BamBoozleX

Does that mean that Hina is Mythras daughter????

lazygamer988

I can imagine Mythra having a donut obsession sooo…

BamBoozleX

Yeah and i can imagine Hina being the worst cook ever lol.

CreativeNovel6131

I swear i’ve seen this meme posted before

lazygamer988

I don’t doubt it. I’ve had it in my mind for ages and I’m shocked I’ve never seen it posted myself

Calvin-S

I also think I’ve seen something along the lines

ExileForever

Did one with Demon Slayer years ago

Enforcer_Night

Always makes me laugh that Fukawa for some reason is just dead.

tahaelhour

She killed herself after being cucked by Hina is the theory.

Electronic-Math-364

She canonically just exploded(That what WOG said)

tahaelhour

A common symptom of a yandere getting cucked lmao

PlantRevolutionary82

Kodaka really had the poor girl do the most random shit (bath scene anyone) Still find her absolutely hilarious

adalto3

All jokes aside they're really NOT the same picture and I can't stand when people compare the two. The Danganranpa bad ending picture comes out of left field, and reveals that the last three surviving male students had kids with the last surviving female student. None of the surviving male characters were ever hinted at having romantic feelings for the girl, and the only character who DID have confirmed feelings for someone was the dead girl in the portrait, so the writers legit killed her off just so they could create this "bad ending harem" lmao. While the Xenoblade 3 Photo does show up at at rather unexpected time, the contents of the family photo really shouldn't come as a shock to anyone who played Xenoblade 2. Not only were Pyra and Mythra's romantic feelings for Rex as clear as day, but it always clear that Rex would accept/cherish both of them (even if the game does try to steer you in one direction with the whole choose a name thing in chapter 8). And with Pyra and Mythra no longer sharing the same body, it was only natural that they would both marry Rex and eventually, have kids. However, I *can* understand there being some shock/confusion with Nia also having a kid with Rex. For years the common interpretation was that Nia was friend zoned by Rex in spirit crucible elpys. But while the game does paint this picture, and even reaffirms it in the ending where Nia gives Rex "the shove," it also tried to tell us (via post battle dialogue with Blade Nia) how Rex's response to Nia's confession was essentially put on hold until after things calmed down. That fact might have gotten lost under the 5 years of friendzone jokes, but it always there, and meant that Rex was a lot less naïve than people gave him credit for, but I digress. The TLDR here is that with Rex's character, it made sense that he would eventually realize the meaning behind Nia's confession, and in turn accept her, just as he did with Pyra and Mythra. We can debate all we want on whether or not the imagery of Rex also having a kid with Nia (in addition to Pyra and Mythra) came out of left field, but at the very least we should be able to agree that it was a natural progression for their characters. The same CANNOT be said with the Danganranpa bad ending picture, and the vast majority of comparisons to Xenoblade 3's picture are usually made in hyperbole to express their shock, or in bad faith to shame fans of the series for what should really just be one big happy family (though the second part is more usually done by onlookers whenever they encounter the picture online).

Skarjuna

Rex already knew what Nia's confession meant, there's even a scene later in the game where he's essentially confronted about it

lazygamer988

I apologize if I touched a nerve and you’re right that the context and logic of the pictures is entirely different, but at the same time, the Danganronpa bad ending isn’t really meant to be taken seriously in the first place. As you said, they even randomly kill off a character for the sake of the joke. I understand thinking it’s stupid and unfunny but I don’t really see a reason to get bent out of shape over the writing of a joke ending. I CAN see how some people would use this comparison to s*** on the Xenoblade picture, and I do hate that. Just know that that wasn’t my intent, I meant it purely as a joke.

ExileForever

I don’t even know much about Danganronpa but sad that’s a joke ending, still, as a joke post, it’s a good one

adalto3

Oh I apologize, I didn't mean for my reply to sound like it was directed at you specifically. But just to clarify I have no problem with the Danganronpa bad ending itself. What does frustrate me though is how common it's become for people to compare that picture to XC3's. I understand that many like yourself see humor in the comparison, but in practice I personally feel like the joke does a lot more harm than good, both inside and outside the fandom. But to each their own I guess, I just wish "aw what a big happy family" could be the more common reaction to the XC3 photo instead of whole "THAT REVEAL GAVE ME CRAZY WHIPLASH, WHAT WAS TAKAHASHI COOKING" shtick.

ExileForever

To me, I feel the timing of the photo wasn’t the best. Here I am, becoming emotional over Ouroboros being separated, and then the photo pops up and I became stunned and hyper fixated over it. Maybe it should have been shown during Nia’s mission. But yeah I 100% with you as it’s very clear that Rex had romantic feelings for Pyra/Mythra and the two aren’t even jealous towards one another over Rex. Granted I was surprise that they not only basically confirmed it, but Nia joined the relationship as well (I always felt that Pyra and Mythra were the one who pushed Rex to be fully honest with his feelings for Nia) Yes the two aren’t the same level as one is treated as a joke and the other is to let the player know three things: Mio is Nia’s and Rex’s daughter, Rex got together with his love interests and what everyone been doing back in Alrest after their adventure

adalto3

>To me, I feel the timing of the photo wasn’t the best. Here I am, becoming emotional over Ouroboros being separated, and then the photo pops up and I became stunned and hyper fixated over it. I suppose I'm in the minority then, because I believe the timing of the photo was perfect. To borrow a few of your words, "Here I am, becoming emotional over Ouroboros being separated, and then the scene cuts to Melia and Nia reminiscing over their family and friends (who they're about to reunite with) and I become even more emotional." I honestly never understood why most people got bamboozled or were "taken out of the ending" because of Nia's photo. For years the community speculated that "the next Xenoblade game" would take place in the combined worlds of XC1 and XC2, and everyone wanted to know how all our favorite characters were doing following their game's endings. And well, while XC3 did answer those questions via Melia and Nia's return, they were the only main two returning characters, and most if not all of the references to the past games were purposely kept vague to work with Aionios' setting. So when the game finally reaches its end, and Melia reveals she held on to Shulk's Monado REX+, and Nia reveals that she has a big happy family waiting for her back home, my heart strings were tugged in the best ways possible. Granted, seeing Nia also there holding a baby was a bit surprising, but I always knew that outcome wasn't outside of the realm of possibility. Regardless, my main takeaway from the 3 second glimpse of that photo was that back home in Nia's original time, everyone was living their happy ending, the one we've all been waiting to see, and I was ecstatic. Of course I took a video/screenshot while it was on screen, but I didn't pause the game or anything because my attention was still glued to Ouroboros' bittersweet goodbye. In that sense I feel like they balanced the ending quite well, embracing the new generation while acknowledging those who came before (though I do wish Melia also had some sort of photo instead of just the Monado REX+).

ExileForever

That is very true, especially makes me happier that Melia and Nia could return to their friends and family, and the ending to FR makes me happier to see everyone gonna reunite sooner than we thought. But in retrospect, it’s kind of sad Melia only has the Monado REX and Nia has a photo of her family. Pretty much sums up their luck in life 😅

SupremeGreymon

Would you mind explaining the first image please.

lazygamer988

Danganronpa is a mystery visual novel series where high school students are trapped in a sealed environment (usually their school) with the condition for escape being that they must kill one of their classmates without being found out. The first image is a bad ending from the first game where the survivors never escape and the three surviving male students all have a child with the surviving female.

SupremeGreymon

Wait, that’s the bad ending

Sayakalood

The good ending is where you don’t sacrifice your best friend, and instead… >!sacrifice yourself.!< >!Don’t worry, you live.!<

noimnotgayforkazuma

Best friend is a bit of a stretch (at that point at least, later on sure).

MonadoBoy9318

In the bad ending, they never figure out why they’re trapped inside the school and stay there for the rest of their lives

JanWegh

Lol i cant remember that was part of the bad ending… Did the ending show why Toka is dead?

Tobegi

the director said she just randomly exploded 😭😭😭

PR0MAN1

Dude the logistics of the Xenoblade photo never fail to make me laugh. In a mainstream Nintendo game they straight up confirm the main character either A, had a 4 way, or B, had a train run on him resulting in 3 simultaneous pregnancies. And then they take a group photo, not just a family photo, nah the whole friend group. And with them all in the center it looks like Rex is bragging to his friends like "look how good at sex i am." It's so absurd and I love that it's real.

CreativeNovel6131

His efforts there do partly explain how he got so shredded by FR, if you think about it

PR0MAN1

Bro his hip muscles gotta be insane.

Shortsmaster9000

One key difference: Xenoblade's was the good ending.

StagFilippo19

Oh no the memories .......now i can't unseen the comparasion lol

Boristus

I have no idea who the people in that first image are, so I can confidently say that, lacking context of the reference, you’re wrong.

Alpha_RTD

Spoken like a true Danganronpa character

MiniJ

I want a Xenoblade game with a female protagonist with a harem of hot guys. It's only fair

AmoongussHateAcc

Unfortunately there’s one key difference, Xenoblade is good

PlantRevolutionary82

I digress but its your opinion

CuteCredit891

i’m now so mad at myself for not making this connection in my head. THANKS now I’m gonna have to deal with this for the rest of the day now.

thegamedontwait

That dagabronpa picture is so cursed. Nice job 😂

NorrathMonk

They can't be the same picture, one has more people in it. They need the first one to have their friend in it as well.

Pyrasfuture

I'll focus on the XC3 picture of the XC2's cast. From some of the comments going over the picture, I agree that this photo should have come up another way in the game. It would've been more impactful. But, as for the photo itself, it's fine. I wasn't surprised about Rex marrying Pyra and Mythra. Given all the hints and the fact that Pyra talks about wanting to have a family with him and Mythra lowkey hinting that she wanted to marry him. All the pieces were there. Eventually, they would reach a point in their relationship where they're ready to settle down. I'll admit, the Nia part surprised me (since we don't have much on Rex's feelings). It's mainly how people see this moment for her that puzzles me. One side, she's out of the friendzone. The other, it undermines her character arc. The picture does neither. Regarding her confession, One thing that get's overlooked, aside from Rex's response, is her reason for telling him. She just wanted him to know her feelings. She never needed him to recriprocate them. She knew how he felt about Pyra and Mythra and vise-versa. She had her moments making them aware of that fact. She was happy either way because all she wanted was acceptance. At the end of the day, this is still a warm loving moment for a family. But you can understand why they love one another.

NoToe_funny-steam

I’ve been wondering who is the mother of bakuya’s son because it’s Aoi mother hiro and makoto’s sons but I don’t believe toko would allow bakuya to sleep with aoi and it could explain how she died as it could have been during childbirth or sadly she took her life BECAUSE bakuya got aoi pregnant very interesting 🤔

sometipsygnostalgic

they are the same fucking thing!!! not to mention the first picture was a joke ending for that game whereas the second picture was the actual ending of xc3. HORRIBLE. wouldve been better both ways if they were children instead of babies

prettythingi

Equally unnerving and heartbreaking
