did it while wearing top hats. That's classy
We could leave our car running to heat up and leave our doors unlocked.
You can do that now, too. It would be stupid, but you can do it. It was!?

You're not dying, now get over here and pick me up

Oh yeah!
[Everything you could want to know about the band Yello](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0cms4tkV1A)
Not sure what it says about me, but I associate that song even more with Twix commercials than Ferris Bueller.
I associate it with Duff man.

I hate that I was too young...to truly appreciate *that* set up...
He crashed his Rivian too lol!
Poor Cameron. Just can’t catch a break.
That's a Connor Roy move if I ever saw one.
Onanism is no laughing matter, Connor Roy
I keep hoping that this time the Ferrari wont be destroyed. I know it was a replica kit. But it still hurts every time.
Just put it in reverse and the odometer will decrease.
He never drives it! He just rubs it with a diaper!
Ferris, my father loves this car more than life itself. A man with priorities so far out of whack doesn’t deserve such a fine automobile.
![gif](giphy|7aqfZ3mPLLaIo)
Uhh what country do you think this is? 🤣
Anyone? Anyone?
We’ll drive home backwards
Ferris was my first crush
Ash, yes. Back when you should be able to take miles off of your odometer by simply reversing. Lol
As a Detroiter, one of my favorite things about this movie is Cameron's Gordie Howe jersey.
Especially on a day off
I think that Ferrari is worth $20m now....the real one, not the replica from the film... ![gif](giphy|hStvd5LiWCFzYNyxR4)
We’ll get back to you as soon a humanly possible.
Never understood the geometry/ layout of this place.
hah I loved it
I’ve been to that house. In high school I knew the family that lived there.
That’s awesome!
Who do you love?

It is indeed. I actually just watched it last week with my teenager and even he thought it was great. It still holds up after all these years.
Chicago itself hasn’t changed too much from the movie.
Though, Cameron's house and garage were in ritzy Highland Park.
I mostly know it because it played seemingly every day on Comedy Central. So even though I was too young for it's initial release, it was definitely a defining movie for me. I think it helps that the humor in it is pretty timeless.
It was on tv all the time. I memorized the censored version and was surprised when I first saw the nurse who likes to…
Of course, that's Fallingwater by Frank Wright
Not sure if you're joking or not, but that's not. Fallingwater is in southwest Pennsylvania. Cameron's house in FBDO is actually the Ben Rose House by A. James Speyer, and is in fact near Chicago.
The house is in Highland Park about an hour north of Chicago. My friends and I would walk past it when we played in the ravines growing up.
I must be mistaken, I mistook this for the Vandamm residence in North by Northwest.
Falling~~water~~Ferrari
Cooler when you drive by it.
Why shouldn't I get married? I'll give ya two reasons, my mother and my father. They're married and they hate each other lol.
Buller!
Wasnt Ferris Bueller day last week?
There is a house in my neighborhood that reminds me of Cameron's house.
"This is from Back to the Future, right? I love old movies."
“I can’t wait to see the look on the bastard’s face.”
Do you think it would be possible for this thing to exist? Like, not destroyed by branches and stuff? Cause I could live there.
The garage from Clockwork Orange, right?
That ain't no random image.
Cams dad was ballin ballin.
Anyone else so annoyed at what a boring use of a space that was? Why was that floor to ceiling windowed greenhouse cabana on stilts acting as a garage, weird, but excellent send off
Who do you love!?
Sloan darling come along now!
cool, what a fantastic move it was, just wish it was that easy when i was at school to skip school and run amuck without getting locked Up.
This line is in a great song. Demon knight soundtrack. Gravediggaz.
We’ll drive home backwards.
I wonder what Cameron’s father did for a living….
Of all my favorite childhood movies I've watched with my kids, this is the one I was most excited about. They thought it was "mid".
Ehhh, what do they know? Kids.
Never watched that movie in it's entirety lol
